Power Rangers: reboot in sviluppo ambientato negli anni ’90

Nel 2017 era arrivato nelle sale un nuovo film sui Power Rangers, che avrebbe dovuto lanciare una saga cinematografica dedicata al gruppo. Sfortunatamente però la pellicola non ha ottenuto il successo sperato, raccogliendo meno di 150 milioni di dollari in tutto il mondo. Questo ha portato alla cancellazione di tutti i progetti futuri per il cinema, ma a quanto pare è tempo di riprovarci. Poche ore fa infatti è arrivata la notizia di un reboot di Power Rangers in arrivo nel prossimo futuro.

Power Rangers, arriverà il reboot
Stando a quanto affermato nel report che sta circolando in queste ore, il nuovo film è completamente slegato dal suo predecessore. A occuparsene non sarà più quindi Lionsgate bensì Paramount, che ha già scelto chi ne gestirà lo sviluppo.

Si tratta di un nome molto noto e apprezzato dagli amanti delle serie TV, ovvero Jonathan Entwistle. Nel curriculum dell’autore si trova infatti uno degli show più apprezzati degli ultimi anni, ovvero The End of the F***ing World, tratto dall’omonimo fumetto di Charles Forsman.

Il reboot di Power Rangers sarà uno dei primi passi importanti per il franchise in seguito all’acquisizione da parte di Hasbro. Sotto la nuova gestione, c’è già stata la realizzazione di una serie TV, che ha iniziato le trasmissioni proprio nell’ultimo anno. Intitolata Power Rangers Beast Morphers è attualmente costituita da 20 episodi a cui si aggiungono 2 speciali.

Attualmente non sono disponibili moltissime informazioni su questo nuovo progetto. Quello che si sa è che il piano è che anche questo apra le porte a una nuova serie cinematografica incentrata sui Power Rangers e che la trama coinvolgerà un qualche tipo di viaggio nel tempo. Grazie a questo i protagonisti potranno tornare negli anni ’90, il che offrirà sicuramente tante possibilità di citazione al passato della serie.

Hasbro ha confermato che stanno lavorando al franchise dei Power Rangers che fruirà di una ripartenza con un nuovo universo cinematografico che archivierà il discreto reboot live-action del 2017 per ripartire da zero.

Il franchise “Power Rangers” nasce come serie tv live-action negli anni ’90 e si basa su un sottogenere giapponese noto come “Super Sentai“, serie televisive fantascientifiche anni ’70 e ’80 (Tokusatsu) come la celeberrima Goggle Five. Il franchise ha esordito nel 1993 con la serie tv Mighty Morphin Power Rangers e seguiva un gruppo di adolescenti che diventano una squadra di supereroi per proteggere la terra da minacce aliene. Nel corso degli anni il marchio ha generato lungometraggi, serie tv spin-off, fumetti, videogiochi e varie linee di giocattoli.

Il sito The Illuminerdi riporta una dichiarazione d’intenti annunciata da Hasbro durante un evento per gli investitori, la società ha delineato il suo impegno a “creare un nuovo universo per un pubblico più ampio tra film, TV premium, animazione e contenuti per bambini”. Secondo quanto riferito in precedenza il nuovo reboot dei Power Rangers sarà ambientato negli anni ’90 e sarà diretto da Jonathan Entwistle (I Am Not Okay With This di Netflix). Entwistle è stato anche incaricato di creare un nuovo universo condiviso con una storia che connetterà narrativamente cinema e tv come fatto a suo tempo per l’Universo Cinematografico Marvel da Kevin Feige.

“Questa è un’incredibile opportunità per offrire nuovi Power Rangers alle generazioni nuove ed esistenti di fan in attesa e adoranti. Porteremo lo spirito dell’analogico nel futuro, sfruttando l’azione e la narrazione che hanno reso questo brand un successo.” ha dichiarato Entwistle parlando del progetto.

L’ultima versione del franchise, la serie tv Power Rangers Dino Fury, ha debuttato su Nickelodeon lo scorso 20 febbraio. “Dino Fury” è la prima serie televisiva ad essere prodotta da Entertainment One, che Hasbro ha acquisito nel 2019. La serie è stata prodotta utilizzando filmati, costumi e oggetti di scena del quarantatreesimo capitolo della serie giapponese Tokusatsu / Super Sentai di lunga data Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, ed è il quarto capitolo della serie americana a utilizzare l’elemento dinosauri, con il ritorno dei Dinozords, mech a tema preistorico, preceduta da “Mighty Morphin”, “Dino Thunder” e “Dino Charge”.

Rangers are young and in high school but it’s still keeps it’s maturity (curse words , adult references)

15-16 Year old Latina, She has short slick hair with the sides shaved She can be a bit of a troublemaker,she’s an Adrenaline junkie,she consistently moves from foster home to foster home and always finds herself at the police station. loves to get her hands dirty.
you can always catch her at Tito’s Junkyard ( Where she always gets scraps and car parts for whatever’s shes building ) ( I also wanna mention they speak Spanish to each other in the script)
she never really get close to anyone every since her parents died in a car crash except her gf because she’s scared to lose them. Maybe her new team can change that ?

TONY (Blue Ranger)

15-16 year old Asian kid , He’s the Good kid the innocent one , Always have the highest grade in class and will gladly always remind the teacher to collect homework, His parents are strict which is why he’s the way he is, Never have time for fun.
His yearbook will say most likely to be a scientist ( with the word virgin scribbled all over it , yes it’s pg-13 lol )

Darius (Yellow Ranger)

15-16 year old African American kid , what can we say he’s the popular one ,makes all the girls go crazy ,he’ll win all the prom king votes with no doubt plus he’s Captain of the football team and been on varsity since a FRESHMAN ,he already have recruits all over
But what else can you expect from the son of the football coach?! Next year he’ll be getting scouts from all over the state but will it be more important than saving the world ?

Tito- owner of the junkyard Cassidy always finds herself at . He knows her past so he has a soft spot for her.
Lauren gf - she wants the best for Cassidy and believes in her potential, she forces Cassidy to go to school and make sure she stays outta trouble, Ever since Cassidy became a ranger she feel like she’s been distant and worries that’s Cassidy might be on the verge of breaking

There’s no black and pink ranger in the movie but in the base/command center the black and pink morphers is located in a case. The Morphers are wrist bands that literally can’t be removed from the wrist Faccina arrossita and when they Morph it forms around the body kinda like spider man

Also the base/ command center have five colors flowing thru it constantly so you’ll have moment like this where all 5 colors light up but only 3 rangers are present

Once again this is not a Origin story so everyone will be rangers from the start of the film ( We getting rangers throughly the whole movie this time not just the ending)

Una bella rivoluzione di abbinamenti e colori, interessante che maschi e femmine cambino colore ma non credo arriveranno a fare un pink ranger maschio (sebbene lo troverei fantastico!). Seguirò con molta curiosità.
