L'Expo Disney 2015 di San Paolo del Brasile rivela che ci sarà una serie tv dedicata a Rapunzel per il 2017 che andrà in onda su Disney Junior.

Dopo La Sirenetta e Aladdin si ritorna a fare serie tv tratte dai Classici.

A me preoccupa che sia destinato al canale "Disney Junior"; io penso che ci sia il rischio che possa essere una serie troppo infantile.

La serie su Rapunzel era un progetto ipotetico nel 2010, oltretutto deduco che sarà come grafica simile alla "Principessa Sophia", l'avrei preferita in 2d, oppure anziché questi due progetti un bel film cross over tra rapunzel e frozen, visto che si racconta nel web che le principesse di questi due film siano cugine.

Però la serie di Ariel non è nata come produzione del Disney Junior, anzi all'epoca ancora non esisteva la suddivisione delle varie categorie a cui appartenevano le serie.

This is a very awesome surprise, even to us: a new animated series based on Disney’s phenomenally popular animated film Tangled will debut on the Disney Channel in 2017. Get your frying pans and flying lanterns and smart aleck-y chameleons ready.

Now, animated series based on Disney animated films aren’t exactly a new phenomenon, with everything from Hercules to 101 Dalmatians getting turned into episodic television. The biggest feature-to-television-series conversion was the syndicated Aladdin TV series, which ran for 86 episodes and included three additional movies. Most recently Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs got the small screen spin-off treatment with The 7D and starting this fall The Lion Guard, which focuses on Simba’s son, will make its official rollout, first as a television movie in November and then at the beginning of next year as a TV series (both will air on Disney Junior).

But what makes the Tangled series so special is the amount of talent that they’ve retained from the original feature film. This new series will feature Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider (nee Eugene) from the movie and showcase new songs from Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater, who were responsible for all of those catchy tunes in the original film. Clare Keane, daughter of Disney Legend Glen Keane (who at one point was the director on a very different version of the film and who later served as an animation supervisor), consulted on the film. They’re really getting the band back together. This is roughly the equivalent of snagging Robin Williams for the Aladdin television series.

Additional characters from the feature that will make the leap to episodic television include Rapunzel’s chameleon sidekick Pascal, the uppity horse Maximus, the thugs from the Snuggly Duckling Pub and a brand new character: Cassandra, described as “a tough-as-nails handmaiden, who becomes Rapunzel’s confidant.” We’re sold.

In terms of timing, the series takes place in between the events of the feature film and the start of the utterly charming 2012 short film Tangled Ever After. Apparently there were a lot of adventures that Rapunzel and Eugene got into in the time in-between. We don’t have any details on what the animation style will be but based on the promotional artwork, Tangled fans will be very, very happy.

Series to Feature Music by Academy Award-Winning Disney Legend Alan Menken

"Tangled," an animated series for kids, tween and families, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' acclaimed feature film, has begun production with Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene (also known as Flynn Rider). The series will premiere in 2017 on Disney Channels around the world. It was announced today by Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. It will also reunite Disney Legend and Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.

Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series was developed by animation veterans Chris Sonnenburg (Disney's "Enchanted") and Shane Prigmore ("The Lego Movie").

Marsh said, "The genius of the original movie was its seamless blending of cinematic adventure, character-driven comedy and touching emotion. And we are fortunate to have several of the creative talent from that movie on board with this new production. With the addition of Chris and Shane as Executive Producers, we have the perfect team in place to create a series worthy of the original film."

Set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, "Tangled Ever After," the animated series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world drives her to the realization that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny. She boldly puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, much to the dismay of the King who, after missing out on Rapunzel's youth, must accept that his daughter is now an independent young woman. Accompanying Rapunzel on her journey will be Eugene; the plucky chameleon sidekick, Pascal; the no-nonsense horse, Maximus; the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs; and newcomer Cassandra, a tough-as-nails handmaiden, who becomes Rapunzel's confidant.

In 2012, Disney Channel presented the "Tangled Ever After" short, which delivered 5.0 million Total Viewers, 2.6 million Kids 2-11 and 1.4 million Adults 18-49.

Sonnenburg is the executive producer and supervising director and Prigmore is co-executive producer and creative director. Jase Ricci ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles") is story editor. Celebrated artist Claire Keane ("Frozen," "Tangled"), daughter of Disney Legend Glen Keane, who was animation supervisor on the feature film, consulted on development of the series. Emmy Award-winning Kevin Kliesch ("Tangled Ever After") will serve as score composer.

Ma siamo sicuri che sia su Disney Junior? Perché tutte le notizie che ho letto riportano solo "Disney Channel". Comunque io sono abbastanza fiduciosa, la DTA ha prodotto belle serie ultimamente ed il team che c'è alle spalle mi pare un buon team, senza contare la consulenza di Claire Keane e la colonna sonora di Menken e Slater.

Quel look 2D mi piacerebbe molto devo dire!

Credo che lo stile sarà qualcosa tipo i titoli di coda del film originale.. comunque si reinizia a brandizzare i Classici, come ai vecchi tempi; almeno le nuove generazioni si ritroveranno qualcosa d'altro su Disney Channel a parte quelle pessime serie sui bambini coi sogni di gloria.

Zachary Levi: As far as how it came about, I got an email or call from my agency saying, “Hey Disney is ramping up to do an animated Tangled series, and they want you and Mandy [Moore] to come back and reprise your roles.” I was like, “What?! That’s awesome!” And then, I sat down with the writers and they gave me and Mandy this really big pitch about where the series was going to go and the storyline. It takes place between the end of the film and before the short film, Tangled Ever After, that was released about our wedding day. It’s that three years of adventure and journey of Flynn and Rapunzel, finding out who they are and finding out who one another are. It’s not going to be done in the same CG animation style. It’s going to be done in a really cool 2D stylized way. Mandy and I are back, with some of the other people who voiced the characters in the original film, and Alan Menken is coming back to do music. While it’s not a full-blown musical show, there will be some songs peppered throughout. It’s just really cool.

Q: Are you surprised that it took so long for them to want to revisit those characters again?

Zachary Levi: I don’t know why it took so long. I think after the film, there were probably conversations going on of, “Do we make a sequel? Do we make another film?” The development process is an interesting one. There’s a lot of voices and a lot of people who weigh in on the decision making for what’s best for a particular IP. I think they probably weighed doing the movie for awhile. By the way, this is all conjecture. I have no idea. I would wager that that was probably something that they were talking about, but they weren’t really sure. Plus, they had a slate of all the other films they were doing, so they probably talked about when were they going to slide it in, if they were going to. Ultimately, what they probably settled on was doing an animated series, and then they developed that idea for awhile and landed on what they landed on. I think that’s cool.

[...] One of the fun things about that is that there will be younger audiences who may have been too young to have watched the original movie, or maybe they weren’t even born, and now they get to watch a series that’s brand new for them. And kids or adults who saw the movie can now watch the series. The idea for the series is to have the same heart and world that the film was, which was something that was enjoyable for both adults and kids. Though it’s on the Disney Channel, it will be something that the whole family can enjoy. That’s exciting!

Those are absolutely not conflicting reports at all !
Both directors are right.
They SERVED (past) as consultants when this project was in early stages a long time ago to make sure the characters will stay true to the original movie.
Since the TV show is in production, they are not involved anymore.
Hope that makes sense now.

Effettivamente senza i lunghi capelli biondi non sarebbe Rapunzel 100%... voglio dire nell'immaginario è cosi, la versione col taglio corto e bruno è solo il finale del film, meno riconoscibile, secondo me...

Things Get Hairy at El Capitan’s Countdown to Zootopia: Tangled Screening

In celebration of Walt Disney Feature Animation’s newest feature film Zootopia, Disney’s El Capitan Theater in Hollywood held a 7-night countdown even from February 18th through the 24th. Each night, one of the animation studio’s most recent films was presented with a special introduction. On Saturday, February 21st, that film was Tangled.

Co-director Nathan Greno took the stage to explain how proud he is of the film. Working for Disney was something he had dreamed of ever since he was a young boy in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He thanked all of the fans in the audience for making it such an amazing experience for him before introducing Mandy Moore, voice of Rapunzel.

Mandy Moore declared Tangled as the thing she is most proud of in her career so far. With that, the duo decided to do a Q&A. However, fans in attendance seemed less interested in questions about the film and were more interested in asking for favors. One of Mandy’s biggest fans was there in Rapunzel cosplay and the singer/actress happily obliged her request for a photo.

Another fan asked for Mandy’s autograph while another asked if she would sing “Happy Birthday” to a friend in the audience. Greno joked “Does anybody have any actual questions?” But the manager of the theater had to cut the Q&A in order to pass out some of the raffle prizes. Some of the more amazing items given away included original Nathan Greno artwork of Rapunzel created just for the event, signed movie memorabilia and a Zootopia swag bag.

The curtain closed behind Nathan and Mandy as they explained that the final giveaway was very big and would be given away by seat number instead of raffle ticket number. A young woman in Row G, Seat 2 was asked to join them on stage and when the curtain parted, a man was standing behind it with a ring. His proposal explained that their first date was Tangled. The audience let out a unanimous “Awwww” as she said yes.

At this point the film was supposed to start, but some fans began yelling their unanswered questions, which tickled Nathan Greno pink. “Oh, now you have actual questions?” The first question asked about a specific song that was cut from the film and Nathan Greno didn’t seem to recall the title, but explained that songs are usually omitted when they slow down the story and in this case, may have been from an earlier version of the story. Another fan yelled a question for Mandy asking if she is making any new music. “Yes, I’m making new music and there’s new music in the Tangled TV series.” She also pointed to the balcony where the crew behind the upcoming Disney Channel series let out cheers of excitement for their project.

Just before exiting, Nathan Greno explained that the short Tangled Ever After would play at the end of the film, which caused a loud cheer from the audience. It was a real treat to see Tangled again on the big screen and I had forgotten just how funny Tangled Ever After was. The whole experienced left me even more excited for Zootopia.

Segnaliamo che i genitori di Rapunzel avranno un nome: la Regina si chiama Arianna e il Re si chiama Frederic.
Inoltre nella serie tv sarà presente Xavier, un maniscalco che è un personaggio dalla pelle nera che era stato inizialmente pensato per essere uno dei personaggi del film quando era diretto da Glen Keane e Dean Wellins e la storia era molto dark.

Ever since Tangled: Before Ever After, the new animated Disney Channel series inspired by 2010’s Tangled that takes place in between that film and the 2012 short “Tangled Ever After,” was announced, one huge question has persisted: what is the animation style going to be (the original film, of course, featured computer-generated animation)? Well, now we have answer to that question, as well as new details on the series’ cast, title (see above!), music, and the very first image from the show.



Based on the gorgeous image provided (the immensely talented Claire Keane, daughter of Disney Legend Glen Keane, contributed design work and consultation), the series will utilize a traditional, 2D animation look. What’s so amazing about the artwork is that it completely captures the original film’s feeling, while still creating its own vibe. We cannot wait to watch this new series, especially since it was announced that original composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater will be contributing music, alongside composer Kevin Kliesch (“Tangled Ever After”).

Also announced was the series’ voice cast, which is incredibly impressive. It’s already been announced that Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will reprise their roles from the film, but we now know that Jeffrey Tambor and Paul F. Tompkins will also reprise their roles as Big Nose and Shorty, two of the Snuggly Duckling pub thugs. Additionally, M.C. Gainey will be the Captain of the Guards one more.

According to promotional materials obtained by Stitch Kingdom, Disney Television Animation’s Tangled spin-off series, ‘Tangled Before Ever After,’ is set to premiere in February 2017. Actually, a ‘tentpole’ event (likely an extended episode/movie) is slated to premiere in February while the series itself is planned for a June 2017 start. Granted it’s still early and this has not been officially announced, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

What is official, however, is word from executive producer Chris Sonnenburg has created his own Tumblr account since the most recent casting announcement and promises to not only acknowledge how Rapunzel reclaimed her long hair in the series, but has plans to actually explain it.

Levi has revealed that there will be no “Tangled” sequel in the big screen but there will be a television series for the Disney princess.

The actor played Rapunzel’s knight and shining rider Flynn in the animated film “Tangled.” He told HollywoodLife, “There’s not going to be a Tangled 2,” but “We’re doing a Tangled series! Tangled: Ever After was the short we did, and now we’re doing a series for the Disney Channel.”

The “Tangled” TV series is not the only project that Levi is on right now. He is up for his first Tony nomination as Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his role in the Broadway stage, “She Loves Me.”

The likelihood of Elsa appearing in “Tangled” is not farfetched. There have been speculations that Elsa and Rapunzel are the real sisters.

A site, named Closer, also noted that during Elsa’s coronation in “Frozen”, viewer had a glimpse of Rapunzel and Flynn among the crowd visiting the Kingdom of Arendelle. “Frozen” will also be coming to Broadway in 2018.

New York Times earlier reported that Disney announced its plans to bring a staged musical adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film, the box office animated film that gave the world the earworm “Let It Go.”

As for “Frozen 2,” the movie sequel is still on. In March, Disney and Pixar have confirmed that there will be a sequel to the 2013 blockbuster animated film.

“Frozen” director Christopher Buck revealed that they already started forming the plot for the part two.

“Jen and I are just getting back into the story room together and throwing ideas around. We have an overall idea, a concept, which I think is a very strong one. I’m very excited about doing it,” he said.

“Frozen 2” is expected to be released in 2018.

Zachary Levi is counting down to the return of Tangled!

Disney is reviving the 2010 blockbuster movie for a new animated series, Tangled: Before Ever After, which will air 78 episodes over the course of three seasons. It will pick up after the end of Tangled when Finn (Levi) and Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) officially couple up.

“This takes place between when they end up getting married [in Tangled Ever After] and whatever those adventures were,” Levi told ET recently at YouTube Space in New York City.

Tangled was a huge success for Disney when it hit theaters six years ago, making nearly $600 million at the worldwide box office. That prompted Disney/Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter -- the man behind Tangled -- to rethink his desire to move away from fairy tales following the movie smashed expectations.

“He said, ‘Alright guys, this is it. This is the last one,’” the 35-year-old actor recalled Lasseter saying. “Then he made Tangled and we did really well and it was enough to buoy that for them to go and make Frozen.”

“So I will say to the Frozen people, ‘You’re welcome. You are welcome,’” Levi joked.

With networks rebooting and resurrecting beloved franchises for a new generation, Levi put to bed any notion that a Chuck revival series could be in the forecast. However, he was more open to the idea of a feature film reincarnation for the NBC action comedy.

“That’s what I’d like to do,” he said. “Even before we wrapped the show [in 2012], I always thought it would be fun to do annual or semi-annual Chuck movies, just to get the band back together for a month or two because it’s a premise that can lend itself to that. But getting everybody back together to get the series back together would be difficult.”

Tangled: Before Ever After premieres on Disney Channel in 2017.

Beh Rapunzel è iconica coi capelli lunghi e biondi... non potevano fare una serie tv con lei con i capelli corti e bruni...
è una serie sequel del film animato ma precedente al cortometraggio... ci sarà una spiegazione del perché ha i capelli biondi e alla fine del perché torna bruna.

Sarà giocato su un "what if" come Cenerentola 3, non un'offesa del Classico ma una storia parallela sulle possibilità e le ipotesi, il trailer stesso allude al fatto della sorpresa dei capelli ritornati biondi e lunghi.

Mercury Filmworks is an awesome Canadian studio and they're doing a lot of the Disney TV animation shows like Jake and the Never Land Pirates, The Lion Guard, and the newest Tangled show that’s about to come out. They gave us a VIP tour which was really cool. […] They were working tradigitally which was awesome to see. They use Toon Boom which is like a Flash-style look but with a different program. They have made it into an art form. It’s amazing the way they can do it. And they brought in CG elements too. We saw a scene from Tangled that somebody was working on their Cintiq. He was a CG animator. He was doing a horse rearing back and doing all this full animation with basically a CG version of Rapunzel and then they put in her face from 2D. They add that separately on another level to make it look seamless.

Boh, sono un po' scettico anche io.
Sono d'accordo che Rapunzel deve avere i capelli lunghi e biondi, ma a questo punto ogni stratagemma che si saranno inventanti per farle ricrescere i capelli manderà all'aria la credibilità del film.
Se invece il tutto rimane in piedi come un "what if" alla Cenerentola 3, allora proprio non è il prodotto che fa per me perchè non mi interessa saperlo "..e se".

Diciamo che se fosse stato un mid-quel o un prequel anche anche, ma così....meh...

A me questa serie fa storcere un po' il naso sinceramente, a partire dall'animazione troppo kawaii per i miei gusti, passatemi il termine. Tra l'altro non sarà destinata a Toon Disney ma così mi fa pensare a un target limitato proprio ai più piccini...
Sono curiosa di sapere che escamotage si inventeranno per la ricrescita dei capelli, che poi di punto in bianco torneranno corti e scuri nel sequel

A me lo stile invece piace moltissimo, è lo stile d'animazione Disney in TV oggigiorno a cui hanno adeguato Lion Guard, i Ducktales e i corti di Topolino e mi piace!
Piuttosto sono scettico sulla questione "capelli lunghi e biondi" e su come la giustificheranno dopo gli eventi del film...

Davvero carina l'animazione, la gestualità dei personaggi è del tutto simile a quella del film, soprattutto le movenze un po' buffe di Rapunzel e le espressioni di Maximus. L'unico che forse non mi convince è Eugene, ma perché non riesco ancora ad abituarmi a questo stile di disegno.

Extensions of the story span new Tangled print and e-book titles including an original middle grade series by Leila Howland, inspired by the series from Disney Publishing; Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media will debut new playsets, dolls, role-play, apparel and accessories later this fall at Disney Store and all other retailers; the singles “Wind in My Hair” performed by Mandy Moore and “Life After Happily Ever After” performed by Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Clancy Brown, releasing on February 10 and March 10, respectively, from Walt Disney Records; and a DVD of the TV movie and four animated shorts releasing April 11 by Disney Studios.

Produced by Disney Television Animation, Tangled: The Series was developed by animation veterans Chris Sonnenburg (Disney’s Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The Lego Movie). Sonnenburg serves as executive producer and supervising director; Benjamin Balistreri (How to Train Your Dragon) is supervising producer; Jase Ricci (Disney XD’s Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero) is story editor; and Alan Bodner (The Iron Giant) is art director. Celebrated artist Claire Keane (Frozen, Tangled), who painted Rapunzel’s tower murals in the feature film, is the series’ visual development artist.

The series features songs by Academy Award-winning Disney legend Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. Emmy Award-winning Kevin Kliesch (Tangled Ever After) serves as score composer.

Sulla pagina FB del forum, la Gazzetta Disney ha pubblicato una bellissima intervista ad Ilaria De Rosa, voce di Belle nel live action de La Bella e la Bestia. La De Rosa rivela di essere stata scelta non solo per la voce di Elena di Avalor ma anche per Rapunzel nelle rispettive serie TV.

The original series based on the 2010 animated feature debuts Friday on the Disney Channel.

Based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' 2010 hit of the same name, the new Tangled animated series debuts today on the Disney Channel and takes place after the events in the film as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and its people.

The series — as well as the recently aired original movie, Tangled Before Ever After — features Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene/Flynn Rider, respectively, along with the music team of Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. The voice cast also includes Julie Bowen, Jeffrey Tambor, Sean Hayes and Eden Espinosa.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Moore, Levi, and executive producer and supervising director Chris Sonnenburg (Disney's Enchanted).

What prompted the series?

Chris Sonnenburg: Tangled was one of [Disney Channel’s president/CCO] Gary Marsh’s favorite Disney movies; it was his idea to develop it into a series. There was definitely more story to tell with these characters, how they get to their wedding day.

Zachary Levi: There was story to tell — the personal growth of the characters individually and together. It’s a fairy tale thing where they fall in love and get married, but rarely do you get the bumpy awkward road that is the courtship.

What attracted you to the project?

Mandy Moore: We [Moore and Levi] were initially a little hesitant because we are very protective of these characters and what we were lucky enough to be a part of. We wanted to make sure there really was a story to be told. Once Chris regaled us with his plans for, perhaps multiple seasons of this show, it really felt right.

Mandy, what do you enjoy most about playing Rapunzel?

Moore: She’s fierce and she precocious and her life doesn’t begin and end with a man. Ultimately that's where she ends up, and that’s fantastic, but I think what's important and what really drives Rapunzel is this need to figure out who she is and how she views the world, and how she fits into the world around here. That an empowering character for young women and girls to be able to look up to, especially in this day and age. I’m proud that I’m able to give a voice and life to a character like that.

Do you have a favorite among the new songs?

Moore: There are so many. I love Wind in my Hair; it’s the ultimate song of freedom, of Rapunzel recognizing that she has the ability and the capacity to explore the world around her with reckless abandon. It’s beautiful. Alan told us it was originally written for the closing credits of the film, and they didn’t use it. I never recorded it or heard it until now.

Did you discuss the project with the directors of the 2010 movie, Byron Howard (who recently won an Oscar for Zootopia) and Nathan Greno?

Sonnenburg: I was very protective of the movie. One of the first things I did was pitch Nathan and Byron. They asked a lot of questions and gave us some things to look out for. They were relieved that we were able to do some things in the series that they couldn’t in the film — getting to see the relationships with the King and Queen, and how Eugene was going to fit into the family. They had huge ideas of what Rapunzel looked like in the castle. Roy Conli the exec producer of the movie [and Oscar winning producer of Big Hero Six] has been another big champion.

Disney has been creating live action versions of its classics such as Beauty and the Beast. Would you like to do a live-action version of Tangled?

Levi: We are staking our claim right now!

Moore: I’m putting that out in the universe!

Sonnenburg: I would love to do a live-action version, if it made sense for the story!

ET Canada sits down with the film’s stars Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi to speak about reprising their respective roles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in Disney Channel’s modern-day adventure TV movie, “Tangled: Before Ever After” and new animated show, “Tangled: The Series”.

“We’re picking up right after the end of the film,” Levi tells ET Canada. And while their 2010 animated film left Rapunzel without her luscious locks, Moore promises fans will soon find out how her character gets them back, revealing, “Everything is answered, at least the pressing question.”

With Disney’s original “Tangled” film making a half of a billion dollars in box office sales, it’s no wonder Moore is hoping the studio will create a live-action version. “I am lobbying for us to do the live-action version,” she says, telling her co-star, “Let’s do it right now while we’re still young and fresh.”

Speaking of Disney’s first openly gay character in “Beauty and the Beast”, Moore says it’s refreshing to see such inclusion: “I applaud Disney for taking that step. I think it’s modern. It’s current. It’s saying with the times. It’s representational of the way the world is, the way the world looks.”

The “Tangled: Before Ever After” movie premieres March 24 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel, while “Tangled: The Series” premieres March 31 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel.

The new animated TV shows get comic adaptations as well

This summer sees the highly-anticipated return of DuckTales, as Disney once again brings Scrooge McDuck and his troublesome nephews back to the zeitgeist. TV screens won’t be the only place to catch the new animated adventures of these cartoon ducks, however. This July will also see the launch of DuckTales tie-in comics from IDW. Creators have yet to be announced, but the series will have a similar aesthetic to the look of the new TV show, allowing easy crossover for fans.

In addition to DuckTales, IDW will also be kickstarting a Tangled series of comics based on the animated TV show Tangled: The Series. The comic adaptation will begin with an original graphic novel due out in August. Tangled: Adventure Is Calling will feature the continuing adventures of Rapunzel, along with Eugene (the former Flynn Rider), Pascal, Maximus, and their new friend Cassandra.

“We’re extremely excited to expand IDW’s relationship with Disney. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding both of these new animated series and we aim to live up to, and exceed, fan expectations.” IDW editor Sarah Gaydos said in a statement.

La seconda stagione cambia titolo (in USA ovviamente): si intitolerà Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. Il debutto è il 24 giugno.

Entrano in scena diversi personaggi, tra cui la scimmietta (che vediamo in una delle scene eliminate del Classico) e l'ex fidanzata di Flynn.

Dopo un anno e una virata decisamente dark nel finale della seconda stagione (che ha svelato tra le altre cose il Dark Kingdom, le vere origini di Flynn, il mistero delle gocce di Luna e un tradimento a sorpresa) oltre ad aspetti che in buona parte ricordavano pure Atlantis l'Impero Perduto (in tutta onestà è una cosa che non abbiamo proprio capito l'idea di rendere Rapunzel una serie con aspetti che richiamano nettamente Atlantis), segnaliamo che il 7 ottobre su Disney Channel USA e sulla App DisneyNow andrà in onda il primo episodio della terza (e ultima) stagione.

Se la seconda serie portava Rapunzel in giro per il mondo e a scoprire il Dark Kingdom, nella terza stagione la Principessa torna a Corona... ma sarà una Corona del tutto differente da quella che ricordava... conquistata da un antico nemico e del tutto lontana dal regno caldo e accogliente che era. Che sarà successo? Riuscirà Rapunzel a salvare il suo Regno, i genitori e riportare Corona all'antico splendore? (ci ricorda la trama scartata di Fantaghirò 7...)
E che sarà del Dark Kingdom e delle Pietre di Luna?

The animated adventure comedy Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure is all set to make its magical third-season premiere with a special one-hour episode on Monday, October 7th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. EDT on Disney Channel and in the DisneyNOW app. Stars Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Zachary Levi (Shazam!) as the beloved Rapunzel and Eugene are joined by Eden Espinosa (Broadway’s “Wicked”) as Cassandra, James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway’s “Aladdin”) as Lance, Paul F. Tompkins (Bob’s Burgers) as Shorty, and Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl) as Varian as members of the talented voice cast.

In the season three premiere, Rapunzel returns to the kingdom of Corona only to find that it has been taken over by an old enemy. Still reeling from Cassandra’s betrayal, Rapunzel must use her inner strength to save Corona and its people, including her parents, King Frederic and Queen Arianna. Sticking by her side is her partner in life, Eugene; her loyal chameleon sidekick, Pascal; no-nonsense and dutiful horse, Maximus; and Eugene’s best friend, Lance.

Joining the voice cast in guest roles for Season 3 are Sean Giambrone (ABC’s The Goldbergs) as the teenage version of Eugene, Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) as the new age thug Kai, Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) as a budding Flynn Rider, Betsy Sodaro (Disjointed) as the memory-stealing witch Clementine, Artemis Pebdani (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as the werewolf hunter Creighton, Gina Torres (Suits) as the rival Queen of Ingvarr, and Tara Fitzgerald (Game of Thrones) as Zhan Tiri, the ancient threat to Corona.

The series has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards including Outstanding Music Direction and Composition (2018) and Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special (2018 and 2019). Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure will continue to air on Disney Channel platforms around the world. The music is by Academy Award-winning Disney Legend Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.

Produced by Disney Television Animation Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure was developed by animation veterans Chris Sonnenburg and Shane Prigmore. Sonnenburg serves as executive producer; Benjamin Balistreri is co-executive producer; Jase Ricci is story editor and co-producer; Alan Bodner is art director. Celebrated artist Claire Keane, who painted Rapunzel’s tower murals in the feature film, is the series’ visual development artist. Emmy Award-winning Kevin Kliesch serves as score composer.

Le prime puntate sono abbastanza belle, ha poi degli episodi nettamente infantilizzati (dedicati alle gare, ad alcuni abitanti di Corona, ecc). Devi vedere se ti piace anche lo stile grafico che ha, decisamente un po' straniante per una serie Principesca. L'episodio dell'incontro tra Rapunzel e Pascal è molto bello, così come la puntata speciale Regina per un giorno.
Pian piano però la storia evolve verso un lato oscuro... già alcuni aspetti della prima stagione contengono elementi dark
La seconda stagione è pure abbastanza dark, specie il finale (in alcuni aspetti richiama espressamente Atlantis l'impero perduto... se odi quel film, non crediamo che Rapunzel la serie faccia al caso tuo, però un'occhiata dagliela per giudicare).

Ciò che devi considerare è che una serie che mescola anche elementi steampunk non solo fiabeschi, ha un contesto fiabesco ma con netti elementi steampunk.
E' vero, l'effetto è un po' straniante, ma per giudicare dai un'occhiata.

veu non l'ho ancora guardata, a me incuriosisce sapere come hanno sviluppato l'idea della magia dei capelli nonché dell'elemento del fiore magico...Ne è valsa la pena? La resa è stata se non epica almeno fiabesca? Anche la giustificazione del ritorno dei capelli lunghi ha avuto senso per voi?

La storia di per sé un senso ce l'ha, eccome. Non è ancora finita quindi bisogna ancora vedere come evolverà ancora.
Il ritorno dei capelli lunghi e biondi ha senso per come trattata.
Più che fiabesca, la serie tv, noi la definiremmo "fantascientifica"... ha più elementi di fantascienza che non di fiaba, con pure elementi steampunk. La seconda stagione (specie il finale) è molto ma molto simile a Atlantis (con cui condivide pure alcune scelte sia della paletta dei colori sia della storia di fondo, vedesi il Cristallo là e le rocce qua)... Parti da questo presupposto, non è tipicamente fiaba, è mescolata con la fantascienza. Ha elementi da fiaba sì ma anche elementi di pura fantascienza. E poi , Alessio, invitiamo Te e chi vuol vedere la serie tv a porsi la domanda "Mi piace Atlantis?" e da lì capisci se è una serie per te o meno.

La serie si concluderà il 1 marzo 2020 con un episodio speciale di 90 minuti. Sarà il gran finale della serie.
Il titolo dell'episodio finale sarà "Plus est en vous", che richiama una frase che la Regina Arianna dice a Rapunzel nel pilot della serie tv "Rapunzel - Prima del Sì".

Ho appena finito la prima stagione e sono gasato. Non credevo, ma mi ha piacevolmente stupito. Il film introduttivo mi aveva parecchio intrigato, così come i primi episodi. Poi, ho perso un po' di interesse con gli episodi più leggeri, ma da "Regina per un giorno", la serie é esplosa. Spero tanto che continui su questa strada e che Disney+ carichi al più presto la seconda stagione.

Sto ascoltando le canzoni in originale e sono molto carine, soprattutto quelle cantate da Jeremy Jordan. In italiano, manco a dirlo, mi avevano lasciato del tutto indifferente

E' un numero musicale spoilerissimo che troverete nell'episodio 12 della terza stagione (uno di quelli da 44 minuti).
Una messa in scena così emozionante non la trovavo da "Let it go": brividi. Ed è stato realizzato per un prodotto televisivo!!!

e difatti Gayfairytale ci confermi che Mattel punta solo su tre bambole mentre le altre non sono pervenute... da qui le vendite in picchiata di Rapunzel ma anche di altre principesse come Pocahontas, Mulan, Vaiana e pure Biancaneve... (non sappiamo sinceramente Aurora se venda ancora o no, solitamente vendeva perché è sempre stata tra le più belle e attirava le bambine proprio per il suo look molto elegante, di classe e sofisticato, diversa da tutte le altre però ora come ora non sappiamo se venda o meno. Jasmine ci sembrava che tra il 2022 e l'inizio 2023 vendeva tantissimo, era una delle bambole che vendeva di più, forse anche per il fatto che per decenni l'hanno snobbata tantissimo, non avendo mai capito il potenziale di questa principessa)
Rapunzel seppure abbia un abito riconoscibilissimo, potrebbe essere sfruttata in vari modi, coi capelli lunghi, con i capelli a treccia, con i capelli corti e castani... insomma potrebbe avere mille combinazioni... se usassero anche un po' un gioco di vestiti (mettendole magari qualche volta un abito di colore diverso, più rosa, più viola scuro, o mettendole l'abito della celebrazione finale, quel rosa/bianco che indossa alla fine del film con Flynn con la giacca nera) potrebbe funzionare ma non la sfruttano affatto...
quindi o Rapunzel non è più vendibile o non la pubblicizzano

che poi crediamo che il vero problema delle principesse che non vendono è da ricondursi, oltre all'assenza di plurimi abiti, al fatto che:
1. non sono state fatte negli anni 90 (riferendoci a Rapunzel e Vaiana perchè Mulan e Pocahontas sono anni 90 ma sono atipiche, sono più donne e meno ragazzine, soprattutto Pocahontas) e ormai i genitori erano quelli che erano ragazzini negli anni 90 quindi incitano i figli a comprare le bambole dei film anni 90 o le regalano
2. non sono state riproposte negli anni 90 / 2000 (vedesi Biancaneve la cui assenza del sequel, a differenza di Cenerentola, ha tagliato le gambe alla popolarità del film, volenti o nolenti va ammesso e il merchandisign e la riconoscibilità della prima principessa è ricondotta a qualcosa di "vecchio", "desueto", "fuori tempo", "fuori moda", quindi le poche vendite o comunque i pochi prodotti a lei dedicati)

purtroppo, siamo onesti, le principesse per aver successo dovevano nascere o avere una seconda gloria nel periodo 90/2000 (periodo di nascita del brand delle Principesse), troppo prima o troppo dopo non sono vendibili, ecco la verità
(non per altro non vi sono mai state pubblicità - serie - sulle principesse post anni 90 mentre quelle prima, ad eccezione di Cenerentola, sono sempre o prese in giro per la questione del bacio d'amore - oggi addirittura considerato stupro - o finite nel dimenticatoio)
