Feige Confirms Rumor That ‘The Eternals’ Are Getting Their Own Movie

A while ago it was revealed by our friends over at MCUCosmic that one of the new projects for Phase Four would be a solo film based on Jack Kirby’s Eternals.

Basically, the Marvel version of New Gods.

While speaking to TheWrap during yesterday’s Avengers: Infinity War junket Kevin Feige confirmed this reporting.

“‘Eternals’ is one of many many many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about to see if we believe in them enough to put them on a slate.”

When and where they’ll get this release is something unknown there is chatter that it’s already going out to screenwriters.

Marvel Sets Black List Writers for 'Eternals' Movie (Exclusive)

Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script 'Ruin' shot to the top of the 2017 Black List, have been hired to adapt the Jack Kirby-created comic book.
Marvel Studios has pinned its next potential franchise, the Jack Kirby-created title The Eternals, and is moving ahead with development.

The studio behind Avengers: Infinity War has hired writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin shot to the top of the 2017 Black List, to pen the script for the superhero team adventure.

In comics lore, the saga of the Eternals began millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered and near-immortal beings and a more monstrous off-shoot known as the Deviants. The two races moved behind the scenes throughout human history while also engaging in Game of Thrones-style cosmic powerplays.

Among the characters are Ikaris, fueled by cosmic energy; Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans; and Thena, often mistaken for the Greek goddess Athena.

Kirby created the title in 1976 during his cosmic hero stage and influenced by such as works as Chariots of the Gods, which explored ancient gods as aliens. The comic was his part of his second sojourn at Marvel, which he had left in 1970 and done the then-unthinkable, moved to rival DC Comics.

The Firpos are best known for writing Ruin, a spec script that shot to the top of the 2017 Black List. Even before that, the project was emanating enough heat that it attracted Gal Gadot and got set up at Marc Butan’s MadRiver Pictures.

Ruin tells of an ex-Nazi captain who, to atone for his crimes, hunts down and kills the members of his former SS squad.

The Firpos are repped by UTA and LBI Entertainment.

Marvel Studios' 'The Eternals' Finds Its Director With Chloe Zhao

Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script 'Ruin' topped the 2017 Black List, wrote the screenplay for the superhero team adventure.
Chloe Zhao has nabbed the gig to direct Marvel’s next potential franchise, the Jack Kirby-created title The Eternals.

Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin topped the 2017 Black List, penned the script for the superhero team adventure.

The project features the super-powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals and a more monstrous off-shoot known as the Deviants that were created by cosmic beings known as Celestials.

Kirby created the title in 1976 during his cosmic hero stage and was influenced by such works as Chariots of the Gods, which explored ancient gods as aliens.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that one aspect to the story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.

The project also allows Marvel to assemble a diverse cast of various shapes and sizes.

The director search for Eternals narrowed in the last few weeks of summer, with a shortlist consisting of Watchmen pilot helmer Nicole Kassell, Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings), as well as Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra, the duo behind Colombian movie Birds of Passage.

Chinese-born Zhao was already well known to Marvel as she went down the road with the company on Black Widow, the standalone featuring Scarlett Johansson's spy heroine. That gig ultimately went to Cate Shortland.

Eternals is a big opportunity for WME-repped Zhao, who will be going from the settings of Native American reservations and American Heartland from her indie festival darlings The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me to the epic global, if not intergalactic, scale of this Marvel project.

Marvel had no comment.

Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’ Directed By Chloe Zhao Expected To Film At Pinewood Studios UK – Stars Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden

The next new Marvel Studios film franchise will be based on the Jack Kirby characters The Eternals and we now have a better idea where the comic book film will be shooting in the United Kingdom.

HN Entertainment has now learned that The Eternals is expected to primarily film at Pinewood Studios UK in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England.

The famous British stage location best known for Bond and Star Wars productions is currently being used for Cate Shortland’s Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, and O-T Fagbenle.

The Eternals directed by Chloe Zhao will reportedly star Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden (The Bodyguard, Game of Thrones, Rocketman), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, Men In Black: International, Silicon Valley, Stuber), and South Korean actor Dong-seok Ma (Train To Busan). Trades are reporting that Madden will play Ikaris and Jolie will play future Avenger member Sersi.

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the comic book is set millions of years in the past, when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans to create super-powered individuals known as the Eternals, along with the villainous Deviants. The two groups battled each other throughout history. The Eternals also warred with Greek, Roman and Norse deities before leaving Earth to explore the stars.

Its script was penned by Ryan Firpo and Matt Firpo, who also wrote Margot Robbie’s upcoming Nazi-hunting thriller Ruin that will be directed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed).

Filming is expected to begin this September.

A release date for The Eternals has yet to be made official by Marvel Studios, but there is a strong chance that it will land the November 6th, 2020 spot given late 2019 shoot.

Keanu Reeves is Being Sought For a Role in ‘The Eternals’ (Exclusive)

If you’ve followed MCU Cosmic over the last year, you’ll know this site has been on top of The Eternals since the very beginning when the news first broke of Marvel’s newest franchise. Now I have a small bit of news about that movie, from the same reliable source who first told me of The Eternals (and other things that have come true).

Keanu Reeves is being sought for a role in The Eternals, and negotiations are apparently underway already. He’s not signed yet and this is all still early, and I don’t know what role he’s being considered for.

I usually don’t bother with casting scoops, but given this source I’m confident in putting this out there. Again, it’s still early and sounds like negotiations are pretty recent. Still, I know Marvel fans have dreamed of seeing Keanu show up in the MCU (there’s fan art out there of him as Wolverine), and I personally thought he’d make a great Silver Surfer; but it seems like The Eternals is where he may end up.

If things work out, and he does end up in the movie, then The Eternals is shaping up to have a pretty strong cast that already includes Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden.
Dal sito The GWW:

The upcoming Marvel Studios film ‘The Eternals’ now has production designer Eve Stewart onboard.

Stewart recently did Fede Alvarez’ ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’ and Gore Verbinski’s ‘A Cure for Wellness.’ She has also collaborated with director Tom Hooper several times, with ‘The King’s Speech,’ ‘Les Misérables,’ and ‘The Danish Girl.’ Next up is Hooper’s live-action adaptation of ‘Cats,’ releasing December 20th.

Moreover, the speculation going around is that Angelina Jolie will play Sersi. Meanwhile, Kumail Nanjiani and Ma Dong-seok are cast in undisclosed roles. Richard Madden is in talks to play Ikaris. Lastly, Keanu Reeves in negotiations for an unknown role.

Some of the premise, given by The Hollywood Reporter, is below:
“One aspect to the story involves the love story between Ikaris (Madden), a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi (Jolie), who relishes moving amongst humans.”
Meanwhile, according to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios is also looking to cast an openly gay Asian male actor for a lead role. The role is under the name of James, who is “intellectual, emotional, and has a strong sense of family.” Specifically, the studio is looking at openly gay/bisexual Asian actors in their 20’s.

This role will mark the first time Marvel Studios will feature an openly gay male as a lead. This character will likely have a major presence in the film alongside the other leads: Sersi, Ikaris and “Piper.” As for actors, at the top of Marvel’s list for the role is Conrad Ricamora (‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,’ ‘How to Get Away with Murder’).

Moreover, Chloé Zhao (‘The Rider’) will be directing, while the screenplay is from Matthew K. Firpo & Ryan Firpo (‘Ruin’).

Also, for a different role, Zhao has interest in casting Cameron Britton (‘Mindhunter,’ ‘The Umbrella Academy’). Additionally, Tomasz Kot (‘Cold War’) could nab a supporting role in the film, one that requires an imposing physical presence. However, no offers have been made to either of these actors as of now.

Further, filming will begin in the United Kingdom on September 16th, and wrap sometime in January 2020.

There is currently no release date yet, but it will most likely claim the November 6, 2020 slot.

Editor Craig Wood (‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’) has joined the crew for Marvel’s ‘THE ETERNALS’. (EXCLUSIVE)

Salma Hayek Being Eyed For A Role In Marvel Studios’ ‘The Eternals’

Marvel Studios’ most obscure project yet is not having any trouble getting big name stars to board the project, as Salma Hayek is reportedly in talks for a role in The Eternals.

According to TheWrap, character details are being kept under wraps.

Hayek would join a cast that includes Angelina Jolie – who is still in talks according to industry insiders, who is said to be playing Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, as well as Kumail Nanjiani and Ma Dong-seok — both in undisclosed roles. Keanu Reeves was also rumored for a role a couple of weeks back, but Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige has since said that Reeves is always looked at for roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Details about the film are still tightly under wraps. However, we do know that it will center on the Jack Kirby-created comic, The Eternals. The storyline follows super- powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals. They battle with a more monstrous offshoot known as the Deviants. Deviants arose at the hands of the cosmic beings called Celestials (a race featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy films).

Chloe Zhao, an award-winning indie director behind the critical hits The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me, will helm from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

Filming on The Eternals is expected to begin later this year after Black Widow wraps production.

SDCC 2019: Marvel Studios' 'The Eternals' Announced

In theaters November 6, 2020.

Today at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Marvel Studios took to the stage in Hall H to reveal the upcoming movies and TV shows from the studio – including the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what’s planned for Disney+.

Feige kicked off with an overview of the feature film Marvel Studios' The Eternals, an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige introduced the director, Chloé Zhao, followed by stars from the film, including Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

The Eternals will make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in theaters on November 6, 2020.

‘The Eternals’ Adds ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington, Confirms Gemma Chan [D23]

The Eternals will continue to expand the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it arrives in theaters in the fall of 2020. The Marvel Studios movie will dig into the history of the universe by following super-powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals as they try to keep Earth save from a more monstrous off-shoot known as the Deviants, both sects of powerful warriors created by the cosmic beings known as Celestials. But we learned a bit more about the project at The D23 Expo, including the confirmation of three new cast members.

Production has not yet begun on The Eternals, so there was no footage to share with the D23 crowd. However, Marvel’s Kevin Feige did invite the entire cast on stage and confirmed a handful of new cast members. Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who was reported to be joining the MCU yesterday, has joined the cast. Harington will play Dane Whitman, AKA Black Knight, a hero who inherits his evil uncle’s estate, obtains a mystical sword, and decides to use his newfound powers for good instead of evil.

Also confirmed: Gemma Chan has joined the cast, but she will not be reprising her minor Captain Marvel role. She will play Sersi, one of the Eternals, which will surely prove to be a juicier role. The final new reveal was the casting of Barry Keoghan as Druig, another member of the Eternals. Keoghan is a rising actor whose best known roles include Dunkirk and Chernobyl.

The Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao will focus on the characters Ikaris (Richard Madden), Thena (Angelina Jolie), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Gilgamesh (Don Lee), and Ajak (Salma Hayek), who is a mother figure for the team. They’ve been on Earth for 35,000 years, so there are plenty of stories that can be told that will expand the scope and reach of the MCU.

Speaking with briefly after the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige added:

“It will be a story that will introduce you to this incredibly eclectic group of immortals, they’re the focus of the story,” Feige admits. “It takes place in our universe — it takes place in the MCU, so you’ll hear mentions and stuff about it but yes, the Celestials go back a long way. We know a little bit about them. The Collector told us about Celestials, Knowhere is the severed head of a Celestial. Ego was involved with them, but we learn much more about their agenda and what they’ve been up to.”

First-look at Angelina Jolie's Thena thanks to new on-set pics

Leaked photos of Angelina Jolie filming scenes for Marvel’s Eternals in the UK have hit the internet, giving fans their first real look at Jolie’s Thena.

The pictures show Jolie sporting a blonde wig (giving us total Gone in 60 Seconds throwbacks) as she wades into a lake to scatter some ashes. Check out the pics on Twitter below!

So many questions… like whose ashes are those?

Marvel’s Eternals is set for release on November 6, 2020, and will star Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Ma-Dong Seok, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan and of course, Angelina Jolie.

Jolie (who recently expressed an interest in joining the Star Wars franchise, too) is playing Thena, a member of the MCU’s Eternals; a race of superhumans sworn to protect humanity from their evil counterparts the Deviants.

One Eternals Location is Babylon in 800BC

We know The Eternals have been on Earth for 35,000 years hidden from the public and that means the movie will be an epic spanning the ancient history of the MCU. Now we know one location we’ll see.

There have been sets being built in the Canary Island that had features of ancient Babylon, and now that appears to be confirmed. Lauren Ridloff posted a tease of one of Makkari’s costumes on her Instagram story, and in the background you can see “Babylon 800BC” labeling artwork on the walls:

So one location will be the MCU 2800 years ago, and it makes you wonder what other ancient locations we’ll see to fill in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in next year’s The Eternals.

Kevin Feige Talks Thanos In ‘Eternals’, Teases Next Event Film & Disney+ Shows Will Be The First To Interlink With MCU

After the Marvel Studios presentation at CCXP 2019 in Brazil, Kevin Feige sat down with Brazilian outlet Omelete for an on-camera interview where he gave some more details about Eternals.

FEGIE: “After [Avengers: Endgame], did anybody see Endgame [looks around to the crowd to cheers]? Okay, good.”

We wanted to do something different the MCU is about growing and evolving. And you look at the amazing work that the artists and writers, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby everybody has done over 80 years in the comics there are so many more stories to tell.

“And Jack Kirby created these characters The Eternals, an epic that spans 7,000 years of human history has cosmic connotations, changes everything we know about the MCU and that is what we wanted to do along with Black Widow for the beginning of Phase 4 to add something totally new, totally different as we keep going to new places.”

Kevin also confirmed that we’ll see Mesopotamia in the film as well, which would explain the Babylon set.

FEIGE: “To present-day to Mesopotamia to all sorts of locations and time periods and really feels like nothing we’ve done before and I’m glad that Brazil got that first look anywhere of that footage.”

When asked if we would eventually see a new Thanos, Kevin responded with a tease that they’re working up to the next big crossover event film which is already in some form of development.

FEIGE: “The MCU is connected but we really only focus on one movie at a time. We’re going to make the best Black Widow we can possibly make the best Eternals we can make the next [is] Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, right? And keep evolving their stories and seeing them come together in a master plan. Which I promise you is well underway.”

Also, he says that The Eternals are aware of The Avengers, and suggests they’ll eventually bump into each other.

FEIGE: “The Eternals know the existence of the Avengers, The Avengers don’t know much about The Eternals, yet.”

When asked about The Deviants Kevin says they’ll be taking a slightly different route with them.

FEIGE: “Deviants are in the film…we’ll see Deviants that will look unlike any Deviants you’ve seen in the comics. This is a new form of Deviants we’re revealing in the movie.”

He was also coy about saying if Thanos would be appearing in the film/franchise (it’s unlikely outside of flashbacks) and sort of gives the impression they’ll be focusing on the new characters.

FEIGE: “Thanos in the comics was an Eternal on Titan, there may be connections but really this about new ten characters that are played by an incredible group of actors that we’re focusing on.”

While hyping up the Disney+ shows, Feige seemingly suggests that their shows will be the first official MCU television shows which seemingly dismisses whatever Marvel Television had been doing before Kevin took over the reins from Jeph Loeb as they didn’t really interlink like these upcoming shows.

FEIGE: “…after Endgame thinking what can we do next…Disney+, which is coming to Brazil later next year, is going to give us this opportunity to tell even deeper stories on characters that you already love…in a new type of a cinematic way that we haven’t done before we’ve already started shooting two of them and they’re very special.

“And for the first time will all interlink, so the MCU will be on your TV screen at home on Disney+ and interact with the movies and move back and forth. It’s exciting to expand the MCU to bigger and better heights. “

This wouldn’t be a hard thing to swallow given that none of the shows from Marvel Television has really ever impacted the movies and Feige (now overseeing film and television at Marvel as chief creative officer) is potentially removing the Loeb era of shows (most are being cancelled) to make way for his own hard-canon series instead.

We Saw the First ‘Eternals’ Footage and Glimpsed the Future of the MCU

With Avengers: Endgame behind us, the future of the MCU is more a mystery than ever. Most of our original heroes are out of the game, and while there’s a thriving younger generation in Spider-Man, Black Panther and Captain Marvel to keep the fires lit, the MCU is on track to continue building their cosmic universe with the arrival of Chloé Zhao‘s Eternals.

Marvel Studios boss and MCU mastermind Kevin Feige took the stage at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil and gave the ecstatic audience a first look at the upcoming superhero epic, which stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Bryan Tyree Henry as Phastos, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Barry Keoghan as Druig — god-like cosmic beings, all of them.

Feige described the presentation as “raw footage” pulled straight from the camera and said it was exclusive for audiences at the con. So what did we see? Well, it sure went by fast but it was pretty spectacular-looking so I’ll do my darndest to sum it up.

The footage began with a shot of Keoghan’s Druig walking out of a door straight into the assembled Eternals, all costumed up in their mythological-looking armor. From there, we got a tapestry of snippets that showed the various Eternals in different locations, showcasing the film’s diversity and international casting.

We got some gorgeous close-up shots of Jolie back in blonde, decked out in her white costume. In one shot, she grins — though we have no context why. We also caught a peak at Ajak in action and a sighting of some kind of monstrous army (the Deviants, or just another classic MCU monster army? TBD.)

We also saw what seems to be a romance between Chan’s Sersi and Madden’s Ikarus, holding hands in some sort of fountain-like structure and standing together in a field. We saw Hayek’s Ajak riding a horse in the countryside, heading towards an isolated farmhouse on the horizon. We saw Nanjiani’s Kingo, decked out in colorful garb and makeup, danging, surrounded by ensemble dancers in a seemingly Bollywood-inspired scene. We see Druig standing beside a giant temple in glowing orange light (there’s a lot of temple stuff in the footage, giving the whole thing an appropriately mythological feel.

Not much in the way of dialogue in this footage, but we did hear Hayek’s Ajak say, “These people have changed all of us. We must protect them,” before seeing the costumed heroes slowly take flight into the air. In the end, hieroglyph-marked glowing gold lines merge to form the Eternals logo.

Overall, Zhao’s camerawork looks absolutely stunning, rich with color and depth, and the costumes are a visual feast in their own right. As someone who’s very new to the mythology of The Eternals, this footage instantly caught my eye and got me immediately excited for the project, which looks visually more distinct than most MCU entries.

After the footage, Feige teased that Eternals is going to be “unlike anything you’ve ever seen before” and “What’s going to happen to redefine and change the MCU in Phase Four.”

An Eternals Love Triangle is Confirmed

Ever since the first footage of Eternals was shown at CCXP in Brazil back in December, rumors surfaced that the movie would involve a love triangle between three characters. The CCXP footage hinted that Ikaris and Sersi had a history together, and then we saw Sersi and Dane kissing in set photos during the filming in London. Now that love triangle is confirmed.

In an interview with Vanity Fair Italia, Gemma Chan says Sersi is involved with two love stories in the movie:

“Sersi is the one that has the most affinity with humans, indeed she is even involved in two love stories, an absolute novelty for Marvel events and one of the reasons that attracted me of this project.”

Even though Sersi and Dane are the two lead characters, the upcoming trailer for the movie will apparently feature a lot of footage of Ikaris and Thena as they’re the biggest starts in the ensemble cast.

Sersi and Black Knight Confirmed to be the Leads of The Eternals

It’s been suspected for a long time, but now there appears to be confirmation of who exactly the two lead characters in the story of The Eternals will be. Even though it’s an ensemble cast, the story will focus on two specific characters and we know who they are now.

According to a post earlier this week by Daniel Richtman, the two leads in the movie were confirmed to be Sersi and Black Knight to people who visited the set prior to the end of production. If you remember the set photos that leaked from the London filming, it’s a love story between the immortal Eternal Sersi and the human Dane Whitman (also known as Black Knight). The two characters have a long history together in the comics and were very prominent members of The Avengers in the early 90s, so this news shouldn’t shock those who are familiar with the original versions of the two.

A love story between a human and an Eternal was also part of the Jack Kirby run, where Margo Damian met Ikaris. In the MCU version, Dan Whitman is taking on the human role that Margo Damian played in the comic (and there are rumors he’s an archeologist as well), while Sersi is the Eternal he falls in love with.

Of course this brings up the question of how the MCU Ikaris fits into all of this as they cast Richard Madden in the role, and the footage screened at CCXP back in December seems to indicate that he and Sersi have a history together, much like in the comics as well. That could lead to a love triangle between Black Knight, Ikaris, and Sersi, giving some more drama to the epic that will tell a story over thousands of years.

This news might be disappointing for some fans who were hoping for a bigger role for Ikaris, but it’s clear that Marvel sees this as a potential franchise so it won’t be the last we see of The Eternals in the MCU.

Brian Tyree Henry’s Phastos is Eternals’ Openly Gay Hero

Last summer, Kevin Feige announced that Marvel would continue its push toward diversity on the big screen by featuring an openly gay character in the upcoming Eternals movie. Marvel has been keeping the identity of this character under wraps. But in a new interview with Logo, Haaz Sleiman revealed his involvement in the film, Sleiman also shared that he’s playing the husband of Brian Tyree Henry’s character, the Eternal known as Phastos.

Sleiman didn’t say whether his character is mortal or if he has powers like his onscreen husband. Regardless, he did confirm what Feige told fans almost a year ago, which is that Phastos and his husband are raising a child together. Sleiman also promised that one scene in Eternals shows the couple kissing.

“For me it’s very important to show how loving and beautiful a queer family can be,” said Sleiman. “Brian Tyree Henry is such a tremendous actor and brought so much beauty into this part, and at one point I saw a child in his eyes, and I think it’s important for the world to be reminded that we in the queer community were all children at one point. We forget that because we’re always depicted as sexual or rebellious. We forget to connect on that human part.”

Earlier this week, Taika Waititi reiterated his openness to exploring Valkyrie’s sexuality in Thor: Love and Thunder next year. However, Waititi also said this will ultimately be Marvel’s call to make.

Rumor: We Will See Atlantis in Eternals

Phase 4 is kicking off a whole new era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there are going to be a lot of new characters introduced to audiences. It’s been long rumored that we’d see Namor pop up in the MCU, and many believe it’ll be in Black Panther II, but if you’ve watched the Infinity Saga; you’ll know how Marvel likes to set things up far in advance.

The Super Soldier Serum was introduced in The Incredible Hulk before we saw Captain America: The First Avenger. That movie then introduced the concept of Vibranium, before Wakanda was named in Avengers: Age of Ultron (before that it was seen on a map in Iron Man 2).

Much like the early references to Wakanda, a new rumor says we’ll get a nod to Namor in Eternals. The rumor says that at some point in the movie (possibly a montage or something) we’ll see the sinking of Atlantis on screen.

Eternals is set over 35,000 years in the MCU, and we already know that we’ll be seeing ancient Babylon in the movie. If we’re going that far back in the past of the MCU, it’s the perfect opportunity for them to show something like Atlantis sinking, which would of course be a big setup to introducing Namor for a bigger role in the future.

Four Eternals LEGO Sets Are Scheduled For October

Even though Eternals has been delayed until February of 2021, it looks like the merchandise is still scheduled for release later in the fall before the movie’s original release date. We’ve already heard some information about the Funko Pops, and now information about the LEGO sets have surfaced.

While Black Widow only has one LEGO set tied to the movie (the helicopter chase set that’s in stores now), Eternals will have four sets. According to the site Promo Bricks, there are four set for October. One set at $10, another at $20, a $60 set, and finally a big $100 set.

Eternals has always been positioned as a new MCU franchise for Marvel Studios, and the movie is obviously going to be pretty epic if there’s enough material for four LEGO sets. This is similar in scale to Avengers: Endgame, which launched five sets last spring prior to the finale of the Infinity Saga.

As of right now there aren’t any details about what these four sets might be, but that sort of information will likely be leaking sooner rather than later.
