Dal sito Yahoo:

'Ant-Man 3' director Peyton Reed confirms Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will share equal billing: 'They're a partnership'

Peyton Reed takes clear pride in the fact that 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp was the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first project to feature a female superhero in its title.

That joint billing and screen time, Reed tells Yahoo Entertainment in a new interview, was not an anomaly.

“They’re a partnership, and she’s a very, very important part of that,” Reed says of the Wasp, aka Hope van Dyne, played in Ant-Man (2015) and its follow-up by Evangeline Lilly opposite Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang.

“And that was a very gratifying thing, I guess technically we were the first Marvel movie with a female hero in the title of the movie. Finding that balance in that movie, that’s very important to me because that’s very much a men’s playing field, historically. But that’s really, really changing now in a great way,” the director shares of his Ant-Man 3 preparations.

At the time of Ant-Man and the Wasp’s release, Lilly told Yahoo Entertainment how inspired she was by her co-star Michelle Pfeiifer, a trailblazer in the field of female comic book movie characters for her unforgettable role as Catwoman in Batman Returns (1992).

“What I thought was incredible about Catwoman was she was so clearly in control of her persona and autonomous and strong and powerful and independent, and yet she was fiercely sexy,” Lilly said. “I think there’s a great power in embracing that and saying, ‘It’s not one or the other.’ That women are allowed to be fully female and fully feminine and also that makes them powerful. Not that they are powerful in spite of being a woman. I feel like she did that with Catwoman, and I wanted to do that with the Wasp.”

Reed’s new comments come after rumors swirled that Lilly’s role in the planned threequel could be reduced or even dropped due to controversial comments the actress made on Instagram that countered the importance of social distancing during the coronavirus and even inferred the disease, referred to as a “respiratory flu,” could even be an election year hoax.

Lilly offered a lengthy apology for those comments shortly after they sparked backlash, writing that she was now “doing my part to flatten the curve, practicing social distancing and staying home with my family.”

Reed officially signed on to direct Ant-Man 3 in November 2019, with Ricky and Morty writer Jeff Loveness joining the project in April of this year. It’s currently planned for a 2022 release.

“We have [cracked the story],” Reed tells us of the film’s status. “Nothing is official yet, but we’re quietly working. We’re working through the pandemic.”

Da Deadline

Jonathan Majors Joins Marvel Cinematic Universe, Lands Major Role In Next ‘Ant-Man’ Movie

EXCLUSIVE: After a star-making turn in HBO’s hit series Lovecraft Country, Jonathan Majors is now ready to make his mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. Majors has been tapped for one of the lead roles in the next Ant-Man movie opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. The studio had no comment, but sources close to the project say he is likely to play the super-villain Kang the Conqueror.

Sources add that like with so many new characters in the MCU, there could be a twist with how the character is featured in future films, but as of now he is likely to be one of the main villains in the next installment in the franchise.

Peyton Reed, who directed the first films, returns to helm the latest installment, with Jeff Loveness penning the script. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will produce.

Although its possible he could be used differently in the movie, in the comics, Kang is a time-traveling entity who had battles with everyone from Thor to Spider-Man to the entire Avengers team.

The summer of 2020 has been good to Majors both on the film and TV front. He began starring in Spike Lee’s epic war drama Da 5 Bloods, where he played one of the sons of the Army unit that ventures back to Vietnam in their search for their gold fortune and fallen squad leader. He followed that up with Lovecraft Country, created by Misha Greene and produced by Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams. The series premiered in August and broke digital records for the network.

Prior to these projects, Majors received praise for his 2019 film The Last Black Man In San Francisco, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The movie marked Majors’ first leading role, for which he was nominated for a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor and a Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.

Majors is starring in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall, where he plays outlaw Nat Love and is currently in production. He was also tapped to star in Black Label media’s Devotion.

Majors is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Jackoway Austen.

Michelle Pfeiffer Says She’s Back For Ant-Man 3 In Spring 2021

In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp, was saved from the Quantum Realm. And according to Pfeiffer herself, she’ll be back for Ant-Man 3.

Pfeiffer confirmed the news during an appearance on the Ladies First with Laura Brown podcast. However, she declined to share any specific details about the sequel, or if Janet would return to the Quantum Realm. Pfeiffer also said that filming will begin in spring 2021. Her character previously appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp and as a cameo in Avengers: Endgame.

Kathryn Newton Joins Ant-Man 3, Officially Subtitled Quantumania!

It’s been a few months since we last heard word that Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors had joined the cast as the central villain, and now Kevin Feige has revealed that Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated third Ant-Man and the Wasp film is expanding its cast with the addition of Freaky lead Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, as well as confirming the film’s official subtitle as Quantumania!

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania Newton will be replacing Emma Fuhrmann, who played a teenage Cassie in Avengers: Endgame, as well as Abby Ryder Fortson who played the child-version of Cassie in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will once again share top billing as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp, respectively. Additionally, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will be back as well. Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and David Dastmalchian seem likely to return, but have not been confirmed.

Perhaps the most intriguing piece of Ant-Man 3 news came earlier in the year, when Jonathan Majors was reportedly cast as Kang the Conqueror. Kang is not a traditional Ant-Man villain, but he is an Avengers nemesis with the potential to be the MCU’s next big bad. Kang hails from the far future, and his comic book incarnation has repeatedly attempted to conquer the present.

Peyton Reed will return to direct Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which will be written by Rick & Morty‘s Jeff Loveness and open in theaters sometime in 2022.

Bill Murray Rumored to Appear in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

Is Bill Murray (Ghostbusters) set to join the MCU? According to a piece of casting information for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, that might be the case. Thanks to a new cast listing on Mandy.com, English actor John Townsend has been cast as a photo double for Bill Murray on a project called Dust Bunny.

For those who have been following us for a while, you will remember that Dust Bunny is in fact the working title for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Now, Townsend isn’t exactly a Bill Murray doppelganger but is about the right height, build, and hair color if he was being shot from behind or far enough away that facial details are not going to be close on camera.

Marvel Studios has yet to confirm any type of involvement for Murray. However, just to make things more interesting, director Peyton Reed tweeted that Bill Murray voiced The Human Torch in a 1975 radio series — as well as sharing a signed photo he got from Murray years later. Reed was a fan favorite to direct Fantastic Four before Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts signed on.[...]

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Jonathan Majors parla di Kang

Jonathan Majors non interpreterà esattamente Colui che rimane in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

M.O.D.O.K. to Reportedly Play a Pivotal Role in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’

A little over a year ago, reports surfaced that an initial script of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania featured M.O.D.O.K. as the main antagonist for the film. Fast forward a year later, it was revealed Jonathan Majors had signed on to the project as Kang the Conqueror, who would play the antagonist. Now, a new report states that M.O.D.O.K. will in fact appear.

According to The Direct, M.O.D.O.K. will have a major role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The site also dispelled rumors that Jim Carrey would be playing the character in multiple movies.

In the original report from 2020, it was said Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania would set up the Young Avengers, and that also appears to be the case now. We know Cassie Lang is back and played by Kathryn Newton. Just yesterday, it was reported that Hailee Steinfeld was spotted on the set and will return as Kate Bishop. Lang and Bishop are core members of the Young Avengers. So it looks like some elements of the initial script will be used.

MODOK stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Having been a previous technician for AIM, George Tarleton, the lead scientist for the organization tasked him with developing a bio-engineered “living computer”. Tarleton was the test subject through these experiments, heavily deforming his body. His code name was M.O.D.O.C, which stood for Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing; however, due to being driven mad by the experiments, he changed the Computing to Killing. Thus M.O.D.O.K was born.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA – SVELATO IL RUOLO DI BILL MURRAY NEL FILM [RUMOR]

Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Violento attacco
Arresto senza giusta causa
Perdita di impiego
Perdita della casa
Fame
Perdita di istruzione
Allontanamento dai cari

Siate gentili.
Oh no!

Evangeline Lilly tornerà a interpretare Wasp in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

(S)Cambio di data... The Marvels uscirà il 28 luglio 2023 al posto di Ant Man 3 che invece viene anticipato al 17 febbraio 2023.

Dal sito Variety:

‘The Marvels’ and ‘Ant-Man 3’ Swap Release Dates in 2023

Marvel Studios productions “The Marvels” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” are swapping release dates, Disney announced Friday.

“The Marvels,” the sequel to 2019’s “Captain Marvel,” was originally due to open in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023, and “Quantumania,” the third movie in the “Ant-Man” series, was set to open on July 28, 2023.

Instead, “Quantumania” will now bow first in February, and “The Marvels” will debut in July.

Insiders say this was a matter of “Quantumania” simply being further along in its creative process than “The Marvels,” as the former has wrapped principal photography while “The Marvels” still has a bit more to go. Marvel Studios’ other big theatrical release in 2023, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” is still set to debut on May 5, 2023.

The release date shuffling is likely to raise eyebrows among hardcore observers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it suggests that the 2023 feature projects aren’t as closely linked as previous MCU movies.

“Quantumania” is expected to continue the multiverse storyline launched with the 2021 Disney+ series “Loki,” which featured Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains, whose death creates the multiverse in the MCU. In “Quantumania,” Majors will play the main villain and a variant of his “Loki” character, Kang the Conqueror. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are all returning for “Quantumania,” along with director Peyton Reed.

“The Marvels” is set to tie-in with two Disney+ shows: 2021’s “WandaVision,” which introduced Teyonah Parris as the adult Monica Rambeau, and this June’s “Ms. Marvel,” which will introduce Iman Vellani as Captain Marvel superfan Kamala Khan. Brie Larson is reprising her role as Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers), with Nia DaCosta (“Candyman”) taking on directing duties.

Ironically, “Quantumania” was originally set to open in February 2023. But in October, it was bumped when Disney pushed back Marvel’s entire 2022 theatrical slate to give more time for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” to complete filming and post-production, and to accommodate production delays on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” following an injury to star Letitia Wright. “Doctor Strange 2” is now the next MCU title set to debut; it will open in theaters on May 6.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA, RIVELATO IL RUOLO DI M.O.D.O.K. NEL FILM [RUMOR]

[...]

Interessante.

Da Screenrant

Why Ant-Man 3 Recast Endgame’s Cassie Lang
Marvel Studios recast Cassie Lang for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and here's why Kathryn Newton is playing her instead of Emma Fuhrmann.

[...]
One of the main reasons Ant-Man 3 likely recast Cassie Lang was to get a bigger star in the role. Kathryn Newton is a rising star in Hollywood after roles in Freaky, Big Little Lies, The Society, and Blockers. She also has blockbuster experience from Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, which could be beneficial in Marvel's eyes. Marvel may have just wanted to secure a more recognizable name to play Cassie Lang going forward, considering that the Ant-Man star should have a big MCU future. Although in some instances of recasting, scheduling can be an issue, Fuhrmann didn't have conflicting projects when Ant-Man 3's production took place. A potential caveat to this is if the 19-year-old actress is too busy with school to make room for a blockbuster production.

How Old Cassie Lang Is In The MCU

Now that Kathryn Newton is playing Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 3, she'll take over the role for the MCU's future. But, she'll be playing a character a few years younger than her actual age. Cassie Lang was born in 2007 in the MCU, which means she was 17 years old when Avengers: Endgame took place. It isn't confirmed how long after these events Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes place. However, Cassie should still be a teenager when Kathryn Newton makes her MCU debut as the future Young Avenger. Kathryn Newton was born in 1997, a full 10 years before Cassie. Actors playing roles of characters considerably younger than them is nothing new, though. For example, Toby Maguire was around 26 when he played Spider-Man, making him much older than Peter Parker's age in the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man.

Why Cassie Lang's Recasting Isn't Weird

Despite the outcry from some die-hard MCU purists, recasting Cassie Lang makes total sense. Marvel clearly has big plans for Cassie Lang. Given that the MCU release slate is being planned decades in advance, having a young actress like Emma Fuhrmann presents a risk – not due to experience, but because if Marvel has an MCU Stature or Ant-Girl movie pegged sometime after The Multiverse Saga, they want a name that's likely to still be acting at that time. Fuhrmann is in the early stages of her career and may decide that she wants to pursue a craft besides acting (many young stars do). Kathryn Newton, on the other hand, already has several blockbuster appearances under her belt. The chances she'll no longer be acting by the time Cassie Lang's Ant-Man legacy MCU movie or Disney+ show is optioned are slim.

While age and experience should never be a barrier in Hollywood, an elevated role for Cassie in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania might mean that a more experienced face is simply necessary. Scott was in the Quantum Realm for five years, and a lot changed, including Cassie growing into a young woman without him. Scott and Cassie rebuilding that bridge will no doubt make for some emotional viewing. Kathryn Newton is as skilled an actress as she is a successful one. Her performances are consistently solid, even outshining heavyweights like Bill Nighy in Detective Pikachu. If the now-almost-adult Cassie's role in Ant-Man 3 is as important as casting someone like Newton implies, then it's highly likely audiences will finish the movie unable to imagine anyone else as the future Ant-Girl.

Outside of Kathryn Newton, Cassie Lang isn't the first recasting in the MCU. Most famously, Edward Norton was Hulk in 2008's The Incredible Hulk before Mark Ruffalo was recast into the role for The Avengers. James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, was only Don Cheadle from Iron Man 2 onwards. In the first Iron Man movie, Rhodey was portrayed by Terrence Howard. Some actors and actresses have played multiple parts too -- Gemma Chan was the Kree warrior Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel long before her character Sersi in The Eternals was even guaranteed an MCU appearance. Then, of course, there was the infamous Evan Peters Quicksilver in WandaVision bait-and-switch, which is easily the weirdest MCU casting controversy so far. All in all, the Cassie Lang recasting in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania isn't the MCU heresy some detractors online make it out to be. It makes sense from a production perspective and for the narrative, and it isn't the first time a Marvel character has switched actors.

Disney Content Showcase APAC 2022: Marvel Presentation Trailer Roundup

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has come to an end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which means there’s no better time than to start riding on the hype wave for Phase 5. During the Marvel presentation at Disney Content APAC Showcase 2022 held in Singapore, there was plenty of superhero fever to go around, as a handful of trailers made their way to the show floor.

While there was nothing fresh on the plate for Secret Invasion, most of the reveals were exclusive to the event. Here’s a roundup of everything that was shown, from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to the second season of Loki.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

A showcase special, the new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania offers an extended look at the villainous Kang. It isn’t all that different from the footage unveiled at this year’s D23 Expo, but details the line that Kang utters, “What’s it going to be, Ant-Man?”. Essentially, the Conqueror wants to work with Scott because an unnamed individual stole something from him, and the scene includes more interaction bits between the pair.

The latter refuses to help, and we see a glimpse of Kang’s powers and what he’s capable of. There also more sequences of Cassie, Scott’s daughter, here, so some father-daughter action and bonding moments are expected.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premieres in theatres on 17 February 2023. It’s unclear when this shiny new trailer from the Marvel presentation at the Disney Showcase will be released to the public, but here’s the newest official reel to check out in the meantime:

Click

[...]

A sneak peek at the upcoming Marvel slate from the Disney Content Showcase seems to promise a good time for fans ahead, and not just on the silver screen. Co-president of Marvel Studios, Louis D’Esposito, confirmed earlier during the Disney Content APAC Showcase that there’ll be no change in plans to have more characters to get their own time to shine on Disney+, so the streaming platform won’t be left behind in the dust, either.

Dal sito The Disinsider:

All The Disney Projects We Expect To See Teased At This Year’s Super Bowl

With Super Bowl LVII happening this Sunday, as always, people are excited for the commercials, particularly the TV spots for all the big upcoming event movies and shows. Now, Disney has traditionally had a big presence during the event’s air time. With so many upcoming projects that have received little to no marketing, we decided to put together a list of spots that are most likely to make their debut.

Here are some of the biggest projects we expect to see teased:

Even though Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters next weekend, and marketing so close to the release might be considered pointless or redundant by fans, realistically Disney would be crazy not to capitalize on all the eyes watching the big game. We don’t expect a new trailer, but rather a clip or an extended spot with some more new footage. Think of it more as like a last minute push than a full on promo. If you’re curious about the film yourself, be on the lookout for our review of the film early next week!
