Va bene, non critichiamo il film su Crudelia... però se volessero davvero fare un film su un cattivo perché non pensano a Barbablu o Tremotino? dato che in animazione la vediamo dura che li facciano, perché non farli live action?

perchè non sono famosi... ormai si punta sempre su qualcosa di già conosciuto! E i Disney villains sono famosi tanto quanto i film in cui compaiono...

Diciamollo tutto Glenn Close è stata fantastica ma il film proprio non mi è piaciuto per niente sopratutto Gasparre e Orazioli ho trovati del tutto assenti. Comunque il mito di Crudelia è ancora in auge adesso

La Disney ingaggia uno sceneggiatore per il film su Crudelia De Mon

La Walt Disney Pictures sta dando priorità al già annunciato film in live-action sul personaggio di Crudelia De Mon, rivela il sito The Hollyood Reporter.

Stando a THR, lo studio avrebbe ingaggiato Kelly Marcel (Cinquanta sfumature di grigio) per scrivere la pellicola. La Disney vuole che il progetto vada in porto presto e che possa uscire dopo La Bella e la Bestia. Per ora non c'è ancora una data di uscita ufficiale per il progetto.

Pensiamo che abbiano accennato a 50 sfumature anziché a Saving Mr Banks perché il film 50 sfumature è più famoso nel panorama "fuori Disney"...

Mi spiace di aver giudicato frettolosamente la sceneggiatrice (anche perchè non sapevo che era la stessa di "Saving Mr. Banks"), evidentemente da "50 sfumature" non ci ha cavato nulla di buono perchè era già il materiale di partenza ad essere tarlato (libro da cui è un miracolo trarre qualcosa di decente).

Se non sbaglio ci furono anche diversi interventi dell'autrice del libro sia sullo script sia sul montaggio di quel film.
Purtroppo alcuni giornalisti, forse per ignoranza, hanno l'abitudine di citare solo l'opera più famosa o più recente di un artista.

Più volte la Marcel ha sottolineato che quella di 50 sfumature è stata una esperienza terribile a causa dell'ingerenza dell'autrice che, non a caso, scriverà lei il secondo film con la regia (pare) di suo marito...

Non pensavo che l'ingerenza della "scrittrice"sia stata così tanta che la Marcel ha pure rifiutato la visione. Anche perchè, da quel che dite, nei fatti la vera sceneggiatrice del "film" è stata l'autrice stessa e non la Marcel che ha pure avuto la beffa di essere accreditata a quel solo progetto.

Emma Stone in talks to star in Disney’s live-action Cruella de Vil movie

Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man films) is in early negotiations to play the iconic 101 Dalmations villainess Cruella de Vil in the live-action Cruella movie, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The trade says that Kelly Marcel is writing the script for The Walt Disney Studios film, which is intended to be an origin story of the character. Aline Brosh McKenna worked on an early version of the script. Andrew Gunn is producing the movie, while Kristin Burr and Jessica Virtue are overseeing for the studio.

The project does not have a director attached yet, but the goal is to start shooting later this year.

Cruella de Vil was the villain of the 1961 animated classic and has since been played by Glenn Close in the 1996 live-action movie 101 Dalmations and in its 2000 sequel, 102 Dalmations.

The character originated in Dodie Smith’s 1956 book, “The Hundred and One Dalmatians.” Smith also briefly revisited the character in her lesser-known science fiction sequel book, “The Starlight Barking.”

Confermata ufficialmente la lavorazione del film. Sarà Emma Stone a interpretare la protagonista e Kelly Marcel firma la sceneggiatura.

London likely location for Disney’s Cruella

Disney’s forthcoming film Cruella, a punk-era re-imagining of the classic tale, is set to star Emma Stone as the wicked Cruella de Vil. The feature’s producer, the Canadian Andrew Gunn, is currently in London to scout potential locations.

Seasoned UK playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth (Jerusalem), has been brought in to carry out a few tweaks on the screenplay. The blueprint of the script comes from Kelly Marcel, well known for Fifty Shades of Grey and Saving Mr Banks.

Marcel – along with Steve Zissis – worked on the original story concept, which re-imagines the iconic Cruella, in the words of Gunn, “as a kind of Vivienne Westwood - if Vivienne was really, really mean - meets John Galliano, meets Alexander McQueen”.

The producer is currently in the UK’s capital to scout potential locations for the film, which is set in 1979 when the punk era was in full swing.

Talking to The Knowledge, Gunn said: “Butterworth is ideal for the job, not just for ironing out the screenplay, but also for suggesting possible filming spots in London, particularly as he knew personally some of the punk crowd including Malcolm McLaren.”

He agreed that the writer’s knowledge of the capital was key, adding: “It’s great, as we didn’t really yet have a sense of place, and Jez has been giving us ideas of locations, such as where Cruella’s apartment could be, where her warehouse may be etc.”

Gunn also said the UK provides a great pool of talented crew.

There is no director on board yet, but there is a shortlist with an appointment likely to be made very soon. The window for filming is fairly tight due to Emma Stone’s availability: shooting would have to slot in between October and January with pre-production getting underway this summer.

Trovato il probabile regista, Alex Timbers, autore di noti musical e della premiata serie TV musicale Mozart of the Jungle...Non a caso, perché Cruella sarà ambientato nei ruspanti anni '80 ed il film avrà una "forte sensibilità modaiola e musicale"...Interessante davvero, anche perché la Stone proprio con un musical (La La Land) è papabilissima di Oscar tra pochi mesi, oltre che a diventare un nome fortissimo su cui puntare per la promozione del film (un po' come fu Angelina Jolie e la sua Maleficent).

Disney's Live-Action 'Cruella' Finds Director

Emma Stone is attached to star in the origin story of the Dalmatians-obessed villain first seen in '101 Dalmatians.'
Mozart of the Jungle co-creator and theater director Alex Timbers is in negotiations to helm Cruella, Disney’s live-action re-imagining of the 101 Dalmatians character that will star Emma Stone.

Stone will play infamous villain Cruella De Vil in what is being billed as an origin story, set in the 1980s.

De Vil was first seen in the 1961 animated classic. Glenn Close played her in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes that featured the character as the head of a fashion house.

Marc Platt is set to produce, along with Andrew Gunn. Kristin Burr and Jessica Virtue are overseeing for the studio.

Cruella is described as having both strong fashion and music sensibilities, something that seems to be a natural fit for Timbers.

He is a two-time Tony-nominee for directing Peter and the Star Catcher (a Peter Pan prequel) and directing and writing the book for the rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. He also directed the Broadway musical adaptation of Rocky and the HBO special The Pee-Wee Herman Show.

Timbers, along with Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman, created Mozart, Amazon’s dramatic comedy about the effects of a new maestro coming on to the New York Symphony has on various characters. It won the Golden Globe for best television series in the musical and comedy category earlier this year.
