Disney is enlisting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the company prepares to launch its upcoming streaming service. The entertainment giant is in early development on an ambitious plan for a number of limited series centered on popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These series will likely include shows centered on Loki and the Scarlet Witch, along with other beloved superheroes who have yet to appear in their own standalone movies.

There’s an important distinction from other Marvel small screen efforts, however. The actors who portrayed these heroes and villains in the Avengers films and their spin-offs, such as Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, are expected to play them in the streaming shows. Moreover, though sources close to the production are staying mum on the cost of the programming, the budgets are expected to be hefty rivaling those of a major studio productions.

The Marvel series are in early development and writers have yet to be attached to the projects. Marvel TV Studios and Disney have been active with shows that include ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and Netflix’s “Daredevil,” but sources say those shows will stay under Marvel TV banner with these limited series set under Marvel Studios.

Storylines for each series are still being teased out, but Disney appears to be holding back some significant fire power for the big screen. Insiders stress the Avengers that have gotten their own movies like Iron Man and Captain America will not be featured in the series with the studios focusing on characters who have served as second tier characters in the MCU.

While I was unable to confirm it with a second source, I was told that Marvel Studios might be taking an interesting approach to their Loki series. It’s been reported that Tom Hiddleston will return to reprise the role of Loki, but it seems that the series may find him narrating the events of his own life, presumably from the afterlife (Valhalla) following his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. This opens up all sorts of storytelling possibilities and is consistent with the original reporting on the show which indicated it could take place at any time during Loki’s considerably long life. Fans of the comics will know that Loki has died and come back to life many times in many different forms, among them Kid Loki who interacted with the Young Avengers.

Marvel’s god of mischief has a showrunner. Loki, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service Disney+, has landed Michael Waldon as its point person. Waldron will write the pilot, act as show creator and exec produce the series.

Tom Hiddleston is expected to star in the series, reprising the fan favorite character he first played in 2011’s Thor. The character apparently met his demise in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, even before the census altering dematerialization of half the universe, but Marvel may have found a run around that little impediment. Sources say the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.

Peter Sciretta spoke to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about his plans for the Disney+ Marvel shows, which he confirms will be developed as part of the “post-[Avengers: Endgame] MCU.”

“It will be MCU proper. Sometimes it will take place as Captain Marvel did in a time before current events, sometimes it will take place during. What I will say, whatever happens in those, in those shows and with characters that have been in the films, they’ll undergo transformations, not Loki necessarily, but will undergo transformations in their series and those transformations will be reflected in their next film appearances. Because we’ve been developing long-form narrative stories for Disney Plus at the exact same time that we’ve been developing a post-[Avengers: Endgame] MCU, we’ve been able to do something we’ve never done before, which is interweave them from the start, from the plant. So it’s pretty exciting to be 10+ years into the MCU and have an entirely new outlet to tell stories with new characters, with existing characters. And the way we like to do nineties action movies, political thrillers, heist movies, you hear us talk about this all the time, and now we get to do play with a medium even more in a multi-episode arc, which we’re excited about.

Feige offered news on Loki, a Marvel Studios original series streaming on Disney+ in the spring of 2021. Tom Hiddleston, back in his role of the mercurial Loki, the god of mischief and everyone’s favorite villain, received a huge welcome from fans when Feige brought him out on stage.

Then to the delight of the audience, Hiddleston answered the biggest question from Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame: “Where did Loki go when he took the Space Stone?”

A casting call went out this afternoon for a Marvel Studios project, filming dates yet to be determined, for actors/actresses to portray 10 year old British male and 10 year old British female respectively.

The descriptions for the roles are as follows:

Male, 10 years old, British, Open Ethnicity, smart and brave with a sharp wit and life experience beyond his years…RECURRING

Female, 10 years old, British, Caucasian, in tears over a frightening situation, she relies on her intelligence and resilience to find a way out.

While the project is unnamed, the New Orleans based casting agency who released the call is working out of an office located in Atlanta. Given the nature of the characters and the fact that the shooting dates are TBD, it’s very likely that these roles are for the Disney Plus series, Loki, set to begin production in Atlanta next month.

Rumors have swirled for some time that a younger Loki might be present in flashbacks, so it’s possible that the male character, which is a recurring role, might fit that bill. Of course it’s more likely it is for another character, but the recurring nature is the most interesting part.

While the female role isn’t recurring, it’s possible that it too might be a younger version of a character set to appear in the show. Actress Sophia Di Martino, who was cast in an unknown role in November, is set to co-star with Tom Hiddleston. Rumors have placed her not only as a female reincarnation of Loki, but also as Amora, the Enchantress. While nothing about this casting call points to either of those characters, it is possible the Di Martino’s role is connected. Alternately, the character could be Leah, one drawn from Kieron Gillen’s beloved run on Journey Into Mystery and one Loki’s only true and loyal friends.

Loki is currently set to debut on Disney Plus in the Spring of 2021.

Loki will soon begin production and a new casting notice has got everyone talking today. Marvel Studios is reportedly looking for a couple of stand-ins for the Disney+ TV series, one of whom is an African American female between 5'7" and 5'9" and a Caucasian female between 5'6" and 5'8" with blonde hair.

These characters must have key roles if Marvel wants to find stand-ins for them, and MCU Cosmic is pretty convinced that the blonde could end up being classic Marvel Comics villain Enchantress.

Now does seem like a good time for her to finally appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially as she's one of only a handful of major Thor supporting players who have yet to show up in live-action. This could also set the stage for Enchantress to play a role in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder.

It's been rumoured that Loki will see the God of Mischief causing chaos throughout history, so don't be surprised if he ends up meeting up with not only Enchantress but a host of other familiar faces too.

As Loki begins to start production, a new report from The Illuminerdi has reported that Marvel’s first transgendered superhero, Sera will appear. Last year, GWW first reported that Marvel was looking to cast a transgender actor for an upcoming Marvel Project. Many believed that it would be Thor: Love and Thunder; however, new reports suggest Loki.

The site has learned that Sera will be a major supporting character and could be featured in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Here’s a brief description of Sera from The Illuminerdi: “Sera is an Anchorite. The Anchorites are a small group of male, wingless Angels who were kept inside a temple in Heven, the Tenth Realm. Sera was the only one of the Anchorites who identified as a woman, thus being the first and, so far, only major trans woman in Marvel comics. She also happens to be in a relationship with the character of Angela who is a daughter of Odin.”

No official word has been given.

Loki is set to debut on Disney+ in the Spring of 2021, with production set to kick off early this year.

Disney+’s Loki will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki and will feature Sophia Di Martino (Flowers; Yesterday) in an undisclosed role. Kate Herron (Daybreak) will direct the series with Michael Waldron (Rick & Morty) writing the series.

Loki Casts Owen Wilson in Major Role For Disney Plus Series

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s family is looking to add a well known actor with its upcoming Disney+ series Loki. Loki has added Owen Wilson to the cast in a major role, ComicBook.com has learned, although the character which Wilson will be playing is being kept under wraps. Loki returns Tom Hiddleston to the titular character, a role which he debuted in for 2011’s Thor movie. He has since gone on to play the part in Marvel's The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The addition of Wilson might indicate a comedic tone for the series, something Hiddleston is no stranger to after working with Taika Waititi on Ragnarok.

Wilson is best known for roles in titles such as The Royal Tenenbaums, Wedding Crashers, and Bottle Rocket. More recently than those, the often comedic actor proved his dramatic chops in the action-thriller No Escape. This will be Wilson’s first time working with Marvel Studios.

As was previously revealed by Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige, appearing in a Disney+ series also makes cast members eligible to appear in future films or other shows, which makes all casting and new character news that much more exciting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More specifically, Feige revealed that the Loki series will directly connect to upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie.

The Loki series will follow the version Hiddleston’s character who escaped New York City in the MCU’s 2012 during a scene in Avengers: Endgame. The original version of the character went on to die in Avengers: Infinity War at the hand of Josh Brolin’s Thanos.

Disney had no comment on the casting.

Upcoming Marvel Studios projects include Black Widow on May 1st, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in fall 2020, Eternals on November 6, WandaVision late in 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021 Loki in spring 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, Spider-Man 3 on July 16, 2021, What If? Porta in altri luoghi e si può vedere quel personaggio maturare in un modo diverso. Sarà eccitante per i fan vedere realmente Tom e quel personaggio al centro della storia.

Più di tutto ero entusiasta che fosse diretta da una sola persona. Far parte di una serie limitata che non è semplicemente un progetto a episodi, in cui c’è un regista diverso ogni settimana… Kate Herron doveva realmente occuparsi della regia di tutti gli episodi, una situazione di cui non ho mai avuto esperienza lavorando per la televisione. Le riprese di Loki sono ufficialmente ricominciate e a confermarlo ci sono anche le recenti dichiarazioni di Gugu Mbatha-Raw, tra i protagonisti della serie Marvel prodotta per Disney+ accanto a Tom Hiddleston.
L’attrice, intervistata da Forbes, ha spiegato parlando del modo in cui si è avvicinata al mondo del Marvel Cinematic Universe:
Ero impegnata sul set quando è iniziata la pandemia, quindi ho avuto una vera pausa dal lavoro. Ho già visto molti film. Ho avuto un abbonamento a Disney+ quando ho ottenuto la parte, così ho potuto vedere molti dei lungometraggi.

Nella serie Marvel di Loki ci sarà anche Richard E. Grant, e l’attore ha condiviso il proprio entusiasmo su Twitter con un messaggio.
Tom Hiddleston e io abbiamo parlato per anni di poter lavorare insieme e finalmente ci riusciremo in Loki.

Il ruolo per il quale l’attore è entrato nella serie lo scorso marzo è ancora avvolto nel mistero, e non sono stati svelati particolari dettagli sul suo personaggio, se non che apparirà in un solo episodio della serie. Per Grant, si tratta di un altro ruolo in un film basato sui personaggi Marvel dopo quello del dr. Zander Rice nel film Logan di James Mangold. Al momento l’attore appare sugli schermi americani nella serie tv della AMC Dispatches from Elsewhere.
In una intervista di qualche tempo fa, Hiddleston aveva parlato brevemente della serie dichiarando che lo show risponderà a due domande rimaste in sospeso sul personaggio alla luce degli eventi visti in Avengers: Endgame.

Qualcuno ha iniziato a guardarla? La raccomando non fosse solo per i pochi muniti di animazione del primo episodio in cui si racconta un episodio cruciale per il futuro del MCU: il concetto di Multiverso, che verrà esplorato bene a partire dai prossimi film e, prima di allora, sicuramente anche nelle prossime puntate di questa interessante serie televisiva. Già si vocifera essere in cantiere la seconda stagione, a differenza delle miniserie precedenti autoconcluse, ovvero WandaVision e The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Loki pare dover raccontare tanto di sé e, stando alle ultime notizie, sarà il primo personaggio MCU ad avere una sessualità fluida, si vocifera infatti che possa cambiare pure genere nel corso delle puntate.

Purtroppo "WandaVision" e parzialmente "The Falcon..." hanno pagato lo scotto della pandemia e i vari fermi, che hanno costretto ad accelerare e correggere qualcosa in corsa per quanto riguarda la sceneggiatura. Considerando queste premesse credo che abbiano complessivamente fatto un lavoro molto buono. WandaVision accelera e crea un pò di confusione sul finale ma assolve al percorso di evoluzione e chiusura della storia di Wanda piuttosto bene; sicuramente al talento della Olsen si deve il 70% del successo. In mano ad altri questa serie non sarebbe stata così efficace.

A me nonostante tutto wandavision mi è piaciuta tantissimo.
La Olsen è stata eccelsa e ha dimostrato di essere una grande attrice, secondo me se sceglie bene i prossimi film sfonderà come la Johansson o la Robbie.
L'uniche cose che mi hanno davvero deluso sono i piani dei due cattivi,che non hanno senso, però ce alla fine ho chiuso un occhio.
Scarlett Witch è diventato il mio personaggio preferito Marvel,quindi fate un po' voi...

In effetti già dal secondo episodio si era iniziato a parlare del personaggio come di una versione dell’Incantatrice, un altro personaggio dei fumetti:

Sylvie non si considera davvero una “Loki”. Quindi quanto hai preso dalla performance di Tom Hiddleston nel suo ruolo di Loki quando hai plasmato il tuo personaggio?
Ho guardato la sua performance, ma ho cercato di non farmi influenzare troppo. Sylvie ha un retroscena molto diverso da Loki. È una persona diversa, e questo è stato molto importante per noi fin dall’inizio. Finora la serie non mi aveva colpito ma col quarto episodio non solo ha decollato...Volaaa...Non vedo l'ora di vedere il prossimo. Il multiverso appare in tutta la sua gloria e mi sembra ormai evidente che qualcosa che accade in questa puntata si troverà anche nel terzo film di Spider-Man: No Way Home, ci scommetto .

Per ora sembra che sia la serie Marvel fatta meglio,anche se io continuo a preferire wandavision.

Fin dalla sua prima apparizione, si è fatto un gran parlare di Sylvie nella serie tv Marvel di Loki e su quale fosse la sua reale identità. Inizialmente il personaggio era stato presentato come una variante di Loki, poi però avevamo scoperto che si trattava di una donna, e che non amava farsi chiamare Lady Loki. Il nome che si era scelta, Sylvie, aveva da subito fatto pensare che in realtà si trattasse di un personaggio completamente diverso, l’Incantatrice. In realtà, stando alle parole della regista Kate Herron, quello interpretato da Sophia Di Martino è un personaggio del tutto nuovo.

Ecco come è nato il personaggio di Sylvie nella serie Loki:
Abbiamo lavorato con la mia costumista, Christine Wada. E ci siamo dette, ‘OK, quindi ha questo mantello, ovviamente.’ E indossa questo mantello perché cerca di nascondersi. Ma è qualcosa che puoi anche ricavare dai suoi capelli. I suoi capelli sono tinti di biondo. Abbiamo visto molti personaggi in molti romanzi e film farlo. Vanno in bagno e si tingono di un colore diverso se sono in fuga. Ci siamo chiesti: “OK, allora dov’è questo personaggio rispetto alla sua identità?” Perché non le piace essere chiamata Loki. Penso che la cosa davvero fondamentale per lei sia che è un personaggio completamente originale, completamente nato dai nostri autori, e questo, per me, è stato eccitante.

E poi, si è trattato davvero solo di lavorare con Sophia nel retroscena e lei che chiedeva: “OK, quindi, com’è? Non so davvero niente di lei, grazie per il vantaggio tattico”. Ma ovviamente, man mano che lo show si svolgeva, avremmo rivelato di più e, in mancanza di un’analogia migliore, tolto un altro strato alla cipolla.[...]

E chi glielo dice a chi non ha Disney+ oppure non segue le serie TV che adesso sono di fondamentale importanza e non un semplice derivato dei prodotti cinematografici per il continuum del Marvel Cinematic Universe? Cioè, Loki, con l'ultima puntata, ha dato ufficialmente e platealmente avvio alla fase 4: le battaglie nel Multiverso. Episodio grandioso.
E comunque, stagione 2 ufficialmente programmata e confermata.

Questa serie non mi è piaciuta. Gli episodi 1, 3 e 6 sono molto lenti e mi hanno annoiato, gli altri più interessanti ma comunque con scene che sanno di filler. L'impressione è che la Marvel abbia strutturato la serie come un film, per poi aggiungere roba fino ad arrivare al minutaggio desiderato... per me Loki poteva essere un discreto film da 2 ore e mezza.

Su questo ti dò ragione, è stata la serie che mi ha meno coinvolto ma anche quella con un potenziale rivelatorio decisamente più vasto sul complesso MCU.

Esatto, ormai ne parlano ovunque e non è più uno spoiler. Piuttosto sarebbe bene che tutti guardassero questa sesta puntata per capirne le regole, ma credo che una sintesi verrà data anche in qualche film della fase 4. Probabilmente Spider-Man No Way Home, quasi sicuramente qualcosa in Ant-Man 3, dove il Regno Quantico sarà parte in causa nel suo funzionamento e percorrenza tra un universo e l'altro, come già abbiamo annusato negli ultimi film degli Avengers col viaggio nel tempo.

Loki sinceramente non mi ha preso molto apparte negli ultimi episodi.
Spero che Sylvie alla fine assumerà il ruolo dell'incantatrice

Come serie l'ho preferita a Falcon and the Winter Soldier, ma l'ho trovata abbastanza confusionaria e quando si tratta di viaggi nel tempo/multiversi è un attimo a non far quadrare bene le cose...speriamo che nel prossimo film di Doctor Strange migliorino la situazione riguardo ai multiversi. Comunque Wandavision rimane per me la serie migliore!

Io ho amato molto questa serie. Trovo poco azzeccata la recitazione di Sophia di Martino in certi punti, ma gli altri attori danno veramente il tutto per tutto, Wilson, Hiddleston, e Mbata-Raw. Non l'ho trovato noioso, anzi, ho percepito i momenti più lenti come punti dove sono stati approfonditi i rapporti tra i personaggi. Per far credere a uno spettatore che conosce la natura di Loki a un suo vero cambiamento, al fatto che possa instaurare una vera amicizia che lo lega al personaggio di Wilson, ma soprattutto per far credere che Loki possa infatuarsi di Sylvie, c'era bisogno di una scrittura davvero fatta bene, che secondo me qui troviamo, forse a discapito del ritmo dell'azione.

Mi ha convinto un sacco l'attore di Colui Che Rimane! Che recitazione sublime! E come è scritto e pensato bene! All'inizio non mi convinceva, ma era proprio pensato bene come personaggio per il ruolo che doveva ricoprire!

Vero o no si dovrà essere strateghi scientifici nel pianificare le sorti del MCU d'ora in poi, sperando che non si incartino in problemi di continuità e incongruenza per me tante cose sono già un pò confuse.

Nell’ultimo episodio di Loki, la serie TV Marvel Studios arrivata a giugno su Disney+, abbiamo conosciuto un villain molto noto nel pantheon della Casa delle Idee, ovvero sia Kang (anche se nella puntata la sua variante viene chiamata Colui che Rimane), personaggio interpretato da Jonathan Majors che, a quanto pare, anche se in maniera molto discreta per così dire, ha avuto a che fare pure con gli eventi di Avengers: Endgame e della Saga dell’Infinito in genere.

In una recente intervista con The Direct, la regista di Loki, Kate Herron, ha affermato che secondo lei è stato proprio Kang a “scrivere” gli eventi della Saga dell’Infinito e di Avengers: Endgame. Parlando con il magazine citato, la regista offre la sua visione dei fatti circa quanto accaduto dal 2008 a oggi nell’Universo Cinematografico della Marvel. Una lettura che, sostanzialmente, va ad escludere la presenza del libero arbitrio nei film (e nelle serie TV) del franchise che abbiamo visto da Iron Man in poi:
Suppongo che, in base alla logica stessa del nostro show la risposta sia sì “Io ho spianato la strada, voi l’avete percorsa”. Ergo sì, in teoria, potrebbe aver scritto tutto lui in base al nostro show, è proprio quello che diciamo. È stato tutto predeterminato dal questo personaggio, anche se, fino a questo punto, abbiamo pensato che i personaggi agissero in base al libero arbitrio. Penso che sia proprio questa la parte divertente della nostra serie, no?

La regista prosegue:
Ricordo che anche io, la prima volta che ho letto la sceneggiatura, ho pensato“Cosa? Le gemme dell’Infinito sono in un cassetto? ma che diamine!”. Ovviamente pensavo ciò in senso positivo. Perché ci mostra che la TVA ha questo potere inedito [nell’UCM, ndr.] ed è proprio quello che desideri avere quando devi raccontare una storia.
Eppure, per ammissione della regista di Loki, anche la Time Variance Authority potrebbe sbagliare in merito ad alcuni concetti di lettura del tempo:
Anche nelle cose più basiche, è come per la nostra linea temporale che, secondo la TVA, è lineare mentre invece non lo è. È un cerchio. Sai, è questo l’aspetto divertente di tutti i progetti Marvel: la sovversione delle aspettative che spero possa continuare anche con questa nuova fase. È quello che fa andare avanti la storia.

Poi, circa l’onniscienza di Kang, aggiunge:
Credo che in quel momento, quando superano la soglia, lui sia sincero nell’affermare “Siamo in un tempo completamente imprevisto ora. Non so cosa accadrà”. C’è una discussione interessante in corso.
Naturalmente, questo non impedisce a Kang di avere una idea generale di quello che potrebbe accadere:
Probabilmente ha un’idea di massima di quello che potrebbe accadere in caso di vittoria di Sylvie o di Loki, ma non può prevederlo con esattezza.

Jonathan Majors è stato scelto dalla Marvel per il ruolo di Kang il Conquistatore e il suo debutto nella serie Loki ha convinto gli spettatori e i critici. L’attore ha ora svelato in che modo è stato coinvolto dai produttori della serie nel progetto con star Tom Hiddleston.
Majors, intervistato da Total Film, ha dichiarato:
Immagino mi abbiano notato dopo The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Non posso dire con certezza se sono riuscito a ottenere il ruolo dopo quel film. Il team Marvel ha sempre i suoi metodi.

È come ottenere un ruolo alla scuola d’arte drammatica. Semplicemente ti stanno osservando. Non fai un’audizione per i ruoli. Entri nella scuola e poi il preside controlla quello che stai facendo. Se ti vogliono vieni contattato ed è quello che è successo.
L’interprete di Kang è intervenuto anche nello speciale Assembled: The Making of Loki in cui ha spiegato il suo approccio all’interpretazione di Colui che rimane sostenendo che si tratta di una presenza all’insegna dell’ambiguità e di cui non si capiscono le motivazioni, sottolineando che si tratta di qualcuno che ha vissuto davvero a lungo: Una delle cose grandiose che ho vissuto con chi si è occupato dei costumi della serie è che ogni capo che abbiamo deciso di usare proviene da un posto diverso. Il mantello era di epoca vittoriana. Le scarpe erano legate a Gengis Khan. I pantaloni venivano dalla Mongolia… Semplicemente mescoli gli elementi, li metti insieme e questo aiuta a formare il personaggio.

‘Loki’ Season 2 Begins Filming

Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series, Loki, has begun filming on its second season. Production is taking place in the UK at Pinewood Studios. Cinematographer Isaac Bauman took to Instagram to share the news with the caption, “Day 1, Just the beginning…:”.

Bauman shared the image via his Instagram story but has since vanished. We are not sure if that decision was by personal choice or by Marvel Studios, but the June start date for Loki season 2 has been set for quite some time now. Thankfully, Twitter user @enchantcrs shared the image for all to see.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the titular God of Mischief. Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are also confirmed to be returning. Mbatha-Raw previously revealed in an interview with GMA that she’ll be returning as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, and Hiddleston has told Jimmy Kimmel that the whole cast is back, so expect to see more familiar faces. Just recently, Eugene Cordero, who appeared in the first season as the TVA’s Secretary Casey, has confirmed he will be reprising his role.

Details on Loki season two are being kept under wraps. Moon Knight directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead are set to direct the six-episode series. Hot off Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Michael Waldron returns as head writer on the series.

Season one of Marvel Studios’ Loki, the series sees the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief, takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Loki S2 starts UK shoot with Tom Hiddleston

The second series of Marvel’s Loki starring Tom Hiddleston begins a UK shoot today, 13 June, for delivery to Disney+.


Loki is the third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to be produced by Marvel Studios and is created by Michael Waldron, based on the Marvel Comics character.


The story takes place after the events covered in the 2019 feature film Avengers: Endgame, when Loki takes the Space Stone.


Hiddleston is once again in place as the titular god of mischief; production on the six-episode run is based at Pinewood Studios. The whole shoot is due to take place in the UK this time around - Season One filmed largely at Pinewood’s Atlanta Studios from February 2020.


Disney has taken a long-term lease at Pinewood Studios as part of its ever-increasing UK presence. Streaming channel Disney+ has upped the level of UK-based original content commissions too: currently in production is Lookout Point’s hefty swashbuckling drama The Ballad of Renegade Nell and eight-episode updated iteration of The Full Monty.


The post-production work on Seven Stories’ and Moonriver TV’s Nautilus, now filming in Queensland for Disney+, will be done in the UK.

Marvel's Loki Season 2 wraps filming in London

Season two filming of the Disney+ Loki series has wrapped in London, according to the cast and crew on social media.

A series of images reveal various cast and crew celebrating the final day of shooting; with some wearing wrap day merchandise, including a Miss Minutes ball cap.

Other images reveal members of the hair and make-up team and a bouquet of flowers.

Based on the Marvel Comics, season one saw Loki (Tom Hiddleston) brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority after stealing the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame, and is forced to help catch a dangerous variant version of himself.

Plot details for the second season will be shared in due course.

Loki S2 was officially announced on July 14, 2021. It is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2023.

Loki Season 2

It’s all about the multiverse with Loki Season 2. A fresh look at the Disney Showcase of the six-episode series teases the return of some familiar Marvel faces, including Ravonna, Sylvie, and Hunter B-15. A sneak peek at the upcoming Marvel slate from the Disney Content Showcase seems to promise a good time for fans ahead, and not just on the silver screen. Co-president of Marvel Studios, Louis D’Esposito, confirmed earlier during the Disney Content APAC Showcase that there’ll be no change in plans to have more characters to get their own time to shine on Disney+, so the streaming platform won’t be left behind in the dust, either.

Nonostante lo stand-by e il rinvio di molte serie, decise dal ritorno di Bob Iger alla direzione della Disney, coincidente con la volontà di premiare la qualità sulla quantità (evviva), il ritorno di Loki e la sua seconda stagione dovrebbe comunque essere più o meno rispettato.

Stante le dichiarazioni di Owen Wilson, la stagione due sarà pubblicata a fine di quest'estate o al più a settembre.
