Ma cosa stanno facendo?

Da The Hollywood Reporter

'Spider-Man 3' Jolt: Jamie Foxx Returning as Electro (Exclusive)

How's that for shocking news?
The next Spider-Man movie is getting a major jolt.

Jamie Foxx, who played classic Spidey villain Electro in the Andrew Garfield-starring The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is in final talks to reprise the role for the latest Spider-Man installment, starring Tom Holland and being made by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

Jon Watts, the filmmaker behind Homecoming and last year's Spider-Man: Far From Home, is in the director's chair for the third installment, which Sony has dated for Nov. 5, 2021 — although moviegoers have now come to expect release dates to change amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the supporting cast from the previous movies — including Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori — are expected to be on the call sheet when cameras roll in Atlanta this fall. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing.

Marvel had no comment.

Story details are being kept under the mask, but having Foxx return is a stunner as it shows a further melding of the previous Spider-Man movies into the current Holland series, which is the first one that has Marvel running point on production.

Far From Home began that idea by bringing back J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, the character he played in the Tobey Maguire-starring Spider-Man trilogy, a move that tickled audiences with glee.

Foxx played Electro in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Garfield as Spider-Man. The film failed to impress critics and underperformed at the box office with $708.9 million globally. Those muted box-office returns — along with the 2014 Sony hack — paved the way for Sony to do the unthinkable and strike a deal with Marvel Studios to share the character, leading to Holland starring as the webslinger in the Avengers movies and Marvel talent such as Robert Downey Jr. appearing in Sony's solo Spider-Man films.

Despite the performance of Amazing 2, Foxx remains one of the most in-demand players in Hollywood and his casting is certain to jazz up excitement amongst fans. The actor is currently starring in Project Power, a Netflix superhero drama, and is one of the voice stars in Pixar’s upcoming feature, Soul. He is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment, and Ziffren Brittenham

Da Comicbook

Spider-Man 3: Jamie Foxx Teases Spider-Verse Plot and Confirms His MCU Electro "Won't Be Blue"

Marvel fans erupted after news broke of Jamie Foxx returning to play Electro in Spider-Man 3, starring opposite of Tom Holland. Now Foxx himself has confirmed the news in a since-deleted Instagram post, in which he might have revealed more details about Marvel Studios' mysterious sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. While he will once again be playing Electro, it doesn't look like he'll be playing the same version of the character from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, he might also be teasing some multiversal mayhem is in the works, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe possibly getting their own version of a Spider-Verse crossover.

Foxx posted a series of photos to his Instagram along with the caption that he "won't be blue in this one!! But a thousand percent badass!!!" He then included a piece of fan art that depicts three different versions of Spider-Man standing next to each other, staring up at Electro in the sky.

The art style is reminiscent of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animation, and one of the characters appears to be Miles Morales.

Speculation has been running rampant ever since the news broke with fans theorizing this could tie into the upcoming WandaVision series and the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which are supposed to open up the MCU version of the Multiverse in major ways. WandaVision has already had reports of casting Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in the X-Men movies. With the addition of Foxx reprising his role as Electro alongside J.K. Simmons returning as J. Jonah Jameson, it looks like everything is on the table for Marvel Studios.

Even Marvel boss Kevin Feige previously praised Foxx's work in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the leaked emails from Sony's infamous hack, which led to Spidey joining the MCU in Captain America: Civil War.

"Really love Electro - feels like you may not need the scene in his apartment, which makes him seems completely crazy and hard to relate too [sic]," Feige wrote in a leaked email. "Like the idea that eel goes in his mouth and instead of burrowing, you see it glow within him."

It will be interesting to see how Marvel incorporates Foxx's Electro into the Spider-Man franchise, but fans recognized the studio has earned enough goodwill to trust that the plot will prove to be satisfying.

Spider-Man 3 is currently on track to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.

RUMOR MILL: Kirsten Dunst And Dane DeHaan May Reprise SPIDER-MAN And TASM 2 Roles In The MCU

In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.

It was recently revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Jamie Foxx will reprise the role of Electro in Spider-Man 3. The two franchises are obviously set in different worlds (with different versions of the web-slinger), and it's unclear if the Oscar-winner is set to play the same Electro or a rebooted one.

Either way, fans are convinced that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are teaming up for some sort of "Spider-Verse" event; a move that might make sense after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Now, it's being reported that Kirsten Dunst and Dane DeHaan are also being eyed to reprise the roles of MJ and Harry Osborn from their respective Spider-Man franchises! Apparently, this isn't necessarily for Spider-Man 3, either, so it could be that the Sorcerer Supreme visits their worlds in the Doctor Strange sequel.

Seeing more of Dunst is likely to be welcomed (especially if she's joined by Tobey Maguire's web-slinger), but it's hard to imagine anyone wanting to see more of DeHaan's dreadful interpretation of the Green Goblin.

This rumor feels like an example of an online scooper throwing some guesses at the wall to see what sticks, so don't bank on it happening - unless the three big screen Spider-Men really are being lined up to take on a threat so big that it requires their combined radioactive powers!

Da The Hollywood Reporter

Benedict Cumberbatch Joins ‘Spider-Man 3’ as Doctor Strange (Exclusive)

The move puts Cumberbatch in the mentor role that was previously occupied by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.
The good and strange doctor has been caught in the spider’s web.

Benedict Cumberbatch is putting on the cloak of levitation and will reprise Marvel supernatural hero Doctor Strange for the latest Spider-Man movie installment, starring Tom Holland and being made by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

The move puts Cumberbatch in the mentor role that was previously occupied by Robert Downey Jr., who played Tony Stark/Iron Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and by Samuel L. Jackson in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the latter reprising Nick Fury. The role gives Holland a chance to play opposite seasoned actors, gives Peter Parker a father figure and gives the movies extra star power while also tying them to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This Spider-Man project already has some unexpected ties going for it as it is bringing back Jamie Foxx as Electro, the actor-character combo last seen in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which featured Andrew Garfield as the web-slinging hero.

Having Strange as part of Spider-Man may help explain the returning Electro. Cumberbatch is about to begin shooting Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which will explore alternate realities and some speculate therein lies the cross-section.

Spider-Man 3 is due to begin shooting in Atlanta later in October while Multiverse of Madness is also due to begin shooting this month, although in London. It is unclear when and where Cumberbatch will shoot his scenes.

Marvel and Sony had no comment.

Jon Watts, the filmmaker behind Homecoming and last year's Spider-Man: Far From Home, is in the director's chair for the third installment, which Sony has dated for Dec. 17, 2021, although moviegoers have now come to expect release dates to change thanks to the pandemic.

Most of the supporting cast from the previous movies – Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori and Jacob Batalon — are expected to be on the call sheet when cameras roll in Atlanta.

Cumberbatch and Holland memorably first met up as Strange and Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War.

Cumberbatch is repped by UTA, UK's Conway van Gelder and Sloane Offer.

RUMOR MILL: VENOM Star Tom Hardy Rumored To Be In Consideration For Star-Studded SPIDER-MAN 3

Spider-Man 3 will include Jamie Foxx's Electro and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, and a new rumour claims that Tom Hardy could make an appearance as the SPUMC's Venom. Read on for further details!

In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.

It's no secret that Tom Holland and Tom Hardy are keen for a Spider-Man/Venom crossover, while you have to believe Sony Pictures would love to make it happen too (even with bad reviews, a movie like that would be a huge box office hit for a studio relying heavily on the web-slinger).

Spider-Man 3 recently added Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme, while Jamie Foxx will play Electro after first starring as the villain in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Now, The Direct has shared a rumour suggesting that there's "general interest" from both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to have Tom Hardy's Venom appear in Spider-Man 3. There are no real talks yet, though, and it sounds like this would be no more than just a minor cameo appearance.

However, if it were to open the door for that crossover, that would be a big win for Sony Pictures. Whether Kevin Feige wants to dirty his hands with a character from a movie that boasts 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. We don't know what he made of the box office hit, however, so it's hard to say for sure.

This is just a rumour, but based on how Spider-Man 3 is shaping up, it wouldn't be too shocking!

Da ComicBookMovie

RUMOR MILL: Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Said To Have Signed On For SPIDER-MAN 3

Take this with a huge pinch of salt, but a new rumor doing the rounds claims that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have signed on to reprise their respective Peter Parker roles for Spider-Man 3...

There's been speculation that we could see previous big-screen Spideys Andrew Garfield (TASM 1 and 2) and Tobey Maguire (Sam Raimi's trilogy) return for Spider-Man 3 since the shocking news that Jamie Foxx would reprise the role of Electro broke last week, and now we might just have confirmation.

FandomWire is reporting that both actors have now signed on to suit-up as their respective incarnations of Marvel's iconic Wall-Crawler for the still untitled follow up to Far From Home. Apparently, the plan is for them to show up towards the end of the movie to help Tom Holland's Webhead defeat multiple foes, Electro included.

This obviously suggests that we'll also see other villains from previous films, but no other characters are named.

How much stock should you put in this? Well, if Sony is indeed planning some kind of live-action "Spider-Verse" project here, then Maguire and Garfield's involvement would make sense. But this particular source is only semi-reliable (though they have had a few scoops pan out), and this feels more like an educated guess to drive a bit of traffic their way, to be perfectly honest.

Right at the end of the article they ask any randomers with "insider info" to get in touch, so.. yeah.

What do you guys think? Will we see the three big-screen Spider-Men team up for the movie, or is this just wishful thinking? Be sure to share your thoughts below.

Da We Got This Covered via Patreon

Emma Stone Might Return For Spider-Man 3 As Spider-Gwen

When J.K. Simmons made a surprise cameo as J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it was a welcome return to the fold for an actor that perfectly embodied the character in Sam Raimi’s trilogy. Most fans didn’t even think about any possible connections between the two web-slinging franchises despite Simmons playing the same role for both Sony and Marvel, but then again, we weren’t expecting the upcoming Spider-Man 3 to dive headfirst into the Spider-Verse, either.

Interest was piqued when Jamie Foxx was announced to be returning as The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Electro, and expectations went through the roof when the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s soon-to-be multiverse expert Doctor Strange was also added to the roster. At this stage, it seems inevitable that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will follow suit and officially be confirmed for the superhero sequel, too.

The idea of alternate realities in the Spider-Man franchise presents infinite possibilities, of course, and insider Daniel Richtman now claims that Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy is being eyed for a surprise return as well, and is even wanted to suit up as Spider-Gwen. Taking to Patreon, here’s what he shared:

Heard Emma Stone might return for the Spidey Multiverse thing they are doing in Spider-Man 3 as Spider-Gwen.

The Amazing Spider-Man franchise wasn’t great, but Stone’s performances were among the few highlights of Marc Webb’s duology, and with Gwen Stacy not having been introduced into the MCU yet, there’s definitely a place for the Academy Award winning actress to return. One potential drawback, however, is that the addition of Spider-Gwen might prove to be one costumed superhero too many, especially when including three Spider-Man is going to require a delicate balancing act to avoid the problems that blighted both previous Spidey franchises.

Alfred Molina Rumored To Reprise The Role Of Doctor Octopus In ‘Spider-Man 3’

As if there wasn’t enough mystery surrounding Marvel’s forthcoming Spider-Man film; now there’s another rumor making the rounds that is sure to add some more fuel to the speculative fire.
According to GWW, a news site that’s proven to be a reliable source for several serious scoops in the past, an insider at Marvel Studios has states that Alfred Molina is currently on the set of Spider-Man 3 filming scenes as Otto Octavius a.k.a Doctor Octopus.
Now, it is unclear as to whether he’ll be playing the same character from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, or another iteration of the character altogether. The latter is absolutely possible considering that’s the case with Jamie Foxx. Since being cast in the next Spidey film, Foxx has been extremely transparent about the fact that he’s playing a new version of Electro despite previously playing the character in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

While still unconfirmed by Marvel Studios (or Sony), Molina’s involvement would mean two things if true. First, it would mean that the next installment of the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise is indeed going to be a multiverse movie – more specifically a Spider-Verse movie. The addition of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange to the cast also seemed to hint at this.
Secondly, it would mean that fans will finally get to see the Sinister Six in some form on the big screen.

Page from 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man Annual, where Spider-Man faced off against the Sinister Six (led by Doc Ock) for the first time.
Electro and Doc Ock are only two of the syndicate’s most notable members, but if you include Michael Keaton’s Vulture, Michael Mando’s idle Mac Gargan (a.k.a Scorpion), and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio – assuming that he’s alive – the gang would only be one member away from completion.
Considering that a central villain has yet to be announced or cast, it’s more than likely this is the direction that the film is headed. However, once again, until this is confirmed all anyone can do is speculate.
The untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel is currently in production, and will continue shooting until March of 2021. The film is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021.

Spider-Man 3: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Andrew Garfield ed Emma Stone in trattative?

Charlie Cox Reportedly Back as Daredevil for Spider-Man 3!

With Andrew Garfield, Kirsten Dunst, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Tobey Maguire all in various stages of returning, the multiverse madness for Tom Holland’s third Spider-Manfilm may be expanding further as Charlie Cox has reportedly signed on to reprise his role as Netflix’s Daredevil for the film, according to Murphy’s Multiverse. (Via ComicBook.com)

While Garfield’s casting is currently set, offering him the chance to once again face Jamie Foxx’s Electro after The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Maguire is reportedly still in talks with the two studios for his reprisal of his career-defining role, but should it go through, he will be in good company as on-screen love Kirsten Dunst is also confirmed to return as Mary Jane Watson, while Garfield’s screen romantic partner Emma Stone’s involvement is currently unknown.

Cox’s Daredevil was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Netflix and helped pave the way for spin-offs Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Punisher, the first three of which eventually culminated in the crossover limited series The Defenders. The series received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike across its three-season run and fans were initially disappointed when the streaming platform cancelled the series, but both Netflix and Marvel Studios promised the character would be seen in future MCU projects and Cox has continually expressed a sadness in the cancellation and a desire to reprise the role. All of the Netflix series had loose ties to the cinematic MCU, so his appearance in the film wouldn’t take much explanation.[...]

Da The Illuminerdi

SPIDER-MAN 3: WILLEM DAFOE AND THOMAS HADEN CHURCH NEGOTIATING A RETURN IN MIND-BLOWING SEQUEL: EXCLUSIVE

Spider-Man 3: Willem Dafoe And Thomas Haden Church Negotiating A Return in Mind-Blowing Sequel: Exclusive
The cast of Spider-Man 3 continues to grow as two former supervillains look to make their return.

Last week Disney shook up the superhero world with their onslaught of new content coming to homes via their Disney+ streaming service. New series like What If…? and Loki gave audiences their first in-depth looks at the shows, while other shows like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continued to excite fans.

Even with that embarrassment of riches, there’s still a lot more to come on the theatrical side as well. No project better exemplifies the ambitious approach that Marvel Studios is taking in Phase 4 more than with the eagerly anticipated and untitled, Spider-Man 3.

Over the past few weeks the Spider-Man 3 production has continued to amaze onlookers with their ambitious cast that includes characters from every cinematic incarnation of the Web Crawler. Tobey Maguire has already been spotted reporting for duty, while other outlets have confirmed that Andrew Garfield is back for another spin on the character as well. We’ve reported on Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx among other big names making returns in their villainous roles.

While the news of talented actors like Molina and Foxx returning have set the table and expectations for Spider-Man 3, there are still other important villains that have played an even more crucial role in Peter Parker’s journey.

Previously Fandom Wire reported that the Green Goblin character is intended to return in the sequel. It seems that they were on to something, as Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church are both attached to return to the project as well. According to our source, their deals are still being finalized, but they are indeed a part of the Spider-Man 3 masterplan. Unfortunately, we were unable to get any info on the size of their appearances, however judging by the size of the cast, it’s hard to imagine them being huge.

Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse) played the original Norman Osborn, and Green Goblin, in Sam Raimi’s 2002 blockbuster Spider-Man. in that film, he was both a father figure and first major supervillain that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man faced. Dafoe’s duplicitous performance far outshined the cartoony design of his Green Goblin suit and his schizophrenic monologue into a mirror is still remembered to this day.

Thomas Haden Church (The Peanut Butter Falcon) appeared in 2008’s Spider-Man 3, as the hapless criminal Flint Marko, who would go on to become the Sandman. The sand-based enemy was defeated as well in that film, however the villain is one of the more memorable opponents in Spider-Man’s vast comic book rogue’s gallery. Additionally, the Sandman’s powerset, if used in the sequel, offers a fun visual and an unique gimmick for screenwriters.

Much like with Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Spider-Man 3 offers an unique opportunity to not only bring back world-class actors and fan-favorite characters from the comics, but also to redesign and reimagine these villains. Perhaps we could even get to see the original design for the Green Goblin that never made it to set. It’s unclear what direction director Jon Watts and studio head Kevin Feige will be taking with the new film, but the possibilities continue to grow along with MCU fans’ excitement.

What do you think about Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church negotiating for a Spider-Man 3 return? How in the world will this all fit into one story? Let us know your theories in the comment section below or over on our Twitter!

Sony’s Shared Marvel Universe Plan Will Kickoff With Spider-Man: No Way Home

Sony reveals that Spider-Man: No Way Home may kick-off Sony's shared Marvel Universe, unravelling years of tension to make an MCU crossover possible.

Sony Exec, Sanford Panitch, has hinted that Sony's shared Marvel Universe plan will kick-off with Spider-Man: No Way Home. For years, Sony's film rights to Marvel's Spider-Man have been a convoluted web of tension and confusion. However, by far, the most interesting part of the Spider-Man rights saga, was when Sony and Marvel collaborated to bring Spider-Man into the MCU. The deal brought viewers a slew of films set in the MCU, with Tom Holland taking on the Spider-Man role for six films. The shared ownership raised an interesting idea that MCU's Holland can technically appear in Sony's Marvel films.

Meanwhile, Sony has also continued growing and expanding their own Marvel Universe. Venom was released in 2018, and its sequel will be premiering in 2021. Kraven the Hunter will debut in 2023 and suspiciously will star former MCU-Quicksilver Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Taylor-Johnson's casting is likely coincidence, but it is an interesting MCU and Sony connection. Meanwhile, Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Multiverse, has already craftily introduced the idea of intertwining worlds. Despite connections, teases, and open possibilities, fans have long waited for a clear answer on if, and when, the MCU and Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters will actually cross.

As reported by Variety, Sony Exec, Panitch, has suggested that Spider-Man 3 will kick-off a shared Marvel Universe. While addressing the ongoing tensions and barriers that inhibit MCU Spider-Man from appearing in Sony's Marvel films, Panitch revealed that they do have a plan, which he believes fans are starting to catch onto. Sparing the details, he indicated that the tensions will be resolved, and that things will be a lot clearer when Spider-Man 3 releases. Check out his statement below:

There actually is a plan. I think now maybe it’s getting a little more clear for people where we’re headed and I think when ‘No Way Home’ comes out, even more will be revealed. The great thing is we have this very excellent relationship with Kevin [Feige]. There’s an incredible sandbox there to play with. We want those MCU movies to be absolutely huge, because that’s great for us and our Marvel characters, and I think that’s the same thing on their side. But we have a great relationship. There’s lots of opportunities, I think, that are going to happen.

Spider-Man with Marvel and Sony logos
Panitch was careful not to give fans too many clues about how this tension is going to be resolved, but the gist of his statement is that something will happen in Spider-Man 3 that may open the door for a shared Marvel universe. This, of course, brings fans immediately back to the rumor that Spider-Man 3 will introduce the multiverse and feature former Spider-Man actors, Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire. While Garfield has denied involvement, the theory has still been supported with Alfred Molina's return as Doc Ock for Spider-Man 3 and by WandaVision's setting up of the multiverse. Panitch suggested that Kraven will hold answers as well, which makes one question if Sony's previous and upcoming Marvel films are all connected to the MCU in a way that will be clearer as time progresses.

While it remains to be seen how exactly Spider-Man 3 will set up the shared universe, Panitch seems pretty confident about the future. It is a far cry from the years when Sony and Marvel fought over Holland, grappled for Spider-Man, and nearly pulled out Spider-Man from the MCU completely. The sudden reconciliation and decision to continue sharing the character has long made fans suspect that there was something big in the works behind the scenes. However, this is big news not only for the crossover films that may arise from it, but for the hope it raises for Holland as his six-film contract with Marvel ends with Spider-Man: No Way Home. If the third Spider-Man installment truly does open the doors for Spider-Man to swing between universes, this may not be the last time Holland appears onscreen as Spider-Man.

Willem Dafoe Is Reportedly Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Main Villain

The plot and cast of Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home has been the subject of many rumors and theories over the past few months. According to Collider’s Jeff Sneider, as well as some other insiders, the villain for the upcoming film is going to be massive.

Speaking during the latest episode of his Sneider Cut podcast, Sneider reported that he’s heard that Willem Dafoe will be reprising his role as Norman Osborne/Green Goblin for the film and will be the one leading the Sinister Six in the film. Sneider mentioned that the iconic group of villains would include Electro (Jamie Foxx), Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), and potentially Sandman, Rhino, and Lizard.

After news of the report broke, YouTube personality Grace Rudolph also confirmed the news, posting on social media that she had also heard the news, giving more credence to the story. [...]

SEGUONO SPOILER su Spider-Man: No Way Home
