La Marvel produrrà un nuovo film ispirato ai Guardiani della Galassia, un gruppo di supereroi stellari.

Secondo molti pareri su internet il film potrebbe essere la risposta Disney e Marvel alla saga di Guerre Stellari.

Dal 2008, anno in cui è uscito il lungometraggio di Iron Man, sembra che ogni singolo supereroe della Marvel sia stato preso in considerazione per un'eventuale trasposizione cinematografica. E per molti di loro è arrivata. E' ora il turno dei Guardiani della Galassia, un gruppo di personaggi la cui prima apparizione sulle testate Marvel risale al 1969.
Ultimo baluardo della razza umana contro le mire espansionistiche della razza aliena Badoon, la formazione di supereroi si troverà a collaborare, tra gli altri, con Thor e con i Vendicatori.

Il progetto, che era già stato annunciato l'anno scorso dal presidente della Marvel Kevin Feige, sembra ora essere entrato in fase di produzione.

Marvel Studios' President of Production Kevin Feige gives an update on Marvel's cosmic Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy. Feige confirmed that the upcoming film will portray the modern incarnation of the team.

At the press junket for The Avengers, Marvel Studios' President of Production Kevin Feige revealed some updates for The Guardians of The Galaxy, a project that along with Ant-Man, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Namor, The Inhumans and Dr. Strange could very well be the other 2014 movie that gets released with the Captain America sequel. Feige confirmed that the upcoming film will portray the modern incarnation of the team, which includes such intergalactic superheroes as Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot and fan favorite, Rocket Raccoon.

QUESTION: When asked about which non-sequel projects Marvel Studios was prioritizing at the moment, Feige said, "I think whether it's Ant-Man, or Dr. Strange, or The Inhumans, or The Guardians of the Galaxy..." To which we eagerly cried, "Rocket Racooooon...!"

FEIGE: "We are very excited about bringing things like that, maybe things exactly like that, to the screen. [...] When you tell people, you know what would be really cool? This movie, and there's a raccoon, and there's a tree... And they go, 'What?' And people like you know what it is, and get excited. And the majority of people go, 'Did you say a raccoon and a tree?' 'Oh yeah, they're going to steal the whole movie. They're hilarious.' 'Okay, I'll believe it when I see it.' I like that."

QUESTION:When asked to confirm that an upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie would be focused on the new team, as opposed to the original team, created in 1969 which had their own well-received series from Jim Valentino in the 1990s, he clarified:

FEIGE: "Yeah. It's more Star-Lord and Drax and Gamora, and less Vance Astro and that team."

QUESTION: And when specifically asked if it is the second Marvel 2014 film to be released alongside the Captain America sequel...

FEIGE: "We know what our second movie in 2014 is going to be, but we haven't announced it yet."

I wrote a detailed article a few months back about all the different directions Marvel could go in 2014 back in September. Check it out. Recently, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo spilled the beans [reportedly to the fury of Feige] about another scene they're shooting right after The Avengers premiere and many speculate that it will be for the second 2014 Marvel movie.

Kevin Feige e i prossimi 5 film della Marvel

All'inizio di aprile abbiamo avuto l'onore di poter intervistare Kevin Feige, il presidente di produzione dei Marvel Studios e di parlare con lui di The Avengers, il kolossal di Joss Whedon in arrivo il 25 aprile al cinema. Questo cross over servirà da apripista per le varie storyline dei futuri cinecomic Marvel, ma, come è noto, lo studio ha anche intenzione di dare vita a delle pellicole dedicate agli altri personaggi del suo pantheon come Ant-Man (sviluppato ormai da anni da Edgar Wright), Guardians of the Galaxy e The Inhumans.

Gli ultimi aggiornamenti in merito risalgono allo scorso ottobre, ma ora, come corollario agli impegni stampa per The Avengers, Feige ha condiviso alcune nuove informazioni sugli altri film Marvel con Crave Online.

Alla domanda su quale fra i non sequel dello studio abbia attualmente la massima priorità risponde:

Penso che si tratti di uno fra Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Inhumans e Guardians of the Galaxy. Siamo davvero eccitati al pensiero di portare sul grande schermo cose come queste. Cose esattamente come queste (Guardians of the Galaxy, ndr.). Quando dici alle persone che nel film ci saranno davvero un procione e un albero ti guardano stupite e ti domandano "Ma davvero?", ma quelli come noi sanno di cosa si tratta e si gasano. Ma la maggior parte della gente chiede "Hai detto un procione e un albero?", "Si, e ruberanno la scena per tutto il film", "Ok ci crederò quando lo vedrò". Mi piace questa cosa.

Feige rivela poi che il lungumetraggio su Guardians of the Galaxy sarà basato sulla moderna incarnazione del fumetto e che la squadra dei guardiani comprenderà eroi come Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot e, l'avrete già capito, Rocket Raccoon.

Kevin Feige Talks Loki, Whedon, and Marvel Studios' Post-"Avengers" Plans

Though Marvel Studios has officially announced some of its next movies -- mainly sequels to the Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America franchises -- there has been off and on movement on an Ant-Man movie, tentatively to be helmed by director Edgar Wright, and a Runaways film, as well as talk about a possible Inhumans or Guardians Of the Galaxy film.

"The movies we've already announced are the ones we're working on most heavily and are the ones that are frankly taking up most of our imagination right now; how to bring Tony Stark back in a way that is unexpected and surprises people, how to evolve the Thor franchise and the Captain America franchise in new and unexpected ways to elevate them beyond what they started as," Feige said. "Doing something completely unexpected, outside the box, we're going to do that on these other Cap movies and Thor movies and Iron Man movies."

However, the producer added with a smile when asked about the possibility of an Ant-Man, Runaways, Inhumans or Guardians film, "Two of those four are much closer than people realize, and we'll be talking about them in the coming months!"

Marvel Starts Filing Trademarks For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Well, this is intriguing! Marvel has apparently filed a bunch of trademarks for everything Guardians of the Galaxy related. Something to do with the planned big screen adaptation or Brian Michael Bendis' rumoured comic book series? Read on for details.

Following the news that work might finally be moving ahead on Ant-Man, our friends over at Bleeding Cool have made a rather interesting discovery about another planned Marvel Studios movie; Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel Comics have just filed eleven new trademark applications for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY covering everything from jewelery to beverages to furniture to cosmetics. The applications cover International Classes 3, 14, 16, 20, 24, 29, 30, 32, 35, 41, 42, and also include computer games, fabrics, foods, paper goods, entertainment and internet services, and even retail store services.

It is of course possible that Marvel are simply planning on increasing the sorts of merchandise available for these characters following the rumoured launch of a new Guardians of the Galaxy series by Brian Michael Bendis after the conclusion of Avengers Vs. X-Men. However, it seems far more likely that this is in fact in preparation for the planned big screen outing for the characters, despite the fact that they may still be a good few years away from their live action debut. Non c'è voluto molto, solo poche ore. Lo scoop di LatinoReview di ieri sera è stato confermato dai principali quotidiani di Hollywood, ovvero Variety e l'Hollywood Reporter, che oggi includono maggiori dettagli sulla pellicola dei Marvel Studios.

Variety conferma che l'uscita del film è prevista per il 16 maggio 2014, e rivela che la sceneggiatrice Nicole Perlman ha già completato la prima bozza della sceneggiatura. Manca solo il regista, per il quale non sappiamo ancora se sono già state avviate trattative (potrebbe essere l'unica informazione rimasta segreta in vista del Comic-Con, dopo questo colossale leak). Secondo il sito, la ragione per la quale i Guardiani torneranno indietro nel tempo dal 31esimo secolo sarà combattere i Badoon, una crudele razza aliena che cerca di conquistare il Sistema Solare. I Marvel Studios sarebbero molto felici del lavoro della Perlman, una sceneggiatrice alle prime armi uscita da poco dal programma di "addestramento" degli sceneggiatori della Disney e che si sarebbe fatta notare dalla compagnia realizzando una sceneggiatura per un film dedicato a Vedova Nera, lavorando poi allo script di Thor. L'Hollywood Reporter aggiunge che "chi ha letto la sceneggiatura dei Guardiani della Galassia sostengono che è in linea con The Avengers nel tono, nel senso che è ricco di elementi comici e di divertimento".

Questo film ci ispira un sacco... comunque I Guardiani della Galassia sarà utilizzato come brand non solo al cinema ma anche in televisione con cartoni animati, nell'ambito dei videogame, dei prodotti in licenza quali giocattoli, abbigliamento ecc e anche in attrazioni nei parchi a tema, secondo quanto scritto da Variety.

Time-traveling, interstellar group would launch in May 2014

Marvel Studios is ready to assemble its next group of superheroes for the bigscreen: The Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Disney division is expected to announce a "Guardians" film as its next tentpole that would launch a new set of characters on May 16, 2014. Studio had previously planted a flag on that date for an untitled Marvel pic.

The Guardians are aliens in the 31st century -- each the last of their kind -- who travel back in time to enlist help to battle the Badoon, an evil alien race that attempts to conquer Earth's solar system. First introduced in 1969 and again in 2008, the newer set includes Star-Lord, Drax, gun-toting Rocket Raccoon and Groot, a tree. Characters were recently featured in an episode of the animated series "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

In the comicbooks, the characters have crossed over into the "The Avengers" universe, making them fit in easily with Marvel's bigscreen plans to expand the superhero franchise -- as would Ant-Man, another Avenger. And like its other Marvel properties, Disney can exploit the Guardians across all of the Mouse House's divisions as TV shows, videogames, consumer products and possibly theme park attractions.

Nicole Perlman, who came out of Disney's screenwriting program, penned a version of the script that Marvel has been high on.

While Marvel will focus much of its Comic-Con presentation on "Iron Man 3," lensing now in North Carolina under the direction of Shane Black, the company will spend some time highlighting how it plans to introduce new characters to auds the way it did with Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America. Session wraps up Hollywood's film panels on July 14.

The website Latino Review first reported Marvel's plan to announce a Guardians pic at Comic-Con. Marvel declined to comment, although sources confirm to Variety that Disney and Marvel are zeroing in on the project, rather than a standalone Black Panther project at this point.

Marvel topper Kevin Feige has long discussed the possibility of a Guardians film, wanting to produce a big-budget space adventure. And Disney recently secured trademark rights to produce an array of consumer products tied to the pic and its characters.

Guardians of the Galaxy is among several new properties Marvel is looking to launch as films, along with Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, The Inhumans, while Black Panther also is being tackled by scribes. Edgar Wright recently shot test footage for "Ant-Man," about a scientist who can change his size and communicate with insects. Project, which he co-wrote with Joe Cornish, has long been in development and discussed at Comic-Con in previous years.

Marvel and Disney's next superhero outing is "Iron Man 3," skedded for May 3, 2013, to be followed by "Thor 2" (Nov. 15, 2013) and "Captain America 2 (April 4th, 2014). Disney already has said an "Avengers" sequel is in the works, most likely for 2015, although no date has yet been set.

Slitta l'uscita del secondo film Marvel del 2014

Nuove date per uno dei film Marvel del 2014.

I Marvel Studios hanno infatti rimandato il secondo dei due film annunciati per quell'anno, ancora senza un titolo (verrà quasi sicuramente rivelato a Comic-Con di San Diego la settimana prossima, ma è già stato rivelato che si tratterà dei Guardiani della Galassia, anche se in realtà ci sono altri progetti in cantiere come Ant-Man e i Guardiani potrebbe uscire più avanti). Inizialmente la pellicola doveva uscire il 16 maggio 2014: ora invece arriverà il 1 agosto 2014, una data inedita per i film Marvel.

Per quanto riguarda l'altro film del 2014, Captain America 2, è possibile che venga rimandato ai primi di maggio dall'attuale data del 4 aprile: vi terremo aggiornati.

As we know, Marvel will reveal plans for a new movie at their SDCC panel. It is expected to be GOTG, but Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito also teases another movie that was rumored to be announced first - Black Panther..

"That would be Marvel in space," he said. "That's a great concept and a great idea, and potentially one of our films in the future."

On Black Panther..

"He has a lot of the same characteristics of a Captain America: great character, good values," said the Marvel exec. "But it's a little more difficult, maybe, creating [a world like Wakanda]. It's always easier basing it here. For instance, 'Iron Man 3' is rooted right here in Los Angeles and New York. When you bring in other worlds, you're always faced with those difficulties."

Marvel Investigating 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Media Leak

A security official for Marvel tells Latino Review, "If you provide me with your source, I will make it worth your effort."

Marvel Studios is taking action against a leak of information about a pair of its upcoming movies.

Latino Review, the website that first revealed Marvel's plans to make Guardians of the Galaxy for release in 2014, has now published an e-mail from an unnamed Marvel "security consultant" investigating how the information reached the media ahead of a planned reveal at Comic-Con last weekend.

The investigator is Robert Grosser, who is vp of loss prevention at Marvel. In the letter, Grosser demands the source of "confidential, non-public information concerning Iron Man 3 and Guardians of Galaxy."

Grosser goes on to say that Marvel execs are "extremely upset" about the leak and have authorized him to find out the source. "If you provide me with your source, I will make it worth your effort," he writes.

A Marvel spokesperson had no comment.

Sources say the company, which has produced some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters in recent years, has been hit with a series of intellectual property thefts recently, including stolen scripts and images. In trying to protect its content, this type of form letter is usually sent out.

Insiders say that Marvel's head of security may not have known that Latino Review was a journalistic site.

Latino Review's writer ridicules what it sees as condescension and adds that the e-mail didn't deserve a response "because I've done nothing wrong. A representative of my favorite comics house just stepped into my life with no legal authority to demand anything and threatened my career for doing my job well."

The episode calls to mind efforts made by Apple more than eight years ago to identify the source of new Apple products to several online news sites, including AppleInsider.

Apple sued anonymous John Does in California, claiming the theft of trade secrets, and then served subpoenas on the websites, demanding information. The websites resisted, claiming the right to invoke journalists' shield privilege not to identify a source.

The case went up the appellate circuit, where the online websites were supported by a host of news organizations in amicus briefs. A lower court agreed with Apple that the websites shouldn't be granted a protective order against the subpoenas, but in 2006, the California Court of Appeal reversed the decision, saying that online journalists have the same rights as print ones and writing that to favor Apple would "empower betrayed employers to clothe themselves with the subpoena power."

If Marvel wishes to pursue the leak further, it would seemingly have to overcome that strong precedent. It might argue that the website writer wasn't an actual journalist and shouldn't deserve the benefit of journalistic shield. In the letter (below), Grosser writes about Latino Review being a "fanboy website," adding "Like many fans out there, you just wanted to be the first one to post something on the internet.


But Latino Review seems to know what it is doing, posting the letter under the headline, "Marvel Might Not Know What Reporting Is":

"My name is Rob Grosser and I am an independent security consultant working for Marvel. I have worked as a security consultant for Marvel since 1982. I am currently conducting an investigation on Marvel’s behalf regarding the dissemination of confidential, non-public information concerning Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy. The executives at Marvel are extremely upset regarding the release of this information and they have instructed me to find you and ascertain how you received it. My goal is to accomplish this in a quiet manner. I do not want to see you or anyone else get into trouble nor do I want to see anyone’s career be tarnished because of this. However I am very confident that through your efforts and mine, we will be able to work through this together. I personally feel that you did not have any malicious intent when you posted your spoilers on the fanboy website. Like many fans out there, you just wanted to be the first one to post something on the internet. I get it, however the Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy information was confidential and you did not have Marvel’s consent to post it. That was illegal!

If you provide me with your source, I will make it worth your effort. I want to work with you. As I stated above, I do not want to see you or anyone else get into trouble. That would be a lose-lose for everyone. I would hope that you are now realizing that this is a very serious matter and the consequences will be quite severe if I do not find out how you obtained the Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy information.

My goal is to ascertain how you got the Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy informationand make this go away. All information you provide will remain confidential, even your identity. Your source will never know. Let’s work together and make this happen before it is too late. To date, everyone I have worked with has not suffered any consequences. I do not want to see this situation get blown out of proportion. However if we do not work together, I will have no choice but to take this investigation to the next level and I will not stop until this investigation is completed.

I Vendicatori e i Guardiani della Galassia insieme in un banner fan-made

I Guardiani della Galassia è stato appena annunciato al Comic-Con di San Diego, e già è entrato nell'immaginario dei fan, tanto che un fan ha realizzato un banner decisamente credibile che fonde il team di The Avengers con i protagonisti del nuovo kolossal dei Marvel Studios in uscita il 1 agosto 2014, il quale verrà preceduto da Iron Man 3 (maggio 2013), Thor: the Dark World (novembre 2013) e Captain America: the Winter Soldier (aprile 2014) e dovrebbe condurre verso The Avengers 2 (2015?).

Un nuovo sceneggiatore per i Guardiani della Galassia

Come annunciato qualche settimana fa, I Guardiani della Galassia uscirà nel 2014: con una data già fissata, i Marvel Studios devono finalizzare lo script quanto prima per poi avviare la fase di casting e trovare un regista.

Il primo script del film è stato realizzato da Nicole Perlman, una diplomata del programma di "addestramento" sceneggiatori della Marvel che non esiste più da qualche tempo. Ora i Marvel Studios hanno coinvolto un nuovo sceneggiatore, Chris McCoy, per rimaneggiare lo script. McCoy in passato ha realizzato ben tre script finiti nella Black List, la lista delle migliori sceneggiature non prodotte dell'anno, intitolate Get Back (2007), Good Looking (2009) e Good Kids (2011), ed è noto per il suo senso dell'umorismo molto particolare.

Secondo il sito Heat Vision, questa è la descrizione dei personaggi che vedremo nel film in arrivo l'1 agosto 2014:

Drax il distruttore, un umano risorto come guerriero verde con l'unico obiettivo di distruggere Thanos (il villain che vedevamo alla fine di The Avengers); Groot, un enorme uoo-albero; Star-Lord, un vigilante intergalattico in parte umano e imparte alieno; Rocket Raccoon, un animale geneticamente modificato appassionato di pistole ed esplosivi; e Gamora, l'ultima sopravvissuta della sua specie salvata da Thanos perché diventasse una assassina al suo servizio ma che ora gli ha voltato le spalle.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Creators Reflect On Team's Creation And Movie Adaptation

Offering brief thoughts on the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, while reflecting on the team's creation, hit the jump for comments from the characters' creators & editorial members.

Reportedly leading directly into Marvel's The Avengers 2015 sequel, which Joss Whedon is officially onboard to write & direct, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy adaptation is gaining hype especially. And Vulture recently whipped up a descent rundown on each character so-far confirmed. And excerpts from the rundown offer comments from the superhero team's creators, and those who helped revive them, dotting on the team and their live-action adaptation.

A former member of the editorial staff that revived the team says, “A lot of these characters were sort of laying around. We thought, 'No one really seems to have a great deal of affection for them, so maybe we can push the Marvel science-fiction universe a little further.'”

In regards to the galactic team not being as recognizable as A-list teams like the X-Men and Fantastic Four, Rocket Raccoon co-creator Keith Giffen thinks that that fact granted them more freedom with the characters' direction.

“It's the lighthearted, fun, quip-filled, bouncy stuff that fits in pretty well with all the stuff [Marvel Studios] are already doing, and going out into space will be a nice change of setting.”

Another ex-employee of the editorial staff agrees with Griffen, adding that the the lack of expectation that motivated the Guardians comic book creators could be a similar scenario with the movie's developers. “Everyone has a firm idea of who and what Spider-Man is. If you stray too far from that, people will say, 'That's not the Spider-Man that I know,' and they're disappointed. Whereas if you throw a bunch of characters like Drax on a movie screen, there are relatively few people who have some idea in their head.”

Moving on to character specific comments, describing Groot, a walking-talking tree, an ex-staffer implies he's “A creature of wood, who feeds on wood!. Keith Giffen, who helped reboot Drax the Destroyer, states that the green warrior is “too macho for the room. Andy Lanning parla del film dei Guardiani della Galassia

Come sapete, in queste settimane Chris McCoy sta riscrivendo la sceneggiatura del film sui Guardiani della Galassia per i Marvel Studios: il kolossal è stato annunciato al Comic-Con e uscirà nel 2014.

La lineup annunciata ha lasciato intendere che il film sarà ispirato a una particolare run dei fumetti, il reboot del 2008 di Andy Lanning e Dan Abnett, ovviamente più moderno rispetto all'originale del 1969.

Parlando a Newsrama, Lanning ha rilasciato una dichiarazione a nome suo e di Abnett:

Dan e io siamo molto eccitati all'idea di veder sbarcare i Guardiani della Galassia sul grande schermo, in particolare se si trattasse - come sembra - della versione del team presentata nella nostra run di fumetti. Non vediamo l'ora di vedere il film con tutti i fan delle storie cosmiche.

Una cosa che vorrei sottolineare è che siamo davvero grati per le straordinarie storie scritte dai nostri predecessori, in particolare quelle di Jim Starlin e Keith Giffen: questi tizi sono i giganti ai quali ci inchiniamo. Oltre a quello, ci di spiace dover affermare di non sapere davvero nulla sul film, quindi non possiamo fare ulteriori commenti.

Questa la descrizione dei personaggi che vedremo nel film in arrivo l'1 agosto 2014:

Drax il distruttore, un umano risorto come guerriero verde con l'unico obiettivo di distruggere Thanos (il villain che vedevamo alla fine di The Avengers); Groot, un enorme uoo-albero; Star-Lord, un vigilante intergalattico in parte umano e imparte alieno; Rocket Raccoon, un animale geneticamente modificato appassionato di pistole ed esplosivi; e Gamora, l'ultima sopravvissuta della sua specie salvata da Thanos perché diventasse una assassina al suo servizio ma che ora gli ha voltato le spalle.

Una sinossi preliminare per i Guardiani della Galassia?

E' Production Weekly a riportare quella che potrebbe essere una sinossi preliminare di Guardians of the Galaxy, il nuovo film dei Marvel Studios annunciato al Comic-Con e in arrivo nel 2013.

Attualmente Chris McCoy sta riscrivendo la sceneggiatura del film, per cui è plausibile che esista già una sorta di trama. Production Weekly e il database online Itsonthegrid, entrambi piuttosto importanti nel settore, riportano quindi queste poche righe per descrivere il progetto:

Riguarda un pilota degli Stati Uniti che si ritrova nello Spazio nel bel mezzo di un conflitto universale e si dà alla fuga con un gruppo di futuristici ex detenuti che hanno una cosa che tutti quanti vogliono.

Il pilota dovrebbe essere Peter Quill / Star-Lord, e gli altri Guardiani sono gli ex-detenuti: la lineup mostrata nel primo concept include Drax, Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon. Questa la descrizione dei personaggi uscita qualche tempo fa:

Ottima notizia. La trama promette molto bene.
Pensiamo davvero che questo film ha tutte le carte in regola per diventare il Guerre Stellari del nuovo millennio.
Chissà come realizzeranno Groot e Rocket Raccoon... che li facciano in CGI? Secondo noi è la soluzione più plausibile...
Siamo curiosi anche di sapere chi farà parte del cast. Speriamo che presto inizino poi a circolare i vari rumors...

James Gunn in trattative per dirigere I Guardiani della Galassia!

L'Hollywood Reporter ha appena rivelato chi è il regista che molto probabilmente dirigerà il nuovo film dei Marvel Studios I Guardiani della Galassia: si tratta di James Gunn, regista di Super.

Secondo il sito, i Marvel Studios sono in trattative esclusivamente con Gunn per dirigere l'atteso film fantascientifico/supereroistico dopo aver compiuto un'attenta ricerca. Tra i registi precedentemente in lizza apprendiamo che c'erano Peyton Reed (Yes Man) e il duo Ryan Fleck e Anna Boden (Half Nelson): in caso le trattative con Gunn non dovessero risolversi positivamente, è ancora possibile che una di queste figure ottenga lìincarico.

Sempre secondo il sito, la Marvel avrebbe molto apprezzato in Gunn la sua sensibilità e la sua abilità a mescolare elementi comici con l'azione e l'horror, qualità che effettivamente lo avvicinano molto a Joss Whedon, autore del grande successo del 2012 The Avengers, il film supereroistico di maggior successo di sempre. Whedon ha un contratto in esclusiva con la Marvel, e ora sta lavorando all'Universo Cinematografico Marvel sviluppando non solo il sequel di The Avengers ma anche altri progetti.

Gunn è noto per i suoi progetti indipendenti e low budget, come Slither e Super (quest'ultimo presenta una interpretazione molto particolare del concetto del supereroe/vigilante). Per Hollywood ha anche scritto l'adattamento cinematografico di Scooby-Doo, ma le sue origini sono da ricercarsi nella Troma Entertainment.

Per quanto riguarda Guardians of the Galaxy, a rimaneggiare il primo script di Nicole Perlman è stato messo Chris McCoy: è molto probabile che, una volta scelto il regista, la sceneggiatura venga revisionata ulteriormente.

Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden Out Of The Running For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

While James Gunn is reportedly the favourite to helm Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios, a new report reveals that other candidates - who would be selected if talks with Gunn don't work out - Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden are no longer in the running.

Following reports yesterday evening that James Gunn (Super) is in late stage talks with Marvel Studios to direct 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, it was also revealed that Peyton Reed (Yes Man) and directing duo Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (Half Nelson) were being considered by the studio should talks with Gunn not work out. Well, it appears as if we can now cross the latter two off the list as The Playlist reports that their reps have told them their involvement with the big screen adaptation is untrue. This seems odd, especially as the most we get is a "No Comment" in similar circumstances. Perhaps they're trying to save face as they weren't chosen to direct the film? Either way, James Gunn has been a little more forthcoming, teasing fans via his Twitter account, only to later delete those Tweets. Stay tuned! Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on August 1st, 2014.

Guardians of the Galaxy movie gets writers backing

The writers of the hit comic book Guardians of the Galaxy have given their backing to the planned movie adaptation by Marvel Studios. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, who are credited with creating the modern adaptation of the team, have both spoken about their joy at being chosen for the big screen.

Abnett explained to CBR, "The fact that Marvel has decided that that makes good sense for them to do, it's a huge compliment. We're very excited to see what happens, and we're very excited to see where they go with it. I think anybody - I don't care how devoted a Star-Lord or Rocket Raccoon fan you were even two years ago - who would have said that this would make a great main movie would have been laughed off.”

He continued, "It's such an unlikely thing to do. So I think it's lovely to work on something and expose its potential to the point where a company like Marvel will say, 'Yes, this makes sense'. We're very excited. It's very interesting to look at it happening."

Lanning added, "To actually use our cast to make a movie is fantastic. We've been on the record saying that as much as anybody, we're happy to sit back as fans and enjoy the ride. We hope it does this justice and do all the things this idea has the potential to achieve."

It is widely expected that James Gunn will be given the job of bringing the movie to life and Guardians of the Galaxy is currently scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014.
