Dal sito Variety:

Loki, Scarlet Witch, Other Marvel Heroes to Get Own TV Series on Disney Streaming Service (EXCLUSIVE)

Disney is enlisting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the company prepares to launch its upcoming streaming service. The entertainment giant is in early development on an ambitious plan for a number of limited series centered on popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These series will likely include shows centered on Loki and the Scarlet Witch, along with other beloved superheroes who have yet to appear in their own standalone movies.

There’s an important distinction from other Marvel small screen efforts, however. The actors who portrayed these heroes and villains in the Avengers films and their spin-offs, such as Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, are expected to play them in the streaming shows. Moreover, though sources close to the production are staying mum on the cost of the programming, the budgets are expected to be hefty rivaling those of a major studio productions.

The Marvel series are in early development and writers have yet to be attached to the projects. Marvel TV Studios and Disney have been active with shows that include ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and Netflix’s “Daredevil,” but sources say those shows will stay under Marvel TV banner with these limited series set under Marvel Studios.

Storylines for each series are still being teased out, but Disney appears to be holding back some significant fire power for the big screen. Insiders stress the Avengers that have gotten their own movies like Iron Man and Captain America will not be featured in the series with the studios focusing on characters who have served as second tier characters in the MCU.

Dal sito / Film:

The other thing I’m hearing is that Paul Bettany‘s Vision will have a large part in the previously reported Scarlet Witch show. In fact, it may actually be a series more about the super-powered couple than just Wanda. This makes sense to me, as Wanda’s relationship with Vision is more compelling than Wanda on her own, and the two have a long and fascinating relationship in the pages of Marvel comics. I don’t think Scarlett Witch has received proper development outside of maybe Civil War, so a series that explores her further via her relationship with Vision makes sense.

Dal sito Dead Line:

Also getting an upgrade: Marvel Studios star Elizabeth Olsen has played Scarlet Witch as a supporting character in four films to date. The character will be a title character for the first time next year with the launch of Vision and the Scarlet Witch, a Disney+ streaming series.

Dal sito Hollywood Reporter:

Marvel's 'Vision and Scarlet Witch' Series Lands 'Captain Marvel' Writer (Exclusive)

The Vision and Scarlet Witch, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service Disney+, has landed a writer and showrunner. Jac Schaeffer, one of the scribes behind Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel movie, has been tapped to run point on the series that will focus on the two characters that are integral members of the Avengers. She will pen the pilot and executive produce, say sources. Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to star in the series, reprising the roles they originated on the big screen.

Dal sito That Hashtag Show:

Later in the day, unverified rumors began to swirl that the series may be inspired, at least in part, by the recent limited Vision comic book series written by Tom King. Lauded critically, the 12-issue series saw King take a Shakespearean approach to the life of Vision and his synthezoid family. It doesn’t take much imagination to see how King’s series could be tweaked to have Wanda step in as his wife and have their two comic book children replace the synthezoid kiddos.

Interestingly enough, King recently indicated that he had stepped away from his duties writing the ongoing Batman comic book to spend a couple of weeks working on a secret television project. While the two may not be related, there’s at least some smoke here that could indicate that Marvel Studios at least consulted with King on how to rework the book into a series.

Dal sito Boards 4 Channel:

Vision is reborn in Avengers: Endgame and reunites with Scarlet Witch. They attempt to lead normal lives in the suburbs of New York, but Vision is no longer connected to the Mind Stone and is therefore cold and emotionless. Scarlet Witch attempts to use her powers, which are connected to the Mind Stone, to restore Vision’s “soul”, with disastrous results. This project has been described as a “psychological thriller”, light on action and heavy on atmosphere, and exploring the lead characters’ personal issues. Vision will be in human form for most of it and become the antagonist, as Scarlet Witch slowly realizes she accidentally allowed a dark spirit to possess him. Agatha Harkness will be featured as a mysterious figure attempting to reveal to Scarlet Witch secrets of her past, and there will be a subplot about the public’s backlash against human/machine relations once the true nature of Vision and Scarlet Witch’s relationship is revealed. High-caliber actresses like Frances Conroy, Vanessa Redgrave and Dianne West have already been approached for Harkness.

Dal sito Boards 4 Channel:

Dominic West apparently met with Marvel about playing the main antagonist of Vision & Scarlet Witch. Based on what I've heard, he would be a neighbor who opposes their relationship and presence, rallies the locals against them, and is ultimately possessed by the evil spirit that first possesses Vision, becoming the MCU's Grim Reaper.

Brand New Details Surface For Marvel Studios’ ’WandaVision’ Series

Production on Marvel Studios’ WandaVision is currently underway and now some new details have surface regarding the upcoming series coming to Disney+.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, they learned parts of the series will be filmed in front of a live studio audience, and will pay homage to the multi-camera sitcom comedies throughout television history, one big inspiration being I Love Lucy. Which lines up withWandaVision director Matt Shakman’s previous comments.

“We can’t say much. It’s all pretty much on lockdown at this moment, but all we can say really is it’s a blend of classic sitcom and huge, epic Marvel action.”

Paul Bettany reprises the role of Vision and Elizabeth Olsen returns to her role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, as they become the perfect married 50’s nuclear family.

Teyonah Parris, will also appear on the series as the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, who was introduced to audiences in Captain Marvel. Kathryn Hahn is playing a nosey neighbor reportedly named Agatha, and who seems to be Ethel to Wanda’s Lucy.

WandaVision premieres on Disney+ in the spring of 2021 as a part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will tie directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

WANDAVISION: Latest Casting Details Point To Plans For Wiccan And Speed To Appear In The Disney+ Series

We've been hearing rumblings for a while now that Scarlet Witch and The Vision's children will be part of Disney+'s WandaVision series, and new casting details shed further light on that. Check it out...

As you may recall, we recently heard that Marvel Studios was looking to cast two infants for WandaVision. Now, MCU Cosmic is reporting that two eight-year-old boy twins have also joined the Disney+ project, with the codenames for their respective characters being "Timmy" and "Adam."

In recent weeks, rumours have also done the rounds which point to these kids growing up on a weekly basis. It's thought that they'll first appear as infants in an episode based on 1950s sitcoms before the next episode moves to the 70s or 80s and they're portrayed as young boys. Then, we would see them as teenagers in a contemporary setting for an episode based on more contemporary comedies.

These roles are perhaps most crucial for Marvel Studios, as Billy (Wiccan) and Tommy (Speed) are expected to stick around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as full-fledged superheroes and potentially members of the Young Avengers when they eventually assemble on screen.

So, casting news for these characters will hopefully find its way online in the coming weeks.

WandaVision is certainly shaping up to be something very different for Marvel Studios, and it appears as if Wanda's powers will spin completely out of control in some legitimately wacky ways.

Nightmare Rumored To Be The Villain In ‘WandaVision’

Just a couple of weeks back some details for Marvel Studios Disney+ series WandaVision surfaced revealing that the series would be shot in front of a live studio audience, and will pay homage to the multi-camera sitcom comedies throughout television history. Now, thanks to a new report we may know who the villain will be.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, they have heard from a source that Doctor Strange villain Nightmare will cause havoc on the series, and that someone may be cast already. As of now, the site is calling it a rumor as they haven’t received a confirmation as of yet.

Nightmare has been long speculated to be the villain of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, it has already been confirmed that WandaVision will lead into the big screen sequel so the report actually makes a lot of sense.

Dal sito HN Entertainment:

Kevin Feige Says ‘WandaVision’ Impacts Future of Phase 4, Multiverse Is Next Step In MCU’s Evolution & Avoids Directly Talking About Mutants

Another lovely batch of questions from Omelete‘s interview with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige at CCXP 2019 in Brazil revealed that both WandaVision and The Multiverse will have a larger impact on the MCU than previously suggested.

The outlet basically asked Kevin if WandaVision/The Multiverse will be how mutants are introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Oddly enough, he doesn’t directly even speak to the mutants mentioned in the first question or even when they’re alluded to in the second question.

OMELETE: In the comics, Wanda has such a rich variety of powers connected to the mutants…

FEIGE: “Having the opportunity to tell more of their story and what Wanda can do, more of what makes Vision, Vision.”

“Most importantly reveal a name I’m not even sure we’ve said in the MCU, but we absolutely make a big deal about in the show, which is that Wanda is, in fact, the Scarlet Witch and what does that mean that she is the Scarlet Witch.”

“That’s what we play into in this show in ways that are entirely fun are entirely funny somewhat scary and will have repercussions for the entire future of Phase 4 of the MCU.”

OMELETE: WandaVision is connected to [the next] Doctor Strange film. Is the Multiverse a way you can connect maybe other franchises that were not at Marvel before?

FEIGE: “The Multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is going to crack it wide open in ways that will repercussions for Disney+ series before it, that’s not WandaVision, and for movies just after it in a big fun way.”

It sounds like Loki will indeed tackle the Multiverse as well given it was said to be connected to the Doctor Strange sequel and there is already talk that actress Sophia Di Martino is playing Lady Loki in the show.

We also have to assume that Doctor Strange 2 will lead into stuff like Jane Foster becoming Lady Thor in Thor: Love & Thunder, could Lady Loki also factor in the Thor sequel? We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

When asked about mutants being in these projects Kevin got uncharacteristically mum on the subject and basically didn’t even address it directly, uncommon for him.

Normally, Feige would flat-out say they weren’t ready to introduce mutants and here was a little more coy than usual. Kevin was quite clear back in July at San Diego Comic-Con when asked about stuff like the X-Men that a main team movie was years away as they only recently just got the rights to the Fox properties.

However, he did give mutants (not X-Men) a shoutout on stage before wrapping-up the Marvel presentation at SDCC this summer.

Many of us just assumed he was talking about Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie which is looking like a sure bet given that Deadpool was the only character saved from getting completed rebooted and Ryan recently teasing a future announcement (possibly for Phase 5).

There is a strong possibility that shows like WandaVision or Loki and films such as Doctor Strange 2 could be the entry point to introduce mutants into the MCU via The Multiverse or the reality-bending powers of Scarlet Witch.

If we did get a little “flexible” with Kevin’s quotes, we could make the leap that the Multiverse being the next step in “evolution” potential is a hint it could be connecting to mutants, but that would be pure speculation.

WandaVision is currently filming with a release date planned in the Spring of 2021 (alongside Loki) before the May 7th, 2021 release of Doctor Strange Into The Multiverse of Madness.

Da Inside the Magic

Agatha Harkness might get a major villain role in “WandaVision” Disney+ series

WandaVision, one of the most anticipated installments for Marvel Phase 4, is moving further and further through production. But more and more questions remain unanswered, including one lingering question: Who is the main villain?

Recent set photos appear to confirm that a major villain will be Agatha Harkness, and she will be played by Katheryn Hahn. When she was first introduced as a cast member, Hahn’s character was simply described as a “noisy neighbor.” Kevin Feige introduced Hahn saying, “What does every sitcom need? A nosy neighbor! There’s always a nosy neighbor that’s stirring up trouble.”

In the photos Hahn appears to be on the set of WandaVision wearing a witch-like costume. Fans are hoping this means that Hahn will be playing comic book baddie Agatha Harkness. If this is proven to be true, that would definitely create a lot of noise in the neighborhood.

But of course, this is just speculation.

Who is Agatha Harkness?

Let’s talk about Marvel Villains for a minute. Agatha Harkness is one of the villains we find in the comic books. She is in-league with an even bigger baddie, Nightmare. Nightmare is rumored to be the ultimate antagonist in the upcoming film, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Fans are already expecting to see Scarlet Witch in the Doctor Strange sequel. So, it would make sense to see the villains’ story extend into the Disney+ series.

In the comic book realm, Agatha Harkness is also old. Really old. She is apparently one of the original witches of New Salem. Harkness has three major confrontations with Wanda (Scarlet Witch), and Wanda has to kill Agatha at least twice. Agatha also appears in the Fantastic Four comics as a governess for newborn, Franklin Richards.

Long story short, this sorceress is very fast and very powerful in all realms of sorcery. But, one quick look at Katheryn Hahn’s repertoire will tell you this sharp, sassy actress would be perfect for the role.

Primo passo verso l'introduzione degli X-Men?

Dal sito HN Entertainment:

With S.W.O.R.D. Confirmed For ‘WandaVision’ Could Beast Become The First Founding X-Men Member To Join The MCU?

While we’re likely going to get an announcement in the near future concerning Ryan Reynolds returning to the role of Wade Wilson aka Deadpool in a third standalone film, things are a little less clear concerning the main X-Men team and how they’ll be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There have been assumptions that the Disney+ series WandaVision could help introduce mutants and the X-Men either via the Multiverse or her reality-bending powers.

New set photos from WandaVision have revealed the S.W.O.R.D. (S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cosmic counterpart) will be introduced in the series and likely will have a connection to Monica Rambeau (played Teyonah Parris) possibly seeing her become a version of Captain Marvel (like in the comics) or even Spectrum, the latter a member of The Ultimates (a superhero team expected to be used in the MCU in the future).

Adding S.W.O.R.D. would be the first time that Marvel Studios has added something from the 20th Century Fox side of the comics universe to the MCU. It might lead to other stuff from the Fox side being either introduced in the series or in Phase 4/Phase 5.

Another possibility of including S.W.O.R.D. is that the series might want to incorporate X-Men characters, locations, and mythology. The organization is from the pages of the X-Men comics (created by Joss Whedon) and their use might possibly telegraph more X-Men stuff is coming in the future.

One character from S.W.O.R.D. that makes a huge sense to join the MCU would be Doctor Hank McCoy, better known as original X-Men member Beast.

Hank is in a rare position in Marvel Comics, as he held ranks among both the X-Men and The Avengers (Scarlet Witch also coming from those two comic book worlds). He joined the Mightiest Heroes back in Avengers issue #137 from 1975 and first taking his more recognizable animalistic blue furry character design in the pages of Amazing Adventures #11 from 1972.

He also joined Sentient World Observation and Response Department aka S.W.O.R.D. alongside Abigail Brand (half-mutant/half-alien leader), Henry Peter Gyrich (originally a government liaison to the Avengers), a hacker alien named Sydren, X-Men’s alien dragon Lockheed (best known as being connected to Kitty Pryde), and Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman.

From that standpoint, there is a good shot that Beast might be the first X-Men member to join the MCU depending on how they’re using S.W.O.R.D. and if the Multiverse will include a version of Earth where mutants are a pre-existing group aka homo superior being in the open as integrated into society/government (not in hiding).

Also, how S.W.O.R.D. might factor in future projects.

Could they show up in Captain Marvel 2 or in other Disney+ shows?

There had been speculation that the button scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home with the real Nick Fury on a space station surrounded by Skrulls was teasing both S.W.O.R.D. and Secret Invasion (although, Skrulls are seemingly the good guys in the MCU).

Space has been a close companion of the X-Men comics (not so much with the Singerverse of films) and that becoming the catalyst to their introduction wouldn’t be terribly shocking via S.W.O.R.D./Beast.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if Marvel used other space elements from the comics to connect X-Men characters to the MCU.

The mutant gene originates from the Celestials tinkering with the DNA of early man, which also led to the Eternals and Deviants being created by the cosmic giants. We’re assuming that a single line of dialogue could connect Eternals to Mutants via genetic tinkering or ancestry, but it remains to be seen if that connection will be explored.

Also, Cyclops aka Scott Summers’ father Corsair aka Christopher Summers just happens to be a space pirate and leads a cosmic team called The Spacejammers (not terribly different from the MCU’s version of Guardians of The Galaxy) and connected to the Shi’ar Empire, an alien group has a massive amount of characters, villains, and heroes that could be mined for decades.

Alex Summers aka Havok (Cyclops’ brother), Lorna Dane aka Polaris (Scarlet Witch’s half-sister/daughter of Magneto), and Rachel Summers aka Marvel Girl end up joining the ranks of Starjammers.

The third Summers brother is a cosmic superhero/villain named Gabriel Summers aka Vulcan, another character yet to be used in the feature films just like Corsair.

Having Starjammers and Shi’ar Empire being teased/introduced in future films like Captain Marvel 2 or Guardians of The Galaxy 3 wouldn’t be hard to imagine.

Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat gets involved with the Guardians in the comics.

We’ve also heard from the Russo Brothers that they’re keen on bringing Wolverine to the movies and tackling Secret War.

Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige has said over the summer the X-Men movie doesn’t factor into their five-year plan and that seems to be echoed in the projects they’ve announced since San Diego Comic-Con.

However, Feige did give a shoutout to mutants during the Marvel presentation at San Diego Comic-Con and at CCXP 2019 in Sao Paulo, Brazil hyped-up the Scarlet Witch aspect of Wanda being highlighted in the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision.

To me, these come off as tiny hints that mutants could be introduced first in WandaVision and if that is another universe that collides with the main MCU universe is likely going to be answered in the series or even the Doctor Strange sequel.

But, we’ll have to wait and see how Marvel will ultimately execute their mutants introduction.

Ottima notizia.

Da BadTaste.it

EXCLUSIVE: Evan Peters Playing Mystery Role in ‘WANDAVISION’

The world needs some good news. Thanks to a familiar and trusted source (the same L.A. based source who told me about Peyton Reed signing on for Season 2 of The Mandalorian), I have learned that Evan Peters (American Horror Story, X-Men) signed on for a key role in the Marvel Studios Disney Plus streaming series WandaVision. The 33-year old Peters landed the role late last year and filmed his scenes shortly after.

The nature of Peters’ role is being kept under wraps and that is likely to generate a great deal of excitement and confusion among fans given that the actor has thrice portrayed Wanda’s brother, Pietro, in Fox’s X-Men franchise. Of course Peters is also well-known for his portrayal of several terrifying villains over the course of 8 seasons of American Horror Story, opening up the possibility that he’s landed a role as WandaVision’s big bad. Given the nature of the series, Peters could be playing anyone from Nicholas Scratch to Mephisto.

The waters would seem to get muddy quickly should Peters be reprising his role as Pietro and then crossing over into the MCU, but rumors have persisted that WandaVision will somehow feature Wanda’s deceased brother though Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played the speedster in Avengers: Age of Ultron, has made it very clear that we shouldn’t plan on seeing him suit back up as Quicksilver any time soon. So if Taylor-Johnson isn’t back and Quicksilver is, that would mean a recast, something Marvel Studios has done successfully in the past, and Peters would be an interesting choice given the majority of fans seem to gravitate towards his portrayal of the character. This is just one possible option, of course, and perhaps not even the most likely, but it’s the one that quickly comes to mind.

Time will tell exactly what role Peters is playing, but given his American Horror Story fan base and his resume as a superhero, this is, most definitely, some good news!

Da The Disinsider

‘WandaVision’ to Reportedly be Loosely Based on John Byrne’s “Vision Quest”

While Marvel Studios WandaVision is still on track to hit Disney+ later this year. Not much is known on the plot of series. Well a new report has surfaced possibly giving insight to the shows story inspiration.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, a subplot of the series will be “very loosely based on” John Byrne’s run on West Coast Avengers, currently in a collected edition run called Vision Quest, that saw the Vision go missing, with Wanda later learning that he was taken, stripped down, and wiped of all his memories. That led to the introduction of a greyed out Vision, a concept we know Marvel Studios has considered in the past.

The site explains that a part of the subplot has Wanda playing puzzle as she is trying to reassemble Vision after his parts have been scattered around the world.

As mentioned earlier not much is known on the project but thanks to the Disney+ special Expanding the Universe, we know that House of M, Tom King’s Vision, James Robinson’s Scarlet Witch and the 1985 limited series The Vision and The Scarlet Witch are among the comics where WandaVision will draw inspiration.

Bettany reprises the role of Vision and Elizabeth Olsen returns to her role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, as they become the perfect married 50’s, nuclear family. Teyonah Parris will also appear on the series as the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, who was introduced to fans in Captain Marvel. Kathryn Hahn is playing a nosey neighbor reportedly named Agatha. Josh Stamberg will also appear alongside Randall Park as secret agents.

According to previous reports Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch was on set for the last week of filming for WandaVision, which lines up with another story reported stating longtime Doctor Strange villain Nightmare would be the antagonist for the series, as well as Marvel Studios CCO Kevin Feige previously stating the film will lead directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Earlier this year, Evan Peters (American Horror Story) was announced to have joined the series last summer in an unknown but a key role and shot his scenes towards the end of last year. Fans are now speculating what his role could be; the popular but least likely guess is Wanda’s brother Pietro aka Quicksilver, a role he played in Fox’s X-Men universe and was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The series is also rumored to have shot in front of a live studio audience, and will pay homage to the multi-camera sitcom comedies throughout television history, including I Love Lucy. Funny enough a lot of these reports regarding WandaVision has come from Murphy’s Multiverse, so this news has some weight to it.

* TRAILER ITALIANO *

Theory: MCU's Entire Phase 4 Is A House Of M Adaptation

Fans have wondered for a while whether or not the MCU would adapt House of M as an Avengers film, but Phase 4 might have even bigger plans.

After the earth-shattering events that took place at the end of Marvel's Phase 3, the MCU needs to find a new way to raise the stakes: and House of M might be just what they're looking for. House of M is an iconic Marvel Comics storyline from 2005 that radically changed the status quo of the Marvel Universe within just a few short issues. In it, Wanda Maximoff (driven to the brink of insanity by the expectations of her father and the societal pressures of being a mutant) uses her reality-warping powers to rewrite the fabric of reality. The change results in an altered timeline in which mutants, led by Magneto, have become the dominant species on planet Earth, with humans viewed as inferior with the exception of a few examples.

The storyline is arguably one of the most important events in the life of Scarlet Witch, and comic book fans have been curious to see if the MCU would ever adapt the story. Wanda Maximoff was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but due to recently-resolved licensing issues between Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox's ownership of the X-Men, certain elements of Wanda's characterization couldn't be utilized prior to 2019. This included her mutant status, the details of her parentage, and further elaboration of her Chaos Magic-based powers.

Wanda's abilities make her one of the most formidable characters in the MCU, and House of M is a devastating demonstration of just a fraction of her power. While the storyline seems fit to be adapted into a single film, there just might be evidence to suggest that all of Phase 4 could take place within Wanda's pocket dimension.

House of M is literally one of the most influential storylines in the history of Marvel Comics, and the outcome of the story affected the relationship between mutantkind and humanity for decades to come. After several major crucibles experienced by the X-Men, including the events of Planet X (a story written by Grant Morrison in which a mentally-unstable Magneto kills hundreds of thousands of humans), the tentative co-existence between mutants and humans had already been unraveling at the seams. This strains the mutant heroes of the X-Men, but it also only adds more trauma onto Wanda Maximoff, who was at the time dealing with her inability to have children with The Vision.

With her trauma and vulnerability manifesting as unintentional manifestations of her power, both the X-Men and the Avengers came together to discuss options on how to handle the crisis. Several heroes sought peaceful means, but other characters like Emma Frost and Wolverine came to the conclusion that Wanda needed to be killed. After heated deliberation, Xavier takes the two teams to Genosha to intercept Wanda, only to arrive too late as a blinding flash of light engulfs the world.

The inevitable reveal is that Wanda has completely rewritten the fabric of the Marvel Universe, creating a world in which an assassination attempt on her father's life in the 1970s led to the reveal of a massive genocidal conspiracy against mutantkind. As a result of this plot being exposed, mutants become a protected class by the international community at large, eventually leading to a world in which mutants make up 50% of the world's population and humans are viewed as inferior. Several heroes also receive ground-breaking changes; Spider-Man is now married to Gwen Stacy and viewed as a celebrity, Steve Rogers has aged up in real time, and Wolverine (the only one who remembers the events of the original timeline) is now a SHIELD agent.

Fans have known for quite some time now that Marvel's Phase 4 would be diving heavily into the concept of a multiverse, a metaphysical concept that comic books themselves have been working into storytelling for years. It was straight up confirmed at SDCC 2019, when Marvel revealed that the sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange would be called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Taking it a step further, the filmmakers involved also confirmed Scarlet Witch would be joining the Sorcerer Supreme this time, and that it would tie into her show on Disney+. For a while, it seemed like Multiverse of Madness alone would be blowing the MCU wide open in terms of storytelling opportunities.

But recently, more and more puzzling news has been revealed about some of the biggest movies in Phase 4, and it all points to multiple multiversal machinations. There's the matter of Jane Foster becoming Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, and while this is something that happens in the comics as the result of Jane being diagnosed with cancer, that explanation might be a little too grim to pull off in a franchise as lighthearted as Thor. Then, fans were recently shocked to discover Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro in Spider-Man: Homecoming 3, a reveal made all the more intriguing by an Instagram post from Foxx that seemingly teased a Spider-Verse event. We also know the Loki spin-off show will follow him jumping back and forth through different timelines, lending more evidence to the idea that all of these changes could be the result of multiversal manipulation.

Disney+ subscribers will be pleased to know that, unlike some of the other Marvel shows, WandaVision is still dropping on the subscription service this year. The first trailer revealed a surrealist homage to classic television throughout the years, all wrapped up in a larger story that somehow involves Scarlet Witch's reality warping abilities and a proto-variant of the SWORD organization. With so much going on, it's hard to figure out specifics of what's going on in the show's narrative, but one thing that fans have generally accepted is that Wanda has somehow created a pocket dimension or alternate reality in which Vision has returned to life.

If this is the case, then the basic assumption is that this reality will play out over the course of the show, with maybe a tie-in to Doctor Strange's next cinematic outing. However, there's always the possibility that the MCU could be looking to tell a story bigger than that. In the comics, the potential for Wanda's powers seems almost limitless, only bound by her experience and her willingness to use them. House of M represents just how volatile those abilities can be when used by someone in a state of emotional turmoil, and WandaVision seems to be setting itself up to do the exact same thing. There's a strong possibility that Wanda's powers could have repercussions for not just the events of the show, or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but for the entirety of Phase 4.

In the comics, only a select few heroes can perceive the changed timeline that Wanda creates in House of M. The other characters simply believe the altered reality to be the real one, blissfully unaware of the radical changes made to the fabric of history. The MCU could be gearing up to do a very similar storyline with each of the solo films in Phase 4. By starting off the phase with WandaVision, the show could be the catalyst that alters the fabric of the MCU, resulting in Multiversal warps within each individual solo film. This could explain bizarre changes such as the existence of Jane Thor and Jamie Foxx's return as Electro, leaving Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as the film in which Wanda's manipulations are finally reversed. It would certainly explain why Phase 4 seems to have no Avengers film slated, as instead of giving us one team-up movie they're instead using an entire Phase to play around with the concept of alternate universes.

Not only does this have far-reaching repercussions for the solo films affected by Wanda's powers, but this could also give the MCU a perfect justification for bringing the X-Men into the MCU. At the end of the House of M comic book storyline, Wanda (who's been pushed to the brink by both her father's obsession with mutant superiority) utters the phrase "no more mutants," and once again warps reality by depowering thousands of mutants across the globe. This is widely referred to as the Decimation, an event that drastically reduces the mutant population to mere hundreds. Since mutants don't exist yet in the MCU, the conclusion of Wanda's House of M storyline could end with her accidentally creating the mutant population, in an effort to fill the world with more people like herself. The thought of the MCU doing a House of M adaptation gives them a lot of creative leeway moving forward, and Phase 4 would be the perfect place to do it.
