La Disney sviluppa un film live action su Cip & Ciop Agenti Speciali

La Walt Disney Pictures è al lavoro sull'adattamento cinematografico della serie a cartoni animati Cip & Ciop Agenti Speciali (Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers).

Il film verrà prodotto dalla Mandeville Films/TV (una casa di produzione che fa capo alla stessa Disney e che produce il franchise dei Muppet) e verrà realizzato con una tecnica mista live action e CGI, proprio come i recenti adattamenti di Alvin Superstar prodotti dalla 20th Century Fox. Il progetto è stato ideato dal regista pubblicitario Robert Rugan e successivamente acquisito dalla major. Rugan scriverà ora la sceneggiatura basandosi sulla serie animata del 1989, dove i due scoiattolini (ideati nel 1943) aprono una agenzia di investigazioni. Tra i personaggi inediti della serie vi erano Monterey Jack (un topo forzuto), Scheggia (una topolina bionda e geniale) e Zipper (una mosca).

Adoravo questa serie da bambino, ma un film così sulla falsa riga dei Chipmunk mi fa' davvero paura....
Spero che sarà incentrato più stile misterioso/poliziesco che sul far ridere ad ogni costo....

Oh no... non credo mi piacerebbe, e poi la serie è vecchissima, piuttosto un film di animazione si, dove magari compare anche Paperino, sebbene questa sia la loro serie.

Assurdo una scelta del genere se deve essere fatto deve essere in 2D non in quella maniera con volgarità per far ridere i bimbi . La serie mi piaceva molto la guardavo sempre per il lato mistery e dark. Poi si spiegava la mafia in modo semplice e sicuramente nel film non ci sarà. Da come mi ricordo non è ambientata nel Calisota ma in una metropoli americana infatti i personaggi di contorno sono tutti umani.
Vorrei anche ricordare che il dimenticabile G Force ha ricordato quella serie.

oddio a me l'idea non dispiace....mi preoccupa molto però la produzione....questo regista pubblicitario e questa casa produttrice per la tv...sarebbe un peccato farne uscire un prodotto scadente...

Perchè ormai conta solo il pubblico femminile che vogliono Violetta e compagnia bella. Era andata in onda anche in Estate su Rai 2 ma all'orario assurdo delle 7.30.
E la casa dei Muppet che produce forse riesce nel miracolo ma c'è anche un perchè chi si ricorda di questa serie a parte noi? Capiamo Alvin e, i puffi e Yoghi ma Cip & Ciop ?

Leggendo in giro tutti sperano nella Casa dei Muppet ho letto che la Disney ha dato ordini precisi deve rappresentare la serie. In fondo e l'unica serie Disney che non è ambientata nel mondo disneyano ma con personaggi umani .Vedremo ma il progetto sul film di Gargoylens è tramontato?

Disney’s feature film reimagining of Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers has found its director.

Akiva Schaffer, one-third of Lonely Island along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, has closed a deal to direct the studio’s live-action/CG hybrid take on Rescue Rangers, featuring the classic chipmunk duo.

David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who produced The Muppets as well as Beauty and the Beast for the studio, are producing the project, whose distribution path is unclear. It may end up a theatrical release or could head to Disney+, the company’s upcoming streaming service that launches later this year.

Chip ‘n Dale have been tormenting various Disney characters since 1943 but got a makeover in in 1989 with Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. The show saw Chip, the brains behind the pair, and Dale, the goofball, running a detective agency and helping animal clients. Disney made three seasons' worth of shows that then ran in syndication for the next decade on The Disney Channel.

Plot details for Rangers are being squirreled away, but it will not be an origin story nor detective agency story. Rather, the take is being described as being meta, something self-referential and cool. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the script.

That meta take could prove to be perfect match in the hands of Schaffer, who with his Lonely Island cohorts made classic digital shorts for Saturday Night Live, both as writer and director. He also co-directed the mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Stopping, acclaimed Hulu comedy Pen15, and off-the-wall sketch comedy series I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. Schaffer is repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham.

Execs Louie Provost and Jessica Virtue are overseeing for the studio, Alex Young is shepherding for Mandeville Films/TV.

Steve Saklad has previously served as the production designer on ‘Thank You For Smoking’, additional photography for ‘Twilight’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’, ‘The Muppets’, ‘Labor Day’, ‘22 Jump Street’ and ‘The Front Runner’. He will also serve as the production designer on Kristen Wiig’s upcoming film ‘Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar’.

Saklad has also served as the art director on ‘Spider-Man 2’, ‘The Game’, ‘Mrs Doubtfire’, ‘The Punisher’ and ‘Nine Months’.

Akiva Schaffer will be directing the remake. Schaffer has previously directed most of The Lonely Island music videos, ‘The Unauthorised Bash Brothers Experience’, ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’, ‘Hot Rod’ as well as multiple episodes of ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’ and ‘Saturday Night Live’. ‘Dolittle’ screenwriters Doug Mand and Dan Gregor will write the screenplay for the film.

‘Chip ‘n’ Dale: Recuse Rangers’ re-imagines the fun-loving chipmunks as the leaders of a team of pint-sized crime-fighters, rounding out the team are two mice, Gadget Hackwrench and Monterey Jack and Zipper, a fly.

The film is aiming to release in late 2021.

We have learned that production on the live-action/CGI hybrid is set to begin filming next spring in Los Angeles, California. The studio is also prepping this film as a part of their original films for Disney+. Another cool tidbit on the project we are hearing but have not been able to confirm, is the original voice cast for the Rescue Rangers team, Tress MacNeille (Chip and Gadget), Corey Burton (Dale and Zipper), and Jim Cummings (Monterey Jack) are all expected to return for the film.

Di recente abbiamo appreso che il progetto approderà sulla piattaforma streaming Disney+. E ora, grazie a Discussing Film apprendiamo anche che Larry Fong è stato scelto come direttore della fotografia del lungometraggio.
Fong, per chi non lo conoscesse, ha lavorato in passato in moltissimi progetti di Zack Snyder come ad esempio 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch e Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
La pellicola approderà direttamente su Disney+ e richiamerà il cast vocale originale composto da Tress MacNeille, Corey Burton e Jim Cummings, anche se la notizia non è ancora ufficiale.
La serie animata creata da Tad Stones e Alan Zaslove è stata trasmessa dal 1989 al 1990 e seguiva i due noti scoiattoli striati mentre davano la caccia ad alcuni temibili furfanti.

Yesterday, during Disney’s Investor Day presentation, Disney fans and cinephiles alike received major announcements about upcoming projects from Marvel, Lucasfilm and Star Wars, and even Pixar. However, there was one live action project unveiled, outside of those realms, that certainly turned some heads. The project I’m referring to, of course, is Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

Now, it’s not just the fact these two fan favorite characters will be getting the big screen treatment that’s exciting. It’s all of the talent attached to the project too. In addition to being directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), the film will also star comedians John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as Chip and Dale respectively. Seth Rogen is also slated to have a cameo.

While that’s all the info the company disclosed yesterday, we here at The DisInsider have obtained a casting grid with some additional exclusive information.

According to the casting grid the official log line/synopsis for the film is as follows:

It’s been years since the end of the RESCUE RANGERS, and CHIP AND DALE are currently living a life of mediocrity. Now Chip and Dale must renew their partnership to try and save a friend from a fate worst that death: video piracy.

In case that description isn’t enough to give you an idea of the general tone Schaffer is aiming for, or what the film will be about, a breakdown for a character named Ellie Whitfield offers some additional details:

Human, any ethnicity, Ellie is a newly promoted detective, eager and excitable, the only detective young enough to have grown up with and loved the Rescue Rangers TV show. Being human, she’s much larger than the cartoon characters with whom she interacts, which is all part of the fun as she embarks on helping Chip and Dale track down the sinister Mean Dean.

Ellie will be a co-lead, and the studio is looking for an actress between the ages of 25 and 35 to play.

Both the longline and the breakdown indicate that film will be cheeky or self-aware to an extent, having many of the characters within it aware of Chip and Dale’s previous adventures. Most notably, the breakdown confirms that Chip and Dale will not be the only animated characters to appear in the film. Considering that casting is nowhere near complete, and the fact that Schaffer, Mulaney, and Samberg are Saturday Night Live alums, the possibilities for the ensemble are endless.

The last crucial piece of information the grid offers is that the Disney is curently targeting a late January start date for the project.

Interessante questa trama, potrebbe venire fuori qualcosa di divertente. Un po' anni '80, tipo le avventure dei Cuccioli Cercafamiglia e Alvin Rock 'n Roll. Sicuramente ci sarà un animaletto femmina, magari arriverà proprio la genietta Gadget.

During a composer panel during this past weekend’s ComicCon at Home, Brian Tyler revealed that he is set to score the upcoming project.

Brian Tyler is no stranger to The Walt Disney Company as he has scored high-profile projects such as Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. His other notable credits include Crazy Rich Asians, Ready Or Not, F9, Power Rangers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island fame and director of such films as Hot Rod. It was written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand of How I Met Your Mother. It is expected to be a meta, self-referential take on the original show. Larry Fong (Batman V Superman) will do cinematography, as confirmed by DiscussingFilm.

sinceramente ci ha colpito in maniera positiva... non credevamo fosse così questo progetto, ci pareva molto trash e invece sembra ben fatto... poi bisogna vedere se il film completo è all'altezza o meno ma il trailer è molto buono

Ho prima letto l'articolo e solo dopo visto il trailer doppiato.
Leggendo che i doppiatori saranno Bova e Morelli ero subito moooolto scettico, quasi deluso (sebbene entrambi, soprattutto Morelli, abbiano dimostrato in passato di sapersela cavicchiare al leggio). Guardando il trailer, però, sono rimasto piacevolmente stupito, sebbene forse abbiano dei timbri vocali un pelino troppo bassi per i personaggi, sembrano credibili e rendono bene sia le battute che i personaggi per come sono stati resi in questo nuovo film

Io chiedo venia ma sono schifatissimo da queste scelte sul doppiaggio nostrano. La qualità scende da morire. Non so come possano cambiare senza problemi le voci di Cip e Ciop con dei talent discutibili non adatti al ruolo.
Facciamo doppiare Topolino e Co. da quelli del Grande Fratello e siamo a cavallo.

Io aspetterei prima di vedere il prodotto finale. A parte che qui è un trailer doppiato velocemente, è un film meta, dove di certo non si trovano le vocine della serie tv. Credo che anche in originale ci siano voci molto più adulte e "umane".

(Considerazioni personali, il doppiaggio dei protagonisti è proprio brutto (speriamo sia stato fatto velocemente per il trailer) e tra un Peter Pan Imbolsito tremendamente trash e il clima generale di estrema irriverenza alla Dreamworks più di una perplessità rimane. Ma mi riservo prima di visionare l'intero film).

beh Bova e Morelli non sono nuovi al doppiaggio... rispettivamente sono stati scelti Bova per Ercole (e poi anche Bolt) e Morelli per Eugene/Flynn, quindi che tornino non va male

la Chillemi non sappiamo come doppia, magari non è male... se pensiamo che Laura Chiatti, Serena Rossi e Serena Autieri sono tutte attrici e non avevano esperienze di doppiaggio (tranne l'autodoppiaggio sui loro film) ma Rapunzel, Anna ed Elsa sono state doppiate in modo buono, quindi perché con la Chillemi dovrebbe essere diverso?

Per carità, felicissimo di sbagliarmi. Per ora è nota per qualche fiction italiana (mai vista), spero non sia l'ennesima miss riciclata anche per il doppiaggio.
