Star Wars: lo spin-off su Obi-Wan è in lavorazione

E' tutto vero: uno spin-off di Star Wars incentrato su Obi-Wan è in lavorazione.

Han Solo, Obi Wan, Yoda, Jabba the Hutt e chissà quanti altri ne sono stati e saranno annunciati.

A Star Wars Story

L’annuncio dello show TV

Original Details For Obi-Wan Disney+ Series Revealed

A few months back reports surfaced that the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series was being put on hold to re-tool the script. Now, thanks to a new report, we now know what some of the script entailed.

According to the Illuminerdi, the series was going to take us back to Obi-Wan on the iconic desert planet of Tatooine, where the legendary Jedi would care for a young Luke Skywalker. Check out the logline provided by the site below.

Tatooine, a desert planet where farmers work hard under the heat of two suns. Meanwhile, they try to defend themselves and their loved ones from the marauders Tusken. A planet behind the edge of civilization. And a place where it would be unlikely to find a Jedi master, or an orphan child on whom the future of the entire galaxy weighs on its small shoulders.

Despite rumors of the series cancellation back in January, pre-production on the project is moving forward. The studio recent tapped producer Joby Harold (Edge of Tomorrow, King Arthur) to take over writing duties from Hossein Amini (Drive) who departed the series in January.

Early report on the series detailed that it would take place eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. It is unknown if this is still the case with Harolds involvement, it is also unknown if the series will remain on Tatooine and feature a young Luke Skywalker (rumors also surfaced that Lukes sister Leia would also make an appearance).

Ewan McGregor will return as the famous Jedi master, with Deborah Chow hot off her directing duties on The Mandalorian, will helm the series. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will produce along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

The Obi-Wan series is expected to begin production in early 2021 and per a press release the series could debut on Disney+ in 2022.

Hayden Christensen Rumored To Reprise As Anakin In Obi-Wan Disney Plus Series

According to LMR, Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker in the untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. No word on how big of a role he would have but it’s likely he will appear in flashbacks or visions.

The series has undergone some production hurdles, as far as a whole rewrite of the show. It was supposed to start filming this year; however, due to the setbacks, it’s looking at a January 2021 start date.

Last month, Variety reported Producer Joby Harold (John Wick: Chapter 3) was brought on to rewrite the series.

Earlier reports revealed that Kenobi would take place eight years after Revenge of the Sith. Former writer, Hossein Amini‘s version of the script reportedly featured appearances from a young Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, again, the new script could change all that. There has been speculation that the series could overlap with Solo: A Star Wars Story and possibly bringing back Darth Maul.

Deborah Chow, who received praise for her directing duties on The Mandalorian, is set to direct Kenobi. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will produce along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series to Reportedly Start Production in March

As Disney and Lucasfilm are continuing to expand the world of Star Wars, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series led by Ewan McGregor being developed for Disney+ is one step closer to getting done.

According to the Illuminerdi, the series is looking to start production sometime in March 2021 in Los Angeles, California. Sadly, it is hard to tell if the project will actually hit that production start with everything going on in the world. However, March gives them over six months to prep and continue the casting process which is currently underway.

Earlier this year, producer Joby Harold (John Wick Chapter 3) was brought on to rewrite the script. Deborah Chow, who received praise for her directing duties on The Mandalorian, is set to direct all episodes of Kenobi. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will produce along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

Not much is known on the series at this time; however, earlier reports revealed that Kenobi would take place eight years after Revenge of the Sith. Former writer, Hossein Amini‘s version of the script reportedly featured appearances from a young Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, again, the new script could change all that. There has been speculation that the series could overlap with Solo: A Star Wars Story and possibly bringing back Darth Maul.

There are also reports making the rounds that Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in the series. It is unclear how big of a role the character would have, but the role would apparently feature flashbacks to their time during The Clone Wars.

Disney+ has multiple Star Wars projects in various stages of production including the Cassian Andor/Rogue One prequel series, an untitled female-led series being developed by Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland, The Bad Batch animated series, also being reported but not confirmed by Lucasfilm at this time is a live-action Ahsoka Tano series, starring Rosario Dawson (makes her debut in season two of The Mandalorian), a live-action Boba Fett series, and a live-action Ezra Bridger/Grand Admiral Thrawn series.

Season one of The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+ now. Season two will debut this October. The studio is already in development on a third a season, which is aiming for a 2021 release.

Comic Book Movie

ALADDIN Star Naomi Scott Said To Be In Contention For Female Lead Role In OBI-WAN KENOBI

The Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series is now in the process of casting its supporting roles, and Naomi Scott (Aladdin, Charlie's Angels) is one of three
The still untitled Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series is reportedly scheduled to start shooting early next year, and it sounds like Lucasfilm is now setting about casting the supporting roles as pre-production ramps up.

According to The Illuminerdi, actors are currently being sought to play the following characters.

Riley (aka Eve) Female (20-25) CO-LEAD – A female BIPOC whose character details are being kept under wraps

Tia Female (30s) SUPPORTING – BIPOC

Harold (Late 20s-30s) SUPPORTING – A quirky, comedic male

Bella Female (40s) SUPPORTING – Latinx

These are most likely codenames to disguise the real identifies, so it's obviously difficult to tell if any of these guys are established Star Wars characters. However, we do have an idea of who might be in contention to play "Riley."

Apparently, Thuso Mbedu, Anula Navlekar, and Naomi Scott have all received call-backs for the co-lead role. Scott is the best-known of the three having starred in Aladdin, Power Rangers and the recent Charlie's Angels reboot; Mbedu was nominated for an International Emmy Award for her role in Is’thunzi; while Navlekar is still a relative unknown and hasn't appeared in any high-profile projects.

Plot details for Obi-Wan Kenobi remain under wraps, but it is expected to focus on the legendary Jedi during his self-imposed exile on Tatooine. There are rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Are you guys looking forward to seeing Ewan McGregor return as Obi-Wan Kenobi? What do you make of these character details? Be sure to share your thoughts down below.

Rupert Friend Reportedly Playing The Grand Inquisitor in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

We are just a few months away from the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series set for Disney+. While Lucasfilm/Disney+ has kept details guarded, prior reports revealed Obi-Wan will not only have to deal with Darth Vader but inquisitors as well. Thanks to a new report, we know which actor is playing one of these roles.

According to Bespin Bulletin, a Star Wars site with a good track record, Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47) will be playing the Star Wars: Rebels character the Grand Inquisitor. The site also goes on to say that along with Friend, Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) and Sung Kang (F9) are also playing inquisitors.

For those unfamiliar, Grand Inquisitor, also known as Master of the Inquisitorius, was a title used by the highest-ranking Inquisitor of the Galactic Empire. The Pau’an male and former Jedi Temple Guard known only as the Grand Inquisitor, and sometimes the Inquisitor, held this title, and was ranked above other Inquisitors such as the Fifth Brother, Sixth Brother, Seventh Sister, Eighth Brother, and the Ninth Sister. As Grand Inquisitor, he reported to Darth Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, and hunted Jedi who had survived the Great Jedi Purge.

The Inquisitor who held the rank of Grand Inquisitor was a villain created for the animated television series Star Wars Rebels, and he made his on-screen debut in the 2014 television film Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. He is voiced by well-known English actor Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter franchise). The Grand Inquisitor appeared in a number of episodes until his death in the season one finale, “Fire Across the Galaxy,” but the rank of Grand Inquisitor was never referenced in the first season. His rank was first revealed by series executive producer Dave Filoni in a preview of the second season on the Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season One home media release.[...]

Attenzione: l'articolo contiene spoiler
