è un bene che non sia una storia di origini, del resto quelle sono ormai note a tutti... speriamo sia una bella pellicola, con un buon cast... e che sia anni luce lontano dall'ultimo film che hanno fatto sui Fantastici 4 che era orribile a dir poco, noioso e pesante tant'è che volevamo cambiare canale (e veniva un sonno pazzesco, mentre i film del 2000 con la Alba erano belli, molto radicati all'idea di come la Fox vedeva il supergruppo all'epoca ma belli)

Sono ormai passati diversi anni dall’ultima apparizione di Jessica Alba in un cinecomic, ma la nota attrice ha riservato parole al vetriolo nei confronti dei film Marvel, criticando la loro scarsa diversità. A sua detta, infatti, ci sono ancora troppi attori bianchi e caucasici ad avere ruoli da protagonisti.

Intervistata ai microfoni di Glamour UK, Jessica Alba ha così dichiarato:

Anche se si guarda ai film della Marvel, che rappresentano il grande motore del genere fantasy e di ciò che sta accadendo attualmente nell’intrattenimento, tutto è ancora piuttosto caucasico. Direi che ero una delle poche all’epica… Ed era prima che la Marvel fosse venduta alla Disney, ma in sostanza non è cambiato molto.

L’attrice ha poi aggiunto che spera di poter vedere sul grande schermo storie che consentano ai giovani di riflettere quello in cui si trovano. Jessica Alba, nata in California da padre di origini messicane e madre metà danese e metà franco-canadese, interpretò Sue Storm aka La Donna Invisibile nel film dei Fantastici 4 targato Fox, uscito nel 2005, e nel sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, uscito nel 2007. Non ci sono piani per un suo ritorno nel mondo Marvel dal momento che il franchise sarà rebootato (il nuovo film uscirà l’8 novembre 2024 e farà parte della Fase 5 dell’MCU)

Nel corso degli anni il Marvel Cinematic Universe ha cambiato notevolmente rotta rispetto alle dichiarazioni di Jessica Alba, facendo della diversità uno dei suoi punti di forza: da Black Panther a Shang-Chi fino ad arrivare a Sam Wilson come nuovo Captain America e di recente Ms. Marvel, prima supereroina di fede islamica ad essere protagonista di un fumetto interamente a lei dedicato, con la sua serie TV su Disney Plus.



Che questo significhi una svolta black o latina o asiatica per i Marvel e i nuovi Fantastici 4? che ne pensate?

Se pensiamo che il prossimo grande villain sarà Kang, che nei fumetti è un lontano discendente dei Fab4, interpretato dal nero Jonathan Majors, pensare possa esserci qualcuno in famiglia, Reed oppure Sue, di colore è molto facile; con tante polemiche a seguire, ma mi sembra impensabile che in quanto esponenti della famiglia americana non inseriscano un'altra etnia.

A Familiar Face Will Helm Marvel’s Next ‘Fantastic Four’ Film

It’s about damn time.

According to The Direct, Marvel has found a new director for its upcoming Fantastic Four film. The site claims that WandaVision’s Matt Shakman will take over duties from Jon Watts, who left the project earlier this year.

The site also claims that production will begin next year so that the film can make its currently planned 2024 release date.

While this announcement is not official, we expect Shakman’s involvement to be formally announced at D23 next month.

‘WandaVision’ Director Matt Shakman In Talks To Helm Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie

After playing a big part in helping launch the Marvel Studios limited series WandaVision, Matt Shakman may be ready to help launch one of the studio’s prized movie properties. Sources tell Deadline that Shakman is in early talks to direct Marvel’s new Fantastic Four pic.

Rumors have been running rampant in recent weeks that he was in the mix for the job, and insiders are now telling Deadline that while a formal offer hasn’t been presented, early discussions have begun and that things are headed in the right direction. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing.

Marvel could not be reached for comment.

Shakman steps in for Jon Watts, who parted ways with the project in the spring. Watts was coming off Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had just become the sixth highest-grossing film in global box office history with $1.89 billion and needed a break from the comic book realm. Marvel quickly began looking for his replacement, meeting with a number of candidates, and thought was the search may go all the way into the fall.

That said, there was always the thought Shakman was the guy to beat given how comfortable Feige was with him following WandaVision, which not only successfully launched Marvel’s limited series strategy for Disney+ but also earned several Emmy nominations including Best Director for Shakman.

Fantastic Four has been an -anticipated property for MCU fans going back to when Disney acquired Fox and absorbed all its assets; those included Fantastic Four. Ever since fans have been wondering when they would get that new series of films, and Feige delivered that answer at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, saying the film would kick off Phase 6, bowing on November 8, 2024. It will be followed by two Avengers movies: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2 of that year, and Avengers: Secret Wars just six months later.

Shakman is repped by UTA, Artists Firsts and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner, Endlich and Gellman.

RUMOR: Penn Badgley Was Approached To Play Reed Richards In Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’

Although D23 is around the corner, there are so many rumors and would-be scoops making their way onto the web that we may very well know most of Disney’s biggest announcement before they’re officially revealed.

Last week you might recall that our friends over at The Direct name dropped the director poised to bring the MCU’s version of the Fantastic Four to life. This evening, yet another piece of news about the highly anticipated project has dropped.

In the latest episode of the podcast Marvelvision, from the site Cinema Sangha, it’s revealed that You star Penn Badgley was approached to play Reed Richards in the new Fantastic Four film.

The exchange begins with one of the hosts explaining how badly he’d love to see John David Washington (Tenet) in the role, before the other chiming in and saying that Marvel is aiming for a more “traditional” roster.

He says, “The guys that [Marvel’s] been talking to about it are all White guys. That guy from the show You, I mean, who probably has the role frankly – he’s a White guy.”

For those who aren’t so familiar with the hit Netflix series, Penn Badgley is the star. So without saying it directly, the hosts reveal that the actor has been approached for the role. While they do seem confident that Badgley could be the studio’s top choice, they each maintain their speculative tone.

Now, aside from the fact that this info has not been verified by a major trade or Marvel studios, because this is just one (arguably throwaway) line from a podcast, there is a chance that it may not be true. For that, we urge you to take it with a grain of salt.

With less than two weeks until D23 and a slew of official imminent announcements about all things Disney – including Marvel Studios – we think it’s only a matter of time before the truth is revealed.

Last month during San Diego Comic-Con Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that their adaptation of the Fantastic Four will not be an origin story, but something akin to what they did when they brought Spider-Man into the MCU. “A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” he continues, “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

Marvel Studios has a panel at the bi-annual Expo on September 10. It is expected that the studio will reveal the new director and cast at the event, along with a plethora of new surprises, which could also include Deadpool 3, The Mutants, and of course, the rest of Phase 6.

EXCLUSIVE: With Matt Shakman boarding as director, Marvel Studios has now found its writers to deliver the new Fantastic Four pic. Sources tell Deadline that Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are on board to write the script for the film.

Insiders add that the writing duo actually has been involved with Fantastic Four for some time, even before Shakman was tapped as director, and have been outlining where this next series of films will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Kaplan, Springer and Shakman now will come together to align their visions for this project before writer dive into the script. Feige is producing the pic.

Feige and Shakman now will focus on finding actors while the script is being written. MARVEL, ANNUNCIATE NUOVE DATE: COME CAMBIA IL CALENDARIO USCITE DELLA SAGA DEL MULTIVERSO?

In queste ore i Marvel Studios hanno cambiato il calendario uscite apportando numerose modifiche agli appuntamenti con i prossimi titoli del Marvel Cinematic Universe previsti per il grande schermo.

A questa nuova 'danza' di date d'uscita hanno partecipato Avengers: Secret Wars, che è passato dal 6 novembre 2025 al 1 maggio 2026, Fantastici 4, slittato dall'8 novembre 2024 al 14 febbraio 2025, Blade, rinviato al 6 settembre 2024 di quasi un anno rispetto al 3 novembre 2023 inizialmente previsto, e infine Deadpool 3, di circa due mesi dal 6 settembre 2024, infatti, bensì l'8 novembre 2024. Inoltre, sono state comunicate anche nuove date per due film Marvel senza titolo: un titolo precedentemente datato 14 febbraio 2025 è stato rinviato al 7 novembre 2025, mentre un altro precedentemente datato 1 maggio 2026 è stato per ora rimosso dal programma delle uscite.

I cambiamenti più importanti dunque riguardano la durata complessiva della Saga del Multiverso, che adesso si allungherà fino al 2026 e non terminerà nel 2025 come invece comunicato durante il Comic-Con di San Diego; di riflesso, i fan saranno costretti ad annullare l'abbuffata di titoli super-attesi che avrebbe caratterizzato il cosiddetto 'anno magico del MCU': al Comic-Con infatti venne annunciato che Fantastici 4, Avengers 5 e Avengers 6 sarebbero usciti nel giro di un anno, tra novembre 2024 e novembre 2025, ma adesso con lo slittamento di Fantastici 4 e soprattutto di Secret Wars al febbraio 2025 e al maggio 2026 bisognerà aspettare qualche mese in più.

FANTASTICI QUATTRO, TUTTI GLI ATTORI DI HOLLYWOOD STANNO ‘SBAVANDO’ PER OTTENERE DEI RUOLI NEL FILM: ‘SARÀ UN GIOIELLO’

Se stanno “sbavando” per avere un ruolo in questo film, allora figuriamoci quando arriverà il momento di rilanciare gli X-Men che altro che quattro o cinque ruoli di punta.

Forse gli X-Men sono meno ambiti, perchè hanno ben fatto breccia nell'immaginario dei fan, tanto che in molti sono refrattari anche solo all'idea di un recast, inoltre il franchise ha sempre avuto successo.
Contrariamente questo Fantastici 4 è atteso moltissimo, perché in esso sono riposte tutte le speranze di quelli che hanno sempre visto disatteso sia la capacità di successo, che la qualità e fedeltà al fumetto originario nelle versioni finora rilasciate. Sono come un diamante allo stato grezzo che non sono mai stati in grado di raffinare e far risplendere e adesso, davvero, credo che sia la possibilità ultimativa e definitiva per farcela. O ce la fanno stavolta, altrimenti per i F4 è la fine al cinema, per molti anni a questa parte. Ma sono molto fiducioso, perchè alla Marvel lo sanno perfettamente. L'unica cosa da cui non possono sfuggire, volente o nolente, è il discorso di inclusione, quindi per forza delle scelte di cast scontenteranno i fan. Credo che l'opzione latina sia quella più neutra, sarebbero considerati attori etnici, ma visivamente molto vicini all'aspetto caucasico con cui i personaggi appaiono nei fumetti.
