Mah!

Indiana Jones 5 Start Date Confirmed by Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford confirms production start date for Indiana Jones 5

Earlier this month, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the long-in development fifth installment to the blockbuster Indiana Jones franchise will be a continuation from the previous films, featuring the return of Harrison Ford as the titular adventurous archaeologist. In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Academy Award-nominated actor has finally opened up about his involvement in Indiana Jones 5, revealing that the film will soon start its production in two months just in time for its scheduled July 9, 2021 release.

“I’m always delighted to come back to these characters,” Ford said. “You know, when we have the opportunity to make another it’s because people have enjoyed them. I feel obliged to make sure that our efforts are as ambitious as they were when we started. You have a sense of responsibility to your customers.”

He added, “[I think] of the people that go to my movies more as customers than I do as fans. Fans feels kind of weird to me, but always has. But the fact that these people support my business and I’m responsible to them for the quality of the service that I offer, that feels better to me.”

Indiana Jones 5 has been in development since 2016 with Steven Spielberg, who directed all of the previous Indiana Jones film, is expected to helm the newest installment from a script written by David Koepp.

Famed archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was introduced in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The four films have brought in nearly $2 billion at the global box office.

Indiana Jones 5: Frank Marshall Talks Status of James Mangold’s Sequel

Last February, Harrison Ford confirmed that production on the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 would be starting in a few months. However, plans quickly changed when it was suddenly announced that long-time Indiana Jones helmer Steven Spielberg had departed the project as the director with James Mangold (Logan) in negotiations to replace him. That’s why, many are wondering if this major setback could again delay the progress of Lucasfilm’s long-in development fifth installment.

Now, producer Frank Marshall has finally opened up about the project by revealing the current status. Speaking with Collider, Marshall has confirmed that James Mangold will indeed be taking over the directorial duties for Indiana Jones 5 and that they’ve just started writing on the script which is now under Mangold’s new creative direction.

“His love of the franchise. He’s a wonderful filmmaker. I think he also has a relationship with Harrison. It was all of the right pieces coming together, at the right time.” the producer said on why Mangold was the best choice for the project.

He also addressed on when production will finally be able to begin especially given the world’s current situation right now. “The number one thing, obviously, is the safety of everybody – the cast, the crew, and all of us. So, we’re looking at the guidelines that are coming slowly, from the health experts and the studios and the different parts of the business, and we’re just trying to incorporate everything, so we can move forward and be safe. It’s going to obviously slow things down, so we’re trying to adjust. You won’t see a lot of big crowd scenes, for example, for awhile. There won’t be any more craft service, so maybe that’ll be good for people, in keeping more fit. It’s a moving target right now. There are a lot of people working on the solutions, to be able to work and be safe.

It was announced in February that Steven Spielberg, who directed all of the previous Indiana Jones films, had exited the project as director but will remain as a producer, which is when negotiations with James Mangold to take over began.

Indiana Jones 5 has been in development since 2016 with Spielberg and Ford returning in their respective roles and an original theatrical release date set for July 19, 2019, but was constantly pushed back after multiple rewrites came from Jonathan Kasdan, son of Raiders of the Lost Ark writer Lawrence after original writer David Koepp exited the project.

Before Spielberg gave up his directing duties, the film was previously scheduled to begin its production within 2020. However, due to Spielberg’s exit and the ongoing global pandemic, production has been delayed to a much later date. The highly-anticipated sequel is now scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Joins Cast for Indiana Jones 5!

As the film gears up for production in a few months, the cast for the long-awaited fifth and final installment in the Harrison Ford-led Indiana Jones franchise has expanded with the addition of three-time Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve)!

“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers,” director James Mangold said in a statement. “Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

In addition to casting Waller-Bridge, it’s been confirmed that John Williams will return to score the film, continuing a musical journey which began 40 years ago with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Williams’ unforgettable Indy soundtracks, packed with all the epic thrills, suspense, romance and excitement that fans have come to expect from an Indiana Jones movie, have become as beloved and familiar as the adventurer-hero’s signature hat and whip.

The project marks the latest collaboration between Waller-Bridge and Lucasfilm, with the multi-hyphenate award winner previously starring in Solo: A Star Wars Story as L3-37, the droid companion to Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian in the film.

The currently untitled fifth Indiana Jones film will see James Mangold (Ford v. Ferrari) in the director’s chair and Kathleen Kennedy, original franchise director Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel all set to produce. Filming is currently expected to begin in July and the film is slated for a theatrical release on July 29, 2022.

‘Indiana Jones 5’: Mads Mikkelsen Joins Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge In Sequel

EXCLUSIVE: Following the news that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had landed the female lead in the next Indiana Jones movie, Lucasfilm has found Harrison Ford’s next co-star in Mads Mikkelsen, who is set to join the next installment. James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who still is serving as a producer and is very much involved in various elements of the film. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise including its iconic theme, also will return as composer.

The hope is to start production this summer, with Mangold meeting with other talent for other roles in preparation for production. Plot details are still vague on what new adventure awaits Jones, as are details behind who Mikkelsen will play. The film is set to bow on July 29, 2022.

The film marks another major franchise Mikkelsen is boarding after coming on to the Fantastic Beasts movies; he replaces Johnny Depp as Grindelwald after Depp parted ways with the part earlier this year following his recent legal troubles.

Mikkelsen is also coming off some of the best reviews of his career in the Danish film Another Round, which earned a handful of Oscar nominations including Best International Feature and Best Director. At the BAFTAs, where Mikkelsen was nominated for best actor, the film took home the award for Best Film Not in the English Language. Next up for him is the Riders of Justice.

He is repped by UTA and Art Management.

Thomas Kretschmann Cast in ‘Indiana Jones 5’

The cast for Indiana Jones 5 continues to grow!

According to The Wrap, Thomas Kretschmann has joined Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mads Mikkelsen in the next installment of the Lucasfilm franchise. Like Waller-Bridge and Mikkelsen, his role is being kept under wraps at this point. Kretschmann previously worked with The Walt Disney Company in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron as Wolfgang von Strucker.

Though this film has been in production hell since the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the recent casting news seems to be a positive sign that the film will not be delayed for the umpteenth time.

The fifth entry in the Indiana Jones series is to begin production this summer, with a current release date of July 29, 2022. The film will be directed by James Mangold, (Ford v Ferrari, Logan), who is also writing the film along with frequent collaborators Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. It will be produced by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshal, and Simon Emanuel. John Williams is returning to compose the score.

EXCLUSIVE: Boyd Holbrook and The Resident alum Shaunette Renée Wilson are set to co-star opposite Harrison Ford in the next installment in the Indiana Jones series at Disney and Lucasfilm. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen are also on board.

Holbrook, who first broke out as the star of the first two seasons of Narcos, can add this to his growing list of tentpoles he’s been in as of late. Following Narcos, he landed the villain role opposite Hugh Jackman in Logan and then starred in 20th Century’s reboot The Predator. He recently starred in the Sundance hit Eight To Silver and recently wrapped filming on the highly anticipated Sandman series at Netflix. He is repped byRange Management, CAA, Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman.

‘Indiana Jones 5’ Rumored To Take Place In Space, Mads Mikkelsen’s Role Revealed

With the exception of recent casting announcements, the next installment in the Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones franchise has pretty much been shrouded in secrecy. Thanks to our friends over at The Illuminerdi though, we may finally have some details about the film’s setting and who some of the characters might be playing.

Keep in mind that none of the following information has been officially confirmed; however, according to several sources close to the site Indiana Jones 5 will take place during the space race of the 1960s! With the last film taking place in the late 1950s, that timing makes sense.

Additionally, Mads Mikkelsen is rumored to be a Nazi scientist recruited by NASA to help them get on the moon. While that character description alone would have you think he’s the film’s primary antagonist, the site says that the film is casting for a “an evil and brutal” female antagonist that might work with Mikkelsen’s character. Scarlett Johansson also reportedly passed on the role.

More potential details were revealed about Shaunette Renee Wilson’s character too. She’s expected to play a CIA Agent “babysitting” Mikkelsen’s character while he works for NASA.

Once again, none of this info is confirmed.

Now that we know of a potential plot, all that’s missing is the MacGuffin. For those who don’t know, the MacGuffin is a specific object which drives the film’s plot. Each Indiana Jones film has one (i.e The Ark of the Covenant, the Crystal Skull, etc.)

Expected to shoot in just a few weeks, Harrison Ford will return once more to don the signature hat and whip, but for the first time in the franchise Steven Spielberg will not return as director. This is particularly surprising considering that even John Williams will return to score the film. Instead, James Mangold will helm the film.

Aside from Ford, Mikkelsen, and Wilson additional cast members include Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron).

The film is expected to be released on July 29, 2022.

James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5 Begins Production Next Week

According to Deadline, production on Lucasfilm’s long-in-development fifth and final installment to the Harrison Ford-led Indiana Jones franchise is currently scheduled to begin next week in the UK at Pinewood Studios. This comes after photos of its rumored sets have been recently leaked online through Reddit, featuring what looks like ruins of a castle.

Joining Harrison Ford are franchise newcomers Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson, with Waller-Bridge reportedly set as the female lead. The highly-anticipated sequel is currently scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022.

Indiana Jones 5 sees the return of Harrison Ford as he reprises one of his most iconic roles as the titular explorer. It will be directed by Oscar nominee James Mangold (Logan) from a new screenplay he is co-writing with Ford v Ferrari collaborators Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. Mangold stepped up to take over the director’s chair after Steve Spielberg had announced last year that he would be exiting his directorial duties for the film. The Oscar-winning filmmaker was the one who directed all of the previous Indiana Jones films. Despite this, he will still remain part of the film’s production as a producer.

The project will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, original franchise director Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel, with John Williams returning to score the film, continuing a musical journey that began 40 years ago with Raiders of the Lost Ark.
med archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was first introduced in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Toby Jones Joins Cast of ‘Indiana Jones 5’; More Hints Point to De-aged Ford

Yet another new photo from the set of Indiana Jones 5 has leaked today, this one telling us more than we have seen yet.

TheLoganDickinson in the Indiana Jones subreddit has posted a new photo of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, one of the first where the actor is not seen wearing a mask. Also in the photo is British actor Toby Jones, who has been rumored to be part of the film since last week as filming began in Scotland.

Jones has previously appeared in several Disney properties, including as Zola in the MCU and as Owl in 2018’s Christopher Robin. He is also well known for his role as Dobby in the Harry Potter franchise and as Claudius Templesmith in The Hunger Games franchise. This will mark his first role in an Indiana Jones film.

A close look at the new photo reveals dots on Ford’s face, further evidence that he will be de-aged for a flashback sequence. From what we have seen of the set so far in other photos, it is likely that this flashback will incorporate Nazis in some fashion.

We should expect to get a full cast announcement from Lucasfilm sometime in the near future. As of now, the only confirmed cast is Harrison Ford back as Indiana Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as an undisclosed character.

Other reported cast include Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrooke, Thomas Kretschmann, and Shaunette Renee Wilson.

The fifth entry in the Indiana Jones series recently began production and has a current release date of July 29, 2022.

Sta venendo fuori un cast piuttosto stellare.

Da Deadline

‘Indiana Jones 5’: Antonio Banderas Latest Addition To Next Installment In Franchise

EXCLUSIVE: Antonio Banderas is Harrison Ford’s newest co-star in the anticipated next installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. The Oscar-nominated Banderas has closed a deal to join the film to star alongside Ford, who returns as our favorite archaeologist, and an all-star ensemble that includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson. For Banderas, the film marks another major franchise for the international star.

James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who still is serving as a producer and is very much involved in various elements of the film. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise including its iconic theme, also will return as composer. Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth and Mangold co-wrote the script.

Production is currently underway, with the film set to bow on July 29, 2022. Plot details are still vague on what new adventure awaits Jones, as are details behind who Banderas will be playing.

Banderas, who recently earned his first Oscar nomination for his work in Pain and Glory, has been busy lining up a handful of major properties and possible franchises starting with The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He also recently finished production on Sony’s Uncharted starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. He is also returning to star in the DreamWorks Animation sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. He will next be seen starring opposite Penelope Cruz in the Spanish comedy Official Competition.

He is repped by NuCo Media Group.
