A riprova che i parchi a tema hanno un pubblico di fan...Eccome se ce l'hanno.

Disney’s Building Of Disneyland; Cavalry Media To Produce

EXCLUSIVE: Deadline has learned that David Gordon Green is set to direct a movie at Disney Studios for Disney+ about Walt Disney’s journey to building Disneyland, the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

The news comes days before Gordon’s Halloween Kills opens, the sequel to the highest-grossing Halloween movie of all time It was released in 2018 and racked up $255.6 million.

Evan Spiliotopoulos, who has a history writing on such Disney projects as The Jungle Book 2, Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure and the $1.26 billion-grossing live-action reboot of Beauty and the Beast, is set to write. Cavalry Media and producer Jason Reed spent a year developing the pitch before bringing it to Disney.

Spiliotopoulos’ credits also include the $165M-grossing The Huntsman: Winter’s War, the $245M WW-grossing Hercules; and this year’s Snake Eyes and The Unholy.

Allison Erlikhman will oversee for Disney Studios. Dana Brunetti and Matt DelPiano at Cavalry Media will produce with Reed. Reed produced Disney’s live-action take on Mulan last year, and was an EP on Paramount’s 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Jessica Matthews, who works with Reed, will serve as EP.

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955 and it’s the only Disney theme park built under the supervision of Walt Disney. He bought a 160-acre site near Anaheim in 1953, and broke ground in 1954. One of Disney’s earliest memos on the park, then billed the “Mickey Mouse Parks,” was to the studio production designer Dick Kelsey back in 1948. Among Disney’s inspiration for Disneyland were Henry Ford’s Museum and Greenfield Village, which itself contained a Main Street and steamboat rides. Other muses were Tivoli Gardens in Denmark, Colonial Williamsburg, the Century of Progress in Chicago, and the New York’s World Fair of 1939. In funding the park, Disney hooked up with ABC and created a show called Disneyland, with the network co-financing the park.

The most recently made movie from Disney about its maestro was 2013’s Saving Mr. Banks, in which Tom Hanks played Walt Disney in his pursuit of the Mary Poppins IP from reluctant author P.L. Travers, portrayed by Emma Thompson. The pic was nominated for an Oscar and grossed close to $118M worldwide.

Green’s Halloween Kills, which will debut in theaters and on streaming service Peacock day-and-date Friday, is looking to open to $40M, a healthy number for the current domestic box office landscape. The sequel is from Miramax, Blumhouse and Universal.

Green is repped by CAA and Cinetic Media. Spiliotopoulos is represented by WME, Cover 1 Entertainment, Inc., Fourth Wall Management and Marks Law Group.

Sì, è vero quello che dici day. Ma la sceneggiatura si sente dai dialoghi. Ora, glieli possono modificare quanto vuoi, ma lo "stile" di Spiliotopoulos si riconosce benissimo. E, semplicemente, scrive roba imbarazzante. Nessuno parla come lui fa parlare i personaggi.

Sarà ma sono convinto che gli interventi di altri sceneggiatori (sicuri) salveranno lo script.

Non sarà Tom Hanks...Ma figurerà anche il fratello di Walt chiaramente...

Da The Disinsider

Director David Gordon Green Discusses His Disneyland Movie

Earlier this week, it was reported that Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green is attached to direct a movie centered on the creation of Disneyland, Walt Disney’s original theme park. Even Spiliotopoulos, who wrote Disney’s billion-dollar hit live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, is set to write.

While speaking with Collider for Halloween Kills press, David Gordon Green discussed his approach to making a movie based on the Happiest Place on Earth, and to the delight of hardcore Disney fans, not only will Walt Disney play a pivotal role, his number-crunching brother Roy Disney will too:

“It’s about the brotherhood of Walt and Roy Disney and it’s interesting because you see, and even I saw the headline yesterday, I was, wow, that does sound… I was thinking this cool artistic, collaborative brotherhood story. Then you look at it as it’s written and think about the institution that is Disney around this. And you’re, “No, that’s a big story”. But to me, it’s how do these two guys engineer something that became Disneyland.“

He also revealed the Disney+ project has yet to be written but says it will take place throughout several years, meaning through Walt’s initial idea of Disneyland, to development, construction, up to opening day:

“Well, it has yet to be written, so that’s kind of evolving, but it’s basically the creation, the construction of Disneyland. So that’s a several-year project for sure.“

Lastly, the site asked the director if he intends to consider bringing Tom Hanks, a distant relative of Walt Disney, to play the iconic figure, who he played in 2013’s Saving Mr. Banks:

“I think that’s been done. I think I haven’t even gotten that far into to how you embody that character, but I love the story and I love the… I have so many valuable relationships from the people that I’ve worked with, the people that I’ve butted heads with, the people I’ve been inspired by.”

While the project is clearly on David Gordon Green’s mind, it will likely be a few years before we see the movie hit Disney+. Gordon Green still has to film Halloween Ends, which begins production in January. He is also developing a trilogy based on the Exorcist and also working on HBO’s Hellraiser. It wouldn’t be shocking to see additional information on the Disneyland movie revealed during next year’s D23 Expo. Until then, we all have to wait patiently.
