Angelina Jolie May Soon Star in 'Maleficent 2'

The Maleficent depicter is also eying several projects which she will possibly star in, including two large-scale Universal projects.

Angelina Jolie may spend most of her time behind camera as director lately, but she is reportedly also eying several projects which she will possibly star in. In addition, Jolie may soon reprise her role as vengeful fairy Maleficent in "Maleficent 2".

With Disney planning to make a large amount of live-action movies, "Maleficent 2" will possibly soon be developed as well. The first "Maleficent" movie gained a spectacular cume back in 2014, earning $758 million worldwide. "Maleficent 2" therefore is expected to repeat the success of its predecessor and follow the success of other Disney big hits, such as "The Jungle Book". Although "Maleficent 2" hasn't had a release date yet, the movie is expected to hit U.S theaters sometime in 2019.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie is also in talks to star in two large-scale Universal projects. The first one is an adaptation of Simon Sebag Montefiore's novel "Catherine the Great and Potemkin: The Imperial Love Affair", which follows the love affair between Catherine the Great and a Russian military leader. The second one is a World War II espionage drama based on Clare Mulley's book "The Spy Who Loved".

In terms of directing, Jolie recently helmed "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers". The movie is adapted from the memoir of Loung Ung, the survivor of Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Jolie's next directorial project may be an adaptation of Alessandro Baricco's novel "Without Blood", which follows the brutality of unnamed war. Recently, Jolie has signed on to produce Disney's "The One and Only Ivan", a children's film based on Katherine Applegate's novel of the same name.

XD

Bah! Strana come cosa.

Brenton Thwaites Talks “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Maleficent 2”

DA MAN: Beyond the two titles we’ve covered so far, you’re also set to appear in, among others, the sequel to “Maleficent” which has just been announced, “The God Four” and “Entry Level.” Which are you most excited about and why?
Brenton Thwaites: I’m excited about each of them in their own way. “Maleficent” was one of my first bigger movies that got me off the ground in many ways, so I have a bit of soft spot for the movie. “The God Four” and “Entry Level” are both opportunities for me to play completely different characters. One (“The God Four,” which also stars Jai Courtney and Michael Douglas) is a darker, behind-the-scenes look at the world of college rowing and how the pressures of training to be the best can sometimes be too much to handle, and the other (“Entry Level” featuring Thwaites playing opposite Karl Urban) is a fast-paced action thriller about a guy who thinks he is going for a high-level job interview but then ends up in the middle of a possible terrorist attack. Both are full of energy and exciting on the page, hopefully on the screen too!

DA MAN: Your upcoming movies alone include everything from fantasy to thrillers and dark fairy tales. Do you have a favorite genre?
Brenton Thwaites: I enjoy watching comedies. I like to laugh.

DA MAN: And the one that really solidified your place as an actor? Or perhaps your breakthrough role, if you will…
Brenton Thwaites: I don’t know if I’ve had it yet. Maybe “Maleficent” because it was my first studio movie, maybe [Australian crime drama series] “Sea Patrol” because it was my first job right out of college, maybe “The Giver” as it was my first leading role in a studio film. I’m not sure. I’ll have ask someone else for their opinion.

Dal sito CSUF:

Woolverton Comes Back to CSUF, Moves Female Characters Forward

Screenwriter, playwright and novelist Linda Woolverton ’79 (M.A. theatre arts) is coming back to her alma mater Tuesday, March 21, in an open forum moderated by Anne James, associate professor of theatre and dance. The forum, organized by the College of the Arts as part of Women’s History Month, begins at 1:15 p.m. in the Recital Hall (Room 110) of the Clayes Performing Arts Center.
Woolverton wrote the screenplay for “Beauty and the Beast,” which became the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture by the Academy Awards. She also penned the screenplays for “Alice Through the Looking Glass” and “Maleficent,” and co-wrote the screenplay for “The Lion King.”
The alumna also wrote the sequel to “Maleficent,” which, like the first one, will star Angelina Jolie.
“I have absolutely set out over my career to move the female protagonist forward through time,” Woolverton told the LA Times last year. “Growing up, my favorite movie was ‘Lawrence of Arabia,’ and I wanted to see a woman lead that life of adventure.”

Maleficent 2 is about Maleficent's daughter "Malevolent" who has a love affair with the son of Auora

FONTE: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4777008/

Rumor:

Angelina Jolie planning to retire from acting, will Maleficent 2 be her last film?

Reports suggest that after Maleficent 2, Angelina Jolie plans to concentrate on writing and directing films.

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie may be planning to retire from Hollywood amid her ongoing divorce and custody battle against actor Brad Pitt, reports suggest.

The Maleficent actress is done making movies and wants to focus on her six children, reports aceshowbiz.com. “Angie is over starring in films. She wants to write and direct but as far as acting is concerned, she has retired. The next chapter of her life will focus on her children and all the important causes she supports. She finds acting shallow and wants to focus on the stuff in life that really matters,” the source told Naughty Gossip magazine.

Maleficent 2 might be Jolie’s last film.

Dal sito PPP Focus:

Earlier this week, a close source to Jolie revealed that the mother of six is expected to do Maleficent 2 in the upcoming months – and it will be her last movie role.

Dal sito DunyaNews:

Will Maleficent 2 be Angelina Jolie's last movie?

(Web Desk) – Reports have been circulating in media which claim that the Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie was planning to retire from the film industry. After the success of Maleficent, its sequel might be her last movie before the retirement.

The 41-year-old actor was reportedly considering retirement after the divorce with Brad Pitt and the battle for custody of their six kids.

According to the reports, Angelina Jolie wants to focus on her six children, three of whom she had adopted internationally. An entertainment magazine even claimed that the Maleficent star was ‘done with acting’ and wanted to focus on the children.

The magazine added that Maleficent 2 could be her last movie and that she was also considering film direction as well as script writing.

Vogliamo vedere proprio cosa faranno.

A 1979 master of arts in theater arts graduate, Woolverton is currently writing a sequel to “Maleficent” and has been engaged to write and produce an animated fantasy that will launch a feature animation division for Skydance Media.
