Da CBM:

BIG HERO 6 Will Return As Disney XD TV Show

Big Hero 6 will be receiving a sequel in the form of an animated TV show on Disney XD. Hiro, Baymax, Honey Lemon, Fred, Wasabi and Go Go will all be back for more adventures in San Fransokyo in 2017.

Big Hero 6 was somewhat of a surprise at the 2014 box office. The 3D computer animated film from Disney grossed $657.8 million worldwide from an estimated production budget of $165 million. Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, the next step for the franchise appears to be an animated show on Disney XD. The creators of Kim Possible, Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, are overseeing production on the show (along with Nick Filippi) which is set to premiere some time n 2017. The show will pick up immediately from where the film left off, following the further adventures of 14-year-old Hiro and his helper-robot Baymax. Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred and Go Go are also expected to return. The original film featured the voices of T.J. Miller, Damon Wayans Jr., Maya Rudolph, Jamie Chung, Génesis Rodríguez, Alan Tudyk and Stan Lee. No word yet on whether any will return to voice their respective characters.

In an official Press Release, Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide stated, "Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series — full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob — and Baymax — can deliver."

TV
Big Hero 6 cast to return for animated series
Baymax, Hiro, and crew will be back in 2017

When the new Big Hero 6 animated series debuts on Disney XD in 2017, it will feature plenty of familiar voices.

The continuation of Disney’s Academy-Award winning film has recruited much of the original cast, including Scott Asdit as the cuddly robot Baymax and Ryan Potter as young tech genius Hiro.

Other actors reprising their roles are Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff, and Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. New additions to the main voice cast are Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live) replacing T.J. Miller as Fred and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) stepping in for Damon Wayans Jr. as Wasabi.

The series picks up right after the events of the movie and will follow the adventures of Hiro, Baymax, and their team as they protect their city from scientifically enhanced villains. Hiro also faces new challenges after becoming the latest prodigy at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.

The guest cast for the upcoming series includes Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Andy Richter (Conan), Diedrich Bader (American Housewife), John Ross Bowie (Speechless), Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs), and Jenifer Lewis (Black-ish).

Mark McCorckle and Bob Schooley, the creators of Disney’s 2002 animated series Kim Possible, will executive produce the series, alongside Nick Filippi.

L'immagine mi ricorda molto le serie TV "spigolose" che si facevano una decina di anni fa, tipo Kim Possible.
