Disney Television Animation is going back to Never Land, beginning production on the animated series Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

The series will feature classic Peter Pan characters Captain Hook and Smee, as well as a new crew of kid pirates lead by the fearless Jake. Designed as an interactive 2D and CG-animated series for preschoolers, the series will emphasize teamwork.

“Jake and the Never Land Pirates will introduce preschoolers to the excitement of Never Land, an imaginative, engaging pirate world for kids and a wonderfully memorable one for their parents,” says Nancy Kanter, senior VP Playhouse Disney Worldwide. “Comedic foils Captain Hook and his well-meaning sidekick, Smee, will continue to amuse young kids, as the enthusiastic Jake leads his team of kid pirates on adventures that model teamwork for our young viewers.”

The voice cast includes Colin Ford as Jake, Disney Channel star Madison Pettis as Izzy and Jonathan Morgan Heit as Cubby. The series will feature original pirate jigs and rock chanteys, as well as music underscore by Loren Hoskins and Kevin Hendrickson of the Portland, Oregon-based pirate rock band, Captain Bogg & Salty. Rob LaDuca is executive producer and Howy Parkins is director.

The series will be broadcast on Playhouse Disney outlets around the world. A premiere date was not given.

Non credo... è Playhouse ed è presso i Disney Television Animation... quello dovrebbe essere per maschietti più grandicelli e fatto dai Toon Disney

Considerando quel che penso della tv Disney di ora potrebbe non aver senso che io intervenga qui ma per codivisione soprattutto con chi non mi conosce non posso che esprimere le mie perplessità per prodotti che di Disney non hanno nulla e non mi sembrano validi di per sè.

Immagino che la serie sia un classico 2D, ma che negli effetti speciali farà uso di 3D, magari per creature marine o scene di battaglia...

Ma scusate se è un prodotto per bambini, come tutto su Playhouse Disney, dubito che alla fine vi piacerà.....si sono cartoon carini, ma alla fine sono proprio per una fascia che va dai 2 ai 10 anni...
Playhouse Disney è un canale istruttivo....grazie ai Numerotti mio nipote ha imparato a contare fino a 20!

Il 13 febbraio sul canale americano Disney Channel arriverà un nuovo special televisivo tratto dalla serie animata "Jake e i Pirati dell'Isola che non c'è". il titolo sarà "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns" (tradotto: "Jake e i Pirati dell'Isola che non c'è: Il Ritorno di Peter Pan").

Jake and the Never Land Pirates is roughly one-year-old. The Disney TV Animation production is currently tops among Disney's preschool programming offerings, and currently looks to enter its second year refreshed and ready for another adventure. February 2012 marks an important session in the history of Disney's preschool efforts -- no doubt including the 24/7 cable channel launch of Disney Junior -- but the month will also hold a few important notes for Jake and the gang when it comes to foiling the beloved Captain Hook and his devotee, Smee.

First up is a new television special, Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns (February 13th; 7:00pm, ET/PT).

In this hourlong item, the crew is treated to a visit from one of their best buddies: Peter Pan.

The 2D series' ongoing culture of teamwork and helping a friend in need are going to be in high demand, particularly when it appears that Hook has finally gained the upper hand on the puny pirates.

In "Peter Pan Returns," the spirited friend from the past returns to hang out with the gang, but something is amiss. Through the course of the show, Peter discovers that his mischievous shadow has gone off to cause some trouble. Furthermore, Peter can't fly without the aid of his shadow, and so asks of Jake, Izzy, Cubby, and their parrot pal Skully, for a bit of help in locating the silhouette. Captain Hook and Smee, fully aware of Pan's predicament, plot to capture the shadow first. In the end, the two propose an ultimatum: leave Never Land and never come back.

In regular Disney fashion, the television special is earning the requisite cross-promotional assistance of Disney Junior's online destination, which includes a brand new shadow-matching game (at DisneyJunior.com/PeterPan), and later, home video by way of a two-disc DVD (+digital) release currently scheduled for April 3, 2012 ($19.99).

Later in February 2012, Disney Junior will formally premiere the second season of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. The animated series is currently pegged as Disney Channel's top preschool title for a reason, recording, according to the network, solid numbers for Total Viewers (P2+, 2.2 million), Kids 2-5 (1.03 million; 6.1 rating share), Boys 2-5 (648,000; 7.5 rating), and Women 18-49 (424,000; 0.6 rating). Season Two of Jake and the Never Land Pirates will bow on Monday, February 20, 2012. New episodes will air daily at 8:30 am (ET/PT).

Comunque velocissimo l'arrivo in Italia.
