Le riprese sono sempre più vicine, visto che il regista ha firmato per il suo nuovo film DOPO la regia di Maleficent 2. L'articolo sottolinea l'elemento tipico del regista, che è quello dell'aspetto marino delle sue produzioni (ricordiamo che Joachim Rønning ha girato il quinto capitolo de I Pirati dei Caraibi). Chissà se anche il seguito di Maleficent giocherà sull'elemento dell'acqua, magari con un'avventura in mare (ma queste sono personalissime speculazioni).

'Pirates 5' Director Joachim Ronning to Direct Sci-Fi Thriller 'Here There Be Monsters' (Exclusive)

MRC is developing the feature that brothers Joachim and Andreas Rønning co-wrote.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning is attached to direct feature Here There Be Monsters, which he co-wrote with his brother, Andreas.

MRC, the independent film and television studio behind Edgar Wright's Baby Driver, is developing the the sci-fi thriller.

While plot detail are being kept below sea level, Heat Vision is told that the feature will assuredly include water, one of the running themes of Rønning's work. The director showed off his sturdy sea legs as the co-director on the Oscar-nominated adventure film Kon-Tiki, which led him to co-captain the sea-faring Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The Rønning brothers are currently writing the sci-fi action film Origin for Paramount, and [i]Joachim Rønning is prepping to direct Maleficent 2 for Disney. Here There Be Monsters will be the next project the brothers work on once Maleficent 2 wraps production.

Interessante.
L'elemento acqua però potrebbe anche riguardare non solo il mare, ma le sorgenti e le fonti... Maleficent (il primo film) richiamava la mitologia celtica e lì ci sono molti i riferimenti alle acque (Sorgenti, laghi, fonti - che inseriscano una Fata del Lago - tipico personaggio acquatico della mitologia celtica - come in Desideria e l'anello del drago?)... forse ci saranno richiami alla mitologia fiabesca delle fate... tra l'altro nel primo film il regno della brughiera aveva un bellissimo lago... quindi l'elemento acqua c'è.
Più che altro ora come ora ci lascia un po' perplessi che a un mese dall'inizio delle riprese non si conosca ancora niente del cast, chi è confermato (oltre alla Jolie), eventuali nuovi attori ecc.
Speriamo solo non facciano la cavolata di togliere Aurora... crediamo che dopo gli errori (o orrori) che hanno fatto con Il Cacciatore e la Regina di ghiaccio (in cui hanno eliminato il personaggio di Biancaneve) e la serie tv Once upon a time (in cui hanno eliminato di nuovo Biancaneve, oltre al Principe ed Emma) abbiano capito che il pubblico odia i cambi di cast e evitino come la peste stupidate simili (tra l'altro sia per il Cacciatore e la Regina di ghiaccio sia per Once upon a time hanno dovuto ammettere pubblicamente che proseguire senza il cast principale è stata una scelta idiota e che se tornassero indietro non lo farebbero. Inoltre Il cacciatore e la regina di ghiaccio è stato uno dei più pesanti flop della Universal, arrivando ai minimi storici per lo studio, così come per Once upon a time la ABC ha fatto i minimi storici con la settima stagione , per non parlare delle critiche sui social come twitter e facebook).
Speriamo che non commettano lo stesso errore!

Disney’s ‘Maleficent 2’ Adds ‘Justice League’ and ‘Watchmen’ Art Director

Angelina Jolie‘s Maleficent 2 is gathering up some interesting production crew as director Joachim Ronning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) is set to helm the project.

We’ve already revealed that Justice League production designer Patrick Tatopoulos will be working on the film. And it looks like another DC alumn has joined the production team as Helen Jarvis has been hired and will be the supervising art director on the Disney sequel.

Helen’s credits include Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Rise of The Planet of The Apes along with DC films Justice League and Watchmen.

Production on Maleficent 2 is expected to start on April 16th in London.

Dice che presto inizierà le riprese del film. La scaletta prevedeva un inizio di riprese al 16 di questo mese (aprile) a Londra. Vedremo se verrà mantenuta. Speriamo di saperne di più presto anche perchè è un po' strano che a 13 giorni dall'inizio delle riprese non si sappia ancora nulla del cast (a meno che non lo ufficializzino in questi giorni). Speriamo torni anche Elle Fanning!

Siamo davvero contentissimi del ritorno di Aurora/Elle Fanning! Era da tempo che aspettavamo la conferma. Finalmente è arrivata! Evviva!!!
Vogliamo proprio vedere cosa riusciranno a fare. Aurora è essenziale al film.
Il nuovo attore non lo conosciamo ma abbiamo letto che è molto apprezzato. Voi l'avete già visto? Sappiamo che ha fatto Il Trono di Spade e Deadpool ma non sappiamo altro (e non l'abbiamo visto in quelle produzioni, Il Trono di Spade dobbiamo proprio recuperarlo, tra l'altro sforna la maggior parte degli attori di oggi)

Eric, crediamo che una parte prenderà ispirazione da Perrault. Anche perché il personaggio della Pfeiffer sarà una Regina cattiva ed è la madre di Filippo, è l'antagonista di Malefica.
Crediamo che la seconda parte della Bella Addormentata di Perrault serva un po' come base, ma poi seguiranno la loro strada, però qualcosa c'è.
Avevamo sentito dire che l'idea era quella di riprendere, per quel che riguarda lo stile visivo il Classico Disney del '59. Vedremo come sarà.

Now we have learned that the Doctor Strange star Chiwetel Ejiofor is in talks to join the film in unknown role but is said to be a romantic foil to Jolie’s Maleficent.

'Maleficent 2' Star Ed Skrein Talks 'High Caliber' Sequel With Michelle Pfeiffer & Angelina Jolie (Exclusive)

Maleficent 2, the long-awaited sequel to Disney's 2014 hit based on Sleeping Beauty, will not disappoint, according to one of the movie's actors.

At the In Darkness premiere on Wednesday — which hits theaters and OnDemand on May 25 — Ed Skrein exclusively dished to ET's Ash Crossan about what it was like working with the sequel's A-list stars, Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer.

"I mean, all you want to do is work with people that can improve you as an actor. People that you respect, and, you know, Angelina, Michelle Pfeiffer, this is a phenomenal cast," the 35-year-old actor said in praise of the movie. "People that I respect and [have] been watching for years and have a human respect for as well as a professional respect."


Along with Jolie starring in the titular role of Maleficent and Pfiffer playing Queen Ingris, Jenn Murray, Elle Fanning and Chiwetel Ejiofor are all set to star in the film.

In addition to the great cast, Skrein was excited for the film because it's a little more family-friendly than his typical role.

"It's Disney man. It's great fun," Skrein said. "Its finally something that my nieces and nephews and my children can enjoy and watch instead of this fool mouth, dark, stuff that I usually do."

His dark streak continues with his role In Darkness, which is about a blind musician who hears a murder in the apartment upstairs.

"From the beginning, he was an interesting character that had an interesting arc that drew me to it," Skrein said of his character. "What you actually want from a role is for it to be interesting from the beginning and only get more interesting as it goes along. That's exactly what happened."
