‘Percy Jackson’ Author Has Met With Disney, Looks Like A Disney+ Series Is On The Horizon

One of the properties that Disney acquired via the Fox merger that has fans itching for more content is the Percy Jackson franchise. Well, thanks to the author of the books, it looks like he ready to move forward with a reboot.

Author Rick Riordan took to Twitter seemingly confirming to fans that he has had a meeting with Disney, stating Had some good meetings at Disney today. Way too early to know what if anything might happen, but I will keep at it! At least they knew me by name at the security gates! (zoom in on my nametag to see what I mean 😂)

As of right now, Disney has not given the green light to the project and at the end of the day, this was only a meeting to discuss the possibilities they can do with Percy Jackson.

I will say this, earlier this year before the merger was finalized, I was told by a reliable source that Disney had some interest in the project as the studio felt they can make this there very own Game of Thrones for a younger audience. Which would make a ton of sense. Until then we have to wait and see what happens.

In 2013, the sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters sadly lost the studio money grossing under $200M on a $90M budget.

Sarebbe un sogno! Sono un grande fan della saga, ho letto i primi 10 volumi! Ho abbandonato solo la parte finale in cui è protagonista Apollo.
I due film prodotti sono simpatici ma niente di esaltante e decisamente deludenti se paragonati ai bei romanzi.
Ho sempre pensato che una serie tv sarebbe perfetta 😍

Percy Jackson Series in Development at Disney Plus

A Percy Jackson series is currently in the early stages of development at Disney Plus.

Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson book series, made the announcement Thursday in a video on Twitter alongside his wife Becky.

Rick then followed up with a statement, which reads in part, “We can’t say much more at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one.”

Quando si trae una serie da un libro di solito viene bene dato che la storia c'è già e spesso è buona, piena di colpi di scena e ottime ambientazioni e personaggi. Spero continuino a trasporre serie prese da romanzi, secondo me è la strada giusta.

Author Rick Riordan Expresses Dislike for Percy Jackson Films

As fans of the Percy Jackson series of novels will attest, the two film adaptations were awful. Not only did they fail to capture the spirit, heart, and cleverness of the books, but they turned Pierce Brosnan into a shirtless Centaur. As it turns out, fans aren’t alone in their disdain for the film — the author of the novels, Rick Riordan, isn’t fond of them either.

Riordan revealed as much via Twitter when responding to a fan bemoaning Disney+ censoring the casino sequence in the first film, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

“I don’t know [why Disney+ is censoring that scene], but clearly it’s a mistake,” the author wrote. “They should censor the entire thing. Just two hours of blank screen.”

When prompted further, Riordan didn’t mince words and also teased the upcoming Disney+ series adaptation.

“Well, to you guys, it’s a couple hours entertainment. To me, it’s my life’s work going through a meat grinder when I pleaded with them not to do it. So yeah. But it’s fine. All fine. We’re gonna fix it soon . . .” Riordan continued, “Finally, I still have not seen the movies, and don’t plan on ever doing so. I judge them from having read the scripts, because I care most about the story. I certainly have nothing against the very talented actors. Not their fault. I’m just sorry they got dragged into that mess.”

Hopefully, the move to Disney+ means we will finally see a faithful adaptation of the source material. There’s some truly great stuff in Riordan’s books and it was a shame when the film adaptations failed to provide the same magic.

Nearly a month since best-selling author Rick Riordan confirmed that his Percy Jackson novels are now officially being adapted into a Disney+ series, fans are still reeling with joy as they’ve been waiting for a long time for the project to be made and have already started dropping names of the potential cast, who they think are perfect for their favorite Demigods. Interestingly, despite the live-action films being negatively-received by Riordan and the fandom, fans are still showing their support to its lead star Logan Lerman by campaigning for him to get cast as Poseidon in the long-awaited series adaptation.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lerman has finally commented on the recent Percy Jackson series announcement, revealing that he is flattered that fans are still remembering his time as the titular demigod.

“Honestly, I’m amazed by it and I’m flattered that people still talk about the Percy Jackson series,” Lerman said. “Yeah, I saw that. Of course, I read the stuff. I’m stuck at home with my phone, so, of course I read it.”

When asked about the possibility of playing Poseidon, he admitted that he is still interested to revisit the franchise and is open to playing a new role that would fit him. “Yeah, potentially, it just depends. It’s early right now you know. It usually starts with an announcement like this for a big project. So, they announced the development of this show. I wonder when they will be ready to make it. They’ve got to approve scripts, budget it, and cast it. Do this whole thing. So, it could be a ways away for them, you know. I’m curious if there would be a role that would be interesting for me or something like that. I’d definitely consider it.”

I fan dei libri di Rick Riordan sono ansiosi di vedere la serie tv Disney+ tratta dai romanzi di Percy Jackson, ma dovranno aspettare ancora un po’. Lo stesso scrittore ha risposto ad un lettore che gli ha posto la domanda su Twitter, dichiarando che ci vorranno circa due anni per vederla.
Rick Riordan quando possiamo aspettarci l’uscita della serie? Solo per convincere i miei amici a non porre le loro speranze per la fine del 2020.

Fans have been anxiously waiting for any updates on the Disney+ Percy Jackson series, and thanks to Rick Riordan’s wife, Becky, we finally have one.

Riordan took to Twitter to share that a completed script has been sent to Disney+ for approval.

Great news to share this morning. Yesterday our team sent the #PercyJackson pilot script up the chain of command at the TV studio for notes and approvals. Why is this news? Adaptation is a very slow collaborative process, so we are excited for every step in the right direction!

Not much has been discussed regarding casting, which they did some looking during the pandemic (remotely), but casting should come early next year as the series is looking to begin shooting next Summer. With a 2022 debut on the streamer in mind.

The series will reportedly follow the storyline of the five-book series starting with The Lightning Thief which centers on a teenager who discovers he’s the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. The series will then tackle each new book for every season, if Disney+ greenlights more seasons that is. It will be produced by Fox 21 TV Studios.

Benissimo, le serie tratte dai libri sono sempre le migliori perché hanno una base narrativa molto solida! Ottima scelta!

EDIT. Mi sono resa conto di aver fatto un commento identico a uno scritto poco sopra! Scusate! È che io da tempo promuovevo il fatto di trarre serie televisive da romanzi seriali, e che sarebbe stata quella la nuova via per trasporre opere narrative come Harry Potter, il Signore degli anelli o Narnia, o altri, perché nei film tutto viene miserabilmente schiacciato in poche ore e non si riesce mai a rendere giustizia all'opera originale.

Anche qualche saga della Troisi ci starebbe....

Online c’è infatti chi ha sottolineato quanto l’opera dello scrittore proponga delle importanti lezioni di vita anche ai lettori adulti e susciti moltissime emozioni.

Tra i fan c’è persino chi sostiene che Percy Jackson abbia contribuito a far scoprire la mitologia greca a chi si è avvicinato all’opera originale e agli adattamenti cinematografici.

La visione dei lungometraggi ha inoltre alimentato nuovamente le richieste di coinvolgere Logan Lerman nella realizzazione dello show, sostenendo che sarebbe una scelta perfetta per il ruolo di Poseidone.

Uno dei tweet più divertenti è quello in cui si chiede all’account di Magic 8 Ball se la serie prodotta per Disney+ sarà fedele ai romanzi e la risposta è stata che le prospettive non sono particolarmente positive, tweet che ha scatenato i commenti dei fan che hanno invece ricordato le dichiarazioni dello scrittore.

Amazon produce in pompa magna la serie del Signore degli Anelli, Disney+ si lancia sulla "poracciata" di Percey Jackson, già superflop a livello cinematografico.

Non aggiungo altro.

EDIT: Anzi aggiungo qualcosa per "mitigare" un attimo: è buono che venga dato spazio ad una saga letteraria fantasy (low/urban fantasy) ma credo che disney+ debba accelerare un attimo sui contenuti di qualità e creare più cose come Mandalorian. Percy Jackson ha un target di preadolescenti e rischia seriamente di essere trattato come Artemis Fowl, e cioè infantilizzato e spogliato di quei (pochi) elementi di narrazione più maturi.

Dopo aver comunicato lo scorso novembre che fino al 2022 non ci sarebbero state ulteriori notizie, Rick Riordan è tornato a parlare della serie tv di Percy Jackson, in sviluppo per Disney+.
L’autore ha pubblicato un nuovo post sul proprio blog, in cui aggiorna i lettori svelando che i lavori sulla sceneggiatura della serie tv proseguono, e spera di ottenere il via libera per dare il via alle riprese questa estate:
Col rischio di ripetermi, perché è davvero tutto ciò che posso condividere in questa fase, stiamo lavorando per finire i primi quattro script della prima stagione di PJOTV, che segue la trama de Il Ladro di Fulmini. Li consegneremo all’inizio del prossimo mese, quindi potremo (si spera) ottenere l’approvazione e il via libera completo, che ci permetterà di prepararci per la produzione e per iniziare le riprese probabilmente la prossima estate…
Lo scrittore ha aggiunto:
Dopo gli ultimi due anni di lavoro dietro le quinte per far decollare questa serie, sono ottimista sul fatto che il 2022 sarà l’anno in cui prenderà il via e verrà effettivamente realizzata. Il casting per i ruoli principali di Percy, Annabeth e Grover è in corso, come ho detto nel mio ultimo post. Niente è deciso. Tutto è ancora in corso.

Rick Riordan ha aggiornato i fan sulla serie di Percy Jackson and the Olimpians, rivelando che ha compiuto una gita di dieci giorni a Los Angeles e Vancouver. Lo scrittore, sul suo blog, ha spiegato di essere andato ai Disney Studios di Burbank dove sono in corso le audizioni dell’adattamento televisivo dei suoi romanzi per poter scegliere gli interpreti giusti per i ruoli di Percy, Annabeth e Grover. ‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Series Casts Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth (EXCLUSIVE)

The “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series at Disney+ has found its Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase.

Variety has learned exclusively that Aryan Simhadri will star as Grover with Leah Sava Jeffries set to play Annabeth. They join previously announced series lead Walker Scobell, who will play Percy.

The series adaptation of the Rick Riordan book series was ordered at the streamer back in January. The live-action show tells the fantastical tale of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Grover is a satyr, half boy and half goat, disguised as a 12 year old boy. He cares deeply about others and will always choose what is best for them, sometimes at his own expense. Though cautious by nature, he’ll always throw himself into a fight to protect his friends, especially his best friend Percy.

Annabeth is a true daughter of the Greek goddess, Athena. She is a brilliant strategist with an active and curious mind. After having spent the last five years at Camp Half-Blood, she longs to test her mettle in the human world, of which she barely remembers. She trains Percy to survive the mythological world, and in turn, he helps her connect with her humanity.

Simhadri most recently appeared in the Disney+ remake of “Cheaper by the Dozen” and starred in the Disney Channel original movie “Spin.” He also starred in the Disney Channel improvisational sitcom “Just Roll With It” and the Disney Junior animated series “Mira, Royal Detective.” His other credits include the Paramount+ animated series “Adventures in Wonder Park,” “The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run,” the “Adventure Time” TV movie “Distant Lands,” and the WWE/Netflix movie “The Main Event.”

He is repped by Paradigm, Industry Entertainment, and Goodman Genow

Jeffries is known for her role as Lola in the Fox music drama “Empire” as well as for playing Lil Rel Howery’s daughter, Erica, in the Fox multi-cam comedy “Rel.” She also starred in the Lifetime movie “Faith Under Fire.” Up next, she will be seen opposite Idris Elba in the thriller feature “Beast” and in the Amazon feature “Something From Tiffany’s” produced by Hello Sunshine.

She is repped by The Osbrink Agency, M88 and Fox Rothschild.

Production on “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will begin soon in Vancouver. Riordan and Jon Steinberg are writing the pilot with James Bobin directing. Steinberg and his producing partner Dan Shotz are overseeing the series and serve as executive producers alongside Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Ormai quella della Disney è una crociata contro i personaggi femminili caucasici e dai capelli biondi/rossi!

Ariel, Trilli, la Fata Turchina, Anita... nelle produzioni recenti si è salvata solo Wendy (che però è castana).

come cast però sono ben amalgamati dalla foto... e poi in una serie tv come Percy Jackson non è che importi granché il tipo di origine (se caucasica o meno) dei vari personaggi... il protagonista è biondo, è ovvio che gli altri sarebbero stati differenti, ma non vediamo proprio il problema... è un racconto moderno, mica una storia d'altri tempi... avrà dei richiami alla mitologia ma sono sempre racconti moderni con un universo pressoché contemporaneo e ambientato anche a New York... secondo noi vanno bene gli attori scelti...

Wendy è castana/rossiccia... Ever Anderson è bionda/rossa/castana, quindi è molto simile... vedremo se il trend di mettere i personaggi dai capelli rossi con personaggi di colore continuerà con Ercole e Megara (biondo/rosso lui, rossa ramata/castana rossa lei)... vedremo...

So solo che Riordan si lamentò a suo tempo della prima trasposizione e tutto lasciava presagire che ci sarebbe stata più attinenza ora che la serie lo coinvolge in prima persona. Tutto vero quello che dite veu, sul tipo di racconto che presuppone una descrizione contemporanea dei suoi personaggi, ma lo scrittore è di un'ipocrisia fastidiosa.

Io comunque credo che i ragazzi si lamentino della continua poca attinenza dei personaggi dei film e delle serie odierne ai personaggi dei libri/film di riferimento. Il signore degli anelli ha cercato attori più attinenti possibile a quelli descritti nei libri di Tolkien, lo stesso hanno fatto per i libri di Harry Potter, e noi lettori amiamo riconoscere i tratti dei personaggi che abbiamo amato nelle varie trasposizioni.

Premesso che sicuramente qualcuno esagera e avrà certamente sconfinato in commenti razzisti deprecabili, tuttavia mi domando, se una persona non fosse d'accordo con la scelta poiché nel romanzo la descrizione del personaggio è diametralmente opposta, perchè etichettarlo impietosamente "hater"?? Io non ho odio nessuna, tantomeno l'attrice che per me è un'emerita sconosciuta. Ma questa deriva del pensiero unico, che non accetta un rispettoso contraddittorio è terribile e intollerabile. L’annuncio dell’arrivo di due nuovi protagonisti nella serie Percy Jackson e gli dei dell’Olimpo ha scatenato i commenti degli hater e Leah Sava Jeffries ha condiviso la sua risposta alle critiche ricevute via social.
La giovanissima attrice è stata scelta per la parte di Annabeth Chase, la figlia di Athena, che aiuta il protagonista creato da Rick Riordan nelle sue avventure insieme al satiro Grover Underwood, parte affidata ad Aryan Simhadri.
A suscitare le polemiche, alcune sfociate in commenti razzisti, è stato l’aspetto fisico dell’attrice, considerato troppo diverso da quello del personaggio descritto nei libri.

Poverina, ha solo 12 anni:(( in quell'età siamo molto vulnerabili, soprattutto noi ragazze. Comunque gli hater dovrebbero criticare chi ha scelto lei per il ruolo, non lei di per sé, che non ha nessuna colpa.

Day, secondo me qui si parla di vere offese, se qualcuno avesse solo espresso un parere contraddittorio sulla scelta dell'attrice tutto questo polverone non si sarebbe alzato... Following the casting of Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney+ series, author Rick Riordan has taken to the internet to defend the casting from a small section of racist fans.

In a recent blog post, Riordan — who wrote all five Percy Jackson and the Olympians books in the series — spoke out in favor of the casting, calling it “a shame” that he had to even write the blog post before praising Jeffries, who Riordan said would be “a role model for new generations of girls who will see in her the kind of hero they want to be.”

“If you have a problem with this casting, however, take it up with me,” said Riordan in his post. “You have no one else to blame. Whatever else you take from this post, we should be able to agree that bullying and harassing a child online is inexcusably wrong. As strong as Leah is, as much as we have discussed the potential for this kind of reaction and the intense pressure this role will bring, the negative comments she has received online are out of line. They need to stop. Now.”

Riordan’s comments come after various accounts on social media began voicing their dismay over Jeffries’ casting, as Riordan had described the character of Annabeth as white in the books. Things went even further when the 12-year-old actress took to Instagram to note that her TikTok account had been banned following a wave of people upset at her casting reporting her account.

“The core message of Percy Jackson has always been that difference is strength,” Riordan went on to say. “There is power in plurality. The things that distinguish us from one another are often our marks of individual greatness,” Rick Riordan writes. “You should never judge someone by how well they fit your preconceived notions. That neurodivergent kid who has failed out of six schools, for instance, may well be the son of Poseidon. Anyone can be a hero. If you don’t get that, if you’re still upset about the casting of this marvelous trio, then it doesn’t matter how many times you have read the books. You didn’t learn anything from them.”

Non siete consapevoli, o avete ignorato, gli anni di duro lavoro con cui Leah ha delineato le sue capacità, il suo talento, la sua tenacia, la sua concentrazione e la sua presenza scenica. Vi rifiutate di credere che sia stata scelta per il merito. Senza averla vista mentre interpreta il ruolo avete pregiudicato (avendo quindi un pregiudizio) e deciso che deve essere stata assunta semplicemente per riempire una percentuale o spuntare dalla lista la diversità. Avete deciso non poteva significare ciò che ho sempre detto: che la vera natura del personaggio è nella sua personalità. Avete pensato che devo essere stato costretto, mi avessero fatto il lavaggio del cervello, sia stato ingannato, minacciato o qualsiasi altra cosa perché io, essendo un autore bianco, non avrei mai scelto un’attrice nera per la parte di questa ragazza che secondo il canone è bianco. Vi rifiutate di credere a me, il tizio che ha scritto i romanzi e ha creato questi personaggi, quando dico che questi attori sono perfetti per i ruoli perché il talento che hanno e il modo che lo hanno usato durante le loro audizioni espande, migliora e rende entusiasmanti le battute che gli hanno dato. Quando vedrete Leah nel ruolo di Annabeth diventerà esattamente come avete immaginato Annabeth, supponendo che le diate quell’opportunità, ma vi rifiutate di prendere in considerazione che sia vero. State giudicando quanto è appropriata per questo ruolo solo ed esclusivamente sul suo aspetto, è una ragazza nera che interpreta qualcuno che nei libri è descritto come una giovane bianca. Amici, quello è razzismo.

Rick Riordan ha sottolineato che avere dei pregiudizi è normale e bisognerebbe esserne consapevoli, visto che tutte le persone li hanno, affrontarli e impegnarsi a migliorare.

A nessuno che abbia buon senso interessa l'etnia di un attore a meno che non sia estremamente rilevante per il ruolo (vedasi Anna Bolena), e nel caso di specie la variazione non incide sul personaggio (benché diverga dai canoni stabiliti nei romanzi).

Quel che disturba, piuttosto, è la consapevolezza che sì, l'attrice di colore sia stata scelta proprio per riempire la quota etnica e garantirsi il favore della critica ed un ritorno commerciale (perché sappiamo bene tutti che, alla fine della fiera, è il denaro a governare ogni scelta).

Se fosse il primo caso nelle produzioni Disney ancora si potrebbe credere, sulla fiducia, alla bravura dell'attrice quale discrimine (sebbene nulla nel suo curriculum indichi un talento fuori dalla norma), ma avendo visto lo stesso meccanismo accadere puntualmente in ogni progetto e sempre e solo per i personaggi femminili (unica eccezione in tal senso è Peter Pan) a questo punto il pubblico è saturo, e non si fa più ingannare.

Che facciano le loro scelte commerciali mascherandole dietro all'inclusività, ma non si lamentino poi delle critiche sul web. Anche perché vige sempre la regola del "purché se ne parli"...

Io spero solo che questa strategia meschina prima o poi gli si ritorca contro, magari proprio con l'aberrante live action de "La Sirenetta".

Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally and Timm Sharp are all set to appear in recurring guest star roles in the small screen adaptation of the popular Rick Riordan book series. They join previously announced series lead Walker Scobell as well as recently announced co-stars Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries. News of the casting comes as the series kicks off production in Vancouver.

Mullally (“Will & Grace,” “Party Down,” “Children’s Hospital”) will play Alecto, a.k.a. Mrs. Dodds. Mrs. Dodds is Percy’s strict, irascible math teacher who may act monstrous at times, because she is. She’s one of the three Furies, known as Alecto, who loyally serves Hades, the god of the underworld.

Mantzoukas (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The League,” “The Good Place”) will play Dionysus, a.k.a. Mr. D. The irritable and sarcastic Mr. D runs Camp Half Blood, a camp for the demigods.

Kull (“Super Pumped,” “NOS4A2,” “Big Little Lies”) will appear as Sally Jackson, Percy’s loving, protective and selfless mother. Sally raised her son knowing that one day she’ll have to give him up to the dangerous world of the Olympian gods.

Turman (“Women of the Movement,” “The Wire,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”) will play Chiron, a.k.a Mr. Brunner. Disguised as Percy’s Latin teacher Mr. Brunner, Chiron is the famed centaur and trainer of heroes who provides Percy with moral guidance when needed.

Sharp (“Enlightened,” “Blunt Talk,” “On the Verge”) will play Gabe Ugliano, Sally’s selfish, brash, and combative husband as well as Percy’s stepfather.

Copeland will appear in a recurring guest star role as Ares, the god of War. Ares is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.”

Copeland is best known as Edge, a WWE Hall of Famer who returned to the ring in January 2020 after a nine-year hiatus due to medical issues. He is also an accomplished actor, having appeared in shows like “Vikings,” “Haven,” and “The Flash” as well as films like “Money Plane” and “Interrogation.”

He is repped by OAZ and A3 Artists Agency.

Cryer will guest star as Echidna, The Mother of Monsters. The character is said to be “dangerous, intimidating, and strangely maternal. She enjoys her task of challenging heroes and will test Percy’s faith in the gods.”

Cryer previously starred in the HBO comedy series “Silicon Valley” as well as the ABC sitcom “Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place.” She has also held roles on shows like “The Fosters,” “All Rise,” and “Shameless.” She is currently a series regular on the upcoming AMC series “Straight Man” starring Bob Odenkirk.

Kennedy will guest star as Medusa, the infamous gorgon. Per her official character description, Medusa is “wronged by the gods and bitter. Medusa lives in isolation until travelers stumble on her emporium. She is welcoming to some and a threat to others.”

Kennedy is known for playing Nora West-Allen in “The Flash” as well as for playing Max in the Starz pirate epic “Black Sails.” Her other recent TV roles include “The Old Man” at FX and “Colony” at USA Network. Her film credits include “Gemini,” “The Perfect Guy,” and “50/50.”

She is repped by Gersh, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Goodman Genow.

Riguardo allo Zeus nero, ormai ci sta poco da dire.. Ho poco interesse per Percy Jackson quindi non me ne faccio un cruccio.. certo è, che se fosse stato un film sulla mitologia greca fatto come si deve, in quel caso mi sarebbero girate eccome alla pari di Anna Bolena nera.

Concordo, Buffyfan. Lo avevo già scritto in passato che, pur essendo un grande estimatore delle MUSICHE di LMM, la sua onnipresenza (e forse ingordigia?) sta iniziando a infastidire pure me.
Specifico che amo le sue musiche perché, invece, come attore e specialmente come cantante lo trovo pessimo, incluso in Hamilton (spettacolo ho da poco visto a Melbourne, l'attore principale lo faceva 10 a zero a Miranda).
La Disney comunque continua a ficcarcelo ovunque perché evidentemente gli hanno fatto un buon contratto e il suo nome attira, oltre ad essere un simbolo di tutto quello che alla Disney di oggi piace (black washing etc.).
Anche compositore secondo me sta iniziando a sentire il peso dell'essere spremuto fino al midollo, dato che in Encanto le musiche erano tutte dimenticabili a parte la fortunata We don't talk about Bruno.
Vedremo con la Sirenetta che ha combinato con le quattro (!) nuove canzoni.

Invece a me le canzoni di Encanto sono piaciute tutte e le canto da un anno... *_* però anch'io penso sia sovrasfruttato, e per esempio, non mi è piaciuto né lui né le sue canzoni in Mary Poppins Returns.

Lance Reddick, l'attore scelto per interpretare Zeus è venuto a mancare prima ancora della messa in onda. Il suo ingaggio porterà per la prima volta una versione black del Padre degli Dei sullo schermo e tragicamente ora porterà a un recast, semmai vedrà la luce una seconda stagione della serie.

Io non ho letto i libri ma sto guardando la serie e mi piace, sono alla seconda puntata e devo dire che è fatta bene! La Disney deve fare progetti così, fatti bene, con storie forti.

Il mio compagno che ha letto i libri (tutti e dieci) sembra soddisfatto per il momento. Quando ha visto Annabeth si è un po' contrariato ma non ha fatto molte storie, a detta sua non è una grossa variazione.

Boh io alla fine sono arrivata con fatica alla fine della serie, all'inizio sembra bella ma poi si capisce che nei libri c'è molto di più, le cose vengono spiegate male e brevemente, e ho fatto fatica a seguire la trama... Insomma per me è stato un fiasco.

Giudizio contrastante, ma sono felice del rinnovo e guarderò la seconda stagione.
Parte dell'insoddisfazione è dovuta alla mia confusione personale, mi aspettavo alcuni eventi che invece, mea culpa, accadranno in romanzi successivi. I libri sono così tanti che ho mischiato i ricordi
Sicuramente il tono scanzonato dei libri si avverte molto più che nei film, anche se va scemando con l'avanzare della serie. Credo che gli effetti visivi e il design siano più che buoni per una serie di questo tipo. Ci sono stati alcuni rallentamenti (i flash-back) e viceversa alcune situazioni troppo repentine (es. il reveal del ladro). Il cast è di qualità alterna: bene il protagonista, così come Grover e la mamma, autorevole Zeus, istrionico Ermes, un minimo simpatico Dioniso. Anonimi e poco caratterizzati Chirone e gli altri dei: Efesto, Ade, Ares e soprattutto Poseidone. Il casting "famoso" di Miranda su Ermes ha creato aspettative per eventuali altri camei divini, poi disattese. E che dire di Annabeth? Probabilmente è il personaggio che si discosta di più dai libri. Io ricordavo una ragazza indomita, leader, svettante e sicura di sé: l'attrice non ha la statura né carismatica né fisica che avrei immaginato, manca anche la chimica con Percy imho.

Il cast di Annabeth è irritante e non poco alla luce di quello che ha scritto Beast. Dicevano che avevano scelto l'attrice perchè meglio incarnava il personaggio. Non ci ho mai creduto, perchè ovviamente l'hanno scelta per il colore della pelle, ma perché diamine almeno non hanno scelto un'attrice nera capace? Era l'unica disponibile? Raccomandazione? Terribile, terribile. Tutto terribile. E Riordan e tutti gli altri sono solo dei bugiardi e solo per questo andrebbero boicottati piè pari. Cosa che io naturalmente farò, ora non ho dubbi.
