Novità:

* Giglio Tigrato avrà un ruolo fondamentale nel film.
* Per il ruolo si cercano ragazze Native Americane tra i 18 e i 25 anni (il personaggio avrà tra i 15 e i 16 anni).
* Giglio Tigrato avrà come animale un cavallo.
* Le riprese inizieranno ad Aprile 2020 in Canada e si concluderanno ad Agosto 2020.

Dal sito The Disinsider:

EXCLUSIVE: Tiger Lily To Play A Pivotal Role In Disney’s ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’

Two weeks ago reports surfaced that Disney’s live-action Peter Pan remake was moving forward and retitled Peter Pan & Wendy. With casting underway, we have learned additional information regarding Tiger Lily.

We have learned that the studio is looking to cast Native American or First Nations actresses ages 18 to 25 to play Tiger Lily (character will be 15/16 in the film). The character will also have a horse sidekick. Additionally the character will play a much larger role than portrayed in Disney’s animated version, which featured Tiger Lily in a more “damsel in distress” type of role.

Here is a quick breakdown of the character we’ve obtained:

Tiger Lily is indigenous to Neverland with a bow at her back, she is both a fierce warrior and a serene and benevolent leader who protects Neverland and the lost boys and girls from the dastardly Captain Hook. This character will speak in both English and a native language.

Peter Pan & Wendy will begin production this April in Canada and is expected to wrap in August.

David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is still on board to direct with Toby Halbrooks, who co-wrote Pete’s Dragon, is on board wrote the most recent draft for the film. Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) will be producing the project alongside Joe Roth (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) which is currently casting.

Back in 2018, we reported that the project could make its way to Disney+, and as far as we know that is still the case. However, Disney has declined to comment on that report as of now.

The Disney company is going to have a busy Spring 2020 as their live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs begins filming in March, while The Little Mermaid will also begin filming April. As of now Disney has not announced the release date for these project but rest assured they are set.

All’impossiviso diventa Peter e Wendy e Pocahontas

Peter Pan "any ethnicity"!

Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy to film in Canada

This is the latest live-action remake following the success of Jungle Book, Dumbo, Lion King and Aladdin, among others

Disney’s newly titled Peter Pan and Wendy film is expected to shoot in Canada from 17 April to August.
David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is directing and co-screenwriting with Toby Halbrooks on the live-action remake, which is being produced by Jim Whitaker, who’s previously worked on Disney films such as A Wrinkle in Time and The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
Peter Pan and Wendy is based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale of a boy who doesn’t grow up and recruits three siblings in London to join him on a magic adventure to the enchanted Neverland. One of the smaller characters, Tiger Lily, who helps protect Neverland and the children from the dastardly Captain Hook, is expected to be given a more prominent role in this film. Casting for a Native American or First Nations actress to play the part is underway.
Several remakes and spin-offs have happened over the years with mixed success. Warner Bros.’ $150m Peter Pan origins story titled Pan, starring Hugh Jackman, was considered a flop back in 2015, taking just $130m worldwide. But Disney will be hoping to have better luck, recapturing the spark and success of its 1953 animation version.
Peter Pan and Wendy is the latest in a long line of live-action remakes at Disney, including Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, Mary Poppins Returns, Dumbo, Lion King and Aladdin. With more in the pipeline, including The Little Mermaid, which is due to shoot at Pinewood Studios; Cruella, which has been filming at Shepperton Studios; Pinocchio; Snow White, and a sequel to The Jungle Book from director Jon Favreau.

Dal sito The Illuminerdi:

DISNEY EYEING MARGOT ROBBIE FOR PETER PAN AND WENDY: EXCLUSIVE

Walt Disney Studios is gearing up for production on their live-action adaptation of Peter Pan, titled Peter Pan and Wendy. With casting currently underway, the studio is looking to add some big names onto the project.

The Illuminerdi has exclusively learned that Disney offered Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie the role of Tinker Bell, Peter Pan’s longtime sidekick. It should be noted at this time, only an offer has been sent out and it is unclear if she has had any formal discussion with the studio.

We also obtained a breakdown of the classic character:

Peter’s partner-in-crime and voice of reason with the voice of a million tiny bells, Tink helps the Darlings avoid danger during their Neverland adventure. When Peter, the Darlings, and/or the Lost Boys are in trouble, she uses her magical powers to save the day.

It is unknown if this iteration of Tinker Bell has anything to do with the long-in-development Tinker Bell origin film that Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde) was previously attached to, but it sounds like she’ll have a lot to do with the original Disney interpretation of the character.

TINKER BELL MAKES MAGIC IN PETER PAN AND WENDY

Tinker Bell has been a staple for the Walt Disney Company for over 65 years, making her debut appearance in the 1953 animated film. Her character was a major standout in Peter Pan and fans took notice, as she went on to be featured in many Walt Disney ventures. This included appearances on television in the form of the show Disneyland, which was done to promote the theme park Walt Disney was hoping to complete. In addition, she was on Walt Disney Presents, Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, and finally, The Wonderful World of Disney.

Tinker Bell has continued her flight during Disneyland’s fireworks and remains one of the most loved Disney characters. The character has since had her own straight to DVD animated films released, and even appeared in ABC’s reimagining of famous fairy tales, Once Upon A Time.

Peter Pan And Wendy will be directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon), and Toby Halbrooks is co-writing along with him.. Jim Whitaker will produce, and the production is expected to begin on April 13th in Vancouver and wrap towards the end of August. There have been reports that the film could land Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, but that has yet to be confirmed.

È follia, come ariel nera.

Da The Disinsider

Joaquin Phoenix Reportedly Offered The Role of Captain Hook In Disney’s ’Peter Pan and Wendy’

The actor is up for an Academy Award for his 2019 performance in Joker.

Last week, the internet was buzzing when reports surfaced that Margot Robbie (Birds of Prey) had been offered the role of Tinkerbell in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Peter Pan, now titled Peter Pan and Wendy. Well, the studio has reached out to another DC alum.

According to The Illuminerdi, Joker star Joaquin Phoenix has been offered the role of Peter’s nemesis, the villainous Captain Hook. An interesting tidbit I can share is this film will break the tradition where the actor playing Hook also plays Mr. Darling, in this film two different actors will be cast in those roles respectively.

Like with the Margot Robbie/Tinkerbell report, Phoenix has only received an offer, and it’s likely the studio has other actors on the table. So let’s be clear this doesn’t mean Phoenix has the role at this time.

Here is a breakdown of Captain Hook provided by the site:

An unhinged, dramatic, and menacing swordsman, who is out to seek revenge on Peter Pan for cutting his hand off and feeding it to a crocodile. When Hook takes Wendy’s brothers John and Michael hostage he uses them as bait to lure Peter Pan.

The site also obtained a breakdown for Hook’s first-mate, Smee:

A rotund fellow with a great grey beard, Smee is Captain Hook’s main henchman and servant who will do anything to please his captain.

Peter Pan and Wendy will begin production this April in Vancouver, Canada and is expected to wrap in late-August.

David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is on board to direct with Toby Halbrooks, who co-wrote Pete’s Dragon, is on board wrote the most recent draft for the film. Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) will be producing the project alongside Joe Roth (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). Casting for other major roles is currently ongoing.

Back in 2018, we reported that the project could make its way to Disney+, and as far as we know that is still the case. However, Disney has declined to comment on that report as of now.

Phoenix is at the height of his career, he just earned himself an Academy Award nomination for his role as the classic DC villain the Joker, the actor took home the Golden Globe and the SAG for his portrayal. He also lent his voice to Kenai in Walt Disney Animations Brother Bear in 2003.
