Dal sito Variety:

Falcon-Winter Soldier Limited Series in the Works With ‘Empire’ Writer (EXCLUSIVE)

Marvel heroes Falcon and Winter Soldier are teaming up for a potential limited series at the Disney streaming service. Variety has learned exclusively that Malcolm Spellman has been tapped to write a series featuring the two superheroes, which is currently in development at the streamer. It is the first of the proposed Marvel limited series to find a writer.

News of the development comes after Variety exclusively reported that Marvel and Disney were prepping multiple limited series centered on characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who had yet to appear in their own standalone films. At that time, it was reported that characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch would also be the subject of their own limited series. The series are expected to be six to eight episodes.

Unlike other Marvel shows like “Daredevil” and “The Punisher,” the series on the Disney streaming service will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, who has headed up the MCU for years. The shows are also expected to have large budgets compared to other television projects.

Dal sito Hollywood Reporter:

Other known series will focus on Loki, the god of mischief played by Tom Hiddleston, and a team-up of Falcon and Winter Soldier, the heroes played by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, respectively. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been hired to write the latter effort.

Dal sito MCU Cosmic:

Speaking of the streaming service, this is not something I've run on the site. This is something I was working to confirm on the site but I've heard enough to at least put it out there. We know that there are two streaming service series that Marvel Studios is working. There's Loki and Scarlet Witch. There are at least, there could be more, two other streaming service shows that are coming out. This is not confirmed, it's just a rumor. I guess I want to confirm it more. One may involve Nick Fury. So, there might be a Nick Fury show on the streaming service.

Dal profilo Twitter di Peter Sciretta:

Yes, Disney is working on other Marvel Cinematic Universe shows for their streaming service. But no, from what I’ve heard it’s not a Nick Fury series as reported recently on those unreliable Marvel fan sites. It’s something bigger and better. Something more.

Dal sito MCU Cosmic:

This is the Nick Fury series. So, if you remember the rumor about a Nick Fury series, and some people said it was fake...Basically, it's going to be the Nick Fury series as well because it's a SHIELD series with Bucky and Falcon, Nick Fury, possibly Maria Hill, and Agent 13 all showing up in the show. So it's going to be Marvel Studios doing their version of Agents of SHIELD.

Dal sito Boards 4 Channel:

Unlike Loki and Vision & Scarlet Witch, which are relatively self-contained, Falcon & the Winter Soldier will be deeply ingrained in the events of Phase 4, and features Falcon and Winter Soldier being recruited by SHIELD to prevent anarchist group Ultimatum from enforcing a secret plan developed by Hydra to destroy the United Nations. The duo must also deal with John Walker, a soldier recruited by the U.S. government to become the new Captain America, who slowly goes insane and becomes a threat. The project is described as a “spy thriller” with lots of twists and turns, and it relies heavily on Falcon and Bucky’s dynamic, in the same vein as Lethal Weapon or 48 Hours. Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter will be the team’s contact with SHIELD, and Samuel L. Jackson will make appearances as Nick Fury. William Hurt is also in talks to appear as Secretary Thaddeus Ross.

SDCC 2019: Marvel Studios' 'Falcon & Winter Soldier' on Disney+ Details Revealed

Feige brought news on the Disney+ original series Marvel Studios' The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which pairs up two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most popular heroes—Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon and Bucky Barnes AKA The Winter Soldier—in a series of action-filled adventures as they fight together against evil after the events of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame.

Anthony Mackie (The Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier) came on stage to greet the fans, and it was revealed that Daniel Brühl will return as the villain Baron Zemo.

Marvel Studios' The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set to debut on Disney+ in the fall of 2020.

‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Will Introduce Lemar Hoskins aka Battlestar

It looks like Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to give us more heroes and villains in the upcoming Disney+ series which is currently in production.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, the MCU is introducing Lemar Hoskins, aka Battlestar. The site obtained set photos that feature Wyatt Russell’s John Walker walking into a flower shop named Hoskins Family Flowers. Russell filmed scenes inside and outside the store while speaking to an unknown actor.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Lemar Hoskins was once a wrestler who had been giving superhuman strength through a treatment administered by the Power Broker. Hoskins became one of the Bold Urban Commandos, or “Buckies,” who wore variations on Captain America’s costume and claimed to be supporters of Captain America’s rival, John Walker aka U.S. Agent. So think of Battlestar as U.S. Agent’s Bucky.

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Emily VanCamp is also officially to return, VanCamp originated the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before reprising her part in Civil War. Daniel Bruhl will also return as Baron Zemo. Also joining the series in an unknown role is Adepero Oduye (The Big Short).

All six episodes of the miniseries, which will air in August 2020, will be directed by Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaids Tale, The Punisher), with Derek Kolstad (John Wick) apart of the writing team. There are reports that surfaced last week that the series could have some sort of massive viral threat in the series.

Dal sito HN Entertainment:

How Madripoor Could Become An Important Location In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

A couple of set photos from The Falcon & The Winter Soldier have seemingly confirmed that Madripoor will be a setting for a portion of the upcoming Disney+ series.

The fictional Southeast Asian island was specifically used in the X-Men comics along with S.W.O.R.D. (the cosmic version of S.H.I.E.L.D. from X-Men comics which featured Dr. Hank McCoy aka Beast as part of the roster) could be giving fans their first X-Men Easter Eggs introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the main team get their big reboot movie or Deadpool 3.

Madripoor, officially Principality of Madripoor, is an island in Southeast Asia, located in the southern portion of the Strait of Malacca, southwest of Singapore. Its capital and single large city is Madripoor, which is divided between wealthy Hightown and impoverished, crime-ridden Lowtown.

However, there are some specific connections to Marvel characters that Madripoor has that could be explored/teased in the series along with setting up the location to have a larger impact in the future.

WOLVERINE & HULK

Madripoor is most closely connected to Wolverine in his solo comic books and the X-Men as the location first debuted in the New Mutants comics (the feature film is set for release on April 3rd).

Bruce Banner/Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo has voiced his desire to see Hulk fight Wolverine after speaking at the Tokyo Comic-Con.

Stating that in the future he’ll be meeting with Kevin Feige about future Hulk stories and mused wanting to see him interact with Wolverine (Ruffalo hasn’t pitched anything to Marvel yet despite that assumption).

RUFFALO: “Kevin Feige just asked me last week if I had any more ideas or stories for the Hulk. And I said ‘Yeah, I think there’s still some stories to tell’. And he said, ‘Well why don’t you come in and tell me about them and we’ll see if we can find a place for you in the Marvel universe?’”

“Hulk vs. Wolverine. I’d like to see that. Hulk vs. Wolverine.”

While the comments don’t mean we’ll see that, he wanted to see Planet Hulk adapted and elements were added to Thor: Ragnarok (after Universal passed on solo Hulk version).

Something like Mark Millar’s Old Man Logan (an hyper-violent future story) likely won’t be adapted any time soon given the mature nature and setting.

However, there is an interesting tidbit from the Wolverine comics that could be used as at one time Bruce Banner took on the gangster persona of Mister Fixit which led to some adventures on Madripoor and conflicts with Wolverine.

OPHELIA SARKISSIAN AKA VIPER

The island happens to be controlled by Hydra and ruled by Ophelia Sarkissian, who goes by the codenames Viper and Madame Hydra. She uses the island filled with drug kingpins and crime-lords as a way to finance her terrorist operations.

Ophelia is one of the few female legacy crossover Marvel Comics villains as an antagonist of heroes such as Captain America, Wolverine, and Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman (pretended to be Jessica’s biological mother).

We’ve seen shadows of the character in James Mangold’s The Wolverine (mutant version simply using the Viper name and costume) and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Aida mirrored the persona in a digital reality), however, neither of those versions are part of the MCU film hard-canon (Feige has suggested Disney+ shows will be the first to interlink with movies).

Madame Hydra happened to be a boss in the Captain America: The First Avenger tie-in video game Captain America: Super Soldier along with Baron Strucker.

Baron Strucker, a longtime Cap and Nick Fury villain would eventually get a modern MCU adaptation in Avengers: Age of Ultron as the one behind the creation of Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver only to be killed off-screen by Joss Whedon.

A group that could replace HYDRA very well might be Serpent Society (was teased with the fake title of Captain America: Civil War) which was once led by Ophelia as Viper after she usurped leadership from Sidewinder.

The group took jobs from HYDRA, A.I.M., The Maggia (Marvel’s mafia), and Kingpin/The Hand having their headquarters in Madripoor would make sense as they could be untouchable via the Sokovia Accords as superheroes would need permission to venture there. Exploiting the Accords for the benefit of villains wouldn’t be hard to imagine given the eventual governmental red tape that Steve Rogers warned against in Captain America: Civil War.

I also could see the Serpent Society have links to The Ten Rings and the MCU’s version of The Hand.

Zemo can’t be all by himself and seeing him align himself with other villainous figures in the MCU would allow him to continue beyond the series and Thunderbolts. Seeing Zemo connect with The Mandarin’s Ten Rings or Viper’s Serpent Society could be fun as way to start assembling a version of The Masters of Evil.

DAKEN

Wolverine’s son Akihiro aka Daken/Dark Wolverine (Dark Avenger member and bisexual character) at one point wrangles control of the island away from Wolverine ally/crime-lord Jessan Hoan aka Tyger Tiger.

Akihiro’s mother Itsu was killed by a brainwashed Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier in the comics, so he would certainly have a beef with Bucky if they ever crossed paths.

There had been rumblings that Marvel was looking to develop a Dark Avengers movie, which could include a character like Daken on the roster of the supervillain team assembled by Norman Osborn.

Other characters that could be tied to Madripoor in some way could be Shang-Chi, The Mandarin/Ten Rings, Betsy Braddock aka Psylocke, Matsu’o Tsurayab (Hand assassin), Arkady Gregorivich Rossovich aka Omega Red (Hand assassin), Tomi Shishido aka Gordgon (Hand/HYDRA, Dawn of The White Light), Jessan Hoan aka Tyger Tiger (Madripoor leader/crime-lord), and Roche (Madirpoor crime-lord).

I guess we’ll have to wait and see how Marvel will tackle the locale in The Falcon & The Winter Soldier once the series begins airing on Disney+ in the fall.

Sebastian Stan Talks ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Filming

Filming on Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is on hold due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Now, Series star Sebastian Stan has revealed some details on production and its tone.

Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that shooting the series felt more like a movie.

“It felt like both. In a lot of ways, it felt like a movie. Again, we’re not finished; we still have some stuff to do. What I loved about it was that, tonally, it was very much in the same world that Captain America: The Winter Soldier was, which was one of my favorite experiences that I’ve ever had, period. So, in a sense, it was grounded and very much in the world as we know it.”

Stan also shared that the series will be loaded with action sequences that are on par with the MCU big screen films.

“But, it’s also really jam-packed with a lot of massive, massive action scenes mixed with deep focus on character. That’s what’s really exciting about this. We’re getting to keep it in the world of the movies, so it’s recognizable that way, but at the same time, these characters are getting so much more mileage for all of us to explore them.”

Lastly, Stan revealed debunked previous rumors that the series left Prague last month with only under a week of filming left to go.

“No, we were probably at least two or three, but don’t quote me on that.”

Sebastian Stan returns alongside Anthony Mackie Sam Wilson aka the Falcon. Also reprising their roles are Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl also return, VanCamp originated the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before reprising her part in Civil War. Bruhl returns as Baron Zemo, who orchestrated the events of Civil War. Newcomers to the MCU for the series include Wyatt Russell (son of Disney Legend Kurt Russell) is John Walker “U.S. Agent.” With Cle Bennett, Carl Lumbly, Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, and Adepero Oduye, all in unknown roles.

All six episodes of the miniseries, will be directed by Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaids Tale, The Punisher), with Derek Kolstad (John Wick) apart of the writing team. There are reports that surfaced that the series could have some sort of massive viral threat, and will introduce the villain turned hero team The Thunderbolts.

The series was expected to debut on Disney+ this August, but with 2/3 weeks of filming left and Black Widow moving to November, it is becoming more likely that the series will have to move its debut to late 2020 or Early 2021, however, that has yet to be confirmed.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: l’emozionante saluto di Sebastian Stan a Praga

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Anthony Mackie aggiorna sullo stato della serie

Intervenendo al Tonight Show di Jimmy Fallon (versione casalinga ovviamente), Anthony Mackie ha aggiornato sulle riprese di The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: gli attori sul set a ottobre, il debutto dello show sarà nel 2021?

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier potrebbe arrivare su Disney+ nel 2021.

Early MCU Characters to Appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

During a recent interview at Script Apart podcast, John Wick creator Derek Kolstad has finally opened up about his involvement with Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier by revealing a new detail about the highly-anticipated MCU series. Kolstad teased that the upcoming series features the appearances of some characters from early MCU movies while also aiming to put the spotlight on secondary characters.

“What I will say is that there are characters from the earliest Marvel movies that are coming back,” Kolstad said. “We’re layering them in and reinventing them in a way that’s gonna shift the storytelling structure. It’s f***ing awesome.”

He added, “Here’s what I’ll say: growing up, everyone would give someone like Robin shit. But Robin’s pretty badass, and became pretty badass in the comics. [We’re] taking secondary characters and putting them in the primary roles, and [as a result] they’re cooler. They’re more interesting. There’s more humanity, more longing, more suffering, and coming to grips with who and what they are.”

John Wick creator Derek Kolstad joined the writing/creative team of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, though details are still under wraps, it seems likely to follow up on Falcon’s new status quo after Avengers: Endgame.

Anthony Mackie (Point Blank) and Sebastian Stan (I, Tonya) will be reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Joining them are MCU veterans Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp, who are set to return as Helmut Zemo and Sharon Carter, respectively. Neither character has appeared onscreen since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.

During the Marvel Studios panel at D23 Expo 2019, it was revealed that Wyatt Russell (Lodge 49, Black Mirror) has joined the series for the role of Marvel Comics character U.S. Agent. Miki Ishikawa (The Terror: Infamy), Desmond Chiam (Now Apocalypse), Carl Lumbly (Doctor Sleep, Supergirl) and Noah Mills (The Enemy Within) have also been cast for the series.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may only run for six episodes, but it will connect with the larger MCU. The series was originally expected to debut in August 2020 but was delayed due to filming setbacks including the ongoing pandemic that temporarily shut down all major TV and film productions.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Toy Reveals Identity of New Captain America

When Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers handed his Captain America shield to his loyal friend Sam Wilson during the ending of Avengers: Endgame, MCU fans have understood that Anthony Mackie will be the one to automatically take on the mantle of Captain America. However, when Wyatt Russell’s casting as U.S. Agent was announced during last year’s D23 Expo, fans have then speculated that Disney+’s upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be adapting a comic book storyline where the government chooses another person to become the next Captain America.

Now, it seems like that fan speculation has been confirmed with the newly-released toy merchandise for the upcoming MCU series which was discovered by MCU Collector (via Instagram). Walgreens’ exclusive Marvel MiniMates toy which you can check out below, featured Russell’s John F. Walker listed as the new Captain America. This might mean that the titular heroes would again be going up against the government in the series with Walker potentially colliding with the duo in some of their missions.

Elijah Richardson Rumored For ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

It looks like Marvel Studios is continuing to build towards an inevitable Young Avengers project. Now, it looks like Elijah Richardson (King Jack) has nailed a pivotal role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Richardson’s IMDb page, via Murphy’s Multiverse, the actor is set to appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Richardson will play Eli Bradley, also know as the Patriot, in a two episode run. The site does state that despite IMDb not being the most reliable place for casting confirmations, they have heard on their own that the Eli Bradley character would make an appearance. Also, IMDb has gotten things correct before.
Read: Nick Offerman Offered Role of Smee in ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’
For those unfamiliar with the character, Eli Bradley is the second Marvel Universe character to use the name Patriot debuted in Young Avengers #1 (April 2005): Eli Bradley, grandson of Isaiah Bradley, an incarnation of Captain America. Isaiah had received his powers (in the limited series Truth: Red, White & Black) as part of an early Super-Soldier Serum experiment tested on African American men in an attempt to reproduce the formula lost after being used to turn Steve Rogers into Captain America. Eli’s mother was conceived before Isaiah’s involvement with the experiment, however, so Eli could not have inherited his grandfather’s powers genetically.
As we mentioned earlier Marvel Studios is building towards introducing the Young Avengers, as a project is in the works for Disney+. Hailee Steinfeld is Kate Bishop and Kathryn Newton is Cassie Lang, both who are apart of the team, it is also possible we see both Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez join the team as well.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, reprise their MCU roles, in addition to Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp. The series will also feature Wyatt Russell, Danny Ramirez, Adepero Oduye, Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly, and Erin Kellyman.
The six-episode original series is directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier debuts on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
