"Prior to any official announcement, Walt Disney Studios has announced intentions to bring the Muppet holiday classic, Muppet Christmas Carol, to Disney Blu-ray on November 6, 2012 as a 20th anniversary edition featuring all new bonus features.

Credo sia la copertina dell'edizione '20° Anniversario' pubblicata anche nel Regno Unito, cioè Blu-Ray + Digital Copy ("It's Not Easy Being Scroodge Special Edition").

La scena con il brano 'When Love Is Gone' non è presente in tutte le edizioni europee, anche in quella australiana e giapponese. L'edizione 2012 di The Muppet Christmas Carol ha principalmente il "Theatrical Cut" (85:37) presentato in widescreen 16:9 (1.85:1). Solo nel DVD dell'edizione "Collector's", uscito negli States, è presente anche una versione del film, in 4:3, completa di 'When Love Is Gone'.

L'edizione USA, uscita il 6 novembre 2012, è stata pubblicata in 2 versioni, entrambe con slipcover:
