King T'Challa is coming back for more in Phase 4 of the MCU! Black Panther 2 has officially been confirmed as part of the studio's plans beyond Avengers: Endgame. This news may not come as a total surprise, given how successful the first movie was, but that doesn't make it any less exciting for those who want to return to Wakanda once again. The announcement was made during Marvel Studios' Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con and, as is almost always the case, they didn't disappoint.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took the stage at Hall H to reveal their first official Phase 4 plans. While they didn't say much when it comes to Black Panther 2, the title was dropped at the end of the panel as something they're working on. Though, it's not as far along as some of the other projects they announced, which is why they didn't dedicate more time to it at SDCC. At the end of the presentation, Feige also teased projects such as the Fantastic Four and X-Men reboots, as well as Captain Marvel 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It had previously been reported that Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first movie, would be returning to write and direct the sequel. However, this is the first time that Marvel has confirmed the news. And when it comes to Marvel, it's not official until they say so. Coogler was not present at the panel. It's also very safe to assume that Chadwick Boseman will be back in the title role. There was some doubt about that following Infinity War, given that he was dusted by Thanos. But the heroes managed to set things right in Avengers: Endgame and Boseman can return safely as T'Challa, the rightful King of Wakanda.
Other Phase 4 movies that were discussed in greater detail included Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Widow, Thor: Love and Thunder and a Blade, which will star Mahershala Ali in the title role. Black Widow will be the first Phase 4 movie to arrive in theaters, as it's already filming and is scheduled to arrive on May 1, 2020.
Black Panther proved to be a sensation. Released in 2018, the movie grossed a staggering $1.34 billion at the global box office, besting everyone's expectations. The movie also earned a great deal of critical praise, as It currently boasts a 97 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie also went on to earn three Oscar wins, including for Best Original Score, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design. There is no indication currently when Black Panther 2 will arrive in theaters. Plot details are also currently being kept under wraps at this time. We'll be sure to keep you posted as any further details are revealed by Marvel.

Marvel’s Black Panther was a phenomenon. Not only did the movie earn rave reviews and take in boffo box office, it was also nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Can Marvel strike gold twice with Black Panther II? There’s definitely a damn good chance, since Ryan Coogler is returning to write and direct. The first tease of Black Panther 2 popped-up at this year’s D23 Expo – here’s what we saw.
Ryan Coogler appeared onstage at D23 to reveal that the treatment for Black Panther II, which is still untitled, is complete. Coogler was tight-lipped on who the villain would be for the sequel to the 2018 smash hit, but did announce the theatrical release date would be May 6, 2022.
“I’m working on it trying to give fans something special,” Coogler said.
Chadwick Boseman returns as T’Challa / Black Panther in Black Panther 2, Ryan Coogler’s follow-up to his mega-Marvel hit. When asked in the past what he hoped to explore in the sequel, Ryan Coogler said: “Without getting into specifics, what I’ll say is something that I kind of, you know, what I struggled with at first is the difference between T’Challa in the comic books versus T’Challa in the MCU. And I always think that the differences lie in how old he was when he lost his father.”
Black Panther hits theaters on May 6, 2022.

Doctor Doom Rumored To Appear In ‘Black Panther 2’
We are still a little over two years away from Black Panther 2, however we are slowly learning new details about the project, and thanks to a new report Marvel Studios may be using a recently acquired character in the upcoming sequel.
According to Murphy’s Multiverse, popular Marvel villain Doctor Doom will appear in the film as he begins expanding his empire into Africa, coming into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and thus T’Challa. Fans of the comics will remember that Doomwar saw Doom invade Wakanda in pursuit of its most valuable resource, Vibranium.
As of now this is a rumor and the site wants everyone to know that their source is solid but they have yet to confirm it as of now so treat the rumor as such. Murphy’s Multiverse is run by Charles Murphy, a friend and someone I’ve written with at a previous entertainment site, so I can validate that any info Murphy and his site shares is worth reporting on.

We do know that Marvel Studios and COO Kevin Feige have plans for Doom, as he met with Noah Hawley (Legion) in the past to discuss his ideas for a solo film focusing on the iconic villain. As of now, that film is dead, so it’s possible the studio could take ideas from Hawley’s script.
Not much else is known about Black Panther 2 at this time but it was confirmed at Disney’s D23 Expo this past August that Ryan Coogler would return to direct and that the screenplay is finished. The cast from the first film are all expected to return.
Released in 2018, the first Black Panther was a critical and financial hit grossing $700 million domestically and over $1.3 billion globally overall. The film was nominated for 6 Academy Awards including Best Picture (which it ultimately lost to Green Book). The film did take home awards for Best Original Score, Costume Design, Production Design.
Black Panther 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6 2022.

Dopo la scomparsa di Chadwick Boseman, il Black Panther dei Marvel Studios, i fan si sono riversati in massa su Twitter per opporsi a un eventuale recasting del personaggio.
È decisamente presto per chiedersi delle sorti del franchise di Pantera Nera, ma è innegabile (dando un’occhiata sui social) che i fan abbiano chiesto e continuino a chiedere a gran voce che la Casa delle Idee non scelga un altro attore per affidargli il ruolo di T’Challa.
I recasting nell’Universo Cinematografico Marvel, ricordiamo, ci sono stati solo in rare occasioni, vedasi Edward Norton (Bruce Banner) e Terrence Howard (Rhodey).

Disney Grapples With How to Proceed on 'Black Panther' Without Chadwick Boseman
Outside of family, only a small group of insiders was aware of the Marvel star’s battle with cancer, and now studio executives are grieving and figuring out a way forward.
On Aug. 28, Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige received an urgent email regarding Chadwick Boseman, with no further information. Unbeknownst to anyone at the studio, the Black Panther star had been battling colon cancer privately for four-plus years and had taken a sudden turn for the worse. By the time Feige read the message an hour later, Boseman already had died, sending shock waves through Disney and the tight-knit Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A source close to Boseman tells The Hollywood Reporter that the 43-year-old actor, who had become noticeably thin in recent months, was convinced until about a week before his death that he was going to beat cancer and would be able to gain the weight back for a Black Panther sequel that was scheduled to go into production in March. The actor was even set to prepare for the new film beginning in September.
Now, the studio is processing the grief of losing a loved one — an actor beloved and respected on- and offscreen — while having to face the economic realities of forging ahead with a billion-dollar franchise without its titular star. Furthermore, his death will ripple across the Marvel film universe, given that the Black Panther character was poised to appear in other interconnected films, as Boseman already had done in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and last year’s all-time top box office grosser, Avengers: Endgame.
Disney sources say the company is processing its grief and that its focus at this stage is to pay tribute to Boseman and not on the making of a Black Panther sequel. Only a handful of non-family members knew that Boseman was sick, including producing partner Logan Coles, longtime agent Michael Greene, trainer Addison Henderson and 42 director Brian Helgeland — with varying degrees of knowledge about the severity of the actor’s condition. No one involved with Black Panther was aware, says a source. It was Boseman’s wish to keep his cancer battle private.
Many are left wondering how Boseman kept his diagnosis under wraps while shooting a film with a colossal budget like the $200 million Black Panther in 2017 (the film opened the following year and went on to earn $1.35 billion worldwide and was nominated for a best picture Oscar). But film finance attorney Schuyler Moore says a Marvel star wouldn’t likely require a medical examination for insurance purposes.
“Big studios don’t often [get] completion bonds,” says Moore. “They are more prevalent in the indie filmmaking world. Sometimes, the big studios will look to insure for a particular actor, but they usually have a particular reason for doing so. Otherwise, studios will just shoulder the risk [of sickness or death].”
In recent years, studios have contended with the sudden deaths of franchise stars including Disney in 2016 with Star Wars’ Carrie Fisher at age 60, Universal in 2013 with Fast & Furious’ Paul Walker at 40, and Warner Bros. in 2008 with The Dark Knight’s Heath Ledger at 28. In each case, the studios found ways to move ahead with all-important franchises while also honoring beloved or fan-favorite actors.
In Fisher’s case, Disney’s Lucasfilm initially said it would carry on without Princess Leia — one of the most popular characters in modern film history — for 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. It later changed course, putting Fisher back into the story, with director J.J. Abrams incorporating a combination of unused footage from 2015’s The Force Awakens and 2017’s The Last Jedi and CG effects to create Fisher’s scenes in Skywalker. “We assembled this enormous matrix of everything that she ever said, and [co-writer] Chris Terrio essentially went through the footage and wrote her scenes based around the lines that were available,” VFX supervisor Roger Guyett of Industrial Light & Magic told THR in January.
Likewise, Universal had issues of its own when star Walker died in a car crash while on a break from filming the seventh installment of Fast & Furious. After pressing pause on production, the studio and director James Wan came up with a plan that would salvage the movie but retire the character and give him an appropriate sendoff. The production used Walker’s two brothers as stand-ins for scenes and scans of their bodies were used for others, with Walker’s face coming from outtakes or even other movies.
With Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Warners launched a robust awards-season campaign for Ledger, who won a posthumous supporting actor Oscar.
Still, the challenges Disney faces are, in some ways, unprecedented given that Boseman is Black Panther’s eponymous star. The closest approximation would be The Crow’s Brandon Lee, killed in an on-set accident only a few days away from completing the film in 1993 (the film’s script was tweaked, and Crow was finished with the help of early CGI technology and stunt doubles).
Most observers agree that Disney has several options. One is to replace Boseman, which could generate a fan outcry and prompt inevitable comparisons between actors. Even with a scheduled release date of 2022, already iffy due to the coronavirus pandemic, few actors may be willing to take on that challenge. The second option, which may be more tenable, is to make T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright) the new Black Panther. That scenario also aligns with events portrayed in one of the comic book series on which the film is based.
Whatever direction Disney takes, the loss of Boseman to the franchise is immeasurable. As Coogler wrote in his remembrance of the star: “I spent the last year preparing, imagining and writing words for him to say, that we weren’t destined to see. It leaves me broken knowing that I won’t be able to watch another close-up of him in the monitor again or walk up to him and ask for another take.”

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are still mourning the sudden and shocking loss of Chadwick Boseman, but the studio will soon be forced to make some difficult decisions about the creative direction of Black Panther 2. There might already be a May 2022 release date locked in and pre-production is now underway, but there’s not a single person that would be upset if the sequel was delayed for the foreseeable future.
After all, Boseman was the leading man of the MCU’s biggest box office hit that wasn’t an Avengers movie, one that marked a cultural milestone for blockbuster cinema and inspired a generation in the process. However, director Ryan Coogler and the rest of the returning cast and crew could well decide that the best way to honor the actor’s memory would be to create something that they know he’d be proud of.
The long game for Marvel has always been to have Letitia Wright’s Shuri inherit the mantle of Black Panther from her elder brother, that much we know. Although, this wasn’t expected to happen until the King of Wakanda’s third or fourth solo outing.
Boseman’s passing might accelerate these plans, however, because we’ve now heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Taskmaster would be the villain in Black Widow, Netflix is developing a Witcher prequel and a Ms. Marvel show is coming to Disney Plus, all of which were correct – that the passing of the torch is likely to happen in Black Panther II if the project moves forward on its current schedule.
According to our intel, the plan right now is to have T’Challa die off-screen and his death addressed in the early stages of the story, with Shuri poised to become her nation’s protector in the film. The former monarch’s shadow will of course loom large over the narrative as Black Panther 2 pays tribute to Boseman’s iconic take on the superhero, while this course of action will also continue his legacy by having another popular character assume the role and lead the franchise into the future.

Mi sembrerebbe la decisione più sensata, inoltre il film guadagnerebbe un impatto emotivo enorme per il continuo parallelismo che si avrebbe con la realtà. Boseman e T'Challa sono considerati un tutt'uno inseparabili. Il film rappresenterebbe un tributo ai quali pochi si negherebbero. Avrebbe già scritto bilioni di dollari prima ancora di essere girato, secondo il mio parere.

Tenoch Huerta in Talks to Play Villain in Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ Sequel
Marvel Studios is prepping its untiled Black Panther sequel, which is expected to hit theaters in 2022, hopefully by then, theatergoing will be a thing again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta is currently in talks to play an unknown villain in the upcoming sequel. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are expected to return, with Wright expected to take on an expanded role in the franchise moving forward.
The trade also revealed that the sequel is expected to start production in Atlanta, where most of Marvel’s projects shoot, in July and last upwards of six months.
Marvel, which had no comment on The Hollywood Reporters’ story, has not revealed it’s plans on how it plans to proceed without the late Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away this summer, after a long secretive battle with cancer. Although, the studio has indicated that it will not use any CGI to include the late star in the film, which was something Lucasfilm did in both Rogue One and The Rise of Skywalker, with Disney Legend Carrie Fisher.
Story details on the sequel are being kept underwraps but Ryan Coogler is set to return to direct with the script already written.

Black Panther 2 Will Not Recast T’Challa
During the Disney Investor Day, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige announced that the upcoming Black Panther II will not recast T’Challa following the death of Chadwick Boseman. Instead, the film will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the Ryan Coogler movie.
“Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally,” Feige said (via SlashFilm). “His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends any iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for that reason that we will not recast the character. Michael B. Jordan Rumored To Return For ‘Black Panther 2’
So much for burying him with his ancestors…
According to a new report from Fandomwire, Michael B. Jordan could be reprising his role as Killmonger in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther sequel.
Now, we can’t confirm this report, but if true, it’s unknown just how big of a role he’d play. He could wind up showing up in flashbacks, but he could also potentially go on to take up the Black Panther mantle.
After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman last year, fans have floated several ideas and theories about who would wear the mask next. While Leticia Wright’s Shuri seems like the most obvious choice, she may have actually hurt her chances after sharing some controversial tweets recently that condemning the COVID-19 vaccine.
Another candidate that’s been suggested is Winston Duke’s M’Baku. Considering the character pursued the mantle in the first film and just how much of a star Duke’s become since the release of the first film, it’s easy to see why choosing him would be a no-brainer.

At this point, it’s unclear if the studio plans to even address the death of Boseman, though it’s been made abundantly clear that T’Challa will not be recast and that no CGI double will be used to replace him.
Fandomwire has also previously reported that the film could introduce Dr. Doom and Namor. After a subtle reference to some “seismic activity” near Wakanda in Avengers: Endgame, the latter would be a little more plausible. Considering that Killmonger wanted his body to be tossed into the ocean, if Namor could be the one to save him.
This is all just speculation though.
It’s unknown when production is scheduled to start for Black Panther 2, but the film currently has a July 8, 2022 release date.

Secondo me se tornasse Michael B. Jordan, redento, dietro la maschera di Black Panther sarebbe la scelta migliore per una serie di motivi:
1) Jordan è un nome con la N maiuscola, è sexy e molto popolare, perfetto per trascinare il film (non sfigura per niente accanto ai nomi altisonanti di Hemsworth, Evans e Downey Jr.) 2) ha fatto parte del primo film e il seguito, con lui a bordo, sarebbe nel segno della continuità 3) Black Panther deve continuare ad essere un uomo, perché non fosse sfortunatamente mancato il suo protagonista originario, sarebbe continuato ad essere maschio almeno per un pò di film. Laetitia Wright sarà anche brava, per qualcuno (non per me) simpatica (ha un qualcosa di irritante) ma non ha lo status di star capace di reggere e trainare un franchise col suo nome, va benissimo come caratterista e coprotagonista. Quindi Michael, per me la corona è già tua e sarebbe bello il ritorno del suo personaggio come antieroe ed ex cattivo redento, specie se fronteggerà, come rumoreggiato, l'"aquaman" tanto atteso della Marvel, ovvero Namor.

Black Panther 2: Michael B. Jordan open to returning as Killmonger
In a recent interview with People, Creed star Michael B. Jordan addressed the possibility of returning as the fan-favorite villain Erik Killmonger in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther sequel. The actor revealed that he cherished the time he had worked on the acclaimed MCU film, especially after the untimely death of his beloved friend and titular star Chadwick Boseman.
“That’s something that is very, very near and dear to my heart for a lot of obvious reasons,” Jordan said. “[I] had a really tough year losing somebody close to me. And what that means for that franchise is it was devastating.”
If given the opportunity, Jordan admitted that he is always open to return to the Black Panther universe, “But being in that world in a character that I loved playing, and working with [writer/director Ryan Coogler] and all that good stuff, it’s family. We created a family over there. So to be able to be in that world again is something that, I think, will always be on the table in some capacity.”

A wild rumor has hit the net that claims Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page will play the new Black Panther or some version of the character.
The rumor comes from Hollywood gossip site Crazy Days and Nights which is reportedly run by a Hollywood lawyer who leaks insider information about celebs and the industry.
It's claimed that Regé-Jean Page is the early frontrunner to star in Black Panther 2 for Marvel, but it's said Regé-Jean Page will not be playing T'Challa, the character recently played by the late Chadwick Boseman, but Regé-Jean Page will play a new character in the sequel:
"Which foreign born breakout star of that period streaming show is the early frontrunner to play this Marvel superhero? It will be an entirely new alter ego character not the one portrayed by the recently deceased actor.

Regé-Jean Page stars in Netflix's Bridgerton
Bridgerton is currently one of Netflix's most popular shows and there is no doubt that Regé-Jean Page has taken the world by storm where he plays Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings.
Page is a British-Zimbabwean actor also known for Roots, For The People, and he was featured in Mortal Engines as Captain Khora.
Black Panther 2 currently has a July 8, 2022 release date with Ryan Coogler back to write and direct the movie.
It has also recently been announced that Coogler is developing a Black Panther spinoff Disney Plus series about Wakanda, with it said Coogler is also developing additional Marvel projects.

Black Panther 2: Martin Freeman tornerà a interpretare Everett Ross
In una recente intervista con Collider, Martin Freeman ha confermato che tornerà a interpretare Everett Ross in Black Panther 2.
“Sì, sarò anche nel secondo Black Panther” ha confermato l’attore. “Parlerò con Ryan Coogler molto presto per capire un po’ di cose. Non ho letto la sceneggiatura quindi non ho idea di cosa succederà“.
Ha poi aggiunto, sulla scomparsa di Chadwick Boseman:
Non so ancora come sarà. Ovviamente prima che Chad morisse l’idea di farlo senza di lui sarebbe stata stupida. Sarebbe stata folle. È stato sconvolgente ed è ancora molto, molto strano che non sia più tra noi. Sono curioso quanto voi di sapere come sarà e lo scoprirò presto. Tutto ciò che so è che io ci sarò.
In occasione dell’Investor Day della Disney, lo scorso dicembre, i Marvel Studios hanno annunciato anche alcune novità su Black Panther 2 come il fatto che la pellicola non uscirà a maggio 2022 come inizialmente previsto, ma l’8 luglio 2022.
In tale occasione è stato inoltre confermato che il film inoltre non continuerà a raccontare la storia di T’Challa, ma anzi la produzione “onorerà l’eredità di Chadwick Boseman” scegliendo di non affidare il ruolo ad un altro attore. Kevin Feige ha spiegato, infatti, che il sequel “continuerà a esplorare il mondo incredibile di Wakanda e tutti i personaggi diversificati e ricchi presentati nel primo film“.

Black Panther 2 is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming MCU projects. After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, who masterfully embodied T’Challa, fans were saddened by the loss and uncertainty about what would happen to the franchise.
Not much about the story is known other than the fact that T’Challa will not be recast and most of the original Black Panther cast, as well as director Ryan Coogler, are returning. Last month Marvel revealed the title of the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and that the film is still set to be released July 8, 2022 during their “Marvel Studios Celebrates The Movies” trailer.
Fandomwire previously reported that Black Panther 2 would include a conflict between Wakanda and Atlantis which has led to speculation from fans. It was also reported that Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta had joined the cast as an unknown villain. And after some intense digging, The Illuminerdi has learned from our sources that Tenoch Huerta will be playing none other than Namor the Submariner.
NAMOR’S MCU DEBUT IN BLACK PANTHER 2
Fans have long suspected that Namor would be making his MCU debut in Black Panther 2. Namor is one of Marvel’s first characters, making his first public appearance in Marvel Comics #1 the first comic book of Timely Comics the predecessor of Marvel. Namor is also considered the first antihero in comic books. Namor is the mutant son of a human father and Atlantean mother and is Atlantean royalty eventually taking his place on the throne.
Namor has a long and storied history in Marvel Comics portrayed as an antihero, a short-tempered superhero, and an antagonist attacking the surface dwellers who he perceives as wronging his kingdom and people. Although many of Namor’s powers come from his Atlantean heritage, he also possesses uniquely mutant abilities like flight. Namor and Atlantis have a long history with Wakanda and T’Challa in the comics, with the two hidden kingdoms known for warring against each other.
POC Culture revealed that Black Panther 2 was looking to cast one Mayan woman called “Zyanya” and one Mayan man called “Cadmael”. They also reported that “the casting call indicates that all actors of North and South American Indigenous backgrounds will be considered for the roles.”
We at The Illuminerdi can reveal that the two “Mayan warriors” that Black Panther 2 has been looking to cast are important characters in Namor and Atlantean lore. Zyanya is a codename for Namora, Namor’s cousin, while Cadmael is a codename for Attuma, an Atlantean warlord.
Both of these characters have played important roles in Namor’s story. Namora is Namor’s cousin, although not by blood, and while originally named Aquaria Nautica Neptunia, she was nicknamed Namora in honor of her cousin. She is an ally of Namor’s and like him, Namora is half Atlantean and half mutant with the ability to fly.
Attuma was born into a tribe of Atlantean barbaric nomads who were banished from the underwater kingdom long before his birth. Attuma, born with enhanced strength, speed, and endurance, quickly rose to lead his tribe and declared himself the prophesied conqueror of Atlantis. Attuma is an enemy of Namor fighting and manipulating to steal the throne from him. Although Namor inevitably defeats his adversary, subverting Attuma’s schemes for power. Given the pairs antagonistic relationship it will be interesting to see how Attuma plays into Black Panther 2.
Many fans picked up on a possible tease of the famed Submariner that the writers included in Avengers: Endgame. When Okoye is updating Natasha Romanoff, she asks about underwater tremors off the coast of Africa and when asked how they will handle it Okoye replies that because it is an earthquake under the ocean they handle it by not handling it.
During a quarantine watch party, co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely were directly asked on Twitter if this was a reference to Namor and Christopher Markus confirmed by answering “Sometimes, you plant seeds. Sometimes, they grow.” And it looks like these seeds will come to fruition in the highly anticipated Black Panther 2.
Fans have long been hoping to see the Submariner make his live-action debut in the MCU and Black Panther 2 will finally bring in this historic character. Black Panther 2 is the perfect place to introduce Namor and possibly bring in the long and checkered history between Wakanda and Atlantis from the comics which will raise the stakes in terms of villains. An impressive feat given that Killmonger is considered one of the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Black Panther 2 has an impressive legacy to follow not only with the first Black Panther, but the loss of Chadwick Boseman as the titular character. With Namor, Namora, Attuma, and the underwater kingdom of Atlantis coming into play it looks like the film will be an impressive follow up to its ground-breaking predecessor.

Secondo un nuovo rumor, effettivamente vedremo Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, dove ci sarà ampio spazio per le scene sott’acqua.
In occasione del Disney Investor Day il presidente dei Marvel Studios Kevin Feige ha fornito qualche dettaglio sullo sviluppo del sequel di Black Panther (2018), confermando ufficialmente che T’Challa non sarà interpretato da un nuovo attore per rispetto nei confronti del compianto Chadwick Boseman e che la pellicola – intitolata Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – esplorerà il mondo e i personaggi del Wakanda introdotti nel primo film.
Come alcuni di voi ricorderanno, lo scorso novembre l’attore messicano Tenoch Huerta, noto per aver partecipato alla serie Netflix Narcos: Mexico, è entrato in trattative per interpretare uno degli antagonisti della pellicola, che secondo alcuni rumor sarà proprio Namor il Sub-Mariner, da tempo atteso nell’Universo Cinematografico Marvel.
Successivamente un altro sito del settore ha spiegato che, potenzialmente, nel film potrebbe esserci spazio anche per altri due personaggi chiave legati al Sub-Mariner: Namora e Attuma.
Entrando nel dettaglio, Namora è la cugina di Namor (ma non di sangue) e, proprio come quest’ultimo, è per metà Atlantidea e per metà mutante ed è in grado di volare. Attuma invece è nato in una tribù di barbari di Atlantide banditi dai regni sottomarini con una forza, resistenza e velocità a dir poco straordinarie. Dopo essersi dichiarato nemico di Atlantide, si è scontrato con Namor ed ha provato a strappargli il trono.
Secondo un altro rumor condiviso dal noto insider Charles Murphy, che più volte si è rivelato una fonte affidabile, tantissime scene del film saranno ambientate sott’acqua, quindi presumibilmente ci sarà ampio spazio per Atlantide.
Naturalmente non ci sono conferme effettive in merito alla presenza di Namor e di Atlantide e, anche se lo sostengono insider solitamente affidabili, vi invitiamo a prendere le dovute cautele.
Ricordiamo che Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, scritto e diretto da Ryan Coogler (Creed), è previsto attualmente per l’8 luglio 2022 e vedrà nel cast Letitia Wright (Shuri), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Angela Bassett (Ramonda) e Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross) mentre Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) è attualmente in trattative per interpretare uno degli antagonisti del film. Le riprese inizieranno il prossimo giugno sotto il titolo di lavorazione provvisorio “Summer Break“.

Le riprese di Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, sequel di Black Panther, sono cominciate ieri ai Pinewood Studios di Atlanta.
A confermarlo è stato Kevin Feige in persona a Variety durante la premiere americana di Black Widow, dal 7 luglio nelle sale italiane.
“È chiaramente molto commovente farlo senza Chad” ha commentato il presidente dei Marvel Studios. “Ma tutti sono emozionatissimi di riportare il mondo del Wakanda al pubblico e ai fan. Realizzeremo un film che avrebbe reso Chad fiero di noi“.
Feige ha inoltre precisato che “tutto il cast originale” tornerà nella nuova storia.

Una nuova logline non ufficiale di Black Panther 2 potrebbe aver confermato ciò che tutti i fan si aspettano di vedere nel sequel: lo scontro tra Wakandiani e Atlantidei.
Qualche giorno fa abbiamo appreso la notizia che la produzione di Black Panther: Wakanda Forever è ufficialmente cominciata. Ora, una serie di nuovi dettagli a proposito della trama del sequel potrebbero aver finalmente confermato ciò che tutti i fan si aspettano di vedere nel film: lo scontro tra Wakandiani e Atlantidei.
Il sito Production Weekly (via The DisInsider) riporta, infatti, una nuova logline che indica che al centro della storia che sarà raccontata in Black Panther 2 ci sarà proprio la guerra tra Atlantide e Wakanda, con la conseguente introduzione del tanto bramato personaggio di Namor il Sub-Mariner. È importante precisare che non si tratta di una sinossi ufficiale diffusa dai Marvel Studios, quindi c’è la possibilità che i dettagli riportati non siano totalmente accurati.
“Sia Wakanda che Atlantide sono civiltà nascoste dotate di tecnologia avanzata e grandi capacità militaristiche che hanno deciso di separarsi dal resto del mondo per la propria sicurezza e, in un certo senso, anche per paura. Wakanda temeva che la loro tecnologia sarebbe stata abusata. Allo stesso modo, Atlantide temeva che gli abitanti della superficie venissero a profanare la mitica città proprio come fecero tanti anni fa. Vedremo davvero Namor in Black Panther 2?
Come ben sappiamo, non è la prima volta che il debutto di Namor nel MCU viene associato al sequel di Black Panther, quindi potrebbe davvero esserci un fondo di verità in questa nuova logline. D’altronde, già in Avengers: Endgame alcuni fan avevano scovato un possibile riferimento a Namor, all’interno di uno scambio di battute tra i personaggi di Vedova Nera e Okoye in cui si faceva riferimento ad una serie di “terremoti oceanici”. La cosa interessante è che, tempo dopo, furono proprio gli sceneggiatori del film, Christopher Markus e Stephen McFeely, a lasciar intendere che quella battuta era un velato riferimento proprio al Sub-Mariner…

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Rumored To Have Found Its Namora
For months there have rumblings that Namor would be making his grand entrance into Marvel’s Cinematic Universe with the upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Now, according to a new rumor, it seems that he might not be the only Atlantean we should expect to see in the film.
Thanks to the super sleuths over at Murphy’s Multiverse, it appears that Namora is not only expected to show up, but she’s already in the process of being cast too.
In a recent article, the site says that it recently heard that actress Mabel Cadena (Netflix’s Monarca, Dance of the 41) is possibly one of the names in contention for the role.
Murphy, who wrote the article, even points out how the actress checks off a lot of the boxes that the studio seems to be looking for in the character (age, race, build), and that she and Tenoch Huerta – who is heavily rumored to be playing Namor in the film – has been actively engaging with her social media accounts.
For those unfamiliar with the character, in the comics she is both Namor’s cousin and a crucial founding member of the Agents of Atlas.
As always because this isn’t an official report – and because not even the site knows if the character has actually cast yet – we urge you to take this info with a grain of salt, regardless of how much supporting evidence there is.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently in production in Atlanta, and is targeting a release date of July 8, 2022.

A few weeks back, The Cosmic Circus accurately reported that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would do some shooting at M.I.T.. In their initial report, the site speculated that Riri Williams could be involved due to the characters ties to the school in the comics. Well, it has been officially confirmed.
While doing press for Marvel’s newest film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, ComicBook.com‘s Brandon Davis spoke with Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige and he revealed that Dominique Thorne will appear in the highly-anticipated sequel before appearing in her own Disney+ series Ironheart.
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first. She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”
In the comics, Riri is a science genius who enrolls in MIT at the age of 15. She comes to the attention of Tony when she builds her own Iron Man suit in her dorm.
Ryan Coogler returns to direct the feature with the core cast from the film also returning, this includes Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, and Daniel Kaluuya. Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta and Michaela Coel also joins the sequel, both their roles are being kept under wraps, but rumors are Huerta is playing Namor, and Coel is playing Madame Slade. Dominique Thorne will also appear as the character in Disney+’s Armor Wars series opposite Don Cheadle.
The studio has not revealed its plans on how it plans to proceed without the late Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away last Summer, after a long secretive battle with cancer. Although, the studio has indicated that it will not use any CGI to include the late star in the film, nor will they recast the role.

Il film diretto da Ryan Coogler porterà sul grande schermo la città di Atlantide, patria di Namor secondo un nuovo rumor?
Sono in corso le riprese di Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in uscita a luglio 2022 e sequel del film vincitore di 3 premi Oscar del 2018. Dopo l’improvvisa morte del protagonista Chadwick Boseman, i Marvel Studios hanno dovuto rivedere i propri piani per questo film, che comunque cercherà di rendere onore al popolare attore. Il film sarà nuovamente diretto dal regista Ryan Coogler ed esplorerà ulteriormente la ricca mitologia del Wakanda.
Il primo film è stato un grosso successo di pubblico e critica e, fra le cose più apprezzate del film, ci furono i costumi e la rappresentazione del Regno di Wakanda. Coogler e il suo co-sceneggiatore Robert Cole si sono ispirati a città africane realmente esistenti per far sì che il Wakanda sembrasse il più verosimile possibile. Come spiegato da Cole in un’intervista a Slash Film, la produzione si è ispirata alle miniere di coltan del Congo per le miniere di vibranio, mentre, in generale, il Wakanda richiama molto il Lesotho; l’architettura si è rifatta a quelle di Uganda, Ruanda, Repubblica Democratica del Congo ed Etiopia. Anche i costumi hanno trovato ispirazione nelle molteplici culture del continente africano.
Secondo quanto riportato da The Illuminerdi (una fonte spesso affidabile) il secondo film avrà il compito di introdurre nell’MCU il personaggio di Namor e il regno di Atlantide che, per differenziarlo dal recente film su Aquaman della DC, non verrà chiamata in questo modo. Stando alle casting call, è possibile che Coogler e Cole decidano di ispirarsi alle antiche civiltà mesoamericane (come quella Maya) per creare questa nuova location.
È facile ipotizzare che la produzione metterà la stessa cura nel realizzare la mitica città di Atlantide, cercando di richiamare elementi delle culture Maya, Azteca e, in generale, del centroamerica. In particolare, The Illuminerdi ipotizza che i due si potrebbero rifare alla mitica città Tlālōcān descritta negli antichi testi aztechi come parte dei Tredici Paradisi Aztechi, un regno dove è sempre primavera e ricco di splendido fogliame e piante commestibili. In esso, finivano le persone morte a causa dell’acqua, per esempio le persone che affogavano.
Ovviamente non ci sono conferme effettive in merito, quindi vi invitiamo a prendere le dovute cautele e trattare la notizia esclusivamente come un rumor, in quanto la presenza di Namor non è ancora stata confermata.
Nei fumetti, Namor e la città di Atlantide hanno dei legami con i Devianti, una razza aliena che verrà presentata nell’MCU nel prossimo film Eternals.

TheCosmicCircus riporta che nel film in uscita a novembre 2022 farà il suo debutto in live action il figlio di T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) e Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o).
Nello specifico, i Marvel Studios vogliono continuare ad onorare l’eredità di T’Challa tramite suo figlio, che ovviamente ancora non è pronto ad indossare il costume (ma potrebbe farlo anche in futuro).
Nei fumetti, T’Challa ed Ororo (Tempesta) hanno un figlio di nome Azari. Sarà questo il nome che avrà nel MCU, anche se figlio di Nakia? Solo speculazioni per ora.
Sebbene non ci siano ancora molti dettagli sul personaggio, sembra che nel film avrà una parte piuttosto limitata data la sua giovane età; tuttavia, i Marvel Studios potrebbero avere dei piani a lungo termine per lui, facendolo magari unire agli Young Avengers?
Naturalmente non ci sono conferme effettive in merito, ma il sito (gestito dall’insider Lizzie Hill) si è già rivelato molto affidabile in passato ed è stato il primo ad annunciare il casting di Will Poulter come Adam Warlock, poi confermato da James Gunn.

Le posizioni della star di Black Panther 2 in merito ai vaccino sono ben note: mesi fa, Letitia Wright si è difatti trovata al centro di un discreto polverone. L’attrice aveva pubblicato su twitter, un link a un video su YouTube che metteva in discussione l’opportunità di vaccinarsi contro il Covid-19 e, più in generale, la sicurezza dei vaccini. Nel video, della durata di 64 minuti e privo di riscontri oggettivi, il presentatore esordiva dicendo “Non so nulla sui vaccini a livello medico, ma sono sempre stato piuttosto scettico”. Dopo aver condiviso il video, la Wright ha iniziato a discutere con gli utenti che la accusavano di utilizzare Twitter per diffondere “disinformazione sui vaccini”, rispondendo di non essere contro i vaccini, ma di ritenere importante “porsi delle domande”: “Penso sia giusto e corretto chiedersi semplicemente cosa contengono” (ECCO ALTRI DETTAGLI). Kevin Feige Gives Update on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Filming Shutdown
Earlier this month, it has been reported that production on Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was temporarily shutdown due to Letitia Wright’s critical shoulder fracture and concussion which she sustained during its Boston filming last August. Now, studio executives Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Nate Moore have officially sent a joint statement to the cast and crew, addressing the highly-anticipated project’s filming shutdown.
In the note obtained by Deadline, Feige, D’Esposito, and Moore have confirmed that the studio is currently planning to resume the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sometime in January 2022. They also went to express their gratitude to the cast and crew’s hard work and dedication on the sequel, while also acknowledging Wright for her commitment to the role despite her injuries and how hard she’s working to recover as quickly as she can to get back on set.
“We’ve adjusted our production schedule so [Letitia] has the time she needs to heal, but there’s only so much we can do without Shuri!” said the note from Feige, D’Esposito, and Moore. “We also want to thank Letitia for everything she’s doing to get back to the set – we know how much she loves this role, how tough it’s been for her to be away, and how hard she’s working to recover as quickly as she safely can. We are eagerly awaiting her return and we know we will all come back stronger together.
“Please be on the lookout for more information on your specific return-to-work date. As of now, we’re on schedule to resume filming – with Letitia – in January 2022. We are all focused on finishing the movie with excellence, honoring the memory of our dear brother Chadwick in the process. We are thrilled to share Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with the world, confident that the challenges that we have overcome together as a team will make the film even more impactful. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is once again being directed by Ryan Coogler from a screenplay he is co-writing with Joe Robert Cole. It will see the return of most of its original main cast including Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M’Baku.
In addition, Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) has reportedly been cast as the upcoming film’s antagonist, with some fans and outlets speculating that he might be playing the role of Namor. I May Destroy You creator-star Michaela Coel has also reportedly signed on for an undisclosed role.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently slated to hit theaters on November 11, 2022, over two years following the untimely passing of titular star and acclaimed actor Chadwick Boseman, who died at the age of 43 after his four-year-long private battle with colon cancer.

Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending sets up two possible appearances for Zendaya's Michelle in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. Audiences have had the opportunity to see Zendaya in three MCU movies to date, all of which have been part of Tom Holland's Spider-Man trilogy. Her role continued to grow with each installment as Michelle and Peter Parker grew closer. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home set up an uncertain future for MJ and Peter, allowing Zendaya to appear in other MCU projects during Phase 4.
The entire plot of Spider-Man: No Way Home revolves around Peter trying to make everyone forget he is Spider-Man so his life and the lives of those closest to him can go back to normal. This includes Michelle, who MIT rejects due to her connection to Spider-Man. Peter ultimately made the decision to have Doctor Strange erase all memories of him, which allowed Michelle and Ned Leeds to be accepted into MIT during Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending. While Michelle is likely to return for Spider-Man 4, her MCU return doesn't have to wait that long anymore.
Michelle going to MIT for college means that Zendaya could appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It is confirmed that a portion of the movie takes place at MIT as part of the MCU's introduction of Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart (Dominique Thorne). Although it isn't known when Black Panther 2 takes place in the MCU timeline, it most likely is set after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Michelle and Riri will both be students at MIT during this time then, so their paths could cross. Michelle could even meet Shuri or members of the Dora Milaje potentially. Either way, there is now a natural way to include Zendaya alongside Black Panther 2's predominantly Black cast.
Regardless of Zendaya's MCU future appearance in Black Panther 2, Marvel can still use Michelle's MIT connection to bring her back for Ironheart. This could be dependent on how much of Riri's Disney+ show takes place at college versus on a superhero mission or back in her hometown of Chicago. But, Zendaya appearing in Ironheart could help establish that Michelle and Riri Williams are friends after spending time together at MIT. They could even be roommates if Michelle decides not to live with Ned, which was Peter's plan.
Either of these possible MCU appearances for Zendaya would be a great opportunity for Marvel to flesh out Michelle as a character. Her role in the Spider-Man franchise hasn't allowed much of Michelle's life to be explored. She's been used as a secondary character in Spider-Man's story, but Black Panther 2 or Ironheart can dive deeper into her past, her family, her interests, and more. While Spider-Man 4 could also explore some of that, these other MCU properties might be better suited to explore various parts of Michelle, thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, just can’t catch a break. Take aside the fact that Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away over a year ago after a private battle with cancer. Letitia Wright not only brought on some controversy with her stance on the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccinations, but the actress also sustained serious injuries pausing production in late November.
While Wright has since been vaccinated, as production was getting ready to restart this week, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that production has been delayed once more, due to the omicron variant surge, which has affected multiple crew members including one of its stars. “Black Panther restarted production last week in Atlanta, only to get delayed because several cast and crew members including Lupita Nyong’o tested positive for the virus (production was set to restart this week).”
The trades in-depth report also details how Disney is going about their productions during the pandemic, even speaking with some members of those productions. Disney has seen there fair share of delays since the pandemic began nearly two years ago. As of this report, Disney still intends to have Black: Panther: Wakanda Forever set for release this November. That said, the company is keeping a close eye on things, they recently moved Pixar Animation Studios’ Turning Red, which was supposed to see Pixar’s return to theaters since Onward, to Disney+, which has brought Soul, Luca, and Encanto much success.
Ryan Coogler returns to direct the feature with the core cast from the film also returning, this includes Letitia Wright’s Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, and Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi. Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta and Michaela Coel also join the sequel, both their roles are being kept under wraps, but rumors are Huerta is playing Namor, and Coel is playing Madame Slade. Dominique Thorne will also make her debut as the character Riri Williams aka Ironheart.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever recently had its release date from July moved and is now set to hit theaters on November 11, 2022.

Black Panther 2 Reportedly Restricted the MCU's Illuminati Roster
Marvel Studios has a trio of highly-anticipated sequels adding to its theatrical MCU slate this year, starting off with the dimension-jumping shenanigans in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This comes before Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder in early July and the much-awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November.
Black Panther 2 is set to introduce a couple of brand-new characters into the mix, most notably including Tenoch Huerta's Namor the Submariner - an anti-hero which Marvel Studios just gained the rights to use in film. With him will come the entire lost city of Atlantis, which is also set to play a huge role in the upcoming sequel as the underwater nation engages in battle with Wakanda thanks to technology from Dominique Thorne's Ironheart.
Namor is also known as a classic member of the Illuminati from Marvel Comics, who officially made their debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this past weekend. Recently, the sequel's head writer even looked at what the chances were of having Namor be a part of that group as it made its long-awaited cinematic debut.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron addressed the absence of Namor the Submariner in the MCU's Illuminati during a chat with Variety.
While Namor was initially on the table for potential inclusion in the group for Doctor Strange 2, Waldron noted how "Marvel had other plans for him" in the MCU's future (which fans now know will be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), ultimately preventing his appearance in Multiverse Of Madness:
"[We] talked about him, because he’s certainly an original member of the Illuminati. But I think Marvel has other plans for him in the MCU. And so he didn’t make his way in this particular movie."
Waldron also dove into how the Illuminati came into play, explaining how both he and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige bounce ideas off each other for whom they want to be in the group. The head writer noted how Feige was "as excited about all that stuff" as anybody else, calling the process "a big, geeky team effort" to bring that team together:
"That’s kind of a combination of us putting forth, 'Well, what if we did this?' But also, Kevin’s as excited about this stuff as we are, so sometimes those ideas are coming from Kevin saying, 'Well, what if we got so and so? I’m gonna do it! I’m gonna make the call!' So he’s as excited about all that stuff as any of us. It’s a big, geeky team effort to see what we can assemble for that team."
Waldron also revealed that it was always the plan to have Wanda Maximoff kill off the Illuminati, which he described as truly "the madness of the Multiverse." He called the moment "a great way to knock the audience off their feet" as they saw something that made them feel safe before Wanda showed just how powerful and terrifying she can truly be
"Yeah, that was there in my first draft of the script. That was the madness of the Multiverse to me, really. You introduced this superhero team that makes the audience feel like they’re finally safe, and then the Scarlet Witch eviscerates them. It was a great way to knock the audience off their feet. And then hopefully, you spend the rest of the movie terrified of Wanda and what she’s capable of."
"The Illuminati Will See You Now...Except for Namor"
Marvel fans celebrated the debut of the MCU's Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2, which included names like Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter, Patrick Stewart's Professor X, and even John Krasinski as Reed Richards. Even as exciting as that moment was, some fans noticed a lack of a certain ocean-based anti-hero who's been a part of the team on numerous occasions.
Nearly every piece of comic art depicting the Illuminati includes a version of Namor, seeing as he's one of the group's founding members going back decades. But looking at how he'll get an even bigger role in Black Panther 2 than what the Illuminati had in Doctor Strange 2, his introduction should have just as big of an impact when it comes.
It will also take away the confusion of him being potentially a Multiversal Variant, which is already being discussed with Krasinski as he could potentially play Reed Richards in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four. The great part of it all is that Namor is confirmed to be on his way, and even if he's not a part of the Illuminati yet, he'll be a part of the MCU for the foreseeable future.

Si torna a parlare di Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, il cinecomic dei Marvel Studios diretto da Ryan Coogler nei cinema a fine anno.
Dopo aver visto un possibile concept decisamente sfocato, oggi si parla delle origini del personaggio, che nei fumetti è di etnia atlantidea. Sembra, infatti, che nell’Universo Cinematografico Marvel il personaggio non stia destinato ad avere le stesse origini.
A svelarlo indirettamente sono stati i cappellini ricevuti dalla troupe come regalo di fine riprese e condivisi sui social. Ritratto sulla visiera c’è quello che sembra Tepeyollotl che secondo la mitologia azteca era il dio dei terremoti e dei giaguari.
Si tratta, in effetti, di una conferma di voci che già circolavano secondo cui Namor sarebbe stato originario dell’America centrale e che Atlantide sarebbe stata ritratta come una città sommersa in Messico o America centrale (questo senza considerare che lo stesso attore scelto per Namor, Tenoch Huerta, è messicano).

[...] Seecondo quanto riportato oggi da Vice, Tenoch Huerta dovrebbe probabilmente vestire i panni dell’eroe Marvel nel film, come già riportato in precedenza, e, a riprova di ciò, la testata indica che l’attore è stato recentemente impegnato a studiare il linguaggio Maya “per un ruolo che ha girato ad Atlanta” – luogo dove si sono tenute anche le riprese proprio del secondo film di Black Panther.
Sebbene manchi ancora un annuncio ufficiale da parte dei Marvel Studios – che magari arriverà in occasione di uno dei trailer della pellicola – sembra quindi sempre più sicuro che l’attore Tenoch Huerta darà vita a Namor.

Esattamente come si vociferava, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ci sarà un cambiamento rispetto ai fumetti in relazione a Namor, re di Atlantide. Pescando direttamente dalla storia azteca, il personaggio interpretato da Tenoch Huera sarà re di Talocan.
Nella descrizione ufficiale del personaggio diffusa dai Marvel Studios, Namor viene definito sovrano di Talocan, un’antica civiltà nascosta nelle profondità dell’oceano. Il personaggio, inoltre, “non si fermerà davanti a nulla per proteggere il suo popolo“.
Per restare in tema, i fan hanno notato nel trailer che la pelle della popolazione di Talocan si tinge di blu solamente in superficie. Il fatto che non succeda con Namor è dovuto al fatto che il personaggio nei fumetti abbia origini per metà umane.

Il merchandise di Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rivela un importante cambiamento nelle origini di Namor il Sub-Mariner.
Il 9 novembre uscirà al cinema Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, il sequel del film vincitore di 3 premi Oscar nel 2018 che dovrà affrontare l’improvvisa morte del protagonista Chadwick Boseman e portare avanti la storia di Shuri (Letitia Wright), ora alla guida del Regno di Wakanda.
Il merchandise del film ha svelato un dettaglio interessante sulla versione MCU di Namor. Nella descrizione delle action figures targate Marvel Legends, infatti, possiamo vedere che il personaggio non sarà il Re di Atlantide (come nei fumetti), ma sarà invece a capo di una civiltà sottomarina nascosta chiamata Talocan.
Nonostante questo cambiamento possa sembrare strano, se indaghiamo più a fondo in realtà possiamo notare come in realtà abbia perfettamente senso. Molto probabilmente i Marvel Studios vogliono differenziarsi dall’Atlantide nostrana nel film della DC, ovvero Aquaman, e per farlo si stanno ispirando alla vera mitologia.
Infatti, la versione MCU di Namor e il suo popolo sembrerebbero essere collegati alle culture Azteche e Maya, e il nome Talocan ne è la prova. Nella leggenda Azteca, Tlālōcān è un regno mitologico e un paradiso governato dal dio della pioggia Tlālōc. Sembra che i Marvel Studios abbiano designato questo paradiso dell’acqua come la loro versione di Atlantide, con Namor e la sua stirpe reale che potrebbero ricoprire il ruolo di Tlālōc. È interessante notare però che nei fumetti esiste già una versione di Talocan, che è la casa del pantheon degli dei Tēteoh.
Con gli ultimi progetti come Moon Knight e Thor: Love and Thunder che sono fortemente basati sulle divinità, è possibile che i Marvel Studios abbiano reso Namor e la sua società dei veri e propri Dèi, o forse volevano semplicemente usare il nome di Talocan.

According to MMA Fighting, UFC welterweight champion has joined the highly-anticipated sequel in an unknown role. UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier first mentioned Usman’s role during the UFC 277 weigh-in show. Additional sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Friday.
Kamaru Usman is a Nigerian-American professional mixed martial artist, former freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler. He currently competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current UFC Welterweight Champion. Usman was also The Ultimate Fighter 21 tournament winner. As of September 27, 2021, he is #1 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings.
In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.
The film is set to hit theaters on November 11, 2022.

With Black Panther, director Ryan Coogler broadened out the scope of the MCU significantly. The arrival of Wakanda in all its glory felt like a whole new world had opened up – a place that had audiences clamouring to return to (which, luckily, they soon did in Avengers: Infinity War). And while long-awaited sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will in part take audiences even deeper into the technologically-advanced African nation, Coogler’s upcoming film will also introduce viewers once again to a whole new world: Namor, Marvel’s infamous Sub-Mariner, is coming – and he’s taking us beneath the waves.
A mainstay of Marvel Comics since the late ‘30s, Namor – also the leader of an advanced civilisation – has often clashed with Black Panther on the page, making him a prime candidate to strike up some drama in Wakanda Forever. “The contrast between T’Challa and Namor – their characters, and their nations – just leaps off the page,” says Coogler of the comic book runs. “He’s a dream antagonist.”
Namor will be played here by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, previously seen in The Forever Purge and Tigers Are Not Afraid – with this incarnation of the character inspired by the culture and history of Mesoamerica. “You can take Atlantis from Greek myth, or you can adapt from a real culture,” argues Huerta. Rather than the ruler of Atlantis, on the screen he’s the ruler of Talocan – and he’s drawn to the surface by the ramifications of T’Challa’s decision in Black Panther’s final reel to reveal the truth of Wakanda to the world. “That decision puts Talocan in jeopardy,” Huerta explains. “And Talocan has to take action to protect themselves.” One detail that is carrying over from the comics? According to Huerta, his Namor is indeed a mutant.
For comics fans, it’s a chance to finally see one of the longest-running Marvel characters finally take to the big screen – though there were initial plans for Namor to be teased a few years ago. “Ryan had a pitch for a tag at the end of Black Panther,” Marvel boss Kevin Feige reveals. “The camera would push through the palace in Wakanda, and then we’d see wet footprints leading up to the throne.” Get ready for the ultimate clash of kingdoms.

Assolutamente, sempre amata. Ma ahimè semplice coprotagonista. Anche la madre interpretata da Angela Bassett e le altre guerriere sono splendide. Mi riferivo ai protagonisti, rimpiango Boseman, anche perché sostituito da un'attrice che a me non piace. Speravo in un ritorno di Michael B.Jordan.

(ANSA) - NEW YORK, 26 OTT - Dopo sei anni dall'ultimo album Rihanna torna sulla scena musicale.
Per la cantante e imprenditrice barbadiana sarà un ritorno all'insegna del sensazionale perché entra nell'universo di 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', il film sequel di Black Panther la cui uscita nelle sale è prevista in Italia il 9 novembre, l'11 negli Stati Uniti.
E' stata la stessa Marvel ad annunciare la presenza di Rihanna con un tweet teaser di pochi secondi. Si vede solo il titolo 'Wakanda Forever', che man mano svanisce e rimane solo la lettera R (Rihanna), poi la data del 28 ottobre. Già da qualche settimana girava l'indiscrezione che Rihanna avesse inciso due tracce per il prossimo film dell'universo Marvel: il post su twitter ha dato ora la conferma ufficiale. L'ultimo album della cantante 'Anti' è uscito il 28 gennaio del 2016. (ANSA).

[...]Durante un’intervista concessa a Marvel.com sul red carpet di Murphy’s Multiverse, il presidente dei Marvel Studios Kevin Feige ha parlato dell’introduzione di Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, svelando che lo studio sperava di adattare il personaggio sul grande schermo da quasi vent’anni prima ancora della nascita del Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Durante un’intervista con Comicbook.com, il produttore Nate Moore, ha spiegato la natura di Namor (che, proprio come nei fumetti, è un mutante anche nell’MCU):
Non vogliamo correre troppo, né promettere qualcosa e poi deludere i fan. Ma Namor è un mutante in questo film, e lo abbiamo reso tale per rispettare i fumetti. È uno dei primissimi personaggi Marvel, e andava trattato con il rispetto dovuto. Da fan della sua storia editoriale, sarebbe stato sbagliato cambiare la sua natura. Ovviamente si tratta dell’inizio, dei primi passi dei mutanti nell’MCU… Stiamo lasciando piccoli indizi, sparsi qui e lì, che riguardano coloro che possiedono il gene-X. Un giorno, tutto questo arriverà a compimento.

Nei miei video sui social non parlo mai ma questa volta ho voluto contribuire con la mia voce, anche se si tratta di pochissime battute. Sono molto legato al personaggio di Black Panther e ho voluto dare il mio personale omaggio a Chadwick Boseman, alla sua straordinaria interpretazione e a quello che rappresenta per la nostra generazione. Abbiamo scelto la pronuncia spagnola del nome, e l’abbiamo collegata ad una frase ben specifica. “El niño que creció sin amor”, il bambino che è cresciuto senza amore. E da “sin amor” è diventato Namòr.

Visto ieri sera. Che bella cosa essersi ripresi con un pò di serietà verso il fumetto, dopo la demenzialità di Thor: Love & Thunder. Con questo non significa che in questo film ci sia solo dramma, anzi; ci sono anche momenti più leggeri, ma arguti. Laetitia Wright funziona molto ma molto meglio sullo schermo. Mi è piaciuta molto. Semplicemente non mi piace in fotografia e fuori dal set e dal personaggio. Tutti promossi gli attori. L'unica scena post credits risolverà buona parte della delusione rispetto al lascito di T'Challa e alla sua eredità. Grandi Angela Bassett e Okoje (non ricordo il nome dell'attrice). Funziona bene anche Namor e la sua rappresentazione in chiaroscuro. Un altro bell'antieroe del MCU, dopo Bucky Barnes. Sicuramente Riri Williams ruba la scena, non immaginavo un personaggio così forte. Promosso e consigliato, sinceramente non trovo difetti, forse un pò troppa introspezione in qualche momento e un certo dramma potrebbe annoiare i giovanissimi non abituati ai dialoghi e alla riflessione, anche se della morte di un personaggio importante ne avrei fatto a meno. E comunque l'azione c'è e bella tosta pure. In fatto di morti, in effetti, questo film e il franchise in generale di Black Panther è un pò too much.

Col Multiverso è facilissimo e auspicabile personalmente.
Black Panther: Winston Duke crede che T’Challa sia destinato a tornare sul grande schermo con un altro volto.
