Come scritto, SA è veramente ancora bello fresco, divertente e spigliato!

Secondo me quella versione al cinema funzionerebbe e non toglierebbe nulla all'originale.

Whoopi Goldberg on Sister Act's 'different direction'

Living legend Whoopi Goldberg has exclusively told Good Morning that she has been begging Disney bosses for a return of Sister Act - and it might happen.

The Sister Act star, 62, told Kate Garraway that execs at the company are looking into the idea of the film returning, but not in its original format. She hinted that if the franchise does come back it won't star all of the original cast and would go in a "different direction".

Whoopi said: “We’ve been all over Disney begging. They’ve decided that they’re going to go in a different direction with Sister Act. So it won’t be Sister Act 3 it will be a brand new rendition of Sister Act, and I guess I’ll walk through a scene and that’s how they’ll say I was part of it.”

Dal sito What's on Disney +:

Kathy Najimy Talks About Upcoming Disney+ Original Film Sister Act 3

While a third Sister Act film has been rumored for ages, the film was officially announced as being in development at last month’s Investor Day. Whoopi Goldberg is also on board the film to reprise her role as Deloris Wilson and she will also be producing the film along with Tyler Perry.

Recently, actress Kathy Najimy, who played Sister Mary Patrick in the first two movies, spoke with Sirus XM about the upcoming film.

“For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see [Sister Act 3]. And then quite recently, it turns out, that that may not be true. People may want to see it. So we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back… It’s a really fun movie and it feels good. And you know, nobody’s mad. It’s just, listen-bad singing, great singing, okay singing and then nuns. What’s better than that?”

DaThe Disinsider

Keke Palmer Joining Disney+ Movie ‘Sister Act 3’?

Keke Palmer stopped by The View on Wednesday to discuss her new book series Southern Belle Insults on Amazon Prime. Though, Palmer quickly shifted the conversation to host Whoopi Goldberg and let her know that she wants to work with her on an upcoming project.

The project discussed is the upcoming Disney+ movie Sister Act 3. Palmer was quick to ask Goldberg about the project, “Now Whoopi, I gotta shoot my shot, like I did with Issa [Rae for a role in Insecure] a little bit ago. I heard that Tyler Perry is doing ‘Sister Act 3’ and I just want you to know I’m available for the job. Any job. I mean, you ain’t got to say nothing now, you know, I’ll send you an email or something. Just let know if you need me.”

Well, it looks Keke Palmer didn’t need to ask at all and it was probably unnecessary altogether. Whoopi did in fact have something to say in the moment, and it left Palmer excited but speechless, “I already brought it up,” Whoopi replied with a smile. This is no confirmation but it’s a good sign that it is going to happen.[...]

Whoopi Goldberg tells Kathy Najimy Hocus Pocus 2 led to Sister Act 3 happening

"We're getting a script at the end of the month," Goldberg told former costar Najimy on The View.

Can nuns and witches peacefully coexist? When it comes to making Disney's Sister Act series into a holy cinematic trinity, the answer is yes.

Longtime friends and Sister Act costars Kathy Najimy and Whoopi Goldberg reunited on Friday's episode of The View, during which Goldberg credited the success of Najimy's Hocus Pocus 2 in reviving interest in her long-delayed Sister Act 3.

"I haven't heard anything formal about 3 yet, I've heard rumblings of it. I think it'd be a blast of fun. I look forward to the nuns that we were with that are still with us, seeing them again, they were fantastic, so much fun," Najimy said, later asking Goldberg: "Where is that at? Is that happening?"

The Oscar-winning Ghost actress confirmed to Najimy that the third film "is happening," and that they'd be "getting a script at the end of the month" with producer Tyler Perry on board.

"It took a little while, but it's happening. You all helped that happen, I think, because they brought Hocus Pocus back," Goldberg added. "They finally said, 'We might as well put those nuns back out there and see if they have any juice.'"

Perry appeared on The View in September, revealing that he "loved the idea" of helping to make Sister Act 3, "but the Hollywood system moves a little slower" than he envisioned.

"We've got a good script, we're off to a great start," he said of the screenplay's gestation. "We're just trying to get everybody moving in the right direction to get it going."

Jenifer Lewis, who co-starred with Najimy and Goldberg in the Sister Act films, also recently appeared on The View to express interest in returning to the screen in a third film.

"You know we're still going to do that movie," Goldberg told her. "I do everything I can to work with her, because she's fun."

Disney officially announced that Sister Act 3 was in development back in 2020, with an anticipated streaming release on Disney+. The film would see Goldberg return as Sister Mary Clarence, the musically inclined alter-ego of a nightclub singer who goes into witness protection as a nun.
