Fuori Phoenix dentro Jude Law. Chi prenderà ora il ruolo della Robbie?
Da Variety Jude Law to Play Captain Hook in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Peter Pan’ (EXCLUSIVE) “Pete’s Dragon” director David Lowery is on board to direct the project. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks, and Jim Whitaker is producing. Disney’s 1953 animated classic is still the most successful adaptation of the J.M. Barrie novel about Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn’t age and the children whom he whisks away to the magical world of Neverland. Many other studios have made their own versions on the big and small screens, including Steven Spielberg’s “Hook” starring Robin Williams and Joe Wright’s “Pan,” both of which disappointed at the box office. If the deal closes, Law would follow in the footsteps of Dustin Hoffman, Jason Isaacs and, most recently, Garrett Hedlund as actors who have played the iconic pirate antagonist in previous retellings of the story. Sources say the release is expected to be theatrical and not go the Disney Plus streaming route. Disney is coming off a very strong year of live-action adaptations with both “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” grossing $1 billion at the global box office. Disney was so happy with its “Aladdin” live-action film that it has already begun developing a sequel to the film. Law is coming off of HBO’s “The New Pope.” He was also recently seen in Paramount’s “Rhythm Section.” He is also set to reprise his role of Dumbledore in the next “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” installment. He is repped by CAA, Julian Belfrage Associates and Jackoway Austen. |

Dal sito The Disinsider:
Jude Law in Talks to Play Captain Hook in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Peter Pan’ Hot off Captain Marvel, actor Jude Law is now in talks to play the villainous Captain Hook in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Peter Pan. Joaquin Phoenix was reportedly someone Disney was circling but ultimately passed on the opportunity, paving the way for Law. I also heard Star Wars star Adam Driver was also looked at but passed. Jude Law joins Ever Anderson (daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson) who is set to play Wendy, while newcomer and native New Zealand actor Alexander Molnoy who will play the titular role of Peter. David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is on board to direct with Toby Halbrooks, who co-wrote Pete’s Dragon, is on board wrote the most recent draft for the film. Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) will be producing the project alongside Joe Roth (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). Casting for other major roles is currently ongoing. Production is expected to begin this Summer in Vancouver, Canada. As of now, there is no official release date for Peter Pan, but we hear the studio was aiming for a 2021 theatrical release before the COVID-19 outbreak threw a wrench in all those plans.

Dal sito Cinemablend: Did Will Smith Pass On Captain Hook Role For Disney’s New Peter Pan? Disney's film productions are still largely shut down but that's not stopping the studio from moving forward on the next batch of live-action remakes of its animated classics. We know that we're getting a new Little Mermaid down the road, and recently it was confirmed that the next take on Peter Pan, Disney's Peter Pan & Wendy, was also moving forward when it was revealed that Jude Law has taken the role of Captain Hook. While Jude Law seems like a solid choice for the part of Captain Hook, the word on the street is that other actors were considered for the part, and even offered the role. One report claims that the first person given the chance to play Hook was somebody who was already on board another Disney remake, Aladdin's Genie, Will Smith. Justin Kroll @krolljvar: Since there is talk of the people that passed on this role before Law took it, the first person who Disney considered for the role of HOOK coincidentally also had another live-action Disney franchise under his belt before ultimately passing Variety's Justin Kroll, says that Will Smith was the first person offered the role of Captain Hook, though he ultimately passed on the part. While there's no confirmation that this is true, there's a lot of reason to believe that it probably is. Will Smith's name was first rumored connected to Disney in relation to a role in the Dumbo live-action remake before it was announced he would become the Genie in Aladdin. Clearly, Disney had a lot of interest in Smith and he's a huge star, so why wouldn't Disney want to get him for as many roles as possible? It's unclear what the ultimate reason was for Will Smith turning down Captain Hook. He may have simply not loved the role, or he may have decided that one Disney live-action remake is enough for him, especially considering that all indications are we'll be getting a sequel to Aladdin at some point in the future, so Smith is already going to be remaining close to Disney for the foreseeable future. Will Smith isn't the only name that's being rumored as one that turned down the part of Captain Hook. It's also being said that Adam Driver was offered the role but also decided to say no. Still, even if Jude Law wasn't the first choice, it doesn't mean he won't be the best choice. There's no denying his talents and Law is certainly capable of playing the villain with a touch of ruthlessness or charm, or both, depending on what this version of Captain Hook will be. Still, the deck is stacked against him and Peter Pan & Wendy we have yet to see a live-action Peter Pan movie really catch on with audiences. While Steven Spielberg's Hook has become popular today, it wasn't when it was released, and the last two attempts at a live-action Peter Pan met with similar fates. The definitive film Peter Pan is still the Disney animated version. Perhaps that will be the difference that will allow this live-action version to succeed where others have failed. |

Da The Disinsider Disney’s Live-Action ‘Peter Pan’ Moves Production Start to March 2021 Last week, came the news that Jude Law (Captain Marvel) had signed on to play the villainous Captain Hook in Disney’s live-action adaptation Peter Pan. Well, with everything going on in the world with COVID-19, it looks like production on the film won’t begin until next year. According to a DGC-BC production list, Peter Pan is expected to start filming under the working title Bonfire in Vancouver, Canada on March 8, 2021, and should wrap by June 30, 2021. This is a hopeful sign, as major studios slowly restart their various productions by adding strict health and safety measures for cast and crew working on the projects. However, it should be noted that despite tentative dates set, things can change in an instant. The delay will also give the studio some time to cast other key roles including Tinkerbell, Mr. Smee, Tiger Lily, and the rest of the Darling family. Read: Disney+ ‘The Mighty Ducks’ Series Looking To Resume Filming In August Also set to star in the film are Ever Anderson (daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul W. Production was originally expected to begin early this in Vancouver, Canada. As of now, there is no official release date for Peter Pan, but we hear the studio was aiming for a 2021 theatrical release before the COVID-19 outbreak threw a wrench in all those plans. |

Quindi alcuni film necessariamente andranno in produzione.

Dal sito Flaunt: EVER ANDERSON | AN ARTICULATION Q: When was the last time you felt invincible? Ever Anderson: Well that’s easy for me to answer. Two days ago when I found out after a month of waiting that I got the part of “Wendy” in Disney’s Peter and Wendy, which is basically the story of Peter Pan!! Q: That’s incredible! You must be so excited. Ever Anderson: I am. I just feel like Wendy, the girl that doesn’t ever want to grow up! I wanted this part so bad, it’s all I could think about. Q: How did you find out you had won the role of Wendy? Ever Anderson: I was having a sleepover at my best friend’s house when my parents called me on FaceTime. My mom asked if I was alone, so I took myself into a closet where I could have some privacy. My mom stared at me for a long moment with a very serious face and then broke into a huge smile and said, ‘YOU GOT THE PART!’ I screamed at the top of my lungs, and my best friend immediately knew why I was so excited. I worked really hard perfecting my British accent and I can’t wait to start filming. I’ll be shooting all summer. Q: Have you shared it with anyone else? Ever Anderson: Everyone in my family knows and there is a teacher at school who knew that I was up for the role, so I told her. And now I have told you. |

Sarà così, Trilli è nera.
Da Deadline ‘Grown-ish’ Star Yara Shahidi To Play Tinker Bell In Disney’s Live-Action ‘Peter Pan’ Pic EXCLUSIVE: Disney continues to make strides in diversifying its classic characters and is doing it again as sources tell Deadline that Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi is set to play Tinker Bell in David Lowery’s Peter Pan and Wendy. This would mark the first time a person of color has filled the role that traditionally has featured a white actress and follows in the footsteps after Disney set Halle Bailey to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid. Shahidi joins Jude Law, who will play Captain Hook, as well as Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will play the title characters. Lowery is on board to direct the project and also co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker is producing. Disney’s 1953 animated classic is still the most successful adaptation of the J.M. Barrie novel about Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn’t age, and the children he whisks away to the magical world of Neverland. Many other studios have made their own versions on the big and small screens including Steven Spielberg’s Hook starring Robin Williams and Joe Wright’s Pan, both of which disappointed at the box office. In novel and films, Tinker Bell is a fairy and Pan’s closest friend and was famously played by Julia Roberts in Spielberg’s retelling. In recent years, Disney has been open to any actor playing a role that originally was limited to Caucasian talent, making waves after setting Bailey to play the mermaid Ariel. With Tinker Bell, the studio and Lowery wanted to do the same from the get-go and quickly pursued Shahidi, whose star has been on the rise for some time. Shahidi had her breakout role on the ABC sitcom Black-ish as Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross’ daughter Zoey. Her character became so much a fan favorite that she was given the spinoff series Grown-ish, which chronicles Zoey’s college years. Following the success of the show, ABC Studios recently signed her to an overall deal. On the film side, she recently starred in the YA adaptation of The Sun Is Also a Star opposite Charles Melton. |
