Disney XD has put "TRON: Uprising" on the grid - a compelling story and visually stunning television series scheduled to premiere in summer 2012 on Disney XD. The story focuses on an era of the "TRON" storyline that transpires after the popular 1982 feature film and before the story in Walt Disney Studios' upcoming TRON: Legacy Its impressive list of artists, animators, directors, producers and digital technicians includes executive producer/director Charlie Bean ("Robotboy," "Samurai Jack," and "Powerpuff Girls"); and consulting producers Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz (both screenwriters of TRON: Legacy / executive producers of "Lost") and Justin Springer (co-producer of TRON: Legacy). The series will be preceded by a 10-part "TRON" micro-series launching in Fall 2011 on Disney XD.

The noteworthy voice cast of "TRON: Uprising" includes Elijah Wood as Beck, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Paige, Mandy Moore as Mara, Nate Corddry as Zed, Lance Henriksen as Tesler, Paul Reubens as Pavel, Reginald VelJohnson as Able and Bruce Boxleitner reprising his role as Tron.

In making the announcement, Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide said: "'Tron: Uprising' is the culmination of an extraordinary collaboration between Disney Television Animation and our feature film studio. And it is a perfect reflection of everything we want Disney XD to stand for - innovative storytelling, aspirational, heroic characters, and world class design."

Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series follows Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron - the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron's persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces.

Grande notizia: il debutto della serie avverrà con un lungometraggio! Il film animato sarà un Disney Channel Original Movie e la prima tv negli Usa è prevista per il 3 gennaio 2012. La serie animata prenderà poi il via nell'estate. Ulteriori dettagli saranno rivelati alla D23 Expo.


‘TRON: Uprising’ to Find Genesis as Disney Channel Original Movie

Before it finds life as an animated series on Disney XD in 2012, TRON: Uprising, the sequel prequel, will make its debut as a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) according to the publisher’s description of the junior novel of the same name.

Slated to be released on January 3, 2012, which is historically early relative for a movie it promises in the spring, the book’s description reads as follows:

When the computer world of The Grid is taken over by an evil tyrant, one young man named Beck must join forces with the legendary hero Tron to free his home city. Under Tron’s tutelage, Beck will take on a secret identity to fight back, bringing a superhero sensibility to the world of Tron. Featuring brand new settings, characters, and vehicles, TRON: Uprising will bring a unique style and classic storytelling to the Disney Channel and Disney XD!

The animated original movie, hitting TV screens in spring 2012, will kick-off a brand new series in summer 2012. Kids who can’t get enough of superheroes, action-adventure stories, and the sleek and unique look of TRON are sure to love this retelling of the TRON: Uprising original movie.
The novelization will be a retelling of the events of the movie, and will include a full-color eight page insert with frames from the stunning animated feature!

Voice talents attached to the movie and series include Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen and Bruce Boxleitner as TRON. The series is anticipated to air on Disney XD beginning summer 2012.

Expect more details on both the series and information to be revealed in the coming weeks during both San Diego Comic-Con 2011, where the show will be previewed to attendees, as well as Disney D23 Expo.

Sono passati diversi mesi dagli ultimi aggiornamenti su Tron: Uprising, la serie animata della Disney prequel di Tron: Legacy, mostrata l’anno scorso al Comic-Con e in arrivo quest’estate, a giugno.

Ecco finalmente un po’ di novità: è infatti disponibile un primo poster e un nuovo, breve teaser con alcune scene della serie (molto diverse dal primo teaser, ma più definitive), che coprirà gli eventi tra TRON e Tron: Legacy. Potete vedere tutto qui sotto.

Prodotta dalla Disney Television Animation, Tron: Uprisin segue le vicende di Beck, un giovane programma che diventa, suo malgrado, il leader di una rivoluzione all’interno del mondo dei computere, La Rete. La sua missione è quella di liberare la sua casa e i suoi amici dal regno del perfido Clu e il suo seguace, il Generale Tesler. Beck sarà addestrato da Tron - il più grande guerriero che La Rete abbia mai conosciuto. Tron, oltre a insegnare a Beck le tecniche di combattimento per sfidare la brutale occupazione militare, gli farà da guida e mentore: lo vedrà così passare da giovane impulsivo a leader coraggioso e potente.

Ambientata tra il primo Tron e Tron: Legacy, avrà per protagonista un programma di nome Beck che dovrà combattere contro il regime imposto da Clu(il villain del film).
