A rumor, but on pretty good authority: Disney Theatrical will launch a national tour of Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” in 2021. Schele Williams, who performed in the original Broadway production, will direct.

“Aida” opened in 2000, won four Tony Awards and ran nearly five years. It never escaped the shadow of “The Lion King,” but the score has worn well. I played the CD yesterday and enjoyed the powerful “Easy as Life,” the snappy “My Strongest Suit” and the lovely duet “Written in the Stars.”

AN AIDA REVIVAL IS COMING

“I love Aida. We’re in the middle of developing Aida. We are going to do a reading very soon. David Henry Hwang is doing some stuff with the script. The director is Schele Williams, who was Nehebka in the original production. We’ve been meeting over the years about lots of things; she’s spectacular. I’ve been talking to [designer] Bob Crowley a lot because we want to keep the essence of what he had created originally, but, of course, for today. These things are all in the cooker.”

Aida Revival to Receive Developmental Lab in Spring 2020; Camille A. Brown Signs On as Choreographer

A new production of Disney's Aida just might be written in the stars. A revival staging of the early-2000s musical will get a developmental lab presentation from March 9-20, 2020, according to an Equity casting notice. The previously reported revival is to be directed by original cast member Schele Williams; Tony nominee Camille A. Brown has newly joined the creative team as choreographer.

Featuring a Tony-winning score by Elton John and a book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls and David Henry Hwang—based on the opera by Giuseppe Verdi—Aida centers on the love triangle between the Egyptian captain Radames, his fiancée Princess Amneris and her enslaved handmaiden, the Nubian princess Aida, whom Radames loves but does not believe he can be with.

The original Broadway production of Aida starred Adam Pascal as Radames, Sherie Rene Scott as Amneris and Heather Headley in a Tony-winning turn in the title role. Casting for the upcoming workshop will be announced at a later date.

Dal sito http://www.playbill.com/article/camille-a-brown-joins-upcoming-aida-revival:

Camille A. Brown Joins Upcoming Aida Revival

The developmental presentation will be directed by Schele Williams, who was part of the original cast.

Tony-nominated choreographer Camille A. Brown, currently represented Off-Broadway with the critically acclaimed revival of for colored girls... at The Public Theater, has joined the creative team for a developmental presentation of the Disney musical Aida.

The presentation will be helmed by Schele Williams, associate director of Motown the Musical, who was part of the original Broadway production of Aida (originating the role of Nehebka and part of the ensemble), with choreography by Brown.

Aida, which features a book by David Henry Hwang, Linda Woolverton, and Robert Falls, music by Elton John, and lyrics by Tim Rice, premiered on Broadway in 2000. Falls directed the production, which starred Heather Headley in a Tony-winning performance.

The Aida developmental presentation will take place in March 2020, according to a recent casting call. No official word yet on any subsequent engagements, including a speculated national tour.

In addition to being the associate director on Broadway, Williams re-conceived and directed the recent national tour Motown. She was also the associate director on the European tour of Porgy and Bess and associate choreographer of the Rent national and international tours.

Brown has worked on the Broadway shows Choir Boy, Once On This Island, and A Streetcar Named Desire, as well as Off-Broadway on Toni Stone, Much Ado About Nothing, and This Ain't No Disco. Next July she will direct and choreograph a dance-filled Ain't Misbehavin' at Westport Country Playhouse.

Dal sito https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Re-Imagined-AIDA-Will-Premiere-at-Paper-Mill-and-Tour-in-2021-20200131:

Official: Re-Imagined AIDA Will Premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse and Tour in 2021

As BroadwayWorld first reported last year, a new North American tour of Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony-winning Broadway smash Aida will premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse, February 4 - March 7, 2021.

The production will officially play Charlotte, Chicago, Fort Worth, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., among other cities to be announced.

To receive news about the Aida North American tour, please sign-up for email alerts at AidaOnTour.com. For information on the Paper Mill run, visit PaperMill.org.

The new production, updated and re-imagined, retains the beloved Tony and Grammy-winning score and features a book revised by David Henry Hwang, who co-authored the acclaimed original production with Linda Woolverton and Robert Falls.

The new Aida is directed by Schele Williams (a member of the original Broadway cast) and choreographed by Tony-nominee Camille A. Brown. Sets and costumes are by seven-time Tony winner Bob Crowley, and lighting is by six-time Tony winner Natasha Katz, who both won Tonys for their work on Aida in 2000. The music department includes Tony Award-recipient Jason Michael Webb (musical supervision), Tony Honor recipient Michael McElroy (vocal arrangements and co-incidental arranger), Jim Abbott (orchestrations) and Tony-winner Zane Mark (dance arrangements).

Casting will be announced later this year.

A passionate and timeless story for today's audiences, Aida is the compelling tale of star-crossed lovers belonging to feuding nations, torn between their conflicted loyalties to their countries and to each other. With its stirring contemporary score and its powerful love story, Aida reveals that we have the power to change history, but only when we make brave choices and embrace our destiny.

Aida, which opened at the Palace Theatre on March 23, 2000, went on to become one of the biggest hits of its decade, closing in its 5th year on Broadway on September 5, 2004 after nearly 2000 performances. It received five Tony nominations, winning for Score, Set, Lighting and Actress. A tour played 53 North American cities from 2001 to 2003.

Its worldwide reach is greater still. Nine replica productions played 20 countries in 14 languages.

"Aida is in my DNA in ways I had never imagined until I began the journey for this production," said Schele Williams. "I have a rich history with the show that I am very proud of, but when I recently made some discoveries about the history of its time period, the show broke open for me. It truly is the butterfly effect; subtle shifts have taken a story I love and turned it into an adventure I can't wait for audiences to discover. David Henry Hwang has crafted a book that truly shapes this journey and Elton John and Tim Rice's score is the glorious foundation we have built upon. I am thrilled to be in collaboration with David Henry Hwang, Camille Brown, Jason Michael Webb, Bob Crowley, Natasha Katz, Michael McElroy, Zane Mark, Jim Abbott and the Sirs, Tim Rice and Elton John. All extraordinary storytellers unified in vision to revive a musical that is deeply meaningful to all of us."

"The classic tale of Aida has touched audiences across cultures and time," said David Henry Hwang. "I'm thrilled to revisit the show we created twenty years ago, so this epic love story can speak even more powerfully to audiences today."

The show's producer Thomas Schumacher, President & Producer Disney Theatrical Productions said, "Schele Williams, David Henry Hwang and the team have cracked the show open in new ways to bring the story into today's world while honoring what fans have cherished for 20 years: rich characters, gorgeous designs and those extraordinary songs."

In re-visiting the work, the Aida creative team saw an opportunity to allow history to more fully inform the story and, by doing so, to be more of today.

Director Williams researched Aida's time period extensively, making discoveries about the musical's setting that have fueled the work in new ways. These revelations have allowed for subtle changes to the show's plot while retaining the beloved score, characters and iconic imagery.

BWW Exclusive: Thomas Schumacher Reveals Next Steps for HERCULES, AIDA & More!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, a new North American tour of Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony-winning Broadway smash Aida will premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse in 2021 before beginning a North American tour, directed by original company member Schele Williams. This will not be the same Aida of Broadway past, however.

"We're going back into it and exploring things that we would rethink today. [We want to] reinvestigate the material," Disney's Thomas Schumacher told BroadwayWorld. "All of these things that we thought we knew about Egypt and Nubia were actually wrong. What we thought we knew about the dynamic of these cultures has changed. So we're really reconstituting parts of the show."

Aida isn't the only new project on Disney's plate.
While work on a musical version of The Princess Bride continues (a workshop will be held this spring), a stage version of Hercules, which premiered in summer 2019 at the Delacorte Theatre, is also an ongoing project.

"We're gonna take it to the next level," says Schumacher. "There is no intention of Broadway, but there are all of these theatres across the country that are dying for it. We've turned it into a two-act [show] and made some changes."

Schumacher also recently celebrated the release of the third edition of his book, How Does the Show Go On?. "There is an extraordinary collection of people that it takes to make a show and to make the community of a show- whether its onstage, front of house, back of house, and the people who don't even appear in the theatre, like press and marketing," he explains. "All of that was exciting to me and I wanted to make sure that the book represented all of it."

Tim Rice reveals plans for Aida London production

The composer has revealed details on his new podcast about the production

The UK premiere of Tim Rice and Elton John's award-winning musical Aida may be imminent.

The piece, which first ran on Broadway in 2000 where it played for more than four years, has yet to reach British shores. According to Rice's new podcast, "Get Onto My Cloud": "we're aiming to put that right. Before this pandemic swept the globe, a timetable for a major new production of Aida, involving an American tour, followed by, we hoped, a return to Broadway before Europe and notably the West End, was in serious preparation.

"Disney Theatrical Productions, the producers, were gung ho about the new adventure, and had appointed a marvellous creative team. The director was to be Schele Williams, who had been in the original Aida cast. Two Aida veterans were also to be in the team – David Henry Hwang and Bob Crowley, they were the key figures. Plus me and Elton."

The pandemic has altered things, Rice has said: "The revised plan is to go straight from Germany, to London, which, of course for me, is a most exciting prospect." Dates, casting, a confirmed creative team and venues for a possible run are to be revealed.

Aida first played in Atlanta in 1998, with Heather Headley in the titular role. It came to Broadway in 2000, running for 30 previews and 1,852 performances. While never professionally presented in the UK, it has been available for amateur licensing since 2011.

Hamilton’s legacy is still about a more accessible Broadway

For example, Aida, Elton John and Tim Rice’s adaptation of the Verdi opera, was a hit when it premiered in 2000. The show won four Tony Awards and the Grammy for Best Musical Show Album. Disney was reportedly in talks to produce a movie starring Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera in 2007, but it never materialized. An Aida revival is planned for 2021, so it’s possible that we’ll eventually get an Aida film after all.

While Sir Tim doesn’t see socially distance audience restrictions (‘ghastly phrase’) as a solution for the theatre’s comeback, he isn’t placing the blame at the government’s door. ‘One can easily say they haven’t handled it very well, and that’s probably true, but on the other hand, I don’t think anybody else would have handled it better. It’s such an unknown area.

‘Nobody really knows anything and it’s a ghastly situation. But I think at the end of the day, we have to say life is full of risks, and Covid is a nasty virus but then again, there’s a lot of other diseases. People die of different diseases and the Covid virus is probably not that much worse than the average deadly virus – I mean, I don’t know. I get annoyed with the government and all the rules which seem a bit shambolic; on the other hand, I feel sorry for them.’

So until he can get back in a room with his collaborators and bring Aida to Europe, Sir Tim will be using the continuing state of lockdown to walk down memory lane on his podcast – and may also turn to writing volume two of his memoirs while he’s at it.

Dal sito http://theatrefan.co.uk/elton-john-tim-rices-aida-revival-west-end-plans-revealed/:

ELTON JOHN & TIM RICE’S AIDA REVIVAL WEST END PLANS REVEALED

There are plans to bring the new revival of Elton John & Tim Rice’s Aida to the West End, it has been revealed.

Seth Rudetsky recently interviewed Schele Williams, for his Stars In The House online series, who starred in the original Broadway production of Aida and is now set to direct the upcoming revival.

Williams gave an update on the highly anticipated revival to Rudetsky, who states in an article for Playbill: “The new Aida was supposed to start at Paper Mill, then do a national tour, and then go to Germany (and hopefully Broadway and the West End). Because of COVID-19, the first two places are out so they’re aiming to premier in Germany.”

Winner of four 2000 Tony Awards, Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal, chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love.

This is super exciting news because Aida has never been staged professionally in London or elsewhere in the UK. So I’m glad that we might finally get the chance to see this amazing show in the West End.

Fingers crossed! ! !

Like everyone else in the theater industry (or any industry, for that matter), Rice has a bit more time on his hands these days, and he’s using some of it to revisit his long career and many collaborations in a witty and addictive new podcast.

Get Onto My Cloud, on the Broadway Podcast Network, finds Rice in a warm and chatty mood, regaling listeners with anecdotes from his career, his collaborations with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber (Superstar, Dreamcoat, Evita, et.al.), Elton John (The Lion King, Aida), Alan Menken (Aladdin, 2017’s live-action Beauty and the Beast), ABBA’s Bjorn and Benny (Chess), and Freddie Mercury (on the Queen frontman’s 1988 solo album Barcelona).

DEADLINE: What were you working on when the pandemic hit?

RICE: Just before lockdown I almost literally had my bags packed to go to New York, because we had been starting pretty thorough work on redoing and relaunching Aida through an American tour and through Germany and then into London, because Aida, which did pretty well on Broadway, has never yet been to London. And we were contemplating new material. We wouldn’t have needed a lot in the song department, but a few changes here and there. It was really something I was looking forward too, but that’s been put on hold, so goodness knows when we’ll get back to Aida. And I was also working on a revamping of From Here to Eternity, a show that ran in London four or five years ago. It got very nice reviews, but didn’t do very well commercially, so we were in the process of investigating a US tour, and also a UK tour, which I think would’ve gone on, without any doubt.

RICE: We’re still in touch, but in practical terms there’s not much we can do. And in the case of Aida, Elton’s farewell world concert tour has been completely hit on the head, and I’m sure he’ll resume it but now all the [Aida] dates for 2021 will be 2022 or even later.

Also for From Here to Eternity, which I mentioned earlier, we’ve been having conversations with English producers and our American producers quite regularly, and we’re slightly marking time now. We can’t just say, “Let’s start rehearsals in March” because we might not be able to. We think it is basically ready to go into preproduction, but half the point of preproduction is to find out what’s wrong with it and you can’t really find out what’s wrong with it before you go into preproduction. So, not a lot is happening, but anything that was seriously considered before the lockdown is still being seriously considered.

Adam Pascal Discusses ‘More Realistic’‘Aida’ Revival & Reveals His ‘Joy’ ToReturn To Broadway Stage

The cast of ‘Aida’ will be reuniting on Seth Rudetsky’s ‘Stars In The House’ on June 5th. Broadway star Adam Pascal spoke to HL about the upcoming revival.

This reunion was certainly written in the stars! The Tony Award-winning cast of the ’00 Broadway show Aida will join Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley on their “Stars In The House” livestream show June 5th. Heather Headley (Aida), Sherie Rene Scott (Amneris), Adam Pascal (Radames), John Hickok (Zoser), Tyrees Allen (Amonasro), Dan Oreskes (Pharoah), and Schele Williams (Nehebka) will all be present to discuss the epic love story that was told on the stage from 2000 to 2004, with a stunning soundtrack by Tim Rice and Elton John. Adam, who is widely known for his performance as Roger Davis in Rent, spoke to HollywoodLife.com about Schele Williams’ upcoming revival of Aida, as well as his return to the stage as the Broadway doors prepare to open.

While we’re all hoping Adam and his easily recognizable, striking vocals will return as Radames, he admitted that won’t be happening — for a few different reasons. “I’m definitely too old,” he laughed, “However, I would totally come back and play Zoser, Radames’ father. But I think, it is my understanding from Shele, that the revival will star an entirely ethnic cast.” Aida tells the story of a forbidden love between Aida, an Ethiopian princess held captive in Egypt, and the Egyptian General, Radames.

“My understanding is that this revival is going to be much more historically accurate to the times and the actual people who lived there, who were all shades of brown,” Adam explained. “So, I don’t necessarily belong in this new world.” While we may not see him in the Aida revival, the Tony-nominated actor does have his eyes set for the stage as the Broadway doors prepare to reopen this September.

“Our industry was affected like no other. During the pandemic, there were only a few months where there were no TV and film productions going on, but there were still things happening. We shut down 100% and had no idea when this was going to end or how it was going to end,” Adam said. This won’t be the first time her has returned to the stage and had a “rise from the ashes” moment. “I remember the first show back after 9/11, I was in Aida and it was Idina Menzel‘s first performance, and I mean, my first performance of Rent after Jonathan [Larson] died — there have been incredibly moving and difficult times I’ve had to come back and be on stage,” he said. “This one will be incredible and there’s nothing bittersweet about it, in the sense that it is just going to be pure joy to get to masquerade around on stage and be in a theater.”

Be sure to tune in to the Aida reunion on ‘Stars In The House’ at 8 pm ET on the ‘Stars In The House’ YouTube channel and StarsInTheHouse.com. Hosts Seth and James have raised over $1 million with their reunion episodes, benefitting The Actor’s Fund, which offers a financial safety net for performer throughout their lifespan.

Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida set for West End premiere

Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida is set for its first professional production in London’s West End.

Based on the opera of the same name written by Antonio Ghislanzoni, Aida features music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls, and David Henry Hwang.

Aida is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love.

Originally produced by Disney, the musical premiered in Atlanta in 1998 before moving to Chicago and finally making it to Broadway in 2000.

To date however there has not been a professional London production.

That could soon change with work on a revival underway, directed by Schele Williams who starred in the original Broadway cast.

The new production had been due to begin performances in North America in 2021 but following the pandemic will now debut in Holland in 2023, with plans for a West End run shortly after.

Williams told the Broadway Podcast Network: “It’s never been on the West End, which is pretty exciting. Both Tim and Elton want it to be in their home so I’m really excited to bring it to England.

In a message on Twitter and via his podcast, Tim Rice previously confirmed: “Working on podcast number 8 which will feature Aida: musical with Sir Elton for which there are London plans via Europe in 18 months time if all is well. @heatherheadley”

Casting for the Holland production is currently taking place with details about the London run to be announced.

Inviato da: Under the sea il 1/3/2022, 23:29

Sarebbe fantastico!!!!

Inviato da: Under the sea il 2/3/2022, 0:34

World Premiere of Re-Imagined AIDA to be Presented in the Netherlands in April 2023

Gaia Aikman, April Darby and Naidjim Severina are set to star.

AIDA, the musical by Elton John and Tim Rice has been reworked and updated, and the world premiere is set for 23 April 2023 in the AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen. Stage Entertainment Nederland and Disney Theatrical Productions have announced hat Gaia Aikman (The Lion King, TINA - The Tina Turner Musical), April Darby (Sister Act, The Bodyguard) and Naidjim Severina (The Lion King, Kinky Boots) will play the lead roles in the production.

The updated version of AIDA differs in a number of respects from the version performed here from 2001 to 2003, which attracted 1.3 million visitors. It goes without saying that the iconic music and lyrics by Sir Elton John (The Lion King, Billy Elliot) and Tim Rice (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita) have remained the same, but the creative team, led by director Schele Williams, has given the musical a contemporary feel without compromising its original quality.

The narrative of AIDA remains intact in this renewed version. It is the compelling and fateful story of two lovers belonging to feuding nations, torn between their conflicted loyalties to their countries and to each other. This love story is set against the backdrop of a nation immersed in nationalism that seeks to expand its empire by invading another country.

Scriptwriter David Henry Hwang, also responsible for the original version of AIDA: "The classic tale of Aida has touched audiences across cultures and time. I'm thrilled to adapt the performance we created twenty years ago to the current era, so that the epic love story can speak even more powerfully to audiences today."

Interestingly, director Schele Williams, was a member of the original Broadway cast of AIDA and has now received the opportunity to direct this updated version of the musical. She has extensively researched the historical period in which AIDA is set, and in doing so, made new discoveries about the background of the story which she has used as inspiration for the new work. For example, she focused on nationalism rather than race and she explored the extraordinary role of women in this period.

"One of the most fascinating things about the time in which AIDA is set, was that gender inequality was not an issue then. Pharaohs could be female too, among both the Egyptians and the Nubians. Women were also commanders of armies, and soldiers, and the best doctors in Egypt. Women held property and took it with them when they got married. It made me realise that in our fight for equal rights, we women actually need to get back what we already had then. As a mother, I think it's fantastic that I can tell my daughters and their friends about this, and that we must reclaim the position we always had."

The music in AIDA is some of the most iconic in the history of musicals. The collaboration between Elton John and Tim Rice, who were inspired by the 1871 opera of the same name by the great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, resulted in a series of songs. Songs such as Written in the Stars, A Step Too Far, God Loves Nubia, and Easy as Life have remained just as beautiful and eloquent after translation into Dutch. When it first came out, AIDA was performed in 14 different languages in 20 countries, and is now on the bucket list of a whole new generation of musical lovers, who will be able to fall in love with it at the AFAS Circustheater in 2023.

Bob Crowley is to sign on with AIDA for the sumptuous and imposing sets and costumes. He designed the award-winning sets and costumes for Broadway musicals such as Tarzan, Mary Poppins and ALADDIN. His designs for the latter successful musical, which received eight Musical Awards earlier this year, can still be seen at the AFAS Circustheater Scheveningen.

Gaia Aikman is to play the role of Aida, April Darby will be Amneris, and Naidjim Severina will play Radames. Gaia Aikman: "I can finally say it out loud: I am Aida! Words cannot describe how happy I am to be playing this role! As a woman of colour, this role has always been high on my list. Soon I will be able to tell this iconic love story together with April and Naidjim. Because I previously shared the stage with April and Naidjim (in The Bodyguard and The Lion King) I am even more looking forward to this adventure. This is going to be something very special."

Stage Entertainment will announce the names of the actors playing Mereb (Radames' Nubian servant), Zoser (Radames' father and the top Egyptian minister), and Kandake (the warrior queen of Nubia) at a later date.

Stage Entertainment Nederland regards the world premiere of AIDA 2.0 as confirmation of the successful partnership between Stage Entertainment and Disney Theatrical Productions. Walter Drenth, managing director of Stage Entertainment Nederland: "Stage Entertainment Nederland is proud to be able to produce this newly revamped version of AIDA and to stage the world premiere in our own AFAS Circustheater Scheveningen."

Joanne Telesford, Qshans Thode & Robin van den Akker Join World Premiere of Re-Imagined AIDA in the Netherlands

The updated and renewed musical will have its world premiere in the AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen on April 23, 2023.

Producer Stage Entertainment Nederland has announced three new names, who will star in the musical AIDA alongside Gaia Aikman, April Darby and Naidjim Severina. Joanne Telesford, Qshans Thode and Robin van den Akker will play the roles of Kandake, Mereb and Zoser respectively. On April 23, 2023, the updated and renewed musical AIDA will have its world premiere in the AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen.

Joanne Telesford, who is currently starring in the theatrical comedy Girls on Fire , is looking forward to playing the role of Kandake (the warrior queen of Nubia). "It's fantastic to be able to play this role," says Joanne. "In the original production of AIDA, it was Aida's father who played a role in her life. Director Schele Williams did extensive research into the role of women in ancient Egypt and in this new production it is her mother Kandake who is the influential force.' Joanne also starred in other productions such as Disney's The Lion King and Tarzan, Hairspray and Daddy Cool . In 2017, she was nominated for a Musical Award for her portrayal of Winnie Mandela in the show Amandla! Mandela.

Qshans Thode will play the role of Mereb (Radames' Nubian servant). In previous productions, such as Disney's The Lion King, Sister Act, Mamma Mia! and TINA - The Tina Turner musical , he was part of the ensemble and understudy for several other roles.

Robin van den Akker has been given the role of Zoser (father of Radames and highest Egyptian minister). He is currently performing in the musical performance Het Feest van Tante Rita. Previously he played in the ensembles of Disney's AIDA (2001), My Fair Lady, Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Mamma Mia!. In 2008 he took part in the talent show Op looking for Joseph , a role that then went to Freek Bartels.

Disney's AIDA tells the compelling, ill-fated story of two lovers from hostile nations who are torn between conflicting loyalties to their country and to each other. A love story set against the backdrop of a nation drenched in nationalism that invades another country to expand its empire.

The Grammy and Tony Award-winning music in AIDA is some of the most iconic in musical history. The collaboration between Elton John and Tim Rice, who were inspired by the 1871 opera of the same name by the great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, led to songs such as: ' Somewhere in the Stars', 'Gone Too Far', 'Blessed Nubia', "Forget him."

Written by David Henry Hwang , AIDA is directed by Schele Williams, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie, sets and costumes by designer Bob Crowley, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Tony Gayle. The musical team is led by musical supervisor Clement Ishmael, with vocal and co-additional music arrangements by Michael McElroy, orchestrations by Jim Abbott, and dance and co-additional music arrangements by Zane Mark.

AIDA has been performed in twenty countries and fourteen languages and is on the bucket list of a completely new generation of musical lovers who can indulge themselves in the AFAS Circustheater Scheveningen in 2023.
