La Marvel a ottobre al New York Comic Con annuncerà un progetto speciale a cartoni animati con protagonista Captain Marvel.

Da Newsrama:

And wrapping up with a last question: Will there be a season of Captain Marvel to tie in with the upcoming film? Lane said there are some "special plans" for her that will be announced in October.

Da Polygon:

Marvel Animation VP on possibility of Captain Marvel getting her own show

The division is committed to shows targeted at young girls

With Marvel’s Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel Animation is clearly working with the company’s film division to bring some of the biggest stories to the small screen.

Marvel Animation had been working on its own version of Guardians of the Galaxy before the feature-length live-action movie premiered in 2014. Marvel’s Spider-Man, the division’s new animated show, is being released in the same summer Spider-Man returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his first feature-length movie under the studio’s control, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Black Panther, Doctor Strange and other heroes are all possibilities, but what about Captain Marvel? Does the animation division have plans to bring a woman-focused story to Disney’s networks?

“I can’t answer that question, but it is a possibility,” Cort Lane, Marvel Animation’s senior vice president, told Polygon.

“WE ARE COMMITTED TO DOING SOMETHING SPECIFICALLY FOR THE GIRL AUDIENCE”
Lane, who laughed and said he wished he could give a less corporate-sounding answer, paused for a second before getting more into how Marvel Animation sees its large female audience. Young girls responded incredibly well in focus groups to both Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Marvel knows how important girls and women are to the company.

“We know that we have great opportunities with the girl audience,” Lane said. “We know that a large portion of our live-action film audience is female. We know that girls in particular really enjoy the new Spider-Man show in testing, higher than anything we’ve ever done, but we also know we can do more.

“We are committed to doing something specifically for the girl audience.”

Lane’s comments seem to suggest that a Captain Marvel animated series is in development, but don’t expect a formal announcement anytime soon. Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios’ live-action movie that stars Brie Larson as the title character, isn’t due out until March 2019. If the animation and film divisions continue to work alongside each other like they have with Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy, there is still some time for Marvel Animation to figure out key details before bringing it up.

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel will be released on March 8, 2019.
