Disney's next Pixar pic is November 27, 2013. It's an original project, not a sequel -- and it doesn't have a title yet. And that's all Disney is saying. Now who knows more info? Meanwhile, Pixar's Cars 2 opens Friday.
Mas nell'articolo non parla dei classici?! Interessante nessun sequel, molto meglio!!
Alcuni commentano:
Its a movie about dinosaur and will be directed by Pete Docter!!
While confirming the scheduling news, Pixar politely declined to comment further to me.
But my money's on this being the dinosaur project, with Pete Docter directing.
(Curiously, Pixar held a dinosaur-themed evening for employees in late April, which included a screening of Jurassic Park.)
It also wouldn't be surprising to see the release date later pushed to Summer 2014.
I Dinosauri ancora?
A me ispira meno di 0.

The Pixar Plan...
Calling Docter Pete, calling Docter Pete...
The Lamp has scheduled it's next animated film...
And for all those out there that are screaming about too many sequels, it's an original story. As per their Modus Operandi, the gang up in Emeryville have been very cryptic. No plot details and no information on who is directing or writing it, only the release date: November 27, 2013.
From what I've heard, it's likely the next animated feature from Pete Docter since he's not helming the sequel/prequel to his "Monsters Inc." film. It probably won't be too long before we'll be hearing about the next release of the Mouse's other animation house in Burbank. The one that's coming in 2014.
It'll be interesting to see when that happens...
che bella notizia !!!!!
Cosa dice??
D23 Expo: Disney•Pixar Announces Two New Films
Disney•Pixar announced two new films at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California today.
The first one, to be directed by Bob Peterson and produced by John Walker, will be about dinosaurs. The movie, which does not have a title yet, asks the question - "what if that life-changing asteroid missed Earth? The hilarious tale depicts a world where dinosaurs never went extinct." The movie is scheduled for November 27, 2013.
The second project, directed by Pete Docter and produced by Jonas Rivera, is described as follows: "From director Pete Docter comes an inventive new film that explores a world that everyone knows, but no one has seen: inside the human mind." It's coming May 30, 2014.
The next two Pixar films are Brave (June 22, 2012) and Monsters University (June 21, 2013), which will again feature the voices of John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Steve Buscemi, as well Dave Foley.
Amo i dinosauri .... voglio proprio vedere come li disegneranno!!
Vedremo
Da AintItcool:
The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs will be released Holiday 2013 and explore what would have happened had dinosaurs not been wiped out, if that asteroid had missed our planet.
UPDATE: For clarification, I believe they said it was what a modern day society would be like had that event not happened... I assume not caveman times, but today today, so no Flintstones comparisons (hopefully).
They showed one concept painting to go along with this, it was a brontosaurus standing in a field against a sunset. The color was golden, no detail on the dino could really be made out, but part of the silhouette betrayed what looked like a little girl sitting on the dinosaur’s head, just before the neck dips down.
Peterson said he has been fascinated with dinosaurs since the NY World’s Fair when he saw the Imagineering dinosaurs, so he found it particularly interesting that here he is decades later developing a dinosaur movie for Disney.
molto interessanti queste foto
speriamo di avere presto immagini nuove
Secondo me sarà molto originale
Tuttavia anche a me è venuto in mente DragonTrainer, staremo a vedere....
Secondo me prima o poi rispunterano fuori, purtroppo...
Complimenti!
You can’t tell me what you’re working on right now, can you?
No, I can, actually. I can. I’ve been the head of story for quite a few months on Pixar’s Untitled Dinosaur Movie, which is directed by Bob Peterson and co-directed by Pete Sohn. I’ve been working on it for a few months and it’s been a lot of fun. They’re a laugh riot. So we’re having a good time.
It’s been bad to kinda help someone else tell his story, but being the head of story is a new experience for me, so it’s been fun. And they have a wonderful, wonderful premise for all this. So it’s been a lot of fun.
Frozen (2013) The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs Buena Vista 11/27/13
What??!!! Yuppiiii!
E avevo ragione...
Disney Animation Schedules Frozen For November 2013
Source: Walt Disney Studios December 22, 2011
As 2011 winds down, Walt Disney Pictures is looking towards the future and two of its major releases in both 2013 and 2014. First up is a new project from Disney Animation called Frozen, taking over the release date of Pixar's Untitled Dinosaur Film. That film is currently without an announced release date.
Details of Frozen are currently unknown, but it will hit theaters in 3D on November 27, 2013.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is bumping up one of their untitled 2014 films, moving the project from June 27th to April 4th. They'll still have another project arriving on May 16th and speculation suggests that one of these two will likely be a sequel to this year's Captain America: The First Avenger.
UPDATE: Earlier today, we incorrectly reported that Frozen was the title of the Pixar's Untitled Dinosaur Film. It is, in fact, a brand new project and the story has since been corrected.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=85436
The Good Dinosaur
Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' Will Warm Up a Prehistoric Reputation
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2012/05/pixars-the-good-dinosaur-.html
So often typecast as witless and cold-blooded, dinosaurs are about to get an image rehab in Hollywood, courtesy of Pixar.
"It's time to do a movie where you get to know the dinosaur, what it's really like to be a dinosaur and to be with a dinosaur," said Bob Peterson, director of the animation studio's upcoming movie "The Good Dinosaur."
Peterson, who served as codirector and writer on "Up," said the inspiration for the movie came from a childhood visit to the World's Fair where he was awed by some dinosaur animatronics.
In "The Good Dinosaur," which will be codirected by Peter Sohn and produced by John Walker, an asteroid never hit the Earth and dinosaurs still roam.
In an interview at the studio's Emeryville offices recently, Peterson, Sohn and Walker -- who are in the midst of Pixar's secretive story-crafting phase -- kept key plot details such as geologic era and starring dino species under wraps, but hinted at some themes they'll be exploring.
Sohn said they are toying with the idea of what dinosaurs represent today -- something anachronistic or resistant to change. If there's a "good" dinosaur, after all, there have to be bad ones. "The title is deceptively simple," Sohn said. "It has more meaning than it seems."
A piece of concept art shared at Disney's D23 conference last August showed what appeared to be a silhouette of a small child with a dinosaur, suggesting that dinosaurs and people will be sharing the planet in the movie, but the filmmakers didn't confirm that.
Peterson said the crew had steeped itself in research for the film, visiting various natural history and science museums and examining fossils and bones to help them create their own dinosaur society and characters.
The director said he has been writing "The Good Dinosaur" vagabond-style, toting his laptop in his car and stopping at various spots in Northern California as inspiration strikes.
"So if there's a bunch of dinosaurs in a Whole Foods parking lot in this movie, you'll understand why," said Walker.
Quindi la scaletta dei film Pixar sarebbe:
2013 --> Monsters University
2014 --> The Good Dinosaur
2015 --> il film sul Dia de los Muertos
giusto? Dimentico qualcosa?

The D23 Expo is essentially a dream convention for fans of Disney and Pixar. All of the various properties come together under one roof for a weekend-long celebration of Disney/Pixar films, theme park attractions, television, and, of course, merchandise. Many times when major announcements are made outside of a convention, they are shared with the press who then relay the news to fans. The Expo, like similar events such as Comic Con, allows fans to see the news and sights with their own eyes. New films will be detailed, clips will be shown, and exclusive merchandise will be available. Due to the sheer size of the show, it can also be overwhelming, which is where this guide to Pixar at the D23 Expo may help.
Whether you are descending upon the Anaheim Convention Center or following along at home, the details below will at least help you understand when and where you can expect to find Pixar-related happenings and products. With the major Animation Studios panel taking place first thing Friday morning, most will want to head there to hear any news on upcoming Pixar projects such as The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out. We could very well see a teaser for the dinosaur film, so it is the must-see panel of the weekend. Let us start there and widen the scope out to the rest of the schedule, with the exclusive merchandise detailed afterwards.

The Good Dinosaur
A me invece entusiasma questo progetto originale
Ci sarebbe da trascrivere il panel dedicato completamente a Good Dinosaur (The Art Of Good Dinosaur)...lo farò io stasera magari!
Not Extinct, But Evolving...
The animation business can be a very chaotic experience...
The Lamp has had many films in production that would either shut down (Newt) because os similarity to another project (Rio), or drastically changed (Ratatouille) to make the release date. Word from my Bothans is that there is another having such difficulties. It's not a good thing, but it is a normal, yet chaotic process. Which film?
The Good Dinosaur.
The producer and director of the film had been removed, but the film is not as of yet in turnaround. John Lasseter has reportedly taken Bob Peterson off the film, and is attempting to still meet the 2014 release date.
This will not be an easy task, but they're hopeful that a new director will be able to bring the project back in to better focus as the story wasn't coming together. The meteor that killed the dinosaurs hasn't yet destroyed this film, but it has put it in jeopardy.
Developing...
Un utente su dvdizzy ha fatto notare che Bob Peterson removed "Been at Pixar since 1995" from his Twitter bio.
E' ufficiale http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-pixar-director-20130831,0,3649321.story
E' un vero peccato
Da http://www.badtaste.it/articoli/confermato-bob-peterson-ha-lasciato-good-dinosaur
Confermato: Bob Peterson ha lasciato The Good Dinosaur
From what I hear, there will likely be decisions soon as to who will take over the film's production. Likely in the next two or so weeks. it is unknown as to who Lasseter will choose for certain, but odds are that Peter Sohn may get the go or possibly Mark Andrews. Now, this isn't final, it's not written in stone. It's just the vibe the Bothans are getting from other Pixar employees as to who they are betting on in their Fantasy Film Maker Pool. It all depends on who John and Ed get a feel has the right handle on the scenes they 're working on. So think of what is going in now as a test for the future director of the film.
Source: http://www.blueskydisney.com/2013/08/tr ... brain.html
Come questa persona è all'altezza?
A me comunque viene l'ansia...

Toon Tuesday -- Why you shouldn't believe all of the bad news that you've been hearing about Pixar's "Good Dinosaur"
[... ] it would appear that this venerated animation studio has now replaced that oversized Luxo Jr. lamp & ball which they've got out in front of the Steve Jobs Building with a steel cage. In which all Pixar directors are now regularly forced to do battle in order to protect their creative vision.
Yeah. Right.
Look, I know. This is an age where (thanks to the Internet) we all love to snark about things we honestly know nothing about. But here's the hard reality: Making a full-length animated feature is tough work. It can sometimes take 5 - 6 years to make one of these things. Hell, it took Walt Disney Animation Studios almost a decade to get a handle on how to turn the story of Rapunzel into "Tangled ." And sometimes -- even when you've got some of the top talents in the business working on your movie, and these people are putting in all sorts of hours, pouring their very hearts & souls into a project -- it still doesn't jell.
And "The Good Dinosaur" ... Well, while this still-in-production Pixar film has always had a very intriguing log line (i.e. 65 million years ago, a meteor hit the Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs. But what if that asteroid missed? What would the dinosaurs evolved to millions of years later?), it's also faced some pretty daunting story challenges. With the biggest one being that when your movie is built around two characters -- Arlo, a 70 foot-tall adolescent Apatosaurus and Spot, a 3 foot-tall human child -- how do you then find believable, emotional ways for these very differently-sized beings to connect? Not only with each other but also with the members of your audience?
"Composition, finding ways to bring our two lead characters together in the exact same shots has admittedly been a challenge," said Denise Ream, the producer of "The Good Dinosaur," when we chatted backstage last month at the D23 EXPO. "But we've got a really great crew back at Pixar working on this film. And they've found some fun ways to deal with this issue."
And then there's the issue of what dinosaurs have actually evolved into over the past 65 million years. Not ninjas or space travelers, mind you. But -- rather -- farmers.
Denise Ream and Peter Sohn backstage at last month's D23 EXPO. Photo by Jim Hill
"These dinosaurs are agrarian," explained Peter Sohn, co-director of "The Good Dinosaur." "They're intelligent but staid & stoic. Kind of set in their ways."
Those who saw the concept art and test footage that was shown at last month's "Art and Imagination: Animation at the Walt Disney Studio" presentation at the D23 EXPO reported back that Pixar has found some pretty fun ways to bring this dinosaurs-as-farmers concept to life visually. By -- in essence -- turning each species of dinosaurs into a different piece of farming equipment. With the triceratops becoming bulldozer-like earth movers and stegosauruses using their spiky tails to first mow down and then harvest the crops.
And as for the apatosaurs ... Well, after the farmland has been properly prepared, Arlo and his family then till this soil by putting their faces down in the dirt and then -- by stretching their necks out -- create all of these perfectly straight rows.
So given the character scale issue and the tranquil setting for the very start of "The Good Dinosaur" 's story, even as an outsider, it's kind of easy to see how a film like this might have been tough for even a Pixar vet like Bob Peterson (who -- let's remember -- has been with this animation studio since the original "Toy Story ." More importantly, has already had some helming experience thanks to his co-directing gig on "Up ") to get his arms around this project. But at the same time, you can also understand why Pixar would have put this particular film into production (As John Lasseter enthused from the stage of the Anaheim Arena during the "Animation at the Walt Disney Studios" presentation : "This is spectacular! Pixar is doing dinosaurs!") while there were still some pretty obvious story issues that had yet to be resolved.
But in the end, I gotta say ... I just feel bad for Bob, Peter & Denise. Especially Bob. Since "The Good Dinosaur" reportedly drew its inspiration from a trip that young Mr. Peterson made to the 1964 - 1965 New York World's Fair. Where the massive prehistoric beasts that were on display in Sinclair's walk-through Dinoland exhibit at the Fair as well as the Disney-built Audio Animatronic dinosaurs that were featured in Ford's "Magic Skyway" attraction supposedly fired Bob's imagination as a boy and eventually inspired him to come up with the storyline for this particular Pixar production.
Now some will tell you that removing Bob Peterson as the director of "The Good Dinosaur" is a pretty big red flag. Especially coming on the heels of John Lasseter replacing Brad Lewis as the director of "Cars 2 " and Mark Andrews replacing Brenda Chapman as the director of "Brave ." There are those within the animation community who would tell you that the powers-that-be up in Emeryville have become a little too obsessed with preserving Pixar's winning streak. Which -- what with "Monsters University" having just earned $715 million at the worldwide box office -- now stands at 14 hit films in a row.
But me? All I know is that -- over the past 30 years -- I must have interviewed hundreds of people who've been directly involved in the production of various Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, Laika, Illumination Entertainment and Sony Pictures Animation films. And what I've heard over & over from all of these animation vets is an endless series of war stories. How their films repeatedly crashed & burned. How they were then forced to throw out hundreds of feet of finished animation footage because their movie suddenly change direction or directors.
So long story short: This sort of thing happens in the animation industry all the time. So why does the entertainment press make such a big deal about Pixar changing directors on one of its movies when an animated feature like "Hotel Transylvania " can burn through five different sets of directors before Genndy Tartakovsky finally came along and then turned that troubled Sony Pictures Animation production into a smash hit and no one says Boo? And the answer is ... Because Pixar has had 14 hit films in a row. And the entertainment press has been dying to write the "Pixar-finally-produces-a-flop" story for over a decade now.
Well, I'll say this much: Pixar isn't making it all that easy to turn "The Good Dinosaur" 's production problems into a continuing controversy. What with Ed Catmull -- the president of Walt Disney & Pixar Animation Studios -- addressed the Bob Peterson issue last week by releasing a statement that said:
"All directors get really deep in their films. Sometimes you just need a different perspective to get the idea out. Sometimes directors ... are so deeply embedded in their ideas it actually takes someone else to finish it up. I would go so far as to argue that a lot of live-action films would be better off with that same process."
And as to whether Peterson would now possibly exit Pixar, Jim Morris -- general manager and executive vice president of production for that animation studio -- was quick to put the kibosh on that rumor. According to Jim,
"Bob is still working at the studio, and we hope he will stay here for the rest of his natural life."
Even Peterson himself got in on the act over this past weekend. Using his personal Twitter account to admit that the past few months had ...
"Been a tough time, but I am good - thankful for family and hilarious friends. On to future projects. Long live TGD. It's gonna be great."
And being the consummate gag man that he is, Bob even managed to mine some humor out of this obviously awkward situation. Using Friday's surprise announcement that the director of "Paperman," this year's Academy Award-winning animated short, was departing Disney for another yet-unnamed animation studio as an excuse to tweet ...
"And what's with John Kahrs stealing my thunder?!"
So I guess that all us animation obsessives are now going to have to find something new to snark / gossip about. Like where exactly is John Kahrs now headed? And does this now mean that Walt Disney Animation Studios is going to abandon that terrific 2D / CG hybrid process that was used during the production of "Paperman" ?
RIMANDATO DI UN ANNO E MEZZO!
Da http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=109129
Pixar's The Good Dinosaur has been moved back a year and a half from May 30, 2014 to November 25, 2015. This means that 2014 will be the first year without a Pixar film since 2005.
Secondo me rifaranno tutto il film strano spostarlo, no prima, ma dopo Inside Out.

What sort of ripple effect will Disney's decision to push back "The Good Dinosaur" 's release date have?

Do your remember that scene from the original "Jurassic Park " where -- as that off-screen T-Rex stomped around the paddock which he was about to escape from -- his footfalls were so heavy that they actually cause ripples in those water glasses which Tim & Lexy are drinking from?

Well, Disney's decision to push back the release date of "The Good Dinosaur" from May 30, 2014 to November 25, 2015 is bound to cause some ripples too. But not in the ways that you might think.
Obviously, this is going to cause some upheaval on the Consumer Products side of things at The Walt Disney Company. If only because Mouse House reps have been meeting with & then signing contracts with licensees to produce "Good Dinosaur" products for the better part of two years now. All so -- once the Spring of next year arrives -- retailers around the world would then have been able to sell t-shirts, action figures & plush toys that looked just like Arlo, Spot, Cliff, Ivy and Forest do in this movie. And now because the release date of this particular Pixar production has been pushed back by 18 months ... Well, that then means there are suddenly a whole lot of people who create products for WalMart, Target et all who have to scramble around and make other plans.
And trust me, folks. The people who work for Disney Consumer Products are not happy that "The Good Dinosaur" has been pushed back from May of 2014 to November of 2015. If only because this now means that "The Good Dinosaur" will be following "Jurassic World" (which is supposed to be released on June 12, 2015) into theaters.
Copyright NBCUniversal. All rights reserved
"And what's so bad about that?," you ask. Well, in the brick-and-mortal retail world, there are only some many endcaps, so much shelf space to go around. And if WalMart &Target already have a ton of "Jurassic World" material that they're still trying to sell off / get rid of by the late Summer / early Fall of 2015 ... Well, that then might mean that they'll be a bit conservative when it comes to ordering "Good Dinosaur" toys. Which -- again -- could have a significant ripple effect / negative impact on DCP's overall earnings for late 2015 / early 2016. Not to mention the hole that pushing the release of this Pixar production back 18 months is going to put in Consumer Product's financial projections for the end of fiscal 2014.
And then -- provided that the current average wait time between a film's theatrical-release and then the DVD & Blu-ray release of this same film holds -- "Jurassic World" should be hitting store shelves during the first week of October 2015. Which is just seven weeks or so before "The Good Dinosaur" opens in theaters.
Now let me make a prediction here (which -- I know -- on the face of it will initially sound very dumb. But this is how the media works these days): In the weeks out ahead of "The Good Dinosaur" being released to theaters, you're going to see a number of stories in the entertainment press about whether moviegoers will actually buy tickets for a second dinosaur film less than six months after "Jurassic World" opened in theaters.

And let me make a second prediction here. In those articles which ask "Will 'Jurassic World' 's success at the box office undercut ticket sales for 'The Good Dinosaur' ?," you're going to see lot of these same authors pointing to how "Olympus Has Fallen" supposedly undercut "White House Down" 's ticket sales this past summer.
Anyway ... Enough with the bad news: Let's talk about the movies that will most likely benefit from Disney's decision to push back the release date of "The Good Dinosaur." These include the two animated features that will now be opening ahead of the release date that this Pixar production just vacated -- "Rio 2" (which opens in theaters on April 11th) and "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return"(which opens in theaters on May 9th) -- as well as the DreamWorks Animation film that was originally supposed to bow two weeks after "The Good Dinosaur," "How to Train Your Dragon 2" (which opens in theaters on June 13th).
Oddly enough, another movie will probably benefit from this Pixar production's postponement is "Planes: Fire and Rescue." The sequel to Disney "Planes" (which -- to date -- has earned $83.3 million domestically and an additional $55.8 million overseas) is slated to be released to theaters on July 18, 2014. And given that the Marketing department at Walt Disney Studios will no longer have a Pixar production to hype in the late Spring / early Summer of 2014, you can expect that "Planes: Fire and Rescue" will now get a full court press. So it will be interesting -- what with all of the additional marketing that the Mouse can now be expected to do for this DisneyToon Studios production -- to see how "Fire and Rescue" 's grosses compare with the original "Planes" box office totals this time next year.
Copyright Disney Enterprises, Inc. All rights reserved
Also, it's worth noting here that pushing back "The Good Dinosaur" by a year may actually wind up being a good thing. Not only because it will then give the folks up in Emeryville the time that they need to fix this film's story. But also because (to borrow that old cliché) absence sometimes does actually make the heart grow fonder.
To explain: There are those who study Hollywood history who suggest that one of the main reasons that "The Lion King " racked up such huge numbers at the box office during the Summer of 1994 (i.e., $312.8 million domestic ) was because it had been over 18 months at that point since the last Walt Disney Animations Studios production, "Aladdin ," had been released to theaters (And just in case you were wondering: That Ron Clements / John Musker movie was released to theaters back in November of 1992. And "Aladdin" earned $217.3 million domestically, $286.7 million overseas for a combined worldwide box office total of $504 million).
At the very least, it doesn't look like an 18 month delay will have all that much of a negative impact on "The Good Dinosaur" 's box office potential. Looking back on the last time something like this happened (i.e., there was a year-and-a-half long gap between the November 2004 release of "The Incredibles " and the June 2006 release of "Cars "), Brad Bird's superhero saga made $261.4 million domestic, $370 million overseas for a grand total of $631.4 million worldwide. Whereas John Lasseter's tribute to small town living sold $244.0 million worth of tickets stateside, $217 million to foreign filmgoers. With "Cars" combined worldwide box office totals coming in at $461.9 million.
Copyright Disney Pixar. All rights reserved
So long story short: If "The Good Dinosaur" worldwide box office totals are eventually on par with "The Incredibles" & "Cars," no one has to worry about Pixar Animation Studios becoming extinct anytime soon.
In the meantime, here's hoping that the folks up in Emeryville who have been tasked with fixing "The Good Dinosaur" get a handle on this film's story problems very, very soon. Because -- based on the concept art that's already out there -- there are already a lot of little kids around the world who'd love to get their hands on an Arlo & Spot plush.
Your thoughts?

UPDATE: And in the 24 hours since this story was originally posted on JHM, Walt Disney Studios has made further adjustments to its theatrical release schedule for 2014, 2015 and 2016 to compensate for "The Good Dinosaur" being shifted from May of 2014 to November of 2015. Disney "Maleficent" -- which was originally supposed to be released on July 2, 2014 -- will now open in theaters in the "Good Dinosaur" 's old slot, May 30, 2014. Meanwhile, because the "Good Dinosaur" is now supposed to open in theaters on the date that was originally reserved for "Finding Dory," the release date of this Andrew Stanton film has been pushed back to June 17, 2016.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Given that -- at the D23 EXPO -- Pixar's reps eluded to the fact that they were already in the process of overhauling the storyline of this "Finding Nemo" follow-up. That -- after a screening of "Blackfish" on the Emeryville campus -- Stanton & his production team were no longer comfortable with setting this sequel in a SeaWorld-like park where the animals are kept in tanks & cages. So now, Pixar's in the process of rewriting "Finding Dory" storyline so that the fish who are on display at this seaside theme park can come & go as they please. If they want to do that, that is.

I fell into conversation with a Mouse artist about the delay of the latest Pixar flick; the artist said:
"We're working to get the shows that are in development tied down as much as possible. The trouble with Dinosaur is they put it into work before they knew where they were going. They said "things will work out," and some things didn't. I don't think John [Lasseter] wants to go through that again." ...
To which I replied, "LOTS of pictures get greenlit and pushed into production with story bits hanging in mid-air. Lots of times story departments get away with it, but other times not." (This isn't story exactly, but when The Rescuers production issues and Bernard and Bianca were off-model, director Woolie Reitherman said: "We paint the off-model mice the same shade of gray, nobody will notice." He was 90% right.)
Simpatico!
Comunque a me piace (proprio perché gli stessi Croods mi piacciono)

Fantastico! Allora non è stato rimandato!
Il Dinosauro vive!!

John Lithgow to Completely Re-Record His Work for Pixar’s THE GOOD DINOSAUR; Says Original Story Was “Dismantled and Reimagined”

We’ve had a new Pixar movie every year for eight years now, so when The Good Dinosaur was pushed back from May 30, 2014 to November 25, 2015, it was tough not to be both concerned and disappointed, especially considering what went down prior to that announcement. Almost exactly a year ago, word got out that director Bob Peterson was removed from the project. On top of that, Peterson’s co-director, Peter Sohn, didn’t even get the solo gig. Instead, he’s overseeing it as part of the Pixar Brain Trust.
That’s not something you want to hear when it comes to an especially highly anticipated film. However, while talking to John Lithgow today about his upcoming release, Love Is Strange, he assured us that The Good Dinosaur is in great shape. Hit the jump to hear about how the delay affected Lithgow’s work on the film.
the-good-dinosaur-concept-artWhen we expressed our disappointment regarding the Good Dinosaur delay and the lack of a Pixar movie this year, Lithgow explained:
“I recorded the entire role in Good Dinosaur. They have now dismantled it and completely reimagined it, and it is a fantastic new story. So I’m gonna record again on it within the next month. Don’t worry. It’s coming and it’s gonna be better than I ever imagined.”
Clearly there’s some pretty drastic changes going on over there. This wasn’t just about the Brain Trust stepping in until a replacement could be found. If they’re having the cast re-record their roles, this must be a complete overhaul. In fact, Lithgow also made a point of noting:
“But me and Frannie McDormand, we’re still playing Momma and Poppa dinosaur.”
the_good_dinosaur_logo_pixarDoes that mean some of the roles might have been re-cast? Of course this is only speculation, but considering the Good Dinosaur roster was loaded with in-demand talent, it seems like that’s a possibility. The last we heard, Lithgow, McDormand, Lucas Neff, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris and Judy Greer were leading the cast.
It’s always a bummer to hear that a project isn’t running smoothly, but hopefully this reassessment and reconstruction time is used wisely and we’ll get an even better final product for it. Lithgow certainly seems to think it’ll shape up well.
You can catch Lithgow talking about The Good Dinosaur for yourself in the clip below and be sure to keep an eye out for our full interview with him and his Love Is Strange co-star, Alfred Molina, coming soon.

Scusate!
Grazie del chiarimento, Iry !
Nuovo concept e nuove info su The good dinosaur.

Pixar redraws the lines for 'Good Dinosaur'

Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' has gone through an evolution with a new director and streamlined story
Pixar's orphan movie "The Good Dinosaur" has a new parent — and a new story.
First-time feature director Peter Sohn, an artist at the studio in Emeryville, Calif., since 2000, unofficially took over the film a few months after Pixar executives removed its first director, Bob Peterson, amid creative concerns in the summer of 2013.
------------
For the record
Nov. 18, 5:20 p.m.: An earlier version of this post said that Benjamin Bogas was voicing a character in "The Good Dinosaur." Bogas is not working on the movie.
------------
Walt Disney Animation Studios' 2010 film "Tangled" changed direction, going from Glen Keane to Byron Howard, left, and Nathan Greno.
Over the last year, Sohn has been quietly streamlining the story, a buddy comedy about a teenage dinosaur and a human boy, in preparation for a November 2015 release.
"The heart of the story remains the same," Sohn said, in an interview last week. "It's always been about this young dinosaur growing up. But the world itself has changed a lot. Nature has become a character."
Director changes are relatively common in animation in general, where multi-year production schedules can test a person's creative and managerial stamina, and at Pixar in particular, where "The Good Dinosaur" was the fourth of the studio's last eight films to see a swap.
But the midstream move caused a cascade of headaches for Pixar and for its parent company, Walt Disney Co., which pushed "The Good Dinosaur's" release date back 18 months from May of 2014.
The timing change left Pixar without a 2014 film, bumped Andrew Stanton's anticipated "Finding Nemo" sequel, "Finding Dory," to 2016 and caused the company to lay off 50 employees.
"For Pixar it was a dramatic event," said Jim Morris, the studio's general manager and executive vice president of production. "It was tough on the company. Most studios would have said, 'The movie's fine. It's not bad.' And it wasn't bad; it just wasn't great. We wanted to have a great movie."
At the time, Pixar's leadership, including studio president Ed Catmull, felt Peterson was creatively stuck on the film and was proving too slow to make important story decisions. Sohn had been serving as Peterson's co-director, a position akin to that of a deputy at Pixar.
As in Peterson's version, the film still posits that an asteroid never hit the Earth and the dinosaurs never went extinct; a teenage Apatosaurus named Arlo takes a wild, young human boy named Spot as a pet.
Sohn has jettisoned some of Peterson's signature ideas, such as modeling the dinosaurs on Amish farmers, and added new elements, including treating nature as the film's antagonist.
"When Bob was taken off, I was supporting the film as best I could," Sohn said. "It felt like, this child, this film still needs to be raised. It was just about how to take care of the thing at that time. ... Trying to keep the original vision of this film intact and trying to plus it as well."
In taking over the film, Sohn, 37, becomes part of a new generation of directors succeeding Stanton, Pete Docter and "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich, all of whom are in their late 40s.
Born in the Bronx to Korean immigrants, Sohn got a summer job working on Brad Bird's 1999 animated cult classic "Iron Giant" while studying animation at the California Institute of the Arts.
At Pixar, Sohn distinguished himself in the art, story and animation departments, directed the 2009 short film "Partly Cloudy" and became known around the studio for his wide-eyed, ebullient demeanor. Sohn has even inspired a Pixar character — Russell, the enthusiastic boy wilderness explorer in the movie "Up."
"He has this warm, open, innocent view of the world which he channels well into humor," Morris said of Sohn.
Sohn got the "Good Dinosaur" job after he presented a possible new version of the film in storyboards last summer, according to producer Denise Ream.
Because of Sohn's relative inexperience, Ream enlisted some of Pixar's veteran department heads to help him finish "The Good Dinosaur," including production designer Harley Jessup and director of photography-lighting Sharon Calahan, both of whom lent "Ratatouille" much of its visual richness (incidentally, that successful 2007 film was another of Pixar's controversial director changes, from the idea's originator, Jan Pinkava, to Bird).
Peterson remains at Pixar and, according to Morris, has been working on Docter's next film, "Inside Out," and on "Finding Dory" as a writer. He declined to comment for this story.
"Being a director in animation is a lot harder," Morris said. "By the time you get to the set in live action, you've got your actors, your location. You've got a crew assembled. In animation, you've got to build everything. You don't get anything for free — the beautiful sunset or the improvisational moment of the actors. You don't really know until somebody's in the director's chair whether it's going to work out."

Arlo may be a good dino, but his synopsis may have to go to obedience school to learn how to sit. We have received a third(?) official synopsis for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur (November 25, 2015), courtesy of Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios which now reads as follows, removing all references to Arlo’s family and the ‘traumatic event':
The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

Primo Teaser:
Bello!
In alcune scene la grafica mi sembra troppo realistica, in altre troppo cartoonesca.
Badtaste dà anche il primo poster:
Ammazza il fotorealismo! Bello!
A me piace moltissimo!
Svelato nuovo cast doppiatori

Mazza!
The Good Dinosaur – Peter Sohn parla dell’influenza di Dumbo e Bambi

FONTE: app disney
Per me andava lasciato in originale.
Bellissimo!

Ci siamo ispirati a quegli splendidi paesaggi.
