Che sia una pellicola suddivisa in un dittico? Che forse i progetti di Frozen siano più vicini di quanto si pensi?

‘Frozen 4’ in the Works at Disney, Bob Iger Reveals

Disney is heading back to Arendelle.

Bob Iger revealed the studio is working on a fourth “Frozen” movie in addition to the previously announced “Frozen 3,” which hasn’t been released yet.

“‘Frozen 3’ is in the works, and there might be a ‘Frozen 4’ in the works too,” Disney’s CEO said Thursday on “Good Morning America.” “But I don’t have much to say about those films right now. [Director] Jenn Lee, who created the original ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen 2,’ is hard at work with her team at Disney animation on not one but actually two stories.”

“Frozen” songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will be back to pen new tunes for the two follow-up films, Anderson-Lopez later confirmed on social media. “Well, I’ve been quiet here for a while,” she wrote. “But yeah, this.”

Iger made the announcement from Disney’s theme park in Hong Kong, where he’s in town for the opening ceremony of “World of Frozen.” The attraction lets guests not only meet Olaf, Anna and Elsa, but also dine at restaurants and walk the streets that evoke the mystical world of Arendelle.

“For years at our Disney Parks, we’ve been creating these large immersive worlds. Essentially, they are the physical embodiment of some of the greatest stories that we’ve told… And of course, ‘Frozen’ being one of our most valuable franchises, I think it’s just right for building the place that ‘Frozen’ takes place in,” Iger said. “It’s just a fantastic land that enables people to get immersed in the story of ‘Frozen’ and interact with all the great characters from the films.”

“Frozen” and its 2019 sequel “Frozen II” became huge, zeitgeist-smashing hits for Disney. The follow-up film remains the biggest animated release of all time with $1.45 billion, though the original was no slouch with $1.33 billion. In addition to box office riches, the movies about the adventures of royal sisters Anna and Elsa (voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel) produced inescapably popular songs like “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” as well as a Broadway musical.

Capisco che siano messi veramente ma veramente malissimo, ma questa non mi sembra la soluzione migliore, non possono contare in eterno su Frozen, prima o poi il pubblico dovrà per forza stancarsi, il secondo film, nonostante abbia superato il primo in termini di incassi, è stato subito dimenticato, NON si è affatto impresso nell'immaginario collettivo, questi cialtroni dovrebbero pensarci prima di mettere in cantiere ben due sequel

Sono disgustato. Maledetta quella volta che hanno ingaggiato quell'affarista della Lee. Iger è soltanto uno squalo come tanti.

Anch'io non sono contenta ma se hanno pensato a una storia così lunga da essere divisa in due atti finali, un po' stile Harry Potter e i doni della morte, non so, potrebbe essere un segno di qualcosa di grandissimo dal punto di vista narrativo.

Mamma mia ma che cosa avranno da dire in 4 film? Alla fine già il secondo a livello di sceneggiatura era abbastanza carente,e ha chiuso tutti i punti lasciati aperti.
Posso capire saghe come Toy story,zootropolis o inside out che si prestano a più film proprio per il genere ,ma Frozen per me già ha finito di essere interessante, un terzo ancora ancora per concludere la trilogia,ma farci 20 sequel anche no.
Sarebbe stato bello se avessero effettivamente recuperato parti e personaggi dall'originale regina delle nevi,che è una fiaba lunghissima e piena di avvenimenti,ma a loro non interessa nulla

Il secondo non mi è piaciuto, l’ho trovato inutile.
Il terzo non mi interessa vederlo…. Il quarto anche peggio.
Questa azienda non la capisco piu.

Veu per rispondervi tutto ciò mi lascia completamente indifferente. Frozen è stato un buon prodotto ma non a livello di tutta la fanfara ricevuta, il sequel scarso.

La disney non ha capito che il successo di Frozen è stato merito in gran parte di Rapunzel, film amatissimo, tratto da una fiaba nota senza stravolgimenti (pur con i dovuti rimodellamenti) che ha riportato in alto la reputazione dei WDAS e creato attesa per la fiaba animata successiva. Senza Rapunzel, anche Frozen sarebbe stato un mezzo flop in quanto pur prendendo spunto dalla fiaba "la regina delle nevi" è di fatto un film originale che sovverte il racconto e tutti gli stilemi fiabeschi.

Se vorranno ritrovare il successo, dovranno ripartire dalle fiabe classiche e dal 2d.

Theprinceisonfire, concordiamo con te, se non ci fosse stata Rapunzel probabilmente non ci sarebbe stata la terza era d'oro della Disney che ha portato ai fasti di Frozen.
Crediamo però che questa terza era sia stata limitata a due veri classici di successo (Rapunzel e Frozen) poi si è concentrata su operazioni sperimentali che hanno tradito l'essenza di quella che è la tradizione disneyana...
il fatto che ora annuncino seguiti a raffica significa che non sanno dove andare a parare perché non hanno storie forti da fare, e solo Frozen è garanzia di successo...
non stupisce che non hanno neppure annunciato il film del 2024 che probabilmente sarà sostituito da Mufasa e cancellata l'idea del fantasy o fiaba iraniana per dedicarsi ad altro (il sequel di Zootropolis per il 2025 e poi il 2026 e 2027 Frozen 3 e Frozen 4), questo perché tra Mufasa e i sequel di Zootropolis e Frozen sperano di risollevarsi dai disastri del post pandemia (Raya/Encanto/Strange World e probabilmente Wish) ma anche del pre-pandemia (vedesi Ralph 2 o Oceania che erano stati flop o tiepidi successi con recupero, per Oceania, su Disney+ solo perché è una storia molto infantile e tranquilla così i genitori possono lasciare il televisore acceso senza preoccuparsi) e recuperare soldi perché senza quelli non sanno come andare avanti e devono avere macchine macina-soldi sicure
quando capiranno che le fiabe classiche e romantiche sono la fonte di guadagno sicuro allora vi torneranno, devono ancora sbattere il naso per un po' e magari rischiare la chiusura e poi capiranno... forse troppo tardi?

Le fiabe classiche e i romanzi per ragazzi dell'800/900 sono l'unica possibile strada per rimanere in vita. Se vogliono perseverare con i film originali finiranno in un burrone e arriveranno inevitabilmente alla chiusura in non più di 10 anni.

La forza della disney sta nel prendere storie note e renderle meravigliosamente in animazione (meglio se tradizionale), non nel creare storie nuove...quella è sempre stata una prerogativa della Pixar. Hanno bisogno di utilizzare quegli archetipi che i romanzi/le fiabe classiche presentano: non è un caso che ancora oggi i bambini si riescano ad appassionare a Il piccolo lord, Oliver twist, piccole donne, Anna dai capelli rossi etc.

Exclusive: Jennifer Lee tells us about the future of Frozen – and reflects on the film's legacy

Frozen screenwriter and co-director Jennifer Lee is headed back into the unknown with Frozen 3 – and, thanks to the scale of the story so far, she's potentially embarking on a fourquel, too.

GamesRadar+ met with Lee to talk about Wish, the latest animated film from Disney that's timed to mark the studio's 100th anniversary. Lee, who is Walt Disney Animation Studio's chief creative officer, co-wrote the new film.

After Disney CEO Bob Iger recently revealed that a fourth Frozen film could be in the works, we asked Lee if that meant the threequel was being conceived as part of a larger whole.

"We're really excited about where they're going, and we just have a lot of story to tell with that direction we're going in," Lee shares. "So, I think, in my head, there may be enough for two in that story. But I'm really, really loving working with the team and where they're going."

That's certainly an intriguing tease – and there are plenty of directions Frozen 3 (and 4) could be headed, considering Frozen 2 ended with Anna as Queen of Arendelle and Elsa coming into her powers in the Enchanted Forest.

While Wish is celebrating Disney's 100th anniversary, Frozen is approaching a big milestone of its own: its 10th anniversary is this November 27. The film is nothing less than a cultural phenomenon, so how does Lee see Frozen's legacy a decade later?

"What I love about Frozen, I think it was unexpected for all of us," she says. "And we went into it the way we go into every story, which is really from character out. And the fact that it became something special, and that these sisters – really at the core is two sisters – I think for a lot of us was just very exciting, about, 'Who are those protagonists that we can tell these great stories of women, particularly women who are on each other's side, not against each other?' That was really exciting, that people responded to it. So I think in some ways, Frozen, to me, has encouraged us to keep telling different kinds of stories of different kinds of heroes."

As Lee explains, Frozen also helped to inspire Wish and its spirited heroine Asha. "I think there wouldn't be Asha without Anna and Elsa, and this young woman who is her own hero," she says. "She has incredible courage, and what she has is one of the most generous wishes in our legacy. And I think that spirit of deciding, 'Who is she and where can she go?', for me comes off of all that I learned on Frozen."
