Trama: A young boy who is an outsider is approached by a group of elves, who ask him to be their king, and to lead them in battle against the Troll King.
http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kingoftheelvesconceptnc0.jpg

Joe Jump and King of the Elves are two features in early development...
Traduzione: King of the Elves è uno dei due lungometraggi nella fase di preproduzione alla Disney...
Ad oggi NON si sa se sarà in 2D o in 3D!
speriamo 2d
E ANCORA UNA VOLTA I VEU AVEVANO RAGIONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IL TUTTO L'AVEVANO GIA' DETTO CON MESI DI ANTICIPO:
Il prossimo 2d Disney sarà proprio King of the Elves
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=43815
Scheduled for Christmas 2012 from Walt Disney Animation Studios is King of the Elves, an adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story, directed by Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker (Brother Bear).
KING OF THE ELVES (Domestic Release Date: Christmas 2012, Disney Digital 3-D)
Walt Disney Animation Studios
Directors: Aaron Blaise, Robert Walker
Producer: Chuck Williams
Legendary storyteller Phillip K. Dick's short story (his only experiment in the fantasy genre) becomes the basis for this fantastic and imaginative tale about an average man living in the Mississippi Delta, whose reluctant actions to help a desperate band of elves leads them to name him their new king. Joining the innocent and endangered elves as they attempt to escape from an evil and menacing troll, their unlikely new leader finds himself caught on a journey filled with unimaginable dangers and a chance to bring real meaning back to his own life.
The story follows a man by the name of Shadrach Jones who lives in a small desolate town in the South. One night, a group of tired and weary Elves seek shelter from the rain for themselves and their ailing King. Shadrach is doubtful at first, but finally lets them into his home. They put the sickly King in Shadrach's bed hoping he will get better. Sadly, the King dies in bed and the Elves need a king. They convince Shadrach to be their king. At first he refuses, until they convince him of the need for a king in their battle with the Trolls.
Shadrach's neighbor, Phineas Judd tries to convince him that he's going insane. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Phineas is indeed the evil Great Troll. Shadrach leads the Elves in battle against the Great Troll and his gathering. Once the Trolls were defeated in battle, Shadrach abandon's the Throne and goes back to his world, the real world.
Ed ecco il LOGO del film:
http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kingoftheelveslogosmallxd3.jpg
WALT DISNEY’S KING OF THE ELVES, based on the Philip K. Dick story about a gas station attendant who receives a knock on the door one rainy night. It’s a group of elves. Small, maybe a foot tall each. They are all green, with leaves and foliage growing off of them.
They beg him for shelter from the storm. Despite his better judgment he allows them to stay and as reward he is made king of the Elves.
Directed by Bob Walker and Aaron Blaise. It’s pretty far out from release, of course, but they showed some art. The elves I described a little above. The art was very painterly and the idea is that these little green buggers live in modern day Mississippi and have been undiscovered based on their appearance. With the leaves growing on their bodies if a human enters their domain they can just ruffle their foliage, duck their heads down and be completely undetectable.
There aren’t just small creatures in the forests. We saw art of huge moss covered man-like tree giants.
There was no word on if it’ll be traditional animation or not. I’d assume CG animation because the only project they showed that was 2-D cell animation was THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG and they made a big deal talking about it as a return to classic Disney animation.
So, Disney and Philip K. Dick. Bizarre. Looked really nice, though. Something to look forward to… in 4 years…
Siamo arrivati prima parappappero!!!!!!

http://img174.imageshack.us/my.php?image=reelfilogoinneroat6.jpg
As for "The King of the Elves", well that film is truly in the embryonic state and although the story structure is being worked out and they've produced some beautiful concept art, the film is a long way away. Four years is a long way off and things on the project could go in different directions. As of now, the project is scheduled to be CGI, but that's not written in stone. But it's still likely, though...
NEWS:
Yes...Disney Digital 3D
Peccato davvero...
Gia avrei preferito in 2D!!
To Whom It May Concern:
I am interested in the upcoming film adaptation of "The King of the
Elves" by Walt Disney Animation Studios. I was looking for some
information concerning what medium this film will be presented in.
Will it be traditionally animated ala "The Little Mermaid" or animated
in CGI ala "Wall-E"?
Thank you in advance,
Neal Patten
Risposta:
Hi Neal,
This will be a CG animated film.
Thanks for your interest,
Kalen Egan
Neal risponde:
Thank you very much for such a prompt response! How closely is
Electric Shepherd Productions working with Disney on the film and any
notion of when we might see some sort of visual development art or
concept pieces? I've only managed to find a single storyboard image so
far!
I'm extremely excited for this film!
-Neal P.
La Electric Sheperd Production:
We're very excited about it as well! At this time, I can't go into the creative relationship between ESP and Disney simply because the process is still in the very early stages-- they're targeting a 2012 release date. I don't know when more images will be made available for the public to see, but please keep checking our website for any updates as they come.
Best,
Kalen
Infine Neal:
Alright, thank you! I look forward to future updates!
quanto al look me ne starei tranquillo, hai visto Trilli?
Secondo me non resteremo delusi
Speriamo in bene!
Mark, could you tell us something about the upcoming King of the Elves? Are you excited about it? And, since it is based on a P. K. Dick-story, will it perhaps be more dramatic/philosophical in nature than previous work?
Mark Walton: King of the Elves is looking really cool right now. I really like the short story it's based on, and I think the filmmakers want to bring a degree of realism and complexity that we haven't seen before. I think it'll be very dramatic and philosophical. But did you see The Iron Giant? I thought that had some really heavy, serious themes (in addition to a lot of great comedy) that were dealt with really well. There's a lot of pretty heavy stuff in animation out there if you're willing to look for it - check out Frederic Bach's gorgeous films, or Waltz with Bashir, if you're in a really good mood (it's pretty dark!) Or maybe you already know about all this, huh?
Sintesi: In pratica Mark Walton dice che King of the Elves sarà un film ricco di realismo e complessità mai visti prima e sarà molto drammatico e filosofico.
Uao sono curioso anche io.
news interessante!!!
http://movies.about.com/cs/brotherbear/a/brobeardirector.htm
"Brother Bear" Directors Set to Make Their Next Film for Disney
Burbank, CA - October 31, 2003
The filmmaking trio responsible for guiding Disney's exciting new animated feature, "Brother Bear" - directors Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker, and producer Chuck Williams - have signed an exclusive deal to make their next feature for Walt Disney Feature Animation, it was announced today by Dick Cook, chairman of the Walt Disney Studios, and David Stainton, president of Walt Disney Feature Animation. Under the terms of the arrangement, Williams will produce, and Blaise and Walker will direct an unspecified animated feature for the Studio. All three of the filmmakers have been key contributors to Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida since its first day of operation in 1989. "Brother Bear" marks the directing debut for Blaise and Walker.
Commenting on the announcement, Cook said, "Chuck, Aaron and Bob have done a remarkable job with 'Brother Bear' and have created an exceptional and richly rewarding motion picture experience for moviegoers of all ages. With their combined knowledge and experience in animation, they have brought a unique vision and perspective to the art and storytelling process. 'Brother Bear' has a spirit and excitement that reflects the sensibilities of these three talented filmmakers. We are looking forward to working with them on their next film."
Stainton added, "All of us at Disney are extremely proud of 'Brother Bear' and the incredible team responsible for making it. It is a great artistic achievement with a story that is emotional, funny and entertaining. Aaron, Bob and Chuck have proven to be a great creative team. They have some great ideas for future projects and we're sure that their efforts will be just as rewarding. It is truly a pleasure to work with them."
Chuck Williams made his feature producing debut on "Brother Bear," following a distinguished 14-year career at Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida. He edited the Studio's debut project, "Roller Coaster Rabbit," and did second-unit work on "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin," and "The Lion King." Following "The Lion King," he shifted to Feature Animation's Special Projects unit, working as editor and eventually producer on projects including the "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" attraction, the "Lion King" and "Aladdin" video games, the "Hercules" storybook, the Walt Disney World attraction "Legend of the Lion King," as well as original animation for Disney's California Adventure. In 1998, he took on the role of developing feature projects for Disney's Florida Animation Studio, which led to the development of "Brother Bear."
Aaron Blaise joined Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida in 1989 and went on to contribute to a variety of features. He served as supervising animator for the characters of Rajah the tiger on "Aladdin" (1992), Young Nala on "The Lion King" (1994) and for Yao on "Mulan" (1998). Additional credits include character animation assignments on "Beauty and the Beast" (1991) and "Trail Mix-Up" (1993), and assistant animation credits on "The Rescuers Down Under" and "Roller Coaster Rabbit" (both 1990).
Robert Walker has been a key player at Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida since it began in 1989. He started there as a journeyman layout artist on the Roger Rabbit short, "Roller Coaster Rabbit," and subsequently moved up to head of layout for the Florida Studio, overseeing scenes for features including "The Rescuers Down Under," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin" and "The Lion King." He went on to supervise the layout department on Florida's first feature effort, "Mulan" (1998) and helped to guide the layout department for the 2002 hit animated feature, "Lilo & Stitch."
a staffer told me that King of the Elves is going through some changes, and that one of the directors has departed. (Nothing new there; Woolfgang Reithermann was displace by Art Stevens on Fox and the Hound; Chris Sanders exited American Dog. Stuff happens.

King of the Elves is being "retooled."
Da http://blueskydisney.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-made-joe-jump.html:
2012 will possibly see a different film as that year's offering, "King of the Elves" has been pulled off the rails temporarily as it gets retooled. As to what that means, well, it's the direction the story is heading isn't where Lasseter and the Story Trust were expecting it to be. Being as they have time before it's supposed to start animation (approximately late next year), this doesn't mean the end of the project. Remember that this happens on many films at Disney and Pixar. Ratatouille was the last example of the Lamp retooling a project. I've heard that there were story problems as early as a couple months ago with the departure/removal of Robert Walker. Aaron Blaise will most likely get another co-director but that hasn't been announced yet.
News:
Da http://progresscityusa.com/2009/11/23/elves-in-the-sweatbox/:
King of the Elves is being “retooled”. The long-in-development project, based on the 1953 short story by Philip K. Dick, seems to have gone into turnaround once more. Recent reports indicated that one of the film’s directors had departed the project, and the TAG Blog now confirms that it was director Robert Walker. It’s rumored that a new co-director has joined remaining original director Aaron Blaise on the project. It’s unknown how deep these story problems run or how it might affect the film’s previously-announced 2012 release date. The animation process is indeed a confusing and mysterious one, but hopefully the project will re-emerge from these troubles even stronger than before.

Not having read the story, what type of Elves is it that are in King of the Elves?
The tall lord of the rings type or the short santa breed?
Honor Hunter said...
Smaller than Santa elves even...
Think a foot or so tall, green with lots of foliage so they can blend in with nature and very elvish type femine faces.
Hopefully they'll get the story worked out so we can see it in 2013...
King of the Elves sarà in 3D?
Sì è in 3D
beh, resi in 2D sarebbero adorabili... *_* qualcosa tipo i nanetti^^
Sounds like "King of the Elves" is done for good, several comments under the article state that it has been shelved permanently.
Fonte: Disney via TAG Blog
mi dispiace molto, nonostante l'ambientazione fantasy mi ero affezionata aquesto titolo!

Have Disney Canned Their Philip K. Dick Adaptation, King of the Elves?
There’s absolutely no official confirmation of this yet, but several rumours and a clear change to an official website suggest that Disney have ditched their long in the works adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s short story, King of the Elves. The film was being directed by Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker.
When I was out at the animation studios in Burbank earlier this month there was a lot of great-looking Elves artwork dotted about the place. What looked like CG tests for the elf characters showed a great deal of detail and texture, more akin to something like Avatar than a more stylised Pixar picture. As the only images I saw of human characters were sketches or hand drawn concept art I’m not sure what the ultimate aesthetic plan actually added up to.
Interesting note: you can see from the storyboard sketch above that this would have been another Disney film with a Black lead character.
To cut a long story short, I’d be very disappointed to see this film frozen out. What evidence is there that it’s on the scrap heap?
I was put on the trail by some comments on the TAG blog. This is where Steve Hulett of Animation Guild 839 reports on the state of the industry. Following on from Hulett’s report on visiting Disney’s ‘hat building’ on December 22nd, the first comment contained this statement:
King of the Elves was the next big CG flick, and now that that’s canned, and Rich Moore’s project under wraps in terms of style, who knows if there will be another CG movie.
Incidetantally, I believe Rich Moore’s project is a CG film called Joe Jump and would tell the story of a videogame mascot adjusting to a higher-tech new world, but that one’s totally under wraps, officially speaking.
The comments continued to discuss the cancellation of Elves.
Has Elves really been permanently shelved? I hear someone say retooling, then someone say “cancelled”. Of course, six of one, half dozen of the other sometimes…
Has Elves really been permanently shelved? Yes.
I see that King of the Elves has been removed from the Walt Disney Animation Studios website - anyone know why it got shelved? Why was production so turbulent that a director left, it entered re-tooling, and then was canned?
And it’s true. While the page for King of the Elves has not (yet) been deleted, it has been removed from the official WDAS site’s navigation and you need to know the URL to skip to it, or sneak your way in via Google.
Now, the visitors to the TAG blog are going to be almost all industry professionals, so I’m inclined to put trust in these comments.
I’ve sent a few e-mails out to sources who might have more information, but at this time of year I’m not sure that I’ll get anything like a swift response.
There’s two obvious reasons that King of the Elves may have been axed. The first is that it could be very hard to merchandise; the second is that the source story is actually not really what you’d first think of as a Disney toon. Here’s a minor spoiler - the lead character ends up killing his best friend. Sure, he sees him as a Troll, but you know what that Dick chap is like with liquid identities and so on.
It may simply be that they couldn’t get an expanded version of the short story to play well. The writing and storyboarding process at Disney, as per Pixar and some of their rivals, is a long and arduous one. Sometimes, a film just doesn’t come together.
It’s sad to see Elves go but it would be sadder still to see it come out and not be up to quality.
Sad to hear that, I got a chance to visit Disney Animation in Burbank this summer in June, when the offices were in full swing for Princess and the Frog complete with a real replica of Bourbon street in the main offices to inspires the employees.
While there, I got to meet Chuck Williams, the producer. He took us into the main preproduction room where I saw the same artwork I assumed you saw.
It looked really interesting, and you're right, not very Disney at all. Definitely looked to have been planned for CG, although Pixar wasn't involved. They looked to take a lot of inspiration from LOTR's Ents, as I saw pictures of them up, as well as planned characters in the movie bearing a strong resemblance.
Originally they wanted Samuel Jackson for the role of the old man, but last I heard they were pitching it to Will Smith and retooling it.
King of the Elves - 2012 - Walt Disney Animation Studios - CGI:
Shadrach Jones, a retirement age African American man, owns a gas station. One night, he's closing up, when some strange little men approach him out of the rain. He houses them for the night and they reveal they are elves and their king is ill. That night, their king dies in Shadrach's house. The elves want Shadrach to be the new king. They reveal they are at war with the trolls and need a leader. Shadrach isn't sure what to do. He goes to speak with his friend and neighbor, Phineas. After a long conversation, Phineas reveals himself to be the troll king and tries to kill Shadrach on the spot. Shadrach and the elves fight back and win, but barely.
Based on a short story by Philip K. Dick (A Scanner Darkly, Minority Report)
http://www.disneyanimation.com/projects/index.html
Io l'ho saputo da qui:
http://www.badtaste.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10939&Itemid=37
bellissimi grazie mille beast
bellini!!! tenerini!!!
alcuni erano veramente carini....
http://artofdisney.canalblog.com/archives/2010/02/02/11986645.html ha pubblicato diversi altri concept dell'artista Rune Brandt Bennicke. A me piacciono tantissimo!
No cavoli! mi intrigava molto!
According to this report dated to july 6th of this year, reposted on animationguildblog's latest post on the happenings of the Disney Studio, "King of the Elves" might be back in production as well. According to that report:
[b]“He’s [Andy Harkness, art director on Prep and Landing, Glago's Guest etc] now deep into King of the Elves, a feature in the works.” [/b]
Take this with a grain of salt, but who knows, maybe they'll revive this back from the dead and work out the story problems they innitially had
FONTE: Ultimate disney

Rebirth To Rebirth 2
[...]
As of right now, (after Rich Moore's film) two CG animated films have been approved for development and one hand-drawn animated film.
[...]
A while back, Chris Williams presented to Lasseter, Catmull and Ross his pitch for his next project. It was rejected outright by the Chairman of Walt Disney Studios as playing "too young" so it was shelved and Chris went away trying to retool his pitch. Now you all know that Disney Animation was going to do a film called "The King of the Elves," based on the Philip K. Dick story. Well, it too was shelved because of story problems. The take that Aaron Blaise & Robert Walker had wasn't going smoothly. Lasseter decided to stop development on it until they had a better take on the project. Well, now they have that better take, and the version that will be going forward is much different thanks to Chris Williams new direction on the project. That's right, Williams is the new director of KOTE, and it is moving forward in development. While it hasn't received approval to go into production, Williams is one of John's "first finds" at WDAS and he likes what he sees in the young animator/director. Since he came aboard, the story flow has become much smoother than the previous try.

ragazzi , a che punto è king of the elves?
su wikipedia en c'è scritto nella lista dei classici King of the elves - Christmas 2012!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney_theatrical_animated_features
Io pensavo di no!
a me se ci fosse qualche canzone in King of the elves non dispiacerebbe

Altro che at last I see the light, qua perché un film venga alla luce bisogna attendere il giudizio universale...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_of_the_Elves

Believing In Elves...
Thirteen is a lucky number...
There is a lot of talk going on about what comes after "Reboot Ralph" next year...
Specifically, a good deal of talk about Chris Williams' "King of the Elves." I've received several e-mails asking me about the status of this project. A few have asked if it has been canceled.
I can say that as of a couple weeks ago, the project was right on schedule. So if it's been put into turnaround, then it has happened in the last week or so. I personally doubt it. From those Bothans that I've talked to, the project was moving steadily forward and was having no more story problems than any other project of its type. It has been doing so well in fact, that it was/is being considered for the Christmas holiday release for 2013.
Now, all that could change if Lasseter and Catmull find that story problems will make it impossible to have ready for that release date. As far as I know all is moving forward and Chris Williams' next effort should/could be out a year and a half after Ralph winds up rebooting.
Developing...
speriamo 2013

Comunque i concept son belli.

Disney revives 'King of the Elves' toon
'Bosses' scribe Michael Markowitz aboard as pic eyes 2013 debut
By Marc Graser, Jeff Sneider
King of the Elves
Markowitz
"King of the Elves" is rearing its head again at Walt Disney Animation Studios, with "Horrible Bosses" scribe Michael Markowitz tapped to pen the latest script for the toon.
Project is an adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story about a band of elves and one dwarf living in the Mississippi Delta who tap a human as their king after he saves them from an evil troll.
Chris Williams, co-director and writer of "Bolt," is shepherding the project.
The Mouse House originally wanted to produce the pic for a 2012 release, under the helm of Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker (both behind "Brother Bear"), but the project was put back into development to flesh out the story further shortly after Pixar's John Lasseter took the reins of Disney's toon division as chief creative officer in 2006.
Project was unveiled in 2008, alongside "Wall-E," as an upcoming animated feature on Disney's sked. "Rapunzel," retitled "Tangled," was also introduced at the time, as was Pixar's "The Bear and the Bow" (now "The Brave") and "Newt" (which has since been shelved).
With "Wreck-It-Ralph" now on Disney's slate for Nov. 2, 2012, "King of the Elves" is being eyed for a holiday 2013 bow, after "Monsters University" aims to scare up box office that summer.
Lasseter is producing the pic with Chuck Williams.
In addition to "Horrible Bosses," which Warner Bros. releases July 8, Markowitz has written for the TV sitcoms "Becker," "In-Laws," "It's All Relative" and "Bob Patterson," on which he also served as a supervising producer.
Markowitz is repped by CAA, Heroes and Villains Entertainment and attorney Michael Gendler.
Quindi il film potrebbe uscire nel 2013?
WOW!

Elves Still Going?
The various media organs tell us this:
Disney's long-gestating animated film King of the Elves is back on the front burner thanks to an infusion of new creative blood.
Variety reports that Michael Markowitz (Horrible Bosses) has been hired to script the adaptation of the Philip K. Dick short story ... upon which the movie is based. ...
Strange thing is, I've been hiking through the Hat Building for years, and I recall KOTE being in work more often than not. Board people working on it, designers noodling with it, etc.
Take for instance this almost identical story regarding King of the Elves being "back in work":
The King of the Elves (which was due out in the next few years) had actually been shelved. The film, based on Philip K. Dick’s story, has now come back into the forefront however – with Chris Williams as director. ...
A report from last week? Nope. A year ago.
Elves has been in and out of the lineup so many times that I lose track. But glad to see that another pass is being made, although something tells me this is sort of old news.
As of 2013, the next project to be moving down the pipeline is newly re-envisioned "King of the Elves," which has been chugging along under the direction of Chris Williams (something we reported exclusively last year). The storyboarding has been going on, new scenes are being written and the story structure is being tightened up. This CG animated feature should tentatively arrive during the holidays unless a kink in the production process pops up. I've heard many people asking if rumors of it being out of development were true and from what I know, it has continually been moving forward since last year.

At the Diz
I spent a good part of the afternoon at the Disney Company's hat building, where there's more production happening ...
Wreck-It Ralph is well underway, with 100 staffers (if my informants have their numbers right) now working on the picture. A Chris Buck feature and King of the Elves are also moving briskly along.
Animators practicing the hand-drawn version of the craft are now doing test footage of characters in 2-D versions, although the characters will ultimately be rendered and executed as C.G. when the films are in production. An animator related:
"This is a way for directors to see how the characters move and act before the c.g. versions are built. We can get footage out faster for test purposes. ..."
I got to look at some tests. It will be interesting to see the same characters in their computer graphic mode.
And there is early work on a possible hand-drawn feature taking place, although staff said it's too early to say if it will ultimately get made or not. The most recent example of the craft gets released this weekend.
... "Winnie the Pooh" is the Walt Disney Animation Studios' first journey into the Hundred Acre Wood in more than three decades.
... "We are going to take down 'Harry Potter,' no question," said [producer Peter] Del Vecho ...
I'm sure it will be a horse race over the weekend.
Q: Paul, how does you’re job role of head of story differ from any other role in story department?
Paul Briggs: Well a story supervisor is more about managing this team. I am working directly with Chris Williams and a writer on a project now, trying to craft the beats of the story. I feel like I am managing a construction crew and we are laying the foundation now and the construction crew is going to get bigger and bigger and eventually animation will come in and then effects will come in.
Q: Is there any particular work that you have done in your career that you are particularly proud of that you can point out?
Paul Briggs: The work I am doing right now. [...] I am very proud of the amount of work and dedication I am putting into the film. I am excited to be under the leadership of Chris Williams.
Q: What are you all working on at the moment?
John Kahrs: Right now I am directing a short film … that… is all I can say at the moment!
Paul Briggs: This is the toughest question for everyone!
John Kahrs: It hasn’t been announced … it’s going to be amazing, since it hasn’t been announced at all … the fact that I said I am doing it is kind of enough.
Clay Kaytis: I have been focusing on the film that comes out after Paul's film, so if his is unannounced then mine is certainly unannounced!!
Q: These are all shorts?
Clay Kaytis: No, features but the good underlying message is that there is a lot going on in the studio!
Paul Briggs: Yeah I am extremely excited about the future because of the leadership in place, I am excited about our directors and there amazing filmic sense and there ability, I am working with Chris Williams on a film that Chris is directing he just has one of those great story minds. I am excited about the future.
Q: Any more upcoming features, anything that you have up there in the future for you?
Peter del Vecho: Well, right after this, next year will be Wreck-It Ralph, a very funny CG movie about videogames of the 60’s coming into the present day. Then we’ve got another movie, King of the Elves coming up, again a very different world. And then a movie that I’m working on that hasn’t been announced yet. So, we have a big line-up of films coming up. In fact, we have more films in development that we can possibly put in production. So, it’s a great time at the studo.
Stupenda cosa!!!!

News:
Da http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2011/07/projects.html:
On the theatrical front, Disney is into the production of Wreck-It Ralph, and in development with King of the Elves, Snow Queen, and a hand-drawn picture from Ron-John. (I think I'm forgetting a property or two. Oh well.)
Traduzione: sul fronte cinematografico la Disney ha in produzione Wreck-It Ralph e in sviluppo King of the Elves, La Regina delle nevi e il film in animazione tradizionale di Ron Clements e John Musker.
Inoltre, altra news:
Ecco cosa dice:
character designs....
for a movie... that has been shelved.
(riferendosi appunto alla prima incarnazione di King of the Elves.)
Spero di no
News:

Q: This was for King of the Elves, right?
Jin Kim: Yes, the old version of King of the Elves!
Traduzione:
King of the Elves gets a look-see from Mr. Lasseter within weeks; the people I talked to didn't know (or weren't saying) if the project the next feature to roll to the end of the production runway, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
Da http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/up-through-hat.html
"... They screened the King of the Elves story reels for us, and they look really good. John [Lasseter] has been down since last week reviewing projects, and I think we're going to be doing one film a year for the next three years. Wrec It Ralph, then King of the Elves, and then whatever's ready. There's a couple other projects in work. And Ron [Clements] and John [Musker] are going to be pitching to John ..."

No il52° dovrebbe essere Rebooth Ralph!
After that, next year we go back to classic fairy tales. Minus the names that tell you they're royalty, of course. But one tale that won't be happening anytime soon is about Elves. That's right, "King of the Elves" was racing with "Frozen" to be the 2013 release and it still has too many story structure problems to make it across the finish line. So many in fact, that Chris Williams is now off the project and going back to work on other projects (not as a director, but story boarder). It seems the script for Snow Queen aka: "Frozen" is in much better shape and it got the release date for next year, while KOTE got put on the shelve. Again.
Uff!!!
In effetti ormai i film li stoppano mille volte...
And before anyone asks, there is/was no movement on "King of the Elves" at this time. It doesn't mean there won't be any, but as of right now, Chris Williams is busy helping on other projects right now and John and everyone feels that they'll just let this story sit for a while. It doesn't mean that it's dead, I mean, look how long it took for "The Snow Queen" to actually make it into production. And what it became is miles from where it started out, so who knows what it'll look like when/if it makes it to the silver screen. Animated film take a long time to come together. It doesn't mean that you won't see it be one of these films, but it's not one as of right now.
Bene!!!
