Panelists include: @NBCGrimm co-creator @creator_grimm, @OnceABC creators @EdwardKitsisLA & Adam Horowitz, screenwriter Linda Woolverton (Alice in Wonderland, @Maleficent), screenwriter/LMU professor Kelly Younger (Muppets Haunted Mansion) & more TBA; moderator: @steveisholbert.

IP is king, and this panel will unpack adapting the original IP: fairy tales. They’ve graced screens in several mediums: hour dramas (Once Upon a Time), police procedurals (Grimm), TV anthologies (Tell Me A Story), horror (Gretel & Hansel), period romances (Ever After)... jukebox musicals (Amazon’s Cinderella), action movies (The Huntsman: Winter’s War), and more. We’ll explore the craft of pitching, developing, and twisting these tales for TV and film. Some things we’ll discuss will include: Why are fairy tales timeless? How do you tell old stories in new ways? Can you stray too far from the source material? How do you tell personal stories using public domain? What are the challenges of stretching these tales over 90 minutes or several seasons? Presented by WGAW’s Genre Committee; WGA members only – RSVP:

Il 23 agosto su Zoom si terrà un evento dedicato alla scrittura delle fiabe, in cui parteciperanno tra gli altri la sceneggiatrice Linda Woolverton e Edward Kitsis e Adam Horowitz (gli scrittori di C'era una Volta), e si approfondirà lo studio delle fiabe dal drama, all'horror, al procedural, all'antologia, alle storie d'amore d'epoca al film d'azione e al film musicale e altro.
