Marvel Developing ANT-MAN And ROCKET & GROOT Animated Shorts

Marvel is currently developing two animated short series for Ant-Man and the two fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. What other characters should receive similar treatment?

Seeking to take advantage of tax breaks in France, Marvel has commissioned two animated short series for Ant-Man and Rocket Raccoon & Groot. No official word yet but it's likely these shorts will debut as part of the Disney XD's Marvel Universe programming block that already includes Marvel's Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ultimate Spider-Man.

French directors Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach will team to tackle Ant-Man while Arnaud Delord will handle the Rocket & Groot shorts. What's your take on these kinds of projects. A while back, Cartoon Network did something similar with its DC Nation Shorts. Eventually, this type of programming could be used to highlight some lesser known characters in the Marvel catalog.

A quanto pare la Marve.l sta programmando nuovi progetti per il futuro e alcuni di questi torneranno ad avere protagonisti personaggi amati dell’universo Marvel. Molti studi d’animazioni stanno andando in Francia per lavorare ai progetti, tra cui Paramount, DreamWorks, Disney TV e Marvel Animation. Il tutto è il risultato di nuovi crediti di imposta offerti falla commissione cinematografica francese. Film France ha pubblicato una lista di diciannove progetti che verranno sviluppati in Francia. Su questa lista ci sono due “Marvel Animation TV Shorts Series,” Ant-Man, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. Ant-Man viene dai registi Ugo Beinvenu and Kevin Manach. I due hanno lavorato insieme ad altri cortometraggi d’animazioni popolari. Rocket Raccoon and Groot sarà diretto da Arnaud Delord. Ancora non si sa nulla su come o quando questi progetti verranno distribuiti.

Al New York Comic Con è stato rivelato che nella serie di cortometraggi ci sarà anche Wasp.

Ant-Man sarà Scott Lang e Wasp sarà Hope Pym. I loro doppiatori sono Josh Keaton e Melissa Rauch.

Marvel will also be doing some shorts with Passion Pictures featuring Rocket Racoon, as well as Ant-Man shorts for Disney XD. "Not only are they funny and quirky and a bit retro, but we also have a fantastic voice cast," Lane said, featuring Josh Keaton as Ant-Man (Scott Lang) and Melissa Rauch as the Wasp (Hope Pym).

NYCC: Ant-Man and The Wasp Animated Shorts Coming to Disney XD Next Year

On Saturday, during the Marvel Television Animation Panel at New York Comic-Con, it was announced that an all-new animated series called Marvel’s Spider-Man and Hayley Atwell is coming back to voice Agent Carter on Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars.

Cort Lane, SVP Marvel Animation and Family Entertainment, also shared the exciting news that fans will soon get to enjoy Ant-Man and the Wasp together in the Ant-Man animated shorts coming next year to Disney XD! Created by Passion Pictures and directed by French duo Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach, fans will see the pair like never seen them before. Ant-Man will be voiced by Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Transformers Prime) and the Wasp will be voiced by Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory, The Bronze).

Furthermore, Lane used the word "retro" to describe the series of shorts, so I assume we'll get to see Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp, carrying out dangerous and covert missions during the Cold War.

2015's Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and Evangeline Lilly, was a huge success for Marvel Studios, earning $180.2 million domestically and $339.2 million internationally for a global total of $519.4 million.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to crawl into theaters July 6, 2018.
