〉 LeFauve was nominated for an Academy Award for her work on the Inside Out screenplay.

Captain Marvel screenwriter Meg LeFauve has been tapped to breathe new life into BEACHED, a family comedy now set up at Disney. The project, which has been in development for nearly two decades, was originally written by Ocean’s Eleven scribe Ted Griffin and previously set up at Fox 2000.

The film tells the story of a 4 year-old child who falls overboard during a family outing, is raised by a pod of whales, and is washed ashore twenty-seven years later to re-enter life on land and become an Olympic swimmer.

Rob Scheidlinger and Jason Reed are producing with Griffin. Kristin Burr is the studio executive for Disney. The project was previously set up at Fox 2000 with 20th Century Fox distributing. National Treasure helmer Jon Turteltaub was previously attached to direct – a role Betty Thomas was once circling – though now Turteltaub may serve solely in a producer capacity.

In development since as early as 1997, the script has undergone multiple drafts over the years, with writers Brian Gibson, Stuart Blumberg, and Jordan Roberts all turning in drafts while still set up at Fox 2000. With the project shifting from Fox to Disney, the Mouse House has plucked LeFauve – who wrote 2015’s The Good Dinosaur and Oscar-nominated Inside Out for Pixar – from its talent pool to turn in the latest rewrite of the high-concept comedy.

In addition to her work with Pixar, LeFauve serves as a staff writer on the Cinemax series Outcast and is currently adapting the Ruth Gannett Stiles children’s book My Father’s Dragon for Mockingbird Pictures. She was recently brought on to write the screenplay for Disney’s Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson.

Strano che la notizia (datata Agosto 2016) sia passata completamente inosservata.

Ricordo anche che a ottobre 2016 la Lefauve è stata nominata co-regista di Gigantic.

Ahia, grazie Scissor, in effetti in Italia ha coinciso col Ferragosto...Immagino si spieghi da solo ...In sé il film risulta interessante, se non fosse troppo un ibrido tra Il Libro della Giungla e Splash...Visto che il sequel del penultimo e il remake dell'ultimo sono in agguato, non so fino a che punto questo progetto abbia vita lunga...Ma in tempi di déja vu come questi, figurarsi se Disney si sottrarrà facilmente all'ennesima "fotocopia"...

Eh, ma il fatto è che persino Variety e Hollywood Reporter non hanno riportato nulla. Almeno, ho cercato e ho trovato altri siti e non quelli, diciamo così, importanti.
